Wow, my first reddit award! And all I had to do was speak the truth, haha. Thank you kind stranger 🥰

Gotta wonder why men write this garbage in the first place - they're getting desperate. They feel entitled to sex. The truth is, we don't owe men sex. Ever. No one has any claim on your body but you. It's just that up until recently women have been forced to interact with them, have sex and reproduce with them because of (misogynistic) societal conventions.

I think the company is Selkie. Always makes me sad that they took the name of a creature from Scottish mythology that has a lot of depth & nuance especially applied to women.

The Peaky Blinders profile pic was red flag enough to not read further. That show is peak male delusion.

Feminine energy receives. Nurturing is for babies and pets, NOT MEN! Edit: LOL at the scrotes commenting who think that women refusing to mother and baby men is hATreD. If you need nurturing past childhood seek therapy.

To me this just feels like a part of libfem ideology. Doesn't matter what the women's orientation, body type or skin colour is its still objectification of a woman's body. Doesn't matter if the audience are women and gay men - EVERYONE living under a patriarchal regime has it ingrained in them that a woman's body is there for titillation, to be viewed and judged for entertainment. Know what's empowering? Not have to take your clothes off or trade your dignity for money/validation. You're perform…

I used to work in a petrol station when I was a teenager. I remember one time a guy came in and was like, "Can my mate get your number? He thinks you're hot." Somehow this freak didn't think seeing what a suitor looks like is necessary. He looked genuinely shocked when I said no. Hated working in that place. Would get harassed by weird men all the time, usually when my older coworker was having a "cheeky cigarette break" 🙄

Super swiper 🤣 that horror story of a post is etched in my brain. Its just a numbers game for them.

Ugh, why is that? When I mention my music taste I always feel guys try to "catch me out" for being a "poser". Why do they feel threatened by women who like metal/heavier music?

I think I may have to include watching Lord of the Rings in my vetting strategies. If he doesn't pass the Legolas Test (I.e. no huffing, squirming, eye-rolling or insecure behaviour when Legolas does something cool) then he's out 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/21 03:16 PM

It gave me a laugh remembering this story. I still can't believe he was so triggered by a FICTIONAL CHARACTER 😂 Also, I keep seeing notifications on my original comment but when I click the notification they disappear. Can only assume scrotes are still shook by Legolas and the mods are deleting their comments 🤔😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/21 03:13 PM

Exactly! His jealous reaction should have been my warning flag that I was dealing with a fragile ego.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/21 02:11 PM

Whenever a Legolas scene came on I could feel him visibly seething next to me. He'd roll his eyes and say how shit Legolas was (like, ok - you try to take down an oliphant single handedly). I'd point out that it's a FANTASY FILM. There are bloody uruk hai being birthed from mud by an evil wizard you're questioning an elf shooting arrows faster than humanly possible?? He obviously lost the plot upon discovering that Orlando Bloom did a lot of his own stunts 🤣

They're like bloody boomerangs! My ex did this and I'm so glad I had a strong-mind sister looking out for me because part of me was flattered by his apologies and grovelling message. The sensible part of my brain of course knew he'd likely sent similar messages to all his exes to see who was dumb enough to bite 🙄
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/11/21 01:08 PM

Such a good strategy! Harassment can make you feel on edge and helpless but sending the messages to others in the guy's circle is a proactive, empowering thing to do. No more suffering in silence.

He needed floor space to practise martial arts (😒) so got rid of his bed. He had a pull out sofa but latterly he just put a pile of blankets on the floor. It's only now that I'm typing this that I realise how bloody low my self esteem was. At that point in life I was a teen and just craving the smallest amount of affection (obviously in the wrong place). Once he had his next victim lined up he got a new bed and ghosted me.

Your last line is the truth and I wish I'd seen it earlier. Being 'invited' over to stay at your bf's when he has No food in the house No clean dishes to cook with No clean kitchen towels (in fact he can't distinguish between kitchen towels/hand towels/bathroom towels) Hasn't changed the sheets I felt it was all so wrong and unfair in my gut but still put up with it. Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for your reply and sharing your wisdom ❤ Since joining FDS I've re-set a lot of instinctive boundaries that were pulled apart by patriarchy/lib fem ideals. Your response makes me realise I need to take a closer look at my standards and how I treat myself so I can see low effort for what it is (and of course, having high standards benefits me regardless of being single or in a relationship).

Observe unprovoked is stellar advice! Would you be able to elaborate on how not getting flowers, etc because you don't expect it is abusive? I'm sorry if it's obvious, but I think I've been guilty in the past of trying to seem 'low maintenance' so this is a red flag I might miss! 🚩

Agreed! I love Lane and see the parallel to Lorelai, too. I think that's why Lorelai is always happy to cover for her! I loved her passion for music, wit and talent. She deserved better than Zack and I feel the writers totally lost their way with the female characters...like can you imagine if Season 1 Rory, Paris and Lane were given a crystal ball and saw their futures 😭😭 I do like the appreciation of small town life in Gilmores, but I wish it didn't have to come with the traditional 'settling'…

Yeah, I agree. Posting screenshots of male depravity is low effort and gives LVM a voice on FDS. I wouldn't see the memes go completely because they can be a relatable starting point but there's just too many now. I especially hate the tiktoks of men dishing out advice - I don't gaf about men's opinions. It's good to be aware of abusive tactics, etc but the wall to wall depravity feels like an invasion of our sacred female space. These days I find myself either rereading the handbook or on FLUS …

Hit the nail on the head. They're so coercive. 'BuT sHe CoNseNteD' is utterly meaningless when you're surrounded by old, rabid, porn-addicted demons. It's always a lose/lose situation.

In the first photo it looks like he can't believe his luck, in the second he knows he's got her and is completely comfortable with her demeaning herself. He thinks he's a prize but his only power over her at the moment is not proposing. When/if she wakes up he won't see her for dust.

That's not treating him like a king, it's treating him like a spoiled princess. What's he doing to earn all that? Protecting the realm? Slaying dragons with a d*ck the size of Excalibur? Burger King's the closest most men will get to being royalty 👑 🤡

I'm so sorry this happened to you. That's really scary. My ex punched a hole in his wall because he was mad at his mum (we were 19 and still lived at home). He then implied it could be me and not the wall next. He also had a similar phrase - "You're tickling my kill switch".

'More than one back burner' - what a cope 🙄. They got lucky with the relationship they're in and they know it. If they had the balls to break up with with their current partner they know they'd be the one left on the shelf. Those 'back burners' wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/09/21 11:21 AM

Oh god, you're spot on about their outfits! T-shirt and baggy shorts is their uniform. Add a backwards cap and some unwashed socks and you've got yourself a LoOk (just not a very good look)

Unnerving insight into a narcissist. While he claims to be fixing his issues the whole post feels like a big ol' neg to introverts and those who fall on the empathetic side. As another poster here explained, human vulnerabilities aren't weaknesses or 'red flags' in the way that narcissistic behaviour is. Being empathetic and introverted or someone who has suffered 'dark times' or feels lonely isn't on the same level as a manipulative abuser who shrewdly exploits another's lack of boundaries to t…

Yes! And there's probably a huge difference in energy between a LVM pretending to like you because of the benefits he can leech from you vs a HVM who is into you as a human being and potential life partner. I say 'probably' because I've never met a HVM to test that gut theory! I'd love to hear more of her thoughts on observing actions, even little things like body language. I feel I'm always on the defensive...it would be nice to know when someone clearly has good intentions 😅
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/08/21 10:34 AM

It's 100% abuse. The bodily pain and suffering is one thing but the mental scars are deep, possibly for life. That's what an abuser wants most of all, to own a piece of your soul.

Happy you found a good one! I think these small gestures count for a lot. It's the small day-to-day moments that make up our lives and when you're with a thoughtful person who anticipates your needs everyday becomes so easy and joyful 💖 In my life that person is my sister 🥰

This has always bothered me too. Hallowe'en is my favourite time of year (besides Christmas) and I always loved dressing up when I was wee. The year before covid me and my sister went as Drusilla and Harmony from Buffy the Vampire Slayer - fangs, ugly vamp foreheads and bright yellow eyes. Run LVMs, run! 🧛‍♀️

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Nothing you did was wrong, he's garbage and preyed on your vulnerability. Saying this because I went through something similar with my ex boyfriend and sometimes still blame myself for trying to contact him afterwards. I always think the shite text apologies years after the fact show that they knew exactly what they were doing at the time but it didn't serve them back then to admit it. Only when they want something from you again do they try the apology route.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/07/21 08:20 PM

I feel so emotional looking at this. Her downward glance and the volcano erupting in the background speaks volumes about how much repressed anger simmers below woman's surface. The disassociation and fatigue...its horrifying and haunting 😔
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/05/21 09:53 AM
35

I'm still healing from the emotional abuse inflicted on me by my father and first boyfriend. It's so hard to respect yourself or put firm boundaries in place when you've been treated like a non-human from someone meant to care about you. And that's not to mention how society at large gaslights and manipulates women. Due to this its taken me until now to realise I was abused. I just thought I was intrinsically annoying/not good enough/socially inept/stupid, etc.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/05/21 10:29 AM

I'm so thankful for this women only space. Without FDS I never would have linked my dissatisfaction and sadness with life to settling for libfem and LVM brainwashing. I was always minimising my achievements, shying away from my dreams and repressing my gut instinct. It's going to be a long road to undo years of conditioning but I'm so excited to rediscover who I am. She's incredible 💕

I agree. They've been socialised to be inhumane therefore their advice is always questionable.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/21 01:27 PM
11

Completely agree. There's a pickme undercurrent to giving males a voice here. It subtly undermines the principles of FDS. I've even seen the phrase 'king' appear on this sub recently and my heart sank 😔 Most men don't even deserve a cardboard McDonald's crown 🤡 Would love to hear the mods opinions on this.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/04/21 01:25 PM
33

Hate the use of the word 'girl instead of 'woman'. So patronising. I come to this space to escape male opinions, whether they're well intentioned or not. I'm a bit tired of the all male created content here recently 😞 Edited to add: also sounds like he's victim blaming and putting responsibility on the woman to leave rather than on the man to stop being abusive.

He was triggered by the effort you're putting into taking charge of your life. A high value person would have asked you more about your hobbies and been enthusiastic about how you're not putting life on hold despite the pandemic. These cheesy ballsacks can mansplain all they want, all I'm hearing is COPE! PROJECTION!! Let me guess, the upshot of their argument is "you'd better lower your standards otherwise you'll never have a relationship with any guy EVER." Joke's on them because I'd rather die alone than go near their boggin' bodies.

Reading this horrified me. To go so far as to imagine how a conversation might go between a cannibal and their victim, but presenting it as cOnsEnsUal pLaY is irresponsible and disturbing. Almost reads like, "if it was legal then I actually could kill and eat you but I guess we'll just bend the rules a little. Society's so vanilla and boring, right? 🙄"
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/02/21 04:06 PM

I remember my abusive ex sending me a long message TWO YEARS after he ghosted me saying how sorry he was. How he wanted to apologise for all his cruelty and give himself "peace of mind". So thankful my stronger willed sister hovered over me like a hawk and made me compose a glib, disinterested message instead of the sweet reply my naive pickme self would have liked to send. I didn't have FDS back then. Now I know the correct response is block & delete for my peace of mind.

This is handbook material. Today I've felt defeated by how hard everything feels, how long it might take me to get to where I need to be and your words of wisdom have restored my faith. Sometimes making the right choices feels hard and there's a period of struggle before success. The key is to have faith in the choices you make. Does life feel hard because you're choosing to stay in and swot up for an exam/learn a language/save for a beautiful home or does it feel hard because you're staying in …

This is great! I don't see the point in caring what other subs are doing/saying. To me it feels like gossiping and a waste of energy that could better be spent levelling up. I just realised that the supported, safe and respected feeling I get here at FDS is how I want to feel in all my friendships and relationships. On the journey to self-worth it's wild how one negative comment/backhanded compliment can throw me off but I've yet to see one comment here that deviates from FDS principles. Thank you mods for shielding us from scrotery so we can focus on levelling up!

Maybe I've reached peak cynicism when it comes to men but I find these kind of videos have ulterior motives to score woke points. Toxic masculinity and its harmful effect on men is a man-made problem. They can deal with it. I have better things to think about.

I completely agree. I used to feel bad about earning more so wouldn't even do 50/50 - it'd be 70/30!! What a 🤡

Great list! Advice for younger me: • Trust your gut. Stick to your standards. If he can't keep his space clean and tidy now he won't magically do it when you move in • Don't feel pressured to move in/compromise on personal space • Never support a man financially • Just because he can't see your worth doesn't mean you're worthless • You're not spoiled goods because he took special moments from you without love or care

Thank you mods 🙏🏻🖤 I've never seen a troublesome comment or trolls here - testament to your ruthless vetting in all areas! I really do feel like the wee level-upper in the meme, small but feisty 😂

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
