Advice on how to get through the emotional pain.If you go to a surgeon, he'll want to cut. You're in a sub for divorce in which everyone will likely be ready to give immediate advice about cutting loose. If she's crying and is expressing needs/desires, I agree there's a chance. However, leaning in is not the right move. I'd explain to her that you've heard her, that you want an opportunity to see if you can give her what she needs. I'd set a boundary with her and say, 'you know, I think I've lost sight of what I want and need from you too'. T… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/12/23 04:20 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upWell stated. Thanks | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 01:34 AM
| -2 | Why aren’t more men standing upYou seem to be getting frustrated by the inquiry judging by your tone and the downvotes. I'm trying to learn and didn't mean any offense. I was genuinely curious about where you were coming from. Thanks for the conversation. | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:50 AM |
Why aren’t more men standing upI understand. I'm trying to pinpoint where your belief comes from. Is it remnant of American history then? What period specifically seemed most ideal to you? | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:45 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upOutside of North America, meaning not pointing to American/Canadian history. | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:36 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upOther than North America, is there a country, socio-economic system, religion, etc that you think have better created reality without being biased toward feminism? | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:31 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upIs there another part of the world, other cultures, which you can refer to that have successfully created a non-feminism-based system of equality? | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:30 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upAre there other parts of the world, other cultures ... outside of the US, to which you can point to illustrate the success of such a system? | /r/MensRights | 01/06/23 12:29 AM
Why aren’t more men standing upWhat is the result of a non-feminist upbringing? | /r/MensRights | 31/05/23 01:55 PM
How are unvested RSUs handled (California, if it matters)? The ways in which you get screwed are negotiable. I would use this argument to take them off the table. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/01/23 07:04 PM
How are unvested RSUs handled (California, if it matters)?Unvested means unearned. Unvested shares shouldn't be included as they won't be 'earned' until after divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/01/23 07:00 PM
My wife was caught engaging in emotional infidelity and yet I can’t pull the trigger on a divorce. I feel trapped. Would love some advice. Not going to be a popular opinion here, but your other option is to believe her and continue to work on it. You said she'd been struggling for years, likely with her own self-image and self-worth. What if this one encounter was enough to 1) boost her ego, and 2) solidify her feelings for you? It's not clear how you found out - did she come clean to you voluntarily? I'm not a fan of the idea of emotional infidelity. I believe it was created as a legal tool to, ironically, hold men to an even high… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/22 06:23 PM
SeparationYou don't have to live apart or separate finances. There's merely a 60 day waiting period before the divorce can be finalized by a judge. This 60 day waiting period is precisely so that you DON'T act too quickly to separate and call things off. It gives you a potential chance to reconcile or at least to square your affairs slowly and carefully. The judge will explain responsibilities in the administrative hearing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/05/22 12:27 PM
HELP!!!Hard truth ahead ... it never goes away. You'll have to leave, she won't have memories of you ever living with her, she may blame you or be told to blame you (for anything and possibly everything), you'll have to deal with future partners/husbands and that means another male in your role as dad, you may not have access or control over things she does, your values as a parent won't be effectively reinforced, etc etc etc... Some questions to consider: do you value these things over your own happin… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/04/22 02:57 PM
Cooking for YourselfExactly, tupperware/pyrex is my best friend in the kitchen these days. Goodwill is a gold mine. Make the family size and portion it out for the freezer. Microwave or toaster oven to reheat quickly. My favorites that reheat well: enchiladas, chili/stews, pulled pork or any smoked meats, lasagna/manicotti, chicken tikka masala, and homemade Chick-fil-A style chicken nugs. Meats in particular can be cooked in bulk and used in small portions to make other dishes easily. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/04/22 05:39 PM
Can’t do this anymoreI just saw your before and after pics, amazing!!!!! I'm in tech, too, and just finalized my divorce. I'm really lonely and weigh more than ever before. Could you share how you did it and help me do the same? I could really use some motivation and I'd be up for a periodic Zoom call if you are. Hang in there ... I've been there and know the feelings. If you hang around, something good will happen. I'm sure of it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/22 03:41 PM
Wife (30F) was living off my work and money, now she gets a comission and dumps me (33M) - Ungrateful Wife wants divorce now she has more money."I can't believe her words..." You should! Restart with a new business and move on. You did it once, so do it again! Good luck!!! | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/03/22 11:59 PM
Feeling like a failure after divorceA caterpillar walks slowly across a branch where he's made his home. The branch gives him support, cover, and nourishment. A butterfly lands near the caterpillar and they exchange pleasantries. The butterfly tells the caterpillar about a secret branch on the tree which he had yet to explore. Surprised, the caterpillar asks "how did you find it?" The butterfly says, "I once looked like you. I was a caterpillar not long ago. A friendly butterfly shared this secret with me. And now it's my turn to … | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/03/22 08:26 PM
Advice for our kids?I think you're right about the inputs informing the output. My inputs were very loose and varied. My output is loose and varied. I genuinely don't have answers, only more questions. If our boys are scientists, do we tell them to investigate? What does that make our daughters? I love my daughter but also recognize that another man may consider her the cancer in his future experiment in life. I have conflicting feelings about my wife in a similar sort of way. She caused pain which is allowing me t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/03/22 02:26 PM
Being begged not to divorceYou're being manipulated. I think you already know what you need to do. Good luck bro. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/03/22 01:51 AM
