I had to drop a best friend because she refuses to leave a really toxic situation with her on again off again bf. It’s been three years of her saying she’ll leave. It’s clear she just loves the drama and being a victim. I can’t relate with her anymore. It sucks but it’s been a huge weight off my shoulders since I was basically her last friend

Shanique is amazing! She was so strong with her boundaries and making men stfu while she was speaking I had a lot of respect for how she handled herself besides being on a show like that in the first place

I just had to drop a friend because she’s been in an emotionally abusive relationship for three years and it’s all we talk about. I spent an entire night (until sunrise) talking and crying with her and she finally made the decision she was going to leave him. Jk. We spoke a few weeks later and they are “working things out” I just can’t do it anymore. And frankly I’ve lost a lot of respect for her. She isn’t the same person and I just can’t watch someone I love continue to make bad choices. It su…

I really, seriously, cannot comprehend, why men connect jerking off and porn like they are completely intertwined. Bros, no one is saying you can’t masturbate lmfao they’re saying they aren’t ok with you watching other women have sex! Like why should anyone be ok with that in a committed relationship?? Porn isn’t “a fantasy” it’s LITERALLY REALITY VIDEOTAPED. Read some fanfiction if you really have no imagination I just don’t get it. There’s no need to watch other people have sex to get off and …

I have a friend like this. She’s been in an emotionally (possibly physically) abusive relationship for three years and the worst part is she knows it. Every time we see each other we talk about his bullshit and she says she’s going to leave him blah blah blah but always “works things out. He recently broke up with her but they’re still living together (she is actively looking for a new place thank god) and she recently had a meltdown about how they’re trying to work things out. Because she loves…

If you can see a female doctor PLEASE DO. And for the love of god don’t go to perverted male obgyns. I only see female doctors after being sexually assaulted by a male obgyn and have not had one bad experience. Obviously women can be shitty everyone is human but at least I don’t have to be worried about an extra layer or creepiness on top of incompetency. I have nothing against male doctors I have several in my family who I love but it’s just not worth the risk as a woman.

My last two exes cheated on me with their “best friend” who they would “never date” because they “don’t see them like that.” Well as soon as the girls were single “things changed” and “we just want to give it a real shot.” Won’t be fooled again that’s for sure

I’ve said this word for word. I was exposed to bdsm in middle school through twilight fanfiction (lmfaooo I know I know) and it really skewed what I thought sex was. I’m really disappointed that society pushed “sex positivity” at the expense of my mental wellbeing

Yes exactly this. With things like pole dancing you can say you’re “reclaiming” it all you want but the people it benefits the most are men because you’re normalizing sexualized performance. The male gaze is internal, too. If the pole dancers weren’t wearing the stripper heels and lingerie I’d agree that it’s more just fitness/dance (like the silks your friend does), but they aren’t wearing normal stuff they’re wearing stripper attire so it’s clearly for the male gaze.

I’m going to get myself in trouble one day because if that happened to me I’d tell him to get the fuck away from me and that I’m calling the police. I see myself in this post and I don’t like it lol. But all of this is very true. I had the exact same experience as a kid and same age. I thought I was into bdsm but since I found FDS my view now is that violence against women is ALWAYS wrong. Violence in general is. Why is it ok to hit and hurt women only when she’s naked? So fucked up.

My university gynecologist, the only obgyn available, sexually assaulted hundreds of women over a 20 year period. It was a pretty big story and happened a few years ago. Top 20 school. I was one of his patients, but I had a bad vibe after seeing him a second time and never went back (always trust your gut!) I'm never having sex again unless I'm in a relationship so they're in for a rough time lol I know drinks aren't a real date but at the moment it's what I'm comfortable with. I haven't really "dated" before, just ended up in relationships with my guy friends (lolllll) so it's just a lot less pressure for me. But for a second date? It's dinner or I'm not coming. I did grab lunch with a guy two days ago and it went well! Going to try to do that more and more daytime dates in general.

I strongly believe that and it's a big reason why I did it :) if you want to manifest something you have to act as if you already have it. I know a good match for me is out there

I feel like it’s a pretty simple concept a lot of guys don’t understand. If you’re asking someone out, you have to plan the date. You’re the one inviting someone to do something. Bizarre how they then think it’s our job when it wasn’t even our idea

I do. I have for my entire life. I definitely enjoy being alone but I do feel a really deep desire for a romantic partner. I don’t know if that’s wrong but I do know I won’t get that if I keep wasting my time with guys who don’t meet my standards. Like, I’m way too good for every guy I’ve ever met. Wtf that’s crazy! How could someone think that’s ok. Imagine if a friend did that New rule I have is if they don’t confirm a date early in the day that they invited me on I’m not going to show up lol. Takes 30 seconds to send a text saying “still on for tonight?” Or just make any indication at all that they didn’t forget and are interested. Like dude, you’re the one who asked me out don’t make me text to make sure you’re still coming

I forgot to add he never said sorry once! And yea I agree. I think it could be excused once, but twice in a row? For a first date?! That’s supposed to be when you’re on your best behavior. I was sexually assaulted by the only gynecologist at my college health center. He assaulted hundreds of women of 20 years and the school tried to cover it up. I will never see a male dr again because of this. I get flashbacks even if it’s not a gynecologist. I have a team of amazing female doctors and couldn’t be happier. Very spot on and I agree about performative femininity. Even though I enjoy being “feminine” clearly makeup isn’t a natural female trait. It’s hard to tell what comes naturally and what is socialization. I wont get into more details since you’re right this isn’t the place but I do consider myself radfem (after being pretty vocally libfem in my early 20s). Genuine question that I want to discuss in the context of FDS and feminism in general- is wanting to look hot always about catering to the male gaze? Is that heteronormative? I’m sure there are levels of complexity I’m not touching on but sometimes I like looking sexy because it makes me feel good and it’s definitely not just for men (but maybe it is and I’m just unaware?). Like, should we be rejecting sexiness as a concept in general as being patriarchal and objectifying or can things like make…

Wow she just perfectly put into words what my friends and I have been talking about recently. Why did sexual empowerment mean acting like a man…? Truthfully I feel a bit betrayed by the women (and obviously men) who sold me this bullshit as a teenager. I went against my instincts for sooo long to be a “cool girl”. Now at 26 I’m finally doing what I want, not what men want.

All I have to say is I’ve been feeling the exact.same.way recently. To the point where I’ve been saying I’m never having sex again (in a joking manner but you get the gist). It just does not interest me to have sex with someone unless they’re exactly what I’m looking for. My vibrator is enough thank you very much. I used to put a man’s feelings above my own and it’s never, EVER worked out for me. Now I don’t give one fuck. I feel free for the first time.

I was thinking today how the internet has been such a blessing and a curse for women. We finally have a place to connect and talk about how things really are while in the past all of our information about being a women was from magazines and television made by men! Just wanted to say I’m going through the exact same thing. Going on dates, even if they go well, just brings up the emotional connection I lost. You’re waaaaaay to into him after only one date and guys can pick up on that energy. Doesn’t matter how affectionate he was (hand holding date date one? Kind of a lot), guys are massive hypocrites in that sense and will still judge you for being too interested even if you’re just matching his energy. You need to take several steps back and definitely stop reaching out first. Let him come to you.

Is calling someone "mom" supposed to be an insult? I'm not surprised you can't back up what you say. You don't like FDS because it doesn't cater to your laziness and general disdain for women. Women, ideally speaking, want commitment, safety, and security. But sure keep convincing yourself a we want a guy with a sports car. Women were (and are) able to mobilize and start a movement. How about a little effort instead of whining. Women were socialized to be servants and baby incubators for thousands of years. We weren't even allowed to vote until 100 years ago. Ya'll need to get your shit together and stop blaming everyone and everything for problems you created.

Ok then fix your culture. Women did. It's not women's responsibility to fix all of men's problems.

Women who are providers and contributing to household income are still expected to be in charge of household management and childcare while the man's responsibility's haven't changed at all (except to not be sole providers). I doubt you'd do the cooking, cleaning, scheduling, and childcare if your wife was the solve provider given that a gf was too much work and interfered with your gaming lmfao. Marrying a financially unstable man doubles the amount of work a woman is expected to do by default.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
