Love this thread! I have also been doing the same and looking for films that aren’t all about romance and getting a man! Think some of these have already been said but here is my list that I’ve watched recently: Hidden Figures - about black women working for NASA during the space race and fighting to achieve recognition for their contribution The Help - about the treatment of black maids in the southern US states. Absolutely love this!!! Also to add... if you invest time into your job, working hard and making sure you meet all the company’s high expectations, you get rewarded with a nice bonus, pay rise, promotion, etc. Similarly if your man invests his time & positive energy into the relationship with you, he will be rewarded in return. But if he doesn’t work hard to meet your standards, he doesn’t get that pay rise 👋🏼

I’ve found that guys that do certain jobs particularly sales roles/estate agents where they have to effectively lie (or at least not be 100% honest) in their work lives to sell things to customers. Everyday at work they mentally justify that it’s okay to tell white lies, bending the truth to tell the customer what they want to hear, and this carries over to their personal lives too.

Firstly, well done for recognising this and choosing to take action on being strong & not going back to an unhealthy relationship. Massive step forwards! You gotta find something else to occupy your mind & keep you busy so you’re not thinking about him. Pick up a new hobby - sport, knitting, learning a language, learning coding - literally anything to keep you busy so you focus on him less. Expand your support network - find a sports team/meet up group/etc and try make some new friends. Try bumb…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
