I spent ten years with my ex, never giving up on us, trying everything I could to make it work. But he never came through to me, he never grew up, he never cleaned his room, he never stopped verbally abusing me, I put up with it until he monkey branched to someone else. NOW he’s getting his shit together. NOW he’s trying to be a better friend, a better boyfriend, a better person — he took all my help and support and then leveled up with someone else. So now I’m a 35yo woman who will probably end…

I developed a spark for someone eight years after I met him. A series of interactions that led me to realize how eerily compatible we are, random thoughts of him popping into my head, and then BAM. Spark ignited on my end. It caused me to see him completely differently almost overnight. It was crazy to experience such a profound shift in my perception of something in such a short amount of time.

I think it’s more mature for a man to be able to say “we don’t always get what we want” and working through and past those feelings of unrequited attraction. It’s kind of gross to me for a man who likes a woman enough TO WANT TO DATE HER but not enough that he doesn’t even want a friendship if she doesn’t reciprocate. Honestly, as a woman that mentality scares me. The thought that I could date someone who only sees value in what I can offer him sexually, and not my value as a true friend. It’s t…

This must be why I am able to stay friends with my exes lol. Friendship is priceless to me, so gaining a new friend in your ex after realizing you’re just fundamentally incompatible with them is a true blessing. Twice now I’ve spent years and years with someone, trying goddamn everything I could to make a relationship work, but finally calling it. And being able to remain friends with them. First boyfriend was 7 years, most recent ex I was with for 10. I don’t understand why most people aren’t a…

Idk man, I think it’s equally difficult for men and women to date and find lasting love, it’s just that the ways in which they are difficult tend to be so different. To the point where if you don’t have close platonic friends or family of the opposite sex to talk to about these things and to learn from, you will struggle to understand that EVERYONE struggles, regardless of sex. With every aspect of being a human, not just dating. It’s gonna be hard for someone to learn that BOTH men and women st…

Yeah, I guess you could say that I’m in a “situationship” (of ten years!) because while I love the guy I’m seeing and many things about our time together, we fight wayyy too much for people who only spend the weekends together. If we lived together, we would hate each other. We are not fully compatible and have found that living separately and having limits on the amount of time we spend together works for us. I love him so much, but I’m starting to realize that maybe our arrangement isn’t going…

It’s not always easy to put into words. Often it’s how a man moves through the world, his unique and specific mannerisms, his energy, how you feel when you’re with him. What you believe you’re making him feel about you. So often it’s so specific, unique, and individual to a particular man that it takes time to really pinpoint. I think attraction works this way for men too, don’t get me wrong. But I think men are more apt to cite the surface level stuff because they don’t realize that there is mu…

We are great communicators. Men tend to struggle more with subtlety though, which is sometimes required on the woman’s part to avoid a man feeling offended and harshly rejected. So we try to soften the blow to be kind, and that’s a problem too. So often we can’t win. My solution as a woman is to be very assertive, direct, but gentle about it. It’s a balancing act. Not every woman is going to have the energy or the motivation to figure out how to authentically strike that balance for herself

I like things that look aesthetically beautiful to me, including art, interior decor/design, I have an obsession with lava lamps and other type of decorative lighting, I love looking at nature, especially trees and the night sky. I just enjoy any and all visually aesthetic things in life, because I find life to be a wonderful visual feast. None of this is sexual to me. When it comes to makeup, I do enjoy wearing it, especially eye makeup. This is because I enjoy looking periodically looking in t…

It’s how someone is looking. The eyes are an incredible tool of communication and we can register subtle subconscious details in how someone is looking at you. A man gazing at a woman he finds attractive can be done in a respectful way if he is literally surveying her as a human being first and foremost, it’s perceptibly different than when the gaze is objectifying and dehumanizing. Things like length of the look, how wide or narrow the eyes are, how piercing, whether the man is smiling, how he’…

It’s really unfortunate for those men to place so much emphasis on sex because if they stopped prioritizing it so heavily, they could form genuine platonic bonds with women and get their emotional needs met through friendship. And then they would have practice socializing with women on a human level, leading to meeting other women with dating potential through their female friends. They get in their own way by placing sex above all other concerns, and essentially ensure they will go without it b…

Yeah exactly. I have many reasons why I do not want to have biological children, but I have in the back of my mind the thought that if I wanted to raise children someday I would adopt or become a foster parent. There are multiple ways to become a parent, ways that aren’t limited by a woman’s biological clock.

That belief of yours is a result of what kind of person you are, not what kind of people women in general are. I absolutely care about a man’s character, as well as the character of my friends, my family, my coworkers, and myself. I don’t fuck with people who lack integrity, I have high standards of the people I am close to. And so do the people I’m close to… hence why they’re the people I’m close to, and not other people (like the kind you describe). You attract things into your life based on w…

I’m not worried. They can try to stop women from waking up, but it’s global now. Change is coming. Every day I put more and more energy toward finding connection and kinship with the women in my lives, I’m doing my part, just gotta get to the 100th monkey. Progress isn’t linear and it can’t be stopped, so we just have to keep faith and keep moving forward.

The trick is… to start by thinking more positive thoughts about other people. How you feel about yourself is ultimately the same as how you feel about other people. They’re two sides of the exact same coin. So if you’re struggling with thinking positively about yourself, then turn your thoughts outward. Find things to admire and value in the people around you. Hell, even just thinking positive thoughts about anything and as often as you can. Make it into an unconscious habit by consciously doing…

Your comment makes me think about why I find the whole red pill thing to be so insidious. A person high in self-esteem who knows their value would never put up with someone treating them like this, so these kind of mind games only work on the vulnerable. People who utilize red pill strategies like “dread game” and “negging” and such are ultimately predators looking for prey. They are users looking to take advantage of someone weaker than them in some way, to exploit that person to get something …

Yes exactly! I had many female friends over the years that have left their male partners in large part due to recurring bouts of anger. It’s so incredibly draining and honestly most of the time it doesn’t get better. Male anger and rage doesn’t get discussed nearly enough despite it being an incredibly common problem… and probably plays a part in many failed relationships!
/r/ExRedPill05/07/22 04:14 PM

How is the man treating the women during this time? Many men are unable to deal with their primary emotions in a healthy way, so they use the more socially acceptable second emotion — anger — as a means to let their feelings out. Dealing with a partner’s high levels of anger (and sometimes rage!) can become really unbearable for a lot of women, we eventually reach the limit of what we can take and make the hard choice to leave.

I live in the Midwest and I see hotter guys with subjectively less attractive women ALL THE TIME. And vice versa. At least where I live, proximity and common interests seem to trump “looks matching.” I see a lot of long term relationships where the couple glows up together, or the uglier partner gets hotter while their partner stays the same or gets uglier, etc. I like where I live because people seem to date each other based on more than just looks🤷‍♀️

Like if he would have IMMEDIATELY apologized profusely and begged forgiveness, while ALSO clearing up the false implication that his mother still felt that way about her, and spent the entire rest of that night sharing his true feeling of gratitude, respect, and deep love for her, it could have easily been forgiven as a momentary lapse of self-control. So you rejected women who initiated their divorces? May I ask why? Because I’m imagining many women who initiate their divorces being fed up of being mistreated, being emotionally neglected, being sick of their husbands not contributing to the household chores or childcare or financially. And if I were a man, I’d want to date a woman who was strong enough to go through the immense effort, pain, trauma, and cost of a divorce because she wanted better for herself🤷‍♀️

Here’s a good mental exercise: pretend that every shitty trait you attribute to women at large has a MALE equivalent. Try to figure out how those same underlying traits would manifest if they were coming from a man instead of a woman. To do this, try to understand the thoughts and beliefs underpinning these shitty behaviors — that’s where you will find true understanding. That’s what will allow you to see that women aren’t better or worse than men, they’re just as good, and just as bad — and any…

You nailed it in essentially very few words. People constantly turning this into a men vs. women debate instead of a simple “this just how people be” discussion is so tired, and FRANKLY more shallow than any of the ways in which either sex is accused at large of being. It’s a shallow argument, usually made by correspondingly shallow people. Sorry OP…just how I see it.

Dude. I used to think I’d be alone forever because — in my mind — no guys liked me. Or some did, but I didn’t like them back. And well, the guys I WERE interested in weren’t interested in me! So I believed I’d be alone forever. Well in my mid-twenties I met someone who ended up being perfect for me and we are still together a decade later. And I laugh now because I realize…you just need to find one special person. Who cares if you’re having trouble finding “someone.” You’re not trying to find so…

That’s true. I do have some insecurities about my appearance, but I refuse to allow myself to indulge them. I’ve put a lot of work into valuing what I consider more important things and I think that energy causes me to attract people who don’t care much about the wall either. Which reinforces my ability to not care about the wall… and back around again. My protection as a woman against the wall is 1) I make my own money and invest in my career. 2) No kids. Not worth it! My time, energy, money, all for me and whoever I choose to share it with. A child FORCES you to always give of yourself, you can’t just decide not to. The only relationship imo that is true about! 3) Nurture lifelong true friendships with truly good, ethical people. 4) Date only men who pursue me based on my other good qualities and not just my appearance (which is important but…

Your “picker” is off. That thing that attracts you to some women and not others, it’s out of whack. Why are you only dating women like that? I see this with some guys, and they have so many similarities between them. They keep dating the same kind of woman and then complain about ALL women, completely ignoring their own responsibility for their individual choices. Don’t like the women you’ve been dating? Dating different kinds of women.

He can choose to not have sex with a woman who is pro choice. The men’s choice begins and ends with sex, and that’s perfectly fair. Women bear the burden of the risk of getting pregnant, and all of the consequences of that. If a man doesn’t want to risk a woman aborting a pregnancy he contributed to, then he should opt not to have sex with her.

So far I’ve told two women that they were being cheated on. Both times, girlfriends of MINE had no clue these men were already in a relationship. It was interesting to see the parallels between the two women who I reached out to (I messaged each of them myself on FB because neither of my girlfriends had one). Old comment, but this isn’t entirely true. A man will still love and desire a woman even over the long term IF SHE CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINS HIGH STANDARDS without deviation, without question, without negotiation. Expectations of him — and everyone in her life, for that matter — are high and remain consistently so for years and years. A man respects a woman who respects herself, and won’t put up with any disrespect, from anyone. That’s it. That’s all it takes. Assuming the man in question has chara…

Right? I’m not anyone’s mom. If you don’t willingly keep yourself clean on your own then BYE. I don’t even want to give a man a chance to fix it, if you don’t know you smell that’s already a huge problem. Needing someone to tell you that you stink shows you don’t have the ability to adult or consider other people. I ended a friendship with a friend (woman) over her body odor, it was truly noxious. And she knew it (one of our early hangouts, her mom calls to make Thanksgiving plans and at the end…

The guy I’m seeing says he’s not a feminist because he can’t be — he’s not a woman. But that he supports women as an ally. I appreciate that so much more than these supposedly enlightened liberal “male feminists,” it’s all performative with them. Just regurgitating what they think makes them sound like a good person, instead of actually being one. You dodged a bullet in getting away from that creep.

I agree 100%, but I don’t think the solution is to discourage or restrict the discussion of certain topics (like jaw posture, for example) but to instead encourage more conversations about other topics like the things you listed. Always better to add than to take away. Provide alternatives rather than restrict choices and options.

I am not shy about mentioning menstruation with men in my life. One time at a work a male coworker asked how I was doing and I said I wasn’t feeling that great. He asked why and I told him I had cramps, immediately he was like “TMI!!” and I said “is it really though?” and after thinking about it for a second he conceded that no, it wasn’t. I would never be like “I’m gushing blood!” but mentioning cramps is no different than sharing I have a headache or back pain. In my mind, bringing up my perio…

I love vaccines — rabies, tetanus, amazing marvels of modern science, saved many lives and I’m grateful they exist. I don’t know about this vaccine. We don’t know if it causes infertility, what it might to do women’s reproductive health in the future, months even years after taking it. WE DON’T KNOW YET and can’t know yet because it hasn’t been studied long term yet. The fact that the medical establishment already doesn’t care about women’s health is in the back of my mind when I think about the…

Women as a whole just need to refuse to entertain these scrotes entirely. Personally I’ve structured my life so that I only give my TIME ENERGY and ATTENTION to men who show me respect 100% of the time. My boyfriend, my male best friend, my male family members, even my bosses and coworkers at work. Everyone knows to treat me with respect and I’ll reciprocate, if you don’t I won’t fuck with you. I combine this with being genuinely kind, compassionate, and present to women indiscriminately and sel…

My relationship transformed as soon as I stopped accepting even a hint of mistreatment. Not even a tiny bit. Various expectations I’ve set with myself and my boyfriend: The only acceptable reason for a man I’m with to not watch porn is because it’s wrong, unethical, and because he doesn’t want to contribute to the exploitation of women. NOT simply because I don’t want him to. Also, this is not a democracy, you treat me how I want and deserve to be treated 100% of the time or I’ll surgically cut …

When I was in high school I met my first real boyfriend and we slept together the first time we hung out. We ended up dating for seven years, and broke up eight years ago. In those eight years after ending our romantic relationship, we’ve become best friends, true lifelong “til’-we-die” friends. His parents are like my second parents. His brothers are like my brothers, and we are pretty much family now. I always use my experience as evidence for how RARE it is for a real relationship to form bet…

I always picture myself and my male best friend in posts about situations like this. My best friend and I are as close as two friends could possibly be, and I can’t fathom ever having the kind of dynamic or arrangement that the OP’s boyfriend has with his woman friend. Never ever! Super inappropriate boundaries.., I couldn’t imagine just showing up to my best friend’s house unannounced, let alone not immediately leaving if I did and found him in bed with a woman he’s seeing. That’s about 23%, seems to be normal from some of the other comments on the thread. Kids are expensive folks, don’t have them if you don’t want to pay. Men’s options are: 1) don’t have sex. 2) If you do and don’t want kids, make sure the women you’re sleeping with also doesn’t want kids (so any accidental pregnancy —> abortion). 3) if you can’t ensure 1 or 2, then get a vasectomy and wear condoms. Otherwise you get what you get🤷🏼‍♀️

These are exactly the things I’ve experienced with my SO the entire time we have been dating, seven years. We’ve been through ups and downs and his generosity is a big reason why I stayed early on when I had some very good reasons to leave. Yeah I’m sorry but I don’t buy the majority of those stories I hear about men being taken advantage of. I’m sure it’s possible, but is it likely? How likely is it? Is it common? No. The average man has vastly superior strength to the average woman, it would have to be a truly diabolical woman who got a man drunk enough to where he literally couldn’t move, yet somehow his dick still works. So simple, so true. Men need to EARN our time energy and attention by providing value to our lives. If we don’t expect anything from them, if we don’t require them to prove their value before giving away of ourselves, then why would they value us in return? A relationship will only work if the man 1000% wants to be in it and will do whatever it takes to make his woman happy, and if he does it won’t feel like work. He will be grateful for the opportunity to make an amazing woman feel appreciated and valued, that’s when men are the happiest tbh. When they know they’re earning something instead of just being handed something they don’t deserve! I will never date a man who doesn’t adore me completely, absolutely, beyond any doubt.

A man needs to prove he will be appreciative of any gift I give him, and that means I don’t start gifting (and I’m an amazing gifter) until waaayyy into a relationship. The man I’m seeing now 1) spends a lot more money on me 2) gifts me random things frequently, and 3) expresses A LOT of appreciation for gifts I give him. If you’re interested, grab a copy of the Psychedelic Explorer’s Guide. Set, setting, trip sitter, appropriate amounts, reagent test your substance first — the majority of “bad trips” that end up destabilizing people are people who take them carelessly, not having any idea of the effects, doing them for the wrong reasons, escapism. I’ve never heard of anyone having a bad trip when they planned ahead and took it seriously, as a spiritual tool instead of a recreational escape. Psychedelics should b…

I was honestly afraid to really comment on Reddit before finding that big feminist sub that got banned not too long ago, you know the one 😝. Anyway I remember being anxious after writing my first comment there, afraid I was going to get flamed or attacked (as was often the case when commenting in other subs). To my surprise it got tons of upvotes and genuine, thoughtful replies! It was so unlike the rest of this site and its users that I was just blown away. I’ve never had a single lady on that …

Reminds me of the time I went to a party with my ex-boyfriend some years back, at his best friends house. I had had a few drinks and thought it was a good idea to hit the joint being passed around — I don’t smoke weed — and I got super sick and spinny. Instead of my boyfriend taking me home he made me wait in the car for him FOR HOURS while he partied and did drugs. I should have dumped his ass the next day. Never again!

I don’t think this is always true — but to find a man who falls in love with a woman like we fall in love with men is admittedly extremely rare. Those types of men are incredibly rare. But it’s possible. And personally I’m not setting for anything less than a total connection — spiritual, emotional, physical, sexual, mental, and psychological. Girl I have a coworker who is in her mid-forties and she met an amazing HV man this year. It’s a logical answer to the question. Men can’t give birth, it’s just a fact. Whereas women can do all the stereotypically “masculine” things — lift things, build things, kill things. We can do everything any human can do, men can’t do everything that humans can do. Only women can. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yep and ugly to mildly unattractive men are prolly more likely to have insecurities and/or body issues while attractive men might be more likely to be narcissistic. All men, regardless of appearance, are susceptible to low value traits and behaviors, but perhaps they manifest differently depending on where one ranks. I don’t see any correlation between value and appearance, LVM come in all shapes and sizes — inverse is also true for HVM. Now maybe unattractive men are more likely to masquerade a…

PREACH. I don’t believe women should be chasing men because as a woman myself, I need to be chased over a period of time so that I can find out if he’s truly interested in me and wants something serious and meaningful, or if he’s just looking to bang. In a society and world less hostile to women, without porn and the male gaze and objectification of women, it would be awesome if I could “chase” a man too, but sadly it doesn’t work in our current world. “Single should be our default” YES. I have been thinking about this a lot lately — partnering up is honestly giving up your freedom and autonomy and if you’re gonna do it the man better be worth it. You only want to partner with someone who is worth sacrificing for, least of all because if you’re taken by someone unworthy you are highly unlikely to meet a man who’s worth giving up being single for long term. But most of all, because your relationship with yourself has got to be your #1 priority.…

The silver living of porn is that it is one of the earliest and easiest ways to determine if a man is shit or not. That it’s so socially acceptable means if you ask neutrally his stance on porn early he is likely to tell you — and then you can bow out as soon as you can (without telling him of course — wouldn’t want to ruin this “tell” for other ladies in the future!). God that’s horrifying. I guess the silver lining of Covid is that it’s put a pause on the porn industry, as far as filming new stuff anyway. Every time I think of the porn industry I get so enraged that it even exists. It’s so CLEARLY misogynistic and exploitive of women yet has so many supporters still. The porn industry is why Reddit got rid of women’s subs. I can’t WAIT for the tides to change and the masses wake up to how evil it is, that day will come eventually.

I’ve changed my entire thinking on this. It’s about whether you value yourself or not — a person who values themselves (knows their own worth) isn’t going to let someone “in” without earning it. You let someone get to know you incrementally as they prove themselves. We should all see ourselves as someone another person would be lucky to have as a friend, a partner, family member, coworker - in our lives in any capacity. Because we invest in improving ourselves, in learning growing and overcoming…

I had a couple female coworkers I worked closely with, back to back (I work in a two-person department) and the first one was super reactive and took everything personally. I felt I had to walk on eggshells and do everything in my power to avoid upsetting her and hurting her feelings. In interactions with her I felt responsible for all of her defensive and negative reactions. If there was a problem I assumed it was me. No matter how hard I tried to “manag…

I’m really lucky in that I don’t want children. But I do often feel like I might end up not finding a “love of my life” lifetime soulmate that I’ve high key always wanted. I’ve made making peace with that a high priority in my life, and as the months and years pass since I’ve decided that is important to my health and happiness, it’s getting easier. I view it as an interesting challenge. I do get lonely, but luckily I have some amazing, loyal friends and loving family. In some ways, I wonder if …

First of all, he’s an asshole. Even if you had more mutual chemistry and he was head over heels for you, eventually that wouldn’t be enough — he’s still an asshole and a LVM. That will be true for him until he grows and evolves and builds his character. Meeting a woman he’s crazy for won’t change that. He’s gotta be compelled to do it from within, and it’s honestly a lot more likely a person does that kind of self-work when they’re on their own versus in a relationship. I’ve too realized that yo…

Shit I am grateful for the fact that I’m a reformed “pick me/cool girl” because it helped me developed a deep compassion both for myself and others. I’ve been through hell and back with my self esteem and my confidence, I couldn’t imagine having become the person I am today any other way. I forgave myself, and now I treat myself well, I’m kind, and this all applies to other people too because I know what it’s like to feel shitty about yourself, to lack self worth. I go above and beyond trying to…

Some people can change...but it requires something really shocking their system and forcing a major perceptual shift in their life. A major life event or some source of personal suffering that loosens whatever ideas or beliefs they’ve developed about themselves, other people, the world. Some people aren’t capable of that if they’re too selfish, if they’re too ignorant. At a base level they must go INTO the processing of integrating the lessons of whatever shook up their life with some basic foun…

I think these kinds of responses could definitely work in the short term, with some men — but are they necessary in the first place, if your ultimate goal is a committed relationship with a HVM? It seems like in a lot of these examples you’re responding to examples of LVM behavior, so that’s why a lot of my responses involve not responding at all and just moving on. So much of dating with FDS involves weeding out low quality men who aren’t worth ANY of your time, regardless of what HVM-like thin…

This...wow. None of this is FDS behavior. These could be straight out a Pickme’s text messages. I wasn’t going to go through these and point out why I feel this way, but fuck it haha. This approach you’re taking is the very kind that attracts LVM and repels HVM. You have to be willing to set up boundaries, you have to assume the man is capable and intelligent enough for your actions to speak for themselves. You don’t explain to a man why he should be treating you right, why he should be doing A,…

Yeah it’s low value for your non-tattooed wife to know how attractive you find tattoos (or women who have tattoos), or any other characteristic that other women have that your wife doesn’t. Actually, a high value man wouldn’t be talking about other women this way, or women in general. HVM would compliment their partner for specific qualities of hers that he is attracted to, and that would be as far as it goes, I think.

Yeah I think if she was genuinely excited to get a tattoo for HERSELF, told him about it and went and did it, he would probably find it hot. But to be surprised by your wife changing her whole look including PERMANENT TATTOOS OF RANDOM THINGS (a dream catcher? Really?) just to please him, I can see why that would be borderline repulsive. A huge turnoff at minimum. Especially if you consider that here at FDS we know that even if they think they do, men don’t really like Pickme pleaser women, (hea…

Exactly. A woman’s worth isn’t in her appearance, and these posts reinforce that illusion.

Get into radical feminism, seriously. It’s helped me stop putting any man on a pedestal and realize how BS over-valuing shallow shit like appearance really is. I work on my inner self constantly, treat my body and my mind right. They’re what’s really important and you don’t need anyone outside of you to reflect your value. It’s there, you just have to learn how to see it for yourself. No one else can do that for you, especially not men!

Same, I’m 5’0” and prefer shorter guys. Only ever dated 5’10” and up though, attractive shorter guys always seem to go for taller women for some reason.

Eh I have a male best friend and we are platonic, we just happen to have the same interests and grew up together. He’s good friends with the guy I’ve been seeing for 6+ years. Male and female best friends are very rare though, I give you that. Sharing a credit card is incredibly bizarre and a flashing red flag that something isn’t right.

My best friend is a man, and we are also exes. We dated from my late teens to early twenties, for about seven years. I’m now in my early thirties. We’ve been broken up longer than we’ve dated. I’ve been seeing someone else from the past handful years, and they’ve also become friends. The initial transition from dating to friends was a little rocky, but that’s mostly because there was other difficult stuff going on unrelated to our relationship (addiction, etc). After a few months of being broken…

I resonate with this so hard! I have insecurities I struggle with, but I’ve learned to stop denigrating myself around others, not just people I’m dating but everyone. I don’t want to reinforce the idea that anyone should be harsh with themselves, and it starts with how I treat myself. It’s only when I’m kind to myself that I can be truly kind to others, it’s a feedback loop that goes both ways. And when I’m kind to myself when in the company of other people, then they might be motivated to be ki…

Yes!!! I’ve come to this realization myself lately. The things I’ve disliked about myself, that I used as excuses for not believing I deserved good things or good people in my life — my crooked teeth, my knobby knees, being skinny, etc, it hit me how shallow and wrong that thinking was. For one thing, it’s the inside that counts. Beauty is skin deep, and believing that appearance was in any way associated with value or worth is reinforcing the worst aspects of our often empty, narcissistic cultu…

I believe this fully and completely, which leads me to the obvious conclusion that if I want to find someone to spend the rest of my life with, it will have to be with a childfree man. I am (working on being) completely fine with remaining single the rest of my life if that’s how things shake out, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to find a partner. But the point I’m working toward is being not just content but completely happy remaining single, then if I do meet someone amazing it’ll be …

From my own life experiences — if you find yourself developing intense feelings/crushes you can’t seem to eliminate, it’s a sign that you lack self love. If you truly love and value yourself highly, your mind will automatically modulate the intensity of crushes. Crushes are sparked and maintained by fantasizing — fantasies about how great the man you like is, how wonderful it would be to be in love with him, etc. Instead, your internal dialogue should be about YOU. Developing yourself, becoming …

Some people don’t understand how dopamine works, with them you can’t reason. Fact is that humans are primed for dopamine, everything that gives a hit of dopamine (both endogenous and exogenous sources) can become addictive. Pornography is an especially potent source because of how strong the male sex drive is during puberty. Develop a porn habit then, over subsequent years of use what was a habit easily grows into an addiction that becomes very hard to break. Not ALL men, but many of them. You t…

It IS possible to be sex positive and porn negative lol. Pornography-induced masturbation is not sex. For many, many men, it’s increasingly becoming an impediment to sex. A habit that grows throughout their adolescence to young adulthood, that they either temper or eliminate by getting into a healthy sexual relationship (or less healthy routine of casual sex with little emotional intimacy) OR they give up on dating and just take care of their sexual drive through more porn and masturbation. OR t…

I agree with that. Women’s bodies are literally the vehicle by which new life comes into existence, and that power transcends sexuality. To limit women’s bodies to sexual desire, to fetishize them, is really disturbing to me.

I am a woman and am most certainly not turned on by thinking about myself as a woman. That’s weird and creepy. I don’t think many — or any — woman objectify themselves like this.
