She just doesn’t love me anymore. She has cited a number of reasons from not spending enough quality time together to not being there enough for her when her mum passed away last year???? I tried to get her to see a counsellor but she wouldn’t. When I tried to talk to her about her mum she didn’t want to. I think she made her mind up a long time ago and grieved our marriage long before she even told me. My boy is doing ok at the moment, but we will see if that changes over the coming weeks, once…

Thanks for the message. I’m from the UK but have close family in the USA. I’ve just planned a two week trip to visit them next summer with my son. My cousin hasn’t met my son and she is already excited and making plans. Best wishes and good luck to you 👍🏻

I haven’t placed once single wager in 8 weeks. Gambling is not a problem.

My job. I commute to London and leave early and am home late. Financially I need to keep it to make everything work. I wish I could have him 100% of the time.

No chance twice bitten now. I was with my second partner for 15 years and thought it was for life. How wrong could I be.

She says that she used to love me but I have become boring and there is nothing left to work on. I guess I took her for granted and thought that she would always be there. How wrong I was. She says she tried to tell me, but to be honest we never sat down and spoke of any problems. I was just blinkered. Her mum passed away just over a year ago and she has a new vision on life. I know it’s over but I love her so much (and she knows that!!!!)

This is so similar to my story. Yes I wasn’t the perfect husband and I neglected the little things like date nights and romance, I’ve never cheated and worked hard for the family. Six weeks ago the person who I thought was my best friend told me she no longer loves me. She had already moved on and has filed for divorce. We have an 8 year old son and everything is on her terms. We are still living under the same roof but after 15 years we’re like strangers. I no it’s wrong to, but I have been tel…

No I will see my son everyThursday and have him every other weekend. Just not the same as seeing him every day.

Feel for you my friend. I’m going through an enormous amount of pain myself. It is a month today that my wife told me she no longer loves me and has already filed for divorce. There is no reconciliation even though I still love her. We have an 8 year old son. We have been together for 15 years (married nearly 9). I have always worked hard so we had a nice home etc but it just wasn’t enough. Although we still live under the same roof it is like we are strangers. She had no emotion as I’m sure she…

Thanks everyone for the wise words. My mind plays havoc thinking she has someone else (not sure whether she has or hasn’t to be honest). However today I have discovered that she has over £13k of debt. She spends money like there’s no tomorrow and spends way beyond her means. I think this could be another reason why she wants to “cash in her chips”. Pay debts off and start a fresh, well good luck to her. I just hope that if in the future she does want a reconciliation I am strong enough to say “n…

We had the house valued today we will both walk away with £80k each ($100000). House prices are expensive in the UK. I’m going to look for a nice modern 2 bed apartment, so my son has his own room. I really don’t want this as I have tried to give her the best, but she just doesn’t love me anymore. Just got to get on with everything!!

There’s no abuse. In fact we’re amicable most of the time. I can’t have my son full time because of my job and the hours I work. The solicitor said the ball is very much in her court (UK law). I may have to move out and pay for house till my son is 18. At the moment she is agreeable to a 50/50 split with me paying additional child support, which I can live with.

My head is totally messed up. Have seen lawyer already. Because of the disparity in earnings she has the upper had. She earns £19k pa. I earn £64k plus bonuses.

You are still young. I’m 45 this September and my wife (39 yrs old) told me 3 weeks ago that she no longer loves me and has already filed. We’ve been together for 15 years (married nearly 9). I’m heartbroken, but life goes on. Start to find yourself again. You will always be a dad to your kids. I have an 8 year old boy and this is the hardest part for me. Be strong 💪🏻

Keep your head up. Your kids will always be your kids. I’m just starting the divorce process from my wife, she told me just over 3 weeks ago she no longer loves me and has already filed. We’re still living in the family home with our 8 year old son and her 18 year old daughter from previous marriage. I’m trying to be strong but I too know she will have someone in her life soon as she too is a pretty girl. I’m 44 and my STBXW is 39. I too am not looking forward to the day she tells me that there …

My STBXW told me 3 weeks ago that she wanted a divorce. I am in a position where my wife says it is amicable and we will split the house 50/50 and I will pay around £450pcm for my son who is 8 years old. The problem is that I have always been the greater earner around three and a half times her salary. I will have my son every Thursday night and every other weekend and holidays. I don’t want to break up, but my STBXW insists that she no longer has an emotional or physical attraction for me. She …

I’m in a similar position. The wife told me 2 weeks ago she no longer loves me and wants a divorce. No counselling, she is just not interested in maintaining our relationship of 15 years (8 1/2 years married). We have an 8 year old boy who I’m trying to spend as much time with as possible. We are amicable at the moment but it is tough as she is constantly going out and leaving me home alone with my crazy thoughts and insecurities. The plan is I buy her out and we have talked money and access tha…

Thanks for the advice. I work out regularly. I used to weigh 228lbs, I’m now 162lbs. I can’t win one minute I’m too fat, the next I look too scrawny. I just can’t win. She knows I still love her but to be honest it’s diminishing on a daily basis. I will be strong and smart as I need this over with ASAP for the sake of my sanity.

Just to add to my previous posts I believe that is someone else involved now. Either way she stayed out last night and I sure she was with someone. She certainly doesn’t let the grass grow.

Having a bad day today guys. She is out both Friday and Saturday night with her girlfriends and all sorts of thoughts are running through my head right now. The only bonus is that I’m home with my boy

Lawyers are already involved. Hoping if no issues with what we’ve agreed. I could be divorced before Christmas 🤞🏻

Thanks mate. I really need to hear this. Admittedly I did a lot wrong during our marriage (getting on the beer, sports betting etc), but nothing life changing. She says I neglected the romance in our relationship and that she had fallen out of love with me and can’t rekindle any feelings. Her mum died last year and that hasn’t helped the whole situation, as I think she really doesn’t know who she is right now. Either way I just got to keep strong and hold my head up even though I’m destroyed ins…

I just want it to end and her move on. My feelings for her run deep (after 15 years). She seems to not have a care in the World. I just want to move on but these things take time. I’m not moving out as I don’t want to jeopardise my position. I know I’ll be alright in the long run as I’m made of sterner stuff, but it hurts like hell right at this moment in time.

Just wanna keep the peace. Financially what we’ve agreed I’m comfortable with and don’t want that to change. It’s hard living under the same roof, but wanna spend as much tome with my 8 year old son before I become a “part time dad”.

I’m so glad I read your post tonight. I have been feeling really down since my STBX told me she no longer loves me 10 days ago. TBH I have to shoulder a large apportion of the blame, spending time in my man cave drinking beer. She was out yesterday, tonight and had plans for Friday and Saturday. I have been praying to get back together, but tonight I have seen the light. BTW I’m at home with my son playing Sonic. So with the person who matters in my life now. Going to take him out tomorrow with …

Still avoiding the vices. Wife will soon have new guy I’m sure, she has plans for tonight, Friday and Saturday. TBH I’m past caring. I get to stay at home with my No. 1 priority “my son”. Playing sonic the hedgehog tonight 😂😂

Another day has passed. Still avoiding the vices. The wife and I are very amicable and are even discussing financial matters and arrangement for my boy. I accepted I’ve lost her, but we are determined to remain good friends for the sake of our child. Good luck to all of you who are facing a similar horrible situation 👍🏻

I’m in the same boat man. Been with my partner for 15 years (married nearly 9), we have an 8 year old child. I took my eye off the ball watching sports, drinking beer in my man cave. She fell out of love with me and now that can’t be rekindled. We are amicable but heading for divorce. I’m buying her out so she can start a fresh. TBH most of this is my fault and I accept it, but it doesn’t change the way I feel. Stay strong 💪🏻

Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments I have steered clear of both evils for the past 9 days and feel a lot better in myself. My wife has made it clear we have no future and this is something I have to deal with. I’ve had an appointment with a behavioural therapist who has set me some ground rules to avoid a reoccurrence in my future. I appreciate my wrongs and am now making the necessary adjustments for my son. BTW the gambling didn’t result in extensive losses, the drinking and neglecting my …
