unless you're going in as an officer prestige and pay for enlisted isn't all that great. the military work conditions and life are pretty grueling. military spouses have the highest infidelity rates. also with the reserve activation clause even if your enlistment expired they can still recall you after xyz amount of time if an emergency arises.
