yes. the point is that most people think of meditation as this thing you do in a calm environment in nature or your room. It doesn't have to be. You can do it anywhere, and if you can figure out how to do that, it's a really powerful tool to tame your mind. Our greatest enemy often isn't in our environment, it's within -- our mindset.

Any Yoga, Taichi, and Meditation will teach this at the beginner level -- it's at the core of each of those arts. Just make sure you get a good teacher. Some people just teach the movements(or body positions for yoga) and that's bullshit.
/r/seduction04/07/11 06:36 PM

lmao. I just rewatched that scene. You're absolutely right. This kind of breathing is common in martial arts and yoga. The waxing Mr. Miyagi is teaching -- it's moving mediation.

best time to do it. Breathe->Clear your mind->Feel Good-> Realize the reasons you're having a bad day are stupid and arbitrary and brush that dirt off your shoulder.

There is absolutely no culture of strangers talking to each other casually like there is in Western cultures. It just doesn't happen, except to ask for directions or things like that. One other thing is that a lot of Chinese cities have con men on the streets, as well as thieves, etc. Especially by doing cold approaches alone, you may come across that way(especially if you look asian)

There's two possibilities - one is that you simply don't have enough experience. I'm an only child who moved growing up. I had similar issues simply from not spending enough time with other people. I've been improving a lot the last few years by getting out there and interacting with tons of people. The other possibility is that you're mildly autistic. I have a friend who is like this and I try hard, but it is hard to get along with him sometimes. If this is the case I think you should find othe…

I'm surprised you get girls at all. Whenever I get a new phone or gadget I just end up getting opened by guys. Oh and your first instinct is right -- whatever you do do not go into technical detail.

well sometimes touching hair is because they want to touch their hair, and sometimes touching hair is because they like you. Best way to find out? approach them.

Most of these aren't directly seduction related, but many contribute to being the alpha male in the room or at least inner game.

First of all congrats on busting through the AA. Next time try to analyze it less and approach faster. Does anyone have advice for continuing with sets in which they are just not interested in talking to, for practice? yeah, don't do it. You need to be congruent and one of the most basic steps in doing that is talking to people you actually want to talk to. If you want practice try talking to everyone in your daily life who actually seems worth talking to. Give them a compliment or ask for direc…

Just to address your points It's called a "lair," which is super creepy Well it's not supposed to be family friendly now is it? I'm early 30s, and I'm not sure if there will be people near my age There are. I'm in my twenties and I'm usually one of the younger people in the lairs i've been to. Plenty of 30, 40 year olds I don't aspire to live the "rockstar lifestyle" that many in the community want (I'd be OK if I never went to another club in my life) A lot of lair members i know are in relatio…

I have similar issues when i'm working. I have a "work" mode and a "social" mode, and it's hard for me to be social in work mode. Im more of the "one woman with substance" at a time man I think that you can turn this into a positive. Instead of just ignoring chicks who may actually be very cool, why don't you try using this to qualify the cute girls who are coming up to you, like the classic "You're pretty cute but there's a lot of cute chicks here tonight. What makes you special?"

he doesn't seem sexy to me either, but neither do a lot of other pickup artists. However, as a guy who is in his own head too much and ends up getting self conscious, his message totally speaks to me. As a nerd, a lot of pickup advice is "do this" or "try this line or routine" and feels weird when i do it, but tyler gives us a logical mental model(he's very meta) to satisfy our overly analytical minds so we can be congruent in the field instead of awkward and self conscious social robots.

well, you sort of have a pretty good auto-filtering system here with the people who visit reddit. Although i think reddit might naturally bias towards keyboard jockeys a bit compared to a regular lair. One thing that my local lair does to keep out the riff raff is a closed membership system where members have to be approved through a questionaire. It's worked pretty well so far, all of the lair members i've met are decent, non-creepy people. Also, the up/downvote system on reddit causes creepine…

reduce it or stop it as much as you can, on a mental level it makes you think about real women a lot more which can't hurt. When i don't jerk it, I get boners more often while gaming. When I'm with a girl I'm thinking about how she can get me off. whereas if i'm jerking it there's sort of a laziness mentality that i don't need a girl to get me off. I don't think it's a game changer but for me it helps.

I asked her if she's a "top" or "bottom" when she holds hands with guys (like how a couple's hands are oriented) I told her that with some of my girlfriends I was a bottom but lately I've only been a top. We "practiced" holding hands as though we were a couple. She interrupts me to say there was a hookah bar nearby and we should go smoke. Shit is gold. i gotta try this.

he opens like a machine, but he doesn't hook as well as he should, and his d2's are bad(i was there for one of them) He often forgets to do kino. He has inner game issues. He doesn't escalate. He doesn't hold eye contact. He has bad posture and body language. His logistics are shit because he lives in a smaller town. I think the key to all this is his inner game. Just some more thoughts on this tangent to PUA When you see someone who is great at something -- let's take fitness as an example: A really fit guy doesn't kill himself at a gym for 5 hours at a gym 1 hour away from his house everyday. He doesn't go on crash diets every month or just eat celery and crackers. A really fit guy does smart, efficient workouts at a gym that's convenient to him. His workouts are exercises he finds fun, and he eats foods he likes which happen to also be healthy. He's b…

it's really romantic and powerful. Have you heard of buying temperature? When a woman is really emotional even if it is in a not exactly sexual way, she can easily turn that emotional turbulence into sexual passion if you steer the way with some kino. My ex tried to jump my ass during the opening scene of Up for the same reason -- it was so emotionally powerful she somehow got horny as fuck. Same thing happened with a different girl when we watched the Dark Knight. Basically any heart wrenching …

I think you're taking "not give a fuck" too literally. there is a difference between a bearded, slovenly hobo on the street not giving a fuck -- lost in his own boozed worlde, and a master pua who makes sure to look, feel, and act his best, but his state is outcome-independent. The PUA grooms himself and works on his posture and body language for his own good because he cares about himself. He gives a fuck about himself because he knows hes man of value. The not giving a fuck part is when he int…

Yeah maybe just ask people in the cafeteria or on the way to the cafeteria, or girls sitting by themselves like ilurkokcupid mentioned. You get a better success rate and come off less awkward initially. I think the project is a good idea in general though.

Sadly, this actually works to some extent. Asian guys' biggest enemy, besides themselves, is america's protroyal of them as nerdy ass pussies. If you can present yourself in a way that clearly distances yourself from that stereotype it makes approaches easier both internally and externally. Doesn't have to be trying to be a "ghetto asian" but a lot of guys i know went that route.

I did some googling and skate shoes that the rest of the population will appreciate actually do exist. Go for low tops, simple styles and colors. Here are some grown up sneakers with classic styling that you can skate with.. some of the simpler, low vans work alright too.

in before a million other sedditors say it: Talk to everyone you can(and kino them if it's not innapropriate) It's good for warming up, it's good for calibrating so you don't come off as a creep when you do a real approach, it's good for learning to make small talk, it's good training in general.

wait wait wait. You're mixing up rapport and demonstrating value. I can see why you would do that but they really are separate concepts DHV is showing people you're awesome, whereas Rapport is when you build a connection with someone else -- Oh you're from Ohio? I went there for colelge! blah blah blah. You can DHV all you want but unless there is rapport guys wont give a shit about you and girls wont feel any connection to you.

/r/seduction17/03/11 03:12 AM

There is definitely some truth in that, but I've also had good friends who just took things in stride. I changed, they realized i changed, and they adapted. In a strong and healthy friendship, you and your friend accept and like each other as a whole person, not just one aspect of your personality.

I think he thinks that way because it's a coping mechanism to reinforce his soberness. He can't think in the regular way we do that drinking is not a big deal, he has to demonize it and thus demonize you, the fellow drinker or else he will lapse back into alcoholism. Also, your post really makes me question the true value of AA.

As human beings we like to nail down other people as a certain stereotype e.g. jersey shore douche, laid back surfer dude, etc. Everybody has different aspects of themselves they show to different people, and sometimes they really are completely different. For instance, there is a guy at my climbing gym who was totally cool the first time i met him, but the second time we met, he saw me talking to a girl he liked, and he immediately transformed into a Grade A douchebag.
/r/seduction08/03/11 01:25 AM

I disagree about talking heads. It's good to hear people tell a story, and see how they speak, their intonation and pace and body language. One of the biggest lessons in pickup is that how you say it is as important as what you say, so i think if done right some really useful feedback can be given to the field reporter.
/r/seduction06/03/11 10:24 AM

Not quite sure i understand -- are you talking about a girl who has friendzoned you, or that you should put that girl in the friendzone?(How do guys even do that?)
/r/seduction06/03/11 08:33 AM

it is overglorified-- that's the whole reason being alpha kicks ass. The TED guy is probably right -- The 1st and 2nd follower are crucial to the movement, but it's the original, half naked guy flailing his limbs about that everyone thinks is awesome.
/r/seduction06/03/11 08:10 AM

wow, that's brilliant. I'm usually the nut in the video -- the guy out on a limb. for me the lesson was that I need to nurture the first followers as equals not treat them as just followers.

A week ago, I watch American Gigolo and saw in the reviews a woman giddily mention that Richard Gere turned her on just by the way he walked. So that day instead of walking at a New York pace like I usually do, I paid attention to my posture and walked at a smooth pace with a steady gaze and deliberately, with a bit of a strut. I got a lot more positive eye contact from more women then usual. Things like this aren't things you usually think about when you think of pickup, but they do work.

Cook what you're good at. One caveat is you shouldn't cook asian food for an asian woman unless you seriously know what you're doing. Same for any ethnicity really. There's no way I would make pasta for an italian woman etc.

White skin is considered attractive on women in Asia, but men have some leeway here. It's a bit hard to explain over the internet but part of the reason why is in East Asians, pale skin usually corresponds with good complexions. It's a different effect from the really pasty white caucasion with veins showing, etc.

Find something in your environment that makes you smile and focus on it. When I walk, I notice dogs, kids having fun, and happy old people. Kind of random I know, but these things make me smile. At school I laugh at jokes, (even if it's how cheesy the joke is), when stupid shit happens or when people are being silly. Not only is your smile real this way, but by smiling at things in your environment you appreciate everyday life more and you end up having a better mood, which leads to smiling more…

It matters. 2 things that seem to help, though: If you make a big first impression -- your race does NOT matter. The girl focuses on you as a person since you just showed her who you are instead of letting stereotypes fill in the blanks. One small trick I saw a pretty decent PUA use was after some attraction is built, to ask "have you ever dated an [fill in your race]" to get them thinking about you romantically and sexually.
