The minute most men find out I’m an attorney, they ask for free legal advice then get upset when I tell them how much a consultation costs.

I’m a lawyer and I support this message.

So proud of you. I could have written this myself. I’d been seeing a guy for a month and everything was going so well. All of a sudden, his effort begins to diminish. I felt so proud of myself when I calmly told him that we needed to part ways.

I bought my 4br, 3 bath house 2.5 years ago. It’s just me and my two dogs. I LOVE all the space and the huge backyard.

I don’t have a relationship with my sorry excuse for a father or anyone on his side of the family. For the longest time I considered changing my name to my mom’s (she kept her maiden name). I ultimately decided to keep it and create a new legacy for that name. I have a professional degree, and the name on it is all mine.

I lost my teens and early-mid twenties to low self-esteem, self harm, and older men who used me for my body. It wasn't till I was 28 that I felt like my life was finally getting under control. Now that I'm in my early 30s, I truly feel like my life is taking off.

I agree. I play video games. I grew up playing video games with my brother. Now, I may buy one game a year and play for a couple hours here and there when I have absolutely nothing else to do. I enjoy it, but it’s always on the back burner. Caveat: I regularly play Just Dance. It’s fun and a great workout.

I could’ve written this myself. I successfully completed KickHimOut2020 early in the year by ending things with my LVM of 2 years. I then turned to the catalog, and it has been a cesspool. I’m deleting all my OLD profiles. I’m committed to having an unburdened 2021 where men are an afterthought.

Thank you! He wasn’t excessive or over the top with his behavior or anything he said. He didn’t lavish me with excessive attention or affection, but it was just slightly more than was necessary. It was enough to be an orange flag, but not a full on red flag.

Women who are held captive don’t qualify as “choosing to continue to stay with a man who treats you poorly”. That’s rather obvious. I’m trying to point out you conflating “choice” and “captive”.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/09/20 10:50 PM
27

OP’s post is specifically about choosing better partners and choosing to continue to stay with a man who treats you poorly. So no, you taking the post and my statement out of context by way of an extreme example is not productive. You knew very well that this was not about women who are physically held captive.

Met a guy OLD and we exchanged numbers a couple days before Christmas. After that initial conversation, he waited 4 days to contact me again, which was a late “Merry Christmas” text on Christmas Day. He then texts me early the next day and we exchange a few messages over a few hours. Another couple days go by with no contact. We exchange a few messages on Saturday, then another 4 days of nothing. He then proceeds to match with me on another dating app and attempts to have a conversation there de…

Unfortunately, there’s some truth to the jokes. I promise we’re not all like that. The good ones routinely discuss how the bad ones gives us all a bad rep. Yes, we will fight like hell for our clients because we’re paid to do it, but the majority don’t do it without considering our conscience and morals. The majority of the bad apples are men, which is why I advocate hard for more women to enter the legal field.

For HIV tests I’ll have the guy go to CVS/Walgreens/RiteAid and spend $50 on one of the at home HIV tests. Then he takes it in front of me. Results in 20 mins. This of course isn’t foolproof because it can take weeks for the virus to become detectable after transmission, but the test plus 100% use of condoms gives me some peace of mind. I’ll then ask him to test again in a couple months. I’ve never had a guy ask me to get tested, yet they always want to get it raw. Blows my mind.

There is nothing inherently wrong with competition or being adversarial. I’m an attorney. I fight for my clients. Sometimes I have to be a bitch for the sake of my clients. Sometimes I have to appear overly confident for the sake of my clients. I want to destroy the other side because that’s what I was hired to do. I love it. The key when dating an attorney is to find one who understands that it’s just a job and leaves all of that at work. As with any profession that creates a sense of power, yo…

I agree with negging. In my situation he said, “I know you’re introverted, but it doesn’t seem like you’re enjoying yourself.” Now I am introverted, but introverts thrive on more one on one interactions, and I can be fun and charming even on bad dates. I asked him how dates with an extrovert go and he listed off a couple things. My immediate thought was that he was negging to make me self-conscious and to get me to act overly into him. I guess I wasn’t gushing over him at the end of the date, so…

I’m in a similar situation. I went to dinner with a guy last week. From my perspective the date went well. At the end of the date, and even once during, he made a comment about how he wasn’t sure if I was enjoying myself. Afterwards, he asked me on a second date, which I agreed to. He initiated texts for the next two days. I kept the texting brief, but also fun and flirty. I haven’t heard from him in 3 days. I refuse to initiate contact first, so he is SOL.

The guys who are serious ask me out within 2 days of matching. If more than 2 days passes without a concrete plan to meet, I delete him.

I matched with a guy who had a picture of him and his dog, and I made a comment about how cute the dog was. He told me that the dog was dead but he figured that the picture would help him get matches. WTF. I noped right on out.

I’m 31 and also seriously considering using a sperm donor. I’m open to adoption as well. Either way, I know it’s highly likely that I’ll be a single mother. Accepting that has taken the stress out of dating because I know I’ll be fine regardless of whether a HVM comes along.

It could be a self-esteem issue for the woman, wishful thinking that the guy will eventually change, or a belief that negative attention is better than no attention.

Shared religion is important to me in a long term partner. I'm a practicing Christian, but I'm turned off by overly religious people. I wouldn't seriously get involved with an Atheist, and there are even some denominations of Christianity that I won't date.

I had an English teacher my senior year who I despised. He just gave me bad vibes. After I graduated, he was fired for having sex with another senior. The school let him go and he moved to another state. He got a job in a middle school. He went to prison for having sex with one of his 12 year old students.

I agree that with all change comes both positive and unforeseen negative consequences. Yes, the over abundance of porn and the depiction of violent sex, and degrading sex acts is terrible, but I still wouldn’t choose to go back to how it was before. This is basically the premise of The Handmaids Tale.

I’m an attorney. I had a particularly difficult male client going through a divorce. From the way he talked about his wife, it was clear that he had issues with women. He would routinely ignore the legal advice I gave him, argue with me about it, then go to my male boss to complain. My boss would then provide the exact same advice I’d already given him. However, hearing it explained by someone with a penis suddenly made him understand. The final straw was when he called me by my first name inste…
