I'm glad someone else sees this pattern, it's been driving me nuts. Had first dates with the guy, went well, agreed second dare, then the slow fade. Luckily for me even pre FDS, I get bored easily and just ended up blocking them after a day or two. Sadly due to anxiety, I felt bad and thought I must be doing something wrong (mid 30s here) So while I'm not glad other women have experienced this it's good to know I'm not alone

If she is really mental ill he is basically having casual unprotected sex with a vulnerable women. Smacks of the men who sleep with escorts while showing the world he's a family man Be proud you dodged a huge bullet

I'm a women with kids that chooses not to date men with kids because I don't wish to be a stepmother - I was once told on a sub Reddit to go fuck myself People have told me many times that I should date men with kids, with the tone 'can't be choosy' I've only dated men with our kids since my divorce, never found a shortage tbf. I'm not looking to live with a man or share finances I kept my life with my children separate. I also won't date a guy who always works weekends as I have weekends free! …

Haha yes I think it was like guy 1'' oh he looked upset' - he wasn't at all, but it was the way he was like better not upset guy 1. Out of the two of them guy 1 us closer to having high value traits - sadly not there, but closer than guy 2 He certainly didn't check on how I was feeling, just told me off! Well attempted, I told him I'll say what I like, if guy 2 doesn't like it then he doesn't have to hang out with me

This was in context to me having a conversation with a male friend/acquaintance about welfare. We had opposing views but we're debating the issue. The next day my other male friend who was there said that I should no longer discuss that topic as it looked like it touched a nerve with friend 1. (Friend 1 nor I are on welfare, I was taking the more liberal view while he took the conversative one) I was pissed at friend 2 for trying to mute me and I told him. I felt he challenged me because he felt…

Well done! I relate to everything you say here. For years I was on anti depressant but after starting therapy and stopped dating LVM, I found I was actually no longer despondent or stressed or low or felt worthless I stopped taking them Nov 2020 and haven't looked back. There's that quote, before you get diagnosed with depression check you aren't surrounded by assholes - very true for friends and family as well

Actually with that scene, she clearly is uncomfortable and does it back, they then try to make it an awww factor by getting them to do it during their wedding. There's also a scene later when he writes her a song and hides it in her songbook and says " I hid it there so you'd find it when you got back to being yourself " A dig at the fact she's now a huge star in her own right.

When I was reading about it and his involvement, I did wonder why he didn't adjust the narrative Yes it's a remake, and I'm sure it's familiar to many celeb couples but whats the message... Don't be successful in case your husband kills himself

I watched a star is born last night (the lady gaga one) and though of course alcoholism is a disease - in the movie he always went out of his way to get fucked up when she got famous and got a Grammy etc Even when he wasn't that drunk he said she was embarrassing herself and that she was ugly. Yet she stood by him. The movie was praised for its take on alcoholism yet to me Bradley's character was manipulative, jealous and controlling. This movie had been remade a number of times and Bradley was …

Congratulations! And stay strong What out for the ' you've overreacted, I only said no to one thing' 'Ok I'll go with you' 'Time apart has showed me how much I love you - lets move in, get married etc' Any hint toward self harm or suicide. These men won't wanna lose a good thing and start to bring out the showstoppers (shame its a recycled script!) If you can block everywhere, it'll help you to stay focused and move forward

The 'darkness' for some men is just an excuse not to evolve. They get to act the same, be goalless, sitting for hours on their computers in their bedrooms and the world pass them by. They'll find pickmeishas, (I was one myself) who loves the broodiness (moody) stoic (couldn't give a fuck) Peter Pan nature. Lots of sex later, then dump them due to 'darkness' etc etc. Like many women here, I've deal with anxiety depression, codependency, insecure attachment disorder and still lived a life. Women a…

You see it in other subreddits all the time, guy meets girl once and then tracks her down on social media and messages her... Like wtf.. It's still stalkish behavior. If a women doesn't initiate interest she isn't interested, why do they want women who aren't interested.. Delusional. I think it's relying on women being too shy, nervous or polite to say fuck off - it's predatory behavior. Any kind of female interaction bar family or women they deem ugly is potentially a love or sexual interest.

For those of us we Co-habitated with LVM, know being alone is so much better. When I was married I use to stay longer at work just so I didn't have to deal with the negative energy, the arguments because he couldn't pick up after himself etc. My house is a sanctuary now; no negative energies allowed thank you. I have children and have no interest in living with a man again (they are pre teens) For the men I know in my age group (mid 30s) their lives level up in relationships; they literally surv…

One I've heard quite a lot is "go dancing to find women" I assume they mean dance lessons, but what I waste of the instructors time to teach you LVM to dance so they can find women. I do a lot of meet ups as well, every group has a story about a 'creepy guy' who attended showing he wanted to date. Male users had been banned for contacting women privately and making them uncomfortable. From various women's experiences these men range from 20-60+ In age. There are at least 2 women only groups in m…

Most men in my age bracket that I date in (35-45) are gamers, for many thats all they do. Many would love a woman who games as a partner, but I was talking to a female gamer recently and she says she gets lots of abuse from men when she beats them. So women can game with men, as a date option, but cannot be better than them at it. Sounds about right.

I had been on long term anti depressants for years and believed the anxiety, low moods and feeling unworthy were just a part of that. I'm in therapy now and ran out, I waited for the crash withdrawal it never came - I have taken them for 3 months now Understanding my attachment style and codependant nature I realized my biggest issue was the despair in being with these incompatible LVM Since being in therapy and being single, I realised that a huge part of my poor mental health was due to be exh…

It's a horrible message that these men give, I'll fuck you, may even grab dinner with you on my terms and no doubt dump emotional crap on you but you're not good enough to call my girlfriend. Of course if a woman hasn't experienced FDA or is struggling with her MH health, so she internalised this into she must be a horrible person, unworthy of love and respect. I'm lucky (and it is just luck) that I haven't experienced guys asking this of me... Even as a person with codependent traits I would st…

Horny is their word, just as, frigid is. Women with high sex drives, or just enjoy casual sex, want I imagine good looking men who are confident and know what they are doing in bed - I know I would. Women like that would never settle for a man like this and he knows it. The majority of women wouldn't sleep with a Netflix and chill guy - but the minority are spoken about all the time, but often struggle with low self esteem, unresolved trauma, personality disorders, lack awareness that they can s…

Please don't say that. If you think that the way a douchbag from a dating site treats you is the only way, it's time for a break, maybe some self help, I say this with total kindness. I don't know about you, but I'm in my mid 30s and only even had one man who actually cared if I had a Orgasms, and wasnt always bothered. What I mean is, for most of us sex is unfulfilling, so this guy literally wants to use you to cum in for a $4 coffee. Fuck that shit. You're an amazing capable intelligent woman,…

Men like the chase I think. They are fed 'treat them mean keep them keen' from birth I've had legit 5/10 looking guys not ask me out. Our area means all bars/ restaurants/cafes are, closed so I've put a hold on dating. I wouldn't go to a guys house or invite him to mine anyway it's a safety issue for me. You'd think they'd have the same issue with safety, but they know that danger comes from men. It might feel shit OLD often does, it's not you at all its them. Low effort is right, most men don't…

Wow you're honest with what you want and you can berated for it. I have children, but don't want anymore and wouldn't date anyone with children. I'd never dream of messaging a man who said he didn't want to date a single parent - it's choice his life. I'm in the UK too, I was told by a female when I was young not to disclose anything to interviewers whilst I was child bearing age. She said that interviewers try to get around this by asking about biggest achievements, hoping you might say marriage, having children etc. I think women also need to be careful posting public pictures of weddings, children etc it will be used against them.

Their relationship with their parents e.g. do they call their mum everytime a decision needs to be made, are they constantly seeking their parents love and it overshadows everything. If they're entwined with their parents they won't change Also how much free time do they have. I work Monday- Friday office hours so someone who works evening and weekends won't work. Don't forget these women also say 'I'm Cumming' every time after the guy basically does zero foreplay. I dated a guy once, who after lasting 7-8 minutes asked did I come.. I actually laughes, but truth was he had no idea what a female orgasm was like. Yes I carrying on dating him... I hope my earlier comments were seen as tongue in cheek and people reading weren't too offended. The men I know are single for a number of reasons; primarily just a disconnection with interacting with actual women. For those of you that read R/niceguys, it's men who are like - women are goldiggers - women don't want men like me -women want bad boys Etc etc etc That disassociation leads to men searching for female connections in other ways - porn, only fans, escorts, trips to Amsterdam These wome…

That's a different angle though, you were struggling with your weight and self esteem I was talking about men who want thin, blonde porn star looking women, they would not even look at other women, plus can we way over sexualized when talking to women, so that's a turn off. I hope you don't let weight be a barrier for yourself, I'm not a thin woman either and know lots of women who date and may be classed as overweight. A guy who sees weight as a barrier is a dick. I've never understood their train of though. In any relationship you have to have something to offer but even so... Beautiful people tend to end up with beautiful people. It's definitely a porn thing, men see these women as accessible, easier now I guess if porn stars or models have only fans. So they hold some fantasy that this is the standard of women they want Not only are they often not independent, this type of guy has never had a girlfriend; in my peer group I know a few men who have never…

I prefer a first coffee date... Purely because if he's not what he seemed it's easier to leave. I'm getting there, but don't think I'd have the courage to walk away from a dinner yet - unless it was a terrible date . If he turned out to be a bland guy ATM I'd probably just get through it. I definitely wouldn't have pick me up or anything, but that's a safety issue, plus again I wouldn't want random dues knowing where I live

For a lot of women, me included, there were so many underlying issues . - literally the majority of men around growing up were LVM. They just pretty much lived with women, worked, drank with friends and repeat. Then there were the absentee fathers and the emotionally and physically abusive ones. - Im 34 so grew up binge watching 90s/00 rom coms and teen magazines - all about 'getting a guy' Men were (still are!) I'm genuinely sad to read this OP. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 34, 2 children, saggy boobs, stretch marks the works. I'm currently overweight, but meh I'm me. I like dressing up for myself when I'm in the mood, but I wear a lot of sweats too, i have fallen in love with gel nails though! Haha reminds me of my Ex alas who is 35 and lives at home. I think these types of men like to build these 'dark' no one gets me personas to hide their lack of personality. I've lived away from home since I was 21, now a self reliant lone mother So many of these guys would know how to pay bills, shop, look after a home. They pretty much watch porn and masturbate... I clearly dated too many (ex pickmeisa here) Women 'don't get them' we do we're just not fucking interested 😂

I think unless you are lucky enough to find a HVM, then the option is to settle, which many women do. After 4 failed long term relationships where I gave my everything; settling and constant compromise ( on my part) was exhausting... And all that effort they all either left at the first sign of difficulty or cheated. Being alone can be... Well lonely, I'm single again now too. But it's better than being there for men who wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

By mentally putting dating on the back burner, you can focus on what you want and build that confidence. It sounds like you have so many amazing things in your life you just need to be able to self validate. Society has us believed since the uterus, that we will fall in love and get married. Currently there is no strong narrative where women, work, have a house and car and just thoroughly enjoy their lives. But there are plenty out there. You might find if you are sociable, some LVM men and wome…
