Dudes watch all this media where the average/below average guy with nothing to offer and a painfully boring personality gets the accomplished, young, model tier woman and then get pissed off at women when that isn't reality. It's not our fault they think Hollywood/video games is real life.

Also, women deserve to be attracted to their spouses too. It's bullshit that men don't need to put in any effort into their appearance because women are expected to look past appearances and only be attracted to personality. That completely disregards our sexualities, and if we were going to base our sexuality off of personality only, why would we pick men?

I worked as a tester for two of the biggest video games company and so many men there were just openly misogynistic.. after one basically hazed me for weeks, told me his team didn’t like me because of my nationality, put porn on my computer when I stepped away for a minute, I reported him to HR and he nearly lost his job. Not only are they often not independent, this type of guy has never had a girlfriend; in my peer group I know a few men who have never had a girlfriend and they're 30-35.

Man, I lowkey fit this category just enough that random men will really just fetishize my existence and expect me to roll over to them. I like anime, I play video games, and yeah I’m hot, but I am not a mom or a therapist or wasting my time on these losers! It’s like a woman can’t enjoy things that a man enjoys without it being, somehow, for a man to benefit.

Edit: and half the time these same men will act as if my taste is “inferior” to theirs, without asking me at all what shows or games I like. They assume I watch shows that “don’t count” or don’t play “real games” and talk down to me while simultaneously fetishizing me.

The worse is when other women tell us our standards are too high. I don't have a degree but I still etched out a career. I am in average shape, but take care of myself. I own a home through years of hard work and saving. Somehow wanting a man in a similar position in life is too much to expect? My friends keep telling me at my age I need to just settle for a man who wants a family and that asking to be attracted to him is being unrealistic. I've stopped dating men who mention they like gaming, as every "gamer" guy I met has this idealized Sex/Maid/Mommy version of me that just wants to watch him game. Not even play; watch. Like I don't wanna sit and play MHW too. 🙄. And then they spend like 14 hours a day gaming, which just kills any sex appeal because it's so damn gross.

What actually sucks (for them) though, is I'm really a wuss about jump scares and I 100% million percent have bought all the dark souls games once so my boyfriend (at the time) could play and I could just dictate the behind the scenes decisions lmao. I had gotten my ex a boxset of anime he really likes, since he had expressed interest in getting all the seasons of the show himself. I had my own apartment and he lived with his parents, so he left the boxset of anime DVDs at my apartment for us to watch together from time to time. The boxset had so, so many episodes/hours of this show he liked. After what had degraded into a "situationship" no longer had any hope, he had told me that if I had really cared about him, I would have watched a lot of these anime episodes *by myself*, without him. Like, what? I had only watched this anime to spend time with him and make him happy. I could generate a little interest in it because he loved it, but I didn't like it anywhere near enough to watch days and days worth of some anime show all by myself as an adult with so many more things to do, responsibilities, as well as interests of my own. Seriously, wtf? To top it off, never, never had he ever engaged in my interests. I told him I wanted to go kick around a soccer ball or play amateur tennis? We never did in many years. I told him I wanted to go to certain bars or parties? Nope. I told him I liked a certain show? Never in a million years would I have expected him to watch any of it. This only scratches the *surface* of his level of entitlement. Unbelievable. I have no idea how I fell in love with him in the first place.

The men I know are single for a number of reasons; primarily just a disconnection with interacting with actual women.

For those of you that read R/niceguys, it's men who are like - women are goldiggers - women don't want men like me -women want bad boys Etc etc etc

That disassociation leads to men searching for female connections in other ways - porn, only fans, escorts, trips to Amsterdam

These women are seen as masturbation fodder, not as you know actual humans

Social media and the internet have changed the way people search for a partner, more emphasis on looks, more choice etc

I mean 20 years ago you'd marry the guy from school, the bat, work etc
