Fucking Jordan Peterson shit. Remember how he said something like how women aren’t effective in public life because two men can always punch each other, but men can’t punch women so women have an unfair advantage? I’m not sure what his point was other than he really wants dudes to be able to punch women too.

Wtf, how about we don’t punch people in verbal debates? I swear, men have no emotional control.

Every single debate I’ve ever had with a man on Reddit turned into them using insults and being rude just for being challenged. Men are weak because they’ve been told they have authority over women forever and so they don’t know how to hold their own when challenged, they simply expect women to bow to them.

This was in context to me having a conversation with a male friend/acquaintance about welfare. We had opposing views but we're debating the issue.

The next day my other male friend who was there said that I should no longer discuss that topic as it looked like it touched a nerve with friend 1. (Friend 1 nor I are on welfare, I was taking the more liberal view while he took the conversative one)

I was pissed at friend 2 for trying to mute me and I told him. I felt he challenged me because he felt uncomfortable and I was easier to challenge (friend 2 isn't on welfare either)

I posted on another sub Reddit, ranting really because I'm tired of this keeping the peace mantra women are expected to keep.

I received the above comment - I'm trying to date ATM and I can't explain but it irks me that men can hold this view and feel like it's so normal to express

At work, I can be a bit blunt, and it comes across as rude or “having an attitude”. If a man is blunt, he is perceived as being direct.

They turn on the water works out of nowhere and once you’ve annihilated them with logic and words, you hear their fragile ego crack and they get all indignant. We have voices and they will be heard. Who tf are they to act like they control our thoughts, actions, and they know you better than you know yourself? These are the men that no one listens to anyways.

Beasts beat each other up. Women have plenty of consequences to fear from men, physical and otherwise. Women got murdered for going out their way to politely turn men down.

When you purposely match men's tone, you're suddenly deemed hysterical and too emotionally invested in the topic of discussion to have an objective approach or make a valid point - even though all you're doing is stating facts instead of opinions.

I can't see I've seen many women being disrespectful in debates. Men are more likely to go for the jugular actually, 'cause from a man it just comes across as being direct and taking no shit. Women have more to lose by acting the same way.
I have definitely seen women weaponize outrage and act like victims in certain discussions, but it's more common to do that with other women as opposed to men. Again, women usually have more to lose in being painted as the villains.

Anecdotal but from my experience many women are more likely to get upset/find it unsettling when your tone is more neutral/calmer than theirs. Not saying all or even most, but it's a thing. Happens with men too, the difference is their reaction.
Women seem more likely to make themselves sound like victims when they think you're not showing enough emotion to validate theirs; men tend to awkwardly try to reframe your lack of emotion as the presence of a negative one.
