In a perfect world, that would be the case. There's always more to the story. She is now working, and doing well, but I have been very successful professionally, especially since the divorce, so today I still earn at least 5 times what she does. A re-calc of the state formula, based on these new incomes works out pretty close to the same She's currently selling her house, and wants to move her and the kids about a half hour away. She wants to be in the country is the only reason. This move will …

Well, in my lawyers defense he never said "don't fight this" he would have been happy to earn the extra cash from taking it to court. Where I'm at, there is a "standard" custody arrangement. It's every-other weekend and one weeknight dinner for the non-custodial parent. My local family court is infamous for sticking strictly to this standard, in the name of less disruption to the children. My lawyer basically said "we can fight this, but in the interest of full disclosure know that we'll have to…

They didn't actually move to that county, but I think she had to claim to be living at her parents house (who do live there). They had to bend the rules to make it happen, and it never would have worked if they weren't collaborating to essentially circumvent the family court in the home county.

Geography plays a huge part in this. Where I'm at, treatment varies wildly even by county. I was actually raised by a single father in my home state, so I know it can work out in a Dad's favor. It's not as fair where I live now. For example, when my SO and her ex were divorcing, they wanted 50/50 with no support for either person. They agreed to everything and were completely amicable. The only thing they ended up having to hire lawyers for, was to find a judge who would sign off on it. They end…

A big factor in the quoted success rate for fathers who take the custody battle to court, is that the majority of these fathers that go to court, have ex wives with serious, documented issues like addiction or abuse. It's pretty much the only time it's "worth it" to fight the system. The overarching theme of the custody process is "You can fight, but unless your ex-wife is demonstrably unfit, you will cause more harm than good". I just went through this shit show a few years ago.

Huge change in dynamics, but I don't know if it's a full script flip. Most opinions of me are that I'm attractive. I never had problems with women, but in my teens and twenties I had to work at it, play the game, to win girls over. Not so after mid 30's. Became single again at 37, and finding female company was a cake walk in comparison to younger years. I had several female orbiters, and even aggressive women pursuing me who wouldn't take no for an answer. Seriously I had one get so aggressive,…

As a man who was married for over a decade, I can say unequivocally no. It was overall, the worst deal I ever got myself into. It was pretty much like buying a car with a balloon mortgage.

My experience is different. My good friend, was an all around good dude, with baaad skin. He shot above his pay grade in high school. He decided he wanted to try to score one of the schools top 10 finest girls, and was very confident and shameless. I remember being rather impressed with his confidence. She declined. He continued to try to win her over in all the cheesiest ways. She publicly humiliated him over it, and spread all kinds of "creeper" gossip about him around the school. I actually k…

Yep, and I think being attractive beyond the required minimum requirements of the the women being pursued is absolutely the missing element of OP's assertion. If you don't meet or exceed women's attractiveness requirement, and you are sexually forward and aggressive with them, you'll find yourself labeled a creep or prosecuted if she's that type. If you're attractive, sexually forward, and aggressive, you will definitely be getting laid.

Have you found your dad tends to go after the same kind of woman? No, actually just the opposite. Each time he'd divorce, he'd say "I"m never making that mistake again", and choose a woman who was very different from the last. So, for instance say, #1 was his age and mentally volatile, so for #2 he chose a woman 10 years older and a responsible working mom. That didn't work out so #3 was 10 years younger than him, and an musician. That didn't work so #4 was the same age, and a homemaker. And so o…

Can't speak for everyone, but that's essentially what led me to TRP. I'm not the guy who came for advice on women, I've been pretty successful on that front in my life, not top 10% good, but pretty damn good. I was a mentor for young men in a large organization, and after a few years, I started noticing a bunch of really troubling trends with them. Each year, they were more medicated, lonely, angry, lazy, anxious, and progressively less capable. I started drawing some correlations to the number …

Here are the biggest ones for him. 1) Savior complex- choosing damaged women, thinking he'll be their knight in shining armor and save them, from themselves mostly, therefore securing their respect and love. 2) Committing too fast- operating under the horrible assumption that his blind commitment would lock in their honeymoon phase happiness. 3) Generally approaching relationships as if a woman is a prize to win, instead of realizing his own value, and recognizing that a great relationship is a …

Well, in my dad's defense, I think he's starting to learn, a little bit, but it may be too late. A decade or two ago, he'd have had wife #next lined up already at this point, but he's finally staying single for a minute. That's improvement, albeit minor. I've also been trying to point out to him some of his least realistic views on relationships, and highlight the recurring patterns that result. It seems to be finally sinking in. Unfortunately for him, it's getting late in the game, and he's not…

I was raised by a single father, and he definitely did this. He just completed his 5th divorce at almost 60 years of age. It was an excellent education for me. I was able to pick out a host of repeating behaviors in both my dad, and the women he married. I learned early what I didn't want to be, and a ton about the often predictable nature of women.

"I'm going to prioritize finding someone who has good character and whom I enjoy spending time with, even if they are less attractive" This is my thought process for choosing friends. I made the mistake of choosing a woman this way once. It resulted in a marriage that went on for 12 years. A marriage that felt like I was married to one of my aunts or something. Yea, I won't be doing that again. Now choosing a partner is a joint decision between my brain and my balls, with my balls getting the po…

So, if you're a Red Piller, do you think that you would have a more fulfilling relationship if you were a homosexual? In my case, absolutely not. It's because of my red pill lens that I do in fact have very fulfilling relationships with women. I know generally what to expect from women, how to anticipate most of their actions, and how to conduct myself in order to gain fulfillment from my relationships with them. Now if I was blue pill, didn't understand / acknowledge the dynamics at play, and t…

At the end of the day her partner count is 3. With a count of 3, I can't imagine count being much of an issue with the vast majority of men she'd meet, unless she's 14 years old. Also why do you assume she "racked up a high partner count." Didn't assume, I made the caveat that these are the circumstances that I personally find reprehensible. I've been in the SMP for 25 years, my frame of reference is likely different from yours. Women aren't men. Yes this is true, I've flipped them over and chec…

Curious as to what TRPers feel a woman in this situation should do. She should do whatever the hell she wants to do, and deal with any resulting consequences. It's fine if she just wants casual, but she's got to expect that the longer she's casual, the less chance she'll have for something long term in her life. That's both in terms of time to form a bond, as well as her attractiveness level to the men she desires. The only problem I have about a situation like this, is when she's made the choic…

For plating, N shouldn't really matter at all. For LTR there is nothing bluepill about a man having standards surrounding N, and holding firm to those standards. He's planning on making an investment, and should want to make the smartest investment he can. I'll use a car example. If you need a one time ride across town, and you are offered a ride in a 15 year old Honda Civic with 200K miles on it, you'd be a pretty backwards asshat to turn down the ride because the car isn't good enough for you.…

I define feminism as a collective feminine tantrum. Much the same as how I handled my toddlers' tantrums, I think it's best just to let them cry it out. It's irritating as shit to listen to, but eventually they'll tire themselves out and take a nap.

One of my roommates was the male version. So much so, that eventually his parents paid him to quit school. They gave him a VP spot in the family business and bought him a shiny new car, just so he'd stop wasting their money. He wasn't even committed enough to finish any of the 6 different majors he pursued over the 6+ years he went to the university. But, he was a man in demand by the ladies that's for sure. Well, I'm certainly not important enough to be creating universal rules, that's why I specified that it was my experience. To clarify, I was really referring to different degrees. I've never had an issue with a woman who got a BA, and then followed that up with a master's and doctorate. I wasn't clear about that. I have met a few (a dozen maybe) women who spent 10+ years at top tier universities collecting odd degree combinations. One particular woman comes to mind with 4 different art degrees f…

Decades of experience and observations, of repeating themes of tremendous mental instability, from these two groups (cat hoarders, and career students). I think it likely stems from cat hoarders anthropomorphising their pets and confusing them with real human relationships, and career students confusing the university environment for the "real world". Both of these people become pretty incompatible potential partners, unless they pair up only with those who's lives are equally entrenched in the …

A Woman with a college degree is like a woman with a cat. Both the cat and the degree are pretty irrelevant from an attractiveness standpoint, but it shows some level of responsibility. By the same token, in my experience, a woman with several degrees, is similar to a woman with a house full of cats. Both are likely to be certifiably nuts.

This is another one of those things that is not meant to be a 100% absolute across the board, but represents a high enough proportion of the female population that you can make a base assumption. Yes, there are some women who are capable of honest introspection, but they are few. These women also tend to be in the bottom SMV brackets, because they are faced with more rejection / indifference from their desired partner pool, i.e. they live a life closer to that of the average man. Oneitis in a man, is basically the mental operating assumption, that one particular woman is the best and only real match for him. This results in him excusing her bad behavior, subjugating himself to her, and anything else under the sun to placate her, to keep this assumed one, and only true match in his sphere. Moving on to other women, doesn't happen, because a man has to work to meet women, and he won't do that work if he believes he's already found his one, unique counterpart. In his mind, …

I generally prefer the company of other people who don't want a short term I would say we're similar in this regard, but in the pursuit of those folks, I end up developing a pretty wide range of acquaintances. Time and place must be a big factor if I've never heard anyone ever say these words. These words were the standard siren song of the yearning or broken hearted women in my life between the 1990's to the recent past. First, stop giving a fuck. The reason you're getting shit, is because it's a sudden change. I developed a streak of grey hair on the side of my head at 17, and it just progressed from there. I'm still on the dark side of salt and pepper now overall. Women have always responded very well to it actually. TRP is really only commentary on the SMP from the male POV, and with masculine goals as the underlying constant. It's not a religion or movement that is meant to change anything. Imagine the SMP is a football game, TRP is only equivalent to the guys in the press box. What I will say that I've noticed IRL in the past year, is the number of women who are very upfront about their desire for alphas, and their disgust for betas, in the context of sex. The kids thing makes it sticky. If you want to have kids, marriage is "kid stability for dummies", at the higher producer's risk. I've seen folks have kids outside of marriage, and it work out wonderfully. I've also seen plenty have kids in marriage, with train wreck endings. If you're smart, and you enlist the help of a decent attorney, you can create a pretty solid security framework around a non-married child birth. You have to plan it out, and think about all the angles though. Me though, I'…

is there any reason for your average Joe to get married in today's society? ANY reason? Sure, based on the individual. Faith, and family tend to be the two most cited "reasons". For me as an individual, absolutely no reason at all. It used to be that the most accomplished folks were the ones drawn to marriage as a statement of status, but I just don't think that makes any sense these days, and I think it's really the lower income levels that still receive some tangible benefit from marriage. Nowhere did I say that feminine is equal to easy. Yes, in my opinion, acting and most art, leans toward the feminine. I say that, because the main goal of acting and art is to stir emotional responses and thoughts from an audience, which is in the feminine wheelhouse, and not generally a part of masculine methodology. It's not about building, creating, innovating, or conquering. But my reference is only on the nature of the work here, and not a judgement of a person who does such work. Conversel…

Yes it is individual, as most things are. That said though, when I look around me, which is limited scope without a doubt, there are pretty reliable patterns behind what works for high value men, vs what doesn't work. why does TRP encourage women to not waste their time exploring/developing their aptitudes? TRP doesn't encourage women to do anything, it's not for women, it's only concerned with how to deal with them / what to expect from them. RPW certainly does advise women to develop their feminine hobbies and talents, because those are bonus points to a wider pool of high value men. As an example, an attractive woman who can cook with skill, and is a good singer, is more attractive to high value men, than …

Here's my analogy. Have you ever been to the carnival, and seen the gold fish game? You dangle a mock fishing pole in a wading pool, and you collect a plastic fish. College is similar to that. You have a tightly packed pool, and with only basic skills required, you will "win" something, simply by choosing to play. That something is usually pretty lacking in value, due to the ease with which it is obtained. But you can practically surround yourself with plastic fish. By contrast, in the post-grad…

That would be a completely different topic, that's been beat to death and back in this forum already, but I'll play this one time. No, it's not hypocritical. Men and women are not the same. They're different from their DNA, all the way to their neurological processing. You can't compare these two different things, and call the differences hypocrisy. Yes, it is a double standard. I don't think there's much distinction from a practical standpoint. Seeking validation because it comes easy, isn't much different from seeking validation because you crave it. If you seek it because it's easy,,, soon enough you'll be seeking it because you crave it. It's very similar to drug addiction.

First, carousel riders are not unsuitable for certain forms of relationships,, they just make less suitable LTR or marriage candidates. I believe there's a curve. this is true for a lot of people. Maybe, but women in general are particularly bitten by the validation bug. Log onto your facebook account and do a selfie count, guys vs girls. First you have to start by defining "mature". Not long ago, a man showed "maturity" by working hard, taking on a wife, supporting that wife, and building a family around her. Women showed maturity by being a faithful, reliable, second in command, that could be counted on to nurture both the husband and the family. Over the past couple generations, the feminine culture has done everything in it's power to convince women that their "maturity" is oppression. They've been encouraged to completely ab…

Would you say this is due internalised misogyny, or are women naturally not meant to be promiscuous? I'd say neither. It's basically because women are granted a large amount of intrinsic social value due to their ability to bear and raise children, the next wave of society. With that value, comes some pressure to use that value responsibly. We do it with other groups too,, take police for example. But it's really irrelevant, as all it reaffirms is the fact that there is a never ending sea of thirsty betas, just dying to dive in to a steady pussy. I grew up in a common law state, and moved to another common law state,, but both have dropped it at this point (although I believe you can be grandfathered in if you were living together before they ended it). By chance, I work for an organization in which both the CEO and the CFO are 30+ year employees who started off in very modest roles with the company. Did they have connections that helped them climb the ladder in the company?,, absolutely. Here's some encouragement for you, from a guy 15 years further down the same path you're on,, if you play your cards right, you're going to shatter the assumptions you made here. HR staffers get compensated pretty well right out of the gate, but they are pretty much capped at a level that you will easily blow past if you make yourself a subject matter expert in technical …

I wouldn't be in a hurry to have kids completely alone. I would definitely aim for a LTR, just like the one I have. I simply wouldn't marry, and she'd have to stay self sufficient. We'd know from the instant that the child was born, what our agreement would be if we had to part ways, instead of leaving it up to a family court judge to decide in divorce. You don't have these agreements in marriage, because you operate under the faulty assumption that marriage is infinite and never ending. Then yo…

I agree with all of your premises here,,, but there is one that I'd like to expand on a little. Also, married people's assets do climb. So while you are married, you do benefit financially in a significant way. While comprehensive statistics show this to be true,,, it's by no means a rule for all parties that enter marriage. I've been to the divorce rodeo myself and here are a couple facts from my personal experience. I was married for 10 years, and had joint assets for all 10 of those. After 10…

This was the '80's, and my sister and I were teens. The part of the story that got missed, is that he had already re-financed the home, to pay my mother out for the first divorce, and his credit was left pretty damaged as well. Of course the house is only one part of the equation. There were pension value increases, cars, and other property that required his cash to settle. The house is what pushed everything over the tipping point. I'm calling bullshit on the whole damn story. Oh it's bullshit …

I didn't mean to insinuate that he owned the house outright. He was the only name on the deed, and he owned it before the marriage. Unfortunately, he was leveraged pretty heavily against the house, and his credit was poor as a result of having to pay my mother out from the first divorce.

Real life example. My dad owned his house and raised us kids in it. He met and married a woman with a pre-nup,, their marriage lasted only 5 years. During those 5 years, my dad's house appreciated aprox 80K. Wife runs off with a lover, and is entitled to half of the appreciation in my father's property value (not protect-able by pre-nup). Also, if economics was the deciding factor on birth rates, poorer countries would have LOWER birth rates not HIGHER. Exactly. The most affluent nations in the world have less than 10 births per 1,000 inhabitants. Niger has aprox. 50 births per 1,000 inhabitants. If I am as red pill as I think I am, and continue to better myself, I will never have to worry about getting divorced raped. This ignores the most important aspect of SMV,, and that is that it's relative. You having higher actual SMV than your woman, gets nullified if her self-perceived SMV increases drastically. For ex…

It's not as hard as you think. I'm usually at the office till about 7PM. I'd set up drink dates for 7:30PM near my work, about 3 nights a week. The night either ends there, after a drink or two,, or there's still time to hook up and get to sleep before midnight. This works for me because she loves the sex and wants it all the time,, and she's very cautious about not fucking up outside the bedroom, because she craves what I give her. As a result, she is very sweet, upbeat, helpful and happy around me in general, because she's constantly got the tingles when we're together, thinking about what's to come …

Just want to offer another man's perspective if I may. I think I have a similar communication style (honest and direct) to your BF. The first statement is his honest struggle. High value men have options, and it's hard to keep your mind off of those attractive options sometimes,, no matter how much he loves you. The second statement of "I can't tell you that you shouldn't worry", is what you really seem to be worried about. I'm assuming here,,, but I believe I expressed this idea to my SO, who I…

Actually not as ridiculous as it sounds. Was married, she got huge and nasty but was still my wife, so I turned the lights off and did my duty a couple times a week. After divorce, I got with a few absolutely stunning women, and a handful of cuties. I had a moment of weakness where I entertained the idea of reconciling with the ex for the kid's sake,,,, yea, no dice on the physical side anymore. There literally was no way for me to to "bite the bullet" and get it done.

My parents marriages (dad 4, mom 2) were all crap. Mom has been happily cohabitated with a great guy for over 20 years now, unmarried. Nobody in my family before them, ever divorced. So there were plenty of "good examples" but they are all from an era where relationships were conducted in very traditional ways. Things are very different now. Seeing my parents failed marriages actually gave me an advantage in that I had no grand illusion of what marriage is,, I expected rough patches, and was det…

I've never heard that money is everything. What money is though, is an easy score keeping mechanism, in the most universal market of competition among men. When you succeed financially, it's highly visible, and therefore a significant smv boost by demonstrating dominance. Being a master in another area of competition will also raise your smv,, but it might not be as easily visible to the larger population, and therefore will provide a smv boost from a smaller subset of the female population. For…

Maybe its just me, but I see these largely as benefits of a red pill life, not really costs. Isolation: the stark differences between the red pill man, and everyone else, makes it extremely easy to recognize the few kindred spirits out there. I don't want to feel like a member of the herd,,, I want to feel like the cowboy. There will always be few cowboys, to the many of the herd. To me, that is comforting. Media: the blatant feminization of most mass media has become so repulsive that im not ev…

True, and there are also behaviors that will minimize the risk of being attacked by a bear when confronted,,, but it still would be very unwise to jump into the bear enclosure at the zoo and rely on those behaviors.

Was married for 12 years. Been in a good LTR for a couple years now, and I'll tell you that without a doubt, there is not a single thing about marriage that makes it "worth it". In my case, I have worked extremely hard, and earn a very large salary. Analogy time: in marriage you lock yourself in a guillotine and hand the rope to a woman in hopes she never pulls it. In a committed non-married LTR you and her both choose to put your heads under a guillotine, and you each hold the other's rope. Thi…

Look man, we're all lied to. Some people are simply astute enough to pull back the curtain, and recognize the lies. Others choose to remain blissfully unaware. It's only the carousel riders, not women as a gender, who are sad. Just as the Beta Bux are sad men. Everybody has a chance to take the red pill,, most just can't resist the taste of blue....

Good timing, I dealt with this last night. She was upset over a couple boundaries I set, that she was hashing over and over in her head. We had a very real, brutally honest conversation, where I reinforced those boundaries, she agreed and geniunely apologized when we were finished. Afterward, I told her "now I'm going to take you upstairs and fuck some sense into you". She came six times. Honestly, women thrive when men take charge, establish boundaries, and strictly enforce them. They will piss…

Congratulations on many levels. First on realizing you have a problem and addressing it, second on having a strong relationship, and third for finding this place. First things first, make sure the pain pill bullshit is done for good. You need to be your best self. Relationship wise, I live a similar life, and I would say first, that yes, you have definitely spent some relationship capital here, you broke frame. The good news seems to be that you had a good bit of capital to spend, and I think yo…

After I spent 11 years catering to my wife, giving her everything she asked for, putting up with her ridiculous shit tests, demanding nothing of her, and she in turn divorce raped me, took my kids, 60% of my accumulated wealth, and 30% of my earnings for the next 9 years. That kind of screwing will yank the cord out of the back of your head pretty quick. It's been years now, and TRP living has given me a life infinitely better than anything I've ever had before.

I generally behave in a way that many consider chivalrous, including my SO. The difference for me though is the drive behind why I do those things. It's for my own kicks, for my self esteem, pride, whatever. When I hold a door ( for anyone m or f), my subconscious thought is "I'm in charge, welcome to my environment" a smile for everyone, as if I was hosting them in my own dining room, because I project every room to be my own dining room. This has done wonders for me, as it looks appealing as h…

I'll try to clarify a little. 1) Having opinions and speaking them isn't an alpha / beta indicator. A ton of betas are outspoken,, if they weren't,, my interactions with them would be a lot less irritating. It's the nature of the opinion that would carry alpha or beta thought processes. 2) Boundaries are about a whole lot more than push / pull. Boundaries force you to ask the general question "what will I allow to affect me". That affect can be physical, emotional,, whatever. If your happiness /…

You don't seem to be an alpha personality. You have established opinions that you aren't afraid to speak, but that doesn't really mean much in terms of alpha / beta personality types. If you are too emotional for your own comfort, and those emotions are easily influenced by how others view you or what they say, you have boundary issues that need fixing. Get the book, Boundaries (Townsen and Cloud), it's paperback, easy read. The book spends some time tying emotional boundaries to some Christian …

"you, don't mind if I sit here,,, do you" (said with a slight smile) is another great option in that situation.

I don't know man, I've known plenty who had kids out of marriage, and fared just as well, as those of us that were married. I was married, and still have 90% financial responsibility, and an every other W/E and a weekday night for visitation. Can't get too much worse for an "amicable" situation. You have to make sure to sign the birth certificate if unmarried, but after you are stated as the father, it's basically the same set of challenges. There may even be an upside overall, as the man and wo…

I agree for the most part, I think the spinning plates list is spot on, but the cons for LTR only exist when you break frame. In my LTR case I have a 7-7.5 professional woman, who pays for more than I ask, she treats to trips out of town etc. Yes, I make twice as much money, but she doesn't expect any of it. I spend what I want on her, responsibly. She has never complained once about the time I spend with friends, or on my hobbies (actually she joins in most of my hobbies with me and is actually…

39 yo, high smv, man here. Chronology is spinning plates, marriage, spinning plates, LTR. My plate spinning days were all great (best in 30's), my marriage was abject misery, my LTR is beyond fucking awesome. I'd definitely vote LTR as superior (sans marriage). If done correctly from the start. The key is frame. My S/O knows I'm in control, the captain of the ship, and she supports the hell out of that. In return, I take very good care of her, and rock her world in the bedroom at every opportuni…

No, in both expressions, you still convey irritation and discontent. It's just that in the first example focuses on the emotion, and paints you as a victim, and in the second you put the focus on the action and it paints you as a conqueror / problem solver,,, but the actual message conveyed (irritation at work), is basically the same.

I'm in a LTR (2yr), and for those who don't understand what is being said here, let me offer my attempt at an example. Say you're getting screwed over at work, you're upset, she can tell, and wants you to share. Here's the wrong way: "Work has been upsetting me. I just don't feel appreciated, and it seems that whatever I do it's not good enough. I hate it, but I feel trapped." Here's the right way: "Get this, so and so really pissed me off at work because X, so I decided I'm going to do X about …
