My ex had a collection of nudes of various celebrities/IG models etc. I found about them on accident, actually he mentioned it very nonchalantly. His excuse: the nudes were shared in a friend group chat (implying it’s a common thing for men) and that it was not him who shared them. Wow, slow clap for you buddy. Also, another “hero act” is that he - wait for it, ladies - delets them every two weeks!, so that I should be at peace knowing he’s not storing them permanently 😍🥰🤡🤡

My intention behind posting was to think about today’s context of the word. Because of that, its true origin isn’t the focus here. I’m not from an English speaking country so in fact I use the dictionary a lot. Hope I clarified it.

Oh yeah, another one of those specific terms media likes to push in that case and the one that irks me the most is 🌈family man 🌈 as if it’s some kind of saint that just happened to kill people (often said family members). Or the comments about how he always seemed calm and non-suspicious.

Oh boy, this is too familar, especially the uglies looove to project their insecurities onto women. Examples of my ex: 1) yeah, your tits are alright, but they can always be bigger ;)) 2) while noticing a stand of gray hair on my head: (broad smile) iS tHaT gRaY hAiR? (keeps smiling and wouldn’t let it go even when I wasn’t comfortable with the convo) 3) at the beach, touching my lower back and making a comment: see, you have a bit of fat right here (waiting for my reaction) but it’s cool, a lot…

Projection. A lot of them start balding even in their mid 20 and get huge wrinkle lines because of no skincare regimen and sun exposure. While they start to look way older than their real age, they get insecure and project that onto women.

Yup, same thing here. I was also 16, 17, he 21ish and he always insisted on sexual topics. When I would call him out on his behavior, he would say I’m a prude, along with his fav question, “are u still a virgin?”. It’s fucking gross. The worst part is I had a huuge crush on that guy and we had been talking for a year or two. Fortunately, he lived far enough not to see him ever.

I was seeking the answer to that just like you, then realized guys aren’t that deep. There isn’t an array of emotions he felt before the date - would I really like to see her that much, am I actually good enough for her or would we maybe waste each other’s time.. They do assholeish things to get an ego boost, without ANY empathy to the woman involved. The end.

Exactly. I’ve always thought those kind of things are weird af. Like, I am sure about him and he is sure about me-we both have trust in each other. Trust. Which is earned and build gradually. I sure as hell am not looking in anyone’s phone with the thought of them cheating. Being on a verge of a mental fucking breakdown all the time. If cheating happens, that’s it. We’re done. Simple as that.

Omg I’m almost in your exact dating situation you described, even though I’m having some trouble with that, but now it has to do less with myself and more about him. Can I pm you?

It’s worrying to me that women today first have to think things like “am I high maintenance” for wanting something special from time to time. Whether it be fine dining, an expensive gift, or an engagement ring which is, um, supposed to be special special since it happens once with someone lol. I remember feeling awkward and confused when an ex asked me if I wanted to go to a nicer place for a dinner and for us to get dressed up. I was frozen for a few seconds and I didn’t know what to answer. My…

Ugh you spoke to me. I still get thoughts of a guy who was literally beautiful, plus a pro athlete. I usually don’t fall for looks, they don’t really bother me (if everything else is fine and he is not like ugly ugly). But this guy was someone who I would totally describe perfect lookswise. We also clicked 😒. Anyway of course I let myself be infatuated by him and of course he turned out to be a LVM. Ladies don’t do this! Ask yourself what does he bring to the table! The way he treats you, the wa…

My mom shames other women for having sex and always mentions it in the most unpleasant way, like “she fucked her way through the top”; “they are fucking since she was 13”- commenting on one of our neighbors daughter who is a young adult now, she isn’t the brightest but I mean she’s enough mentally capable of choosing her sexual partner lol (but my mom has a problem with that somehow). I think she wants to imply that women use their pussy power to use men, it’s most likely projecting her being fi…

Same, I stopped caring and asking myself if he’s, like that guy in particular, being sincere with his compliments, or just like the rest of them who write the same stuff. Realized I shouldnt question myself so much but mens’ integrity overall. It’s funny though how they don’t seem to comprehend that and get angry at us for not being impressed 🤣

It’s alarming to see how many women don’t actually register this behavior as harassing and predatory. They’ll brush it off and say things like, “that poor guy was just trying to flirt and made me uncomfortable”, “maybe he’s all alone and needs some company” etc etc. NO. Please stop rationalizing such men and be truthful to yourself about your own peace and, ultimately, security. Don’t say a thing and walk off.

Yes! We as women tend to “stay in our lanes” usually thinking it’s what we deserve. Especially millennial women. We were taught not to question the status quo of our life, the people around us, our satisfaction and (un)happiness. It’s time we look at things for what they are and don’t take shit from anyone - also ourselves. We need to stop telling ourselves we are undeserving and not enough. We need to stop this negative narrative and free ourselves from cognitive dissonance.

Listen here now. You can find someone who will love you wholeheartedly and treat you with kindness and respect. It’s a matter of looking at it like this-what can HE bring to the table? Noone needs men. Seriously. All women of all ages I spoke to and who opened up to me said that. You yourself, right now, are enough. Noone can take that away from you. Not a fuckboy who texts you ‘u up’ at 1am or a handsome athlete you fell for. I advise you to work on your self esteem first, find your strengths A…

Ughhh am I the only one who HATES the word thicc. It’s gotten so popular and used for everything that it became utterly annoying. It’s the same like ‘bae’ was a few years ago. Not to mention if curves weren’t trendy and desirable rn, people would just use the word fat instead.

I really like her and more important, the messages she sends out. I used to think she is over the top (like finding a rich attractive husband) but with time I realized her points are perfectly valid. Patriarchy teaches women you can’t have everything in a man; you must compromise. He can be good-looking and charming, but doesn’t need to earn much and can watch porn every night. He can be ugly af and abuse you but have a stable income. He can say I love you but doesn’t do shit in the household. W…

It’s sad that cosmo is among the first things a young impressionable girl is able to gain info about the adult world. Those “manuals” in magazines on introduction to safe sex, enjoyable sex, without the must be The One prince charming bs must be written by women, approved by women and owned by women.

Gosh, since joining FDS I realized SO many sneaky little ways men use to manipulate us. It’s as fascinating as it is terrifying. This is another of them. But it also reassures me I’m not ‘overreacting’ and ‘over analyzing’ like society wants us to think. I bet you if I had this same talk with my friends I would most probably get weird looks.

I have a question about suggesting a date with someone I’m dating seriously - is it okay if I suggest anything tied to my narrow interests? Let’s be clear, we’re talking about men. They aren’t always the most creative one and yes, partially because they tend to be low effort. My guy gives date ideas almost all the time, but he sometimes just doesn’t have a clue I might be into something or doesn’t know about an event I’d like to attend.

Omg I wish I could be that comfortable with my guy. He took me regularly on dinner dates, never expected me to pay for it. When we became closer he once wanted to ask me what my opinion on paying on a date is, but didn’t want to be so direct. I answered regardless and told him it’s not feminism that I go out of my way and ask to pay for my part bEcAuSe iT’s 2020 and I thought he figured it then. But I’m still not sure. This post hit me hard. I spent some time with a guy around this time last year. We don't live in the same country and I just knew the would bring me trouble. Lookswise, he is my dream man. I kind of hate to admit it to myself, but I have a specific type and am just not attracted to any other. On top of that he looked like an angel. We clicked, talking to each other felt like talking to a lifelong friend even though we met on a dating app a few months prior to meeting. After he went back to his h…
