I really feel you! it helped me move past a toxic ex and see things wayyyy more clearly. I understood why it left reddit but now I can't help but feel a bit sad because I loved hearing the diversity of voices. my favourite posts were when yes it's a criticism of men but it's more action/strategy oriented like red flags, what to do in this situation, how to manipulate the situation to ur advantage, etc., not just saying oh they are so dumb they don't wipe their ass etc like we have heard it befor…

no not too radfem - too femcel and too female separatist. some of the last super awarded/upvoted subreddit posts were about how let's not forget that this is female DATING strategy (i.e., you can and should take a break from dating, but overall the purpose of the sub is to develop STRATEGIES to choose a good male mate). there are podcasts as well (idk if they are bonus or main episodes) critiquing female separatism and femcels, which were produced after the sub closed to public posts. of course,…

are you new here? the sub is closed, there's no "lurking" to be done. were you around when the sub closed and migrated to the FDS website and podcast? part of the reason was because the vibe was becoming too femcel. bitch is generally seen as a slur in radfem spaces and I'd consider FDS radfem-adjacent. yes the term can be reclaimed but you weren't using it in that context (e.g. yes bitch! slay! or whatever)

the irony of you making this comment that opens with calling me a bitch

Pls 😩😩 too much shitting on men, isn't that why the sub got closed in the first place

Y'all, I haven't listened lately because I'd really love more interview based podcasts. They don't even have to be with famous people. Just women perhaps from the website who are sharing their perspective or sharing their wins/level ups/queen strategy mindsets and you guys can dissect that together and relate to it and ask questions. Pls

"he is safe" this is so vague and means nothing. Men say this all the time. Unless he has said verbatim "I wear a condom every single time", she should consider that he does not.

This might sound weird but you've got to channel that "horniness" or whatever magic you've got coursing through you into something else - something positive for you! You can use it to write, to clean, to work out, to flirt and be super charming/vibrant/exciting/dynamic (to the people in your life, around you, colleagues, not to lead to sex or be suggestive of course! I'm talking more about that glimmer in your eye...it's a mental shift from seeing being horny as something bad -because you're tak…

300 per month because he paid for full groceries a while ago and a laundry basket?? Wtf what am I missing here. How on earth did they come to this agreement. This poor woman. The fact that she's black and he's white makes it even grosser. Hope the fact that she posted this means she's getting out soon!!

Girl this whole story is weird. Go get your stuff back, break up or just let him say nothing. The whole dinner thing is a mess. You sort of set your standards but then went back on them. This isn't your fault, it's not like you did something terrible, but it just sounds like a) this man is not your boyfriend (he's mean to you and punishes you e.g. for changing your mind, he doesn't support you and just wants lunch) and b) you need to be single for a while and heal and be calm.

For sure, I meant it as a thought experiment. I saw in her post that she seemed to be using her imagination to idealize the man, and I relate to this cause I've done it in the past. So why not use her imagination in the opposite way? Instead of imagining that he's now "ready to give this woman everything", why not imagine that he's being equally horrible to her, think how lucky you are to not be with him anymore and to have gotten out. It's a bad habit to constantly imagine that things are bette…

Don't idealize how he's treating this new woman (if that's even true/if she even exists). He treated you like shit, what evidence do you have that he's treating her well? Based on what? Based on what you wrote he's probably negging her for not being young and making her feel like he's doing her a favour when he could be dating 20 year olds.

On other subs they use trigger warning and the photo is blurred. Maybe we could do that at FDS so those who agree with OP can scroll past. But those who are still understanding the depths of male depravity can click to view.

I'm gonna take a step back from the argument itself. It seems like A being in your boyfriend's life, and so by extension your life, is the true problem and is what led to all these conflicts. Why is your bf still hanging out with him?! When he is openly still friends with a rapist? That's LV and this association leads to these messes. I saw this meme/tweet/story and it might have been on here. It goes. Guy asks girl what kind of music she likes, while driving. She goes, oh anything except folk. The man proceeds to PLAY FOLK MUSIC. I don't think OP's post meant or implied that you are not welcome here/not welcome to post/comment. But I saw it as a course correction that the focus has strayed away from striving for a healthy relationship. If you already have a healthy relationship or don't have a desire to be in one, I don't think that means you can't participate, but simply remember to make space for that overall goal. Also, I think saying things like "HVM are in short supply" go against "being against the scarcity mindset…

"New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings." ❤️ You've got this. Yes it will hurt. That pain is part of life. Feel it, and rejoice in your humanity, your human-ness, and in your capacity to love. What happens next...will be great and exciting :)

So that happens with my posts too...they just get one upvote. I think that's when they're stuck in the mod queue. Mods manually approve every post, even if you're an approved poster. I've waited 24 hours+ for the post to be approved. Only then does it start getting more upvotes and comments. :) Maybe next time try keeping it up and waiting (not deleting)!

It's cultural as I understand it, no requirement to do so when married but more just a tradition for some? Signifies trust? Idk

No, this was debunked, it was an accidental hand signal by gesturing and the video interview edited it out after this theory came out on the internet.

The thing is she's a multi millionaire. I don't think we can extrapolate too many life lessons from this. She's also been screwed over a few times by people she's trusted, so I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't want to legally marry, despite writing multiple songs about romance and marriage (not to say she's not romantic, she is, but she's also a writer and an artist so we don't have to take her marriage lyrics to literally apply to HER own life).

Kind and friendly request to rethink your phrasing of "missed the boat". While maybe I'm sensitive because this could apply to me 😂, I do think this phrasing puts the men as "the prize" that some of us women "missed" out on during uni. (When in reality it's the other way around 😌) As other commenters have pointed out, it's not that simple and there's also a lot of hookup culture and immaturity at unis. Furthermore and in particular, this phrasing in my opinion perpetuates the scarcity mindset (i…

I agree more or less (both of my relationships ended), and I've seen this viewpoint around the FDS sub. However, probably because of today's globalized economy, I find LDRs are more and more common, and more and more women around me are being faced with the decision to be in one or not. I wrote this post with this in mind. (Sort of a "harm reduction" versus an "abstinence-only" approach.)

Yep agree with you on that. In a way I got lucky because I broke up with my boyfriend of a couple years earlier in the summer and am still in the healing/ leave me the fck alone phase. That combined with me REALLY not wanting to get sick (and being an introvert) makes it fine for me to chill for some more months. If someone has been levelling up and they've been ready to find a partner, and they've already put it on hold for a summer, I do understand them not wanting to wait anymore. And could r…

Hmmm yeah I implied that I think that in my comment. But actually I agree, I think it will last 2-3 years too. But I'm not at the threshold yet where I've accepted it as the new normal and willing to date in these conditions. I'm still hoping things will go down at least a bit, maybe in the next 6 months. I guess once it's been a year (March 2021) maybe I'll reassess. What do you think?!

I saw something recently saying that the line that all women are different in terms of what they like sexually is a form of soft misogyny and an excuse to be a poor or selfish lover. Yes all women have different quirks and prefs as do men. But maybe the basics of women pleasure (gspot, clitoris) are the same, just as the basics for men are the same (gradually harder/faster, etc)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/09/20 03:05 AM

Yeah exactly. I'm sure she looked adorable in her pajamas. As we all do :)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/09/20 12:58 PM

Right exactly. I think the main strategy is be a HVW, date multiple men, wait for LV traits to reveal themselves (in contrast to your HV behaviour)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/09/20 05:26 AM
18

I get the main strategy but I think this is overboard. I think you could ask him in a flirty way what he watches, but I wouldn't want to lie to a man and pretend that I watch a certain kind of porn, because as other commenters said, what if he is HV? Kind of a bad start to the relationship

Interesting comment thread thanks - I think the other point/potential problem of the OP line of thinking (which has value I think as a reminder or perspective shift), is that even seeing that story in a good light - ie men need us, not the other way around - is that woman was created FOR THE PURPOSE of helping a man (who couldn't survive without her). Of course, this is a dating sub. Humans are social and yes we do need each other. But I think the purpose of women is way way more than helping me…

Fuck man. I don't know why this hasn't happened to me. I swear, I think it's cause I'm tall. I'm almost 5'10. I'm so grateful. I think it makes me seem intimidating. "Which means it's done out of economic need not a choice." Exactly. Everything is connected. If minimum wage wasn't so low, maybe minimum wage jobs would stand a chance against prostitution / shooting a porn movie / dealing hard drugs / what have you. Many people can't refuse getting thousands of dollars quick, they need it to survive / not get evicted / etc.

I think more education/discourse surrounding peer pressure would have been helpful at that age. As in, it's okay to leave a situation, it's okay to say no, no one should be pressuring you to do things, they don't dictate if you're cool or not, listen to your gut and don't be afraid to leave a situation abruptly, call a cab etc, and dont be afraid to tell people to fuck off. These can all be applied to dating too. But I think a lot of passiveness is learned in these teenage/early 20s group dynami…

I use the Clue app, track your cycles like just click the days you're bleeding, after a few months it will be more accurate but even the first month you input it, it will have one week be blue - this is your ovulation week. It basically shows you a calendar with a red week and a blue week. You could avoid sex (or intercourse) that week to be extra safe - still condom always though! This is what I'll do with my next boyfriend - I did it with my previous boyfriend too but my recent ex had a vasect…

Your question about whether it's your gut or your anxiety/self-sabotage is extremely difficult to answer and unlikely to be answered by crowdsourcing. I've found crowdsourcing helpful to ask things like- my boyfriend did X thing, is that normal/crazy? - to get some perspective. When I was younger I often couldn't tell what was my "real" gut. Here is my advice to you: Give yourself a time limit. Let's say 1 month, or 2. During those 2 months TRY EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO SALVAGE THE RELATIONSHI…

Alright, if you're going to their profiles to peek then it's probably time to take more serious action. What you could do is "unfriend" them instead of "block" - this way they would be theoretically able to request you as a friend again, or send you a message request asking "hey, how are you, where'd you go?" if they really cared - odds are they won't though. sorry. but leaving that option open to them might finally 'prove' that to you if/when you don't hear from them for months. you're empathiz…

Thanks for writing this and I agree. Great analysis. I agree that us "acting like men" is NOT the solution. Somehow "inclusion" needs to happen first before societal change. It's like gay people being allowed to openly serve in the military versus abolishing the military-industrial complex. Lol. The other angle I had to counter this narrative is just shifting away from the male gaze in general. Yes in the past women were shamed for being promiscuous or wearing revealing clothing. But the opposit…

I'm pretty new here but I've read a LOT of posts these past months, I haven't seen any "long rant hating on single moms and SAHMs..." So I could understand why you feel sensitive to that. But I mean, would you agree? I think, once you're a single mother, this sub doesn't shame you or make you think it's y…

I agree with what you wrote. I think the most common - and true to an extent - counter narrative or counter argument to that account of historical progression you just gave would be: in the past, modesty was expected from women, and being immodest would lead to a plethora of terrible social consequences for the woman - being ostracized from her family, community, losing the potential to marry a good man, etc. So nowadays, women are free to be immodest, promiscuous, etc, without drastic social co…

You may need to come to terms with the fact that you may lose some belongings, depending how things go. Think about it and make sure you bring your most precious things (jewelry, paperwork, maybe jacket/shoes, whatever the case may be) in that backpack. Don't worry about losing other stuff, the most important is to get out and to be safe. To prepar…

Lol you're right there's some propaganda. Ofc it's stereotyped and exaggerated. I just saw a lot of themes of FDS portrayed in the "Western couple" and thought it might provoke an interesting discussion. I'm not sure if people here even see the "Chinese" couple as desirable?? I'm a white woman but I spent all my teenage years living in East Asia (China) and in my experience I do see truth within these stereotypes, but yes the video makes the Western couple seem worse probably

I just love the depiction of the Western fight. How he's so emotionally manipulative and then totally does a 180 and backtracks what he said DURING THE SAME MEAL. Whereas the Chinese example offers a different scenario where there's just a simple and straightforward apology with a gift.

He did exactly ask me for a threesome. Now I'm scared to tell my future/next boyfriend. But also, I'm still friends with the girl, so what if I hang out with her again or introduce her to my future boyfriend, shouldn't I tell him that we hooked up? Like, isn't that "ethics" - if your boyfriend hangs out with an ex or someone he hooked up with he should tell you before letting you meet that person - so shouldn't I do the same?

Hmm a helpful epiphany I had years ago was "just because you miss someone, doesn't mean you still should be with them" At the time I had this thought because I was thinking a lot about my boyfriend who I left in another country, who didn't want to do long distance. I was young. I missed him, I thought about him, I hoped he was doing okay. Sometimes I got confused cause "missing him" was conflated with "regretting leaving him" or something. But of course, I had to leave for XYZ reason (university…

Phew. Man. Yeah. Idk..... I think I was really brainwashed and kind of thought your husband would be your "best friend" , you could talk about everything, there's a lot of that rhetoric in popular culture. I have had a lot of successful, long term, female friendships. Perhaps I was basing my boyfriends too much on that model. Perhaps I need to be more strategic with boyfriends/husbands. So glad I found this sub.

Clarification: if you do this immediately then you already have a drink in your hand and you won't be part of any splitting bottle/shot decisions. If you're super self conscious you can even lie if someone asks you straight up what you're drinking - it's not like they're gonna have a sip and if they ask for a sip you can say no (covid). You don't owe people anything - lying about what you're drinking to prevent being harassed is fine. Longer term: find better friends who don't do this.

I DID have one night stands occasionally and I do feel bad in the sense that my number is now higher, also whatever, I was having fun and it led to my current perspective. I'd say: count your blessings. If you didn't get hurt, pregnant, or an STD, you're lucky! It sounds like you have that mentality which is a good thing.
