Very lovely gesture. My ex husband / child’s father tries to use snow shoveling as a way to weasel into my life and appear helpful / feel “needed”. I do it myself to avoid him but sometimes the timing is challenging with a child to care for. That was a super thoughtful thing to do for her and I’m sure she really appreciated it a lot!

“Electronic case filing” is a term used for digitally submitted case files in state and federal court in the US - PACER is part of that.

Great advice. Reverse searching his phone number, email address etc. is something I do as well if I have that or find that info. I hadn’t thought about the “find friends” feature! Also great point about using ECF / PACER - you definitely dodged a big one with Mr. Racketeering! We don’t always get clear confirmations of our gut feelings but when we do it reinforces the need to pay close attention to them.

I did not conduct a formal background check on this person - just independent google sleuthing. I am copy / pasting this from a reply I posted to an earlier commenter - it is my general process. First is to google first name plus keywords from their profile to find their last name. Then do deeper searching with that. — I’ve been able to find most of the men I’ve looked up by using a combination of whatever basic info is in their profile. For example: First name + company or job title + city Firs…

100% true in my case with exes as well. Red flags don’t lie. And sadly, I have to agree that there is no (or very little) reform for violent offenders. Steering clear and remaining vigilant is the only way. In the case of this man he is fit, handsome, has a great job, even turned up on some volunteer organizations... yet... well it is just awful to think about the women in his future. The book “The Gift of Fear” by Gavin DeBecker is an excellent resource for re-invigorating your natural instinct…

For example: First name + company or job title + city First name + school attended + current city or hometown First name + city + hometown First name + sport + city Once you find something with their full name you can do more searches: Full name + city Full name + “marriage” Full name in the “news” section of google. Full name + arrested ...Etc. You can also try reverse image …

Research every single man you are considering talking to or dating. If they pass the research phase: don’t believe anything they say until they back up words with action. The handbook is full of fortifying advice. There is a section dedicated to red flags. Read the Handbook

Background check is a good idea if you know of a reputable provider. They can be hit or miss. One important thing to remember this that career success does NOT guarantee high value traits. Many psychopathic, sociopathic types are also very successful in their careers.

My marriage counselor helped. He looked at me and said “m4dam3x, sometimes you just have to admit that the relationship is too far gone to be repaired.” He said it right in front of my NVM ex who didn’t even blink or notice because he was so tuned out. “How you get them is how you lose them.” - My grandma. He would do this same thing to you in a relationship once he got bored. Remind yourself of that repeatedly and stop idealizing. Keep him cut off 100%, do not look back, and move on with your life. Do not allow yourself to wallow in the feelings of it all for too long - that won’t help and the feelings don’t really mean anything because he is a liar and they are not reciprocated. This whole dynamic is a no-go from my perspective. “Friends” with exes and ex hookups are unnecessary loose ends that serve no purpose in a new relationship. If roles were reversed and you were friendly with a dude you used to hookup with before him, and now liking and following his sexually charged art posts on social media... how would your bf feel about that? The new bride would not even know i was there. [...] The bride isn't aware of my existence. The Hindu girl and him will have a period of 2 months to get to know each other, then only will they be announced as fiances. BUT the wedding is going to happen anyway, both of them have no say in it. She has no idea, and they have no choice. They are not dating. The two month thing is a formality but it doesn’t even matter. It’s a shitty situation for everyone.

Working a 9-5 is less tiring than being a SAHM, wishing to do so because you are “tired” is misguided. You would essentially assume the roles of maid, nanny, and cook (those are THREE separate domestic roles to a “hiring” family, btw) and depending on your partner you will most likely not be respected for any of it AND you lose your agency as a working professional in the future. Look into finding a more fulfilling career opportunity for yourself.

I was in a similar situation with my daughter and now ex husband. It was messy, scary, toxic, and I did not handle it well because I was isolated, in full trauma response mode, and with very limited resources. There is no easy answer unfortunately. The good thing is that he is paying for your rent right now, that at least a sets a standard for alimony once you file for divorce. Instead of forcing him to parent (he is useless, let go of the idea and don’t give him that custodial bargaining power)…

The issue is that his feelings are not mixed. Yours are. In this case he has been clear and explicit with you and admitted to missing your body and touch just before you invited him to your house. You were being irresponsible - knowing that about him and choosing to play with fire. Why? Again, you need to self reflect and figure out why you refuse to just let him go rather than forcing a “friendship” dynamic that isn’t real. Boundaries are on you to enforce.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/02/20 03:42 PM
20

And I just want this behavioral pattern gone. Then adjust your behaviors. Make your boundaries more clear, enforce them, and stop playing with this man (or any man) who has feelings for you. He is not your friend and you know it, he has clearly communicated how he feels and you are stubbornly refusing to accept that for what it is and still invite him into your home and bedroom. Have you asked yourself why?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/02/20 01:07 PM

With that mindset and those issues, you really should not be dating. You will only attract and be attracted to toxic men until you heal and can feel safe and supported on your own and by yourself. Going down the rabbit hole of sugaring and sex work will only worsen your mental and emotional state. I hope you seek therapy for your own well being. You “needing” a man for any reason to sooth your past traumas will be a red flag to any good ones.

Read “The Gift of Fear” by Gavin DeBecker - especially important in your line of work and with you having a history of being shy / not assertive. Predatory men look for that in a woman and you are at a higher risk working late in a hotel. The knowledge in that book can help you find your confidence to become more assertive and also to identify warning signs in problematic men. Good luck!

He is a man who is trying to impress you enough to fuck him eventually. Especially if the kiss didn’t progress because you didn’t want it to. It is not that confusing. Edit: I just saw that you are 21 and he is 41. He is waiting for you to get a little older so that it doesn’t seem as perverted. He is grooming you. Then why don’t you / vegans eat honey? Lol. You contradict yourself in your own replies. Your quote only furthers my point - ALMOND MILK IS HURTING NATIVE AND NON NATIVE BEES. The ethical concern with milk for most people is not that it exploits bees, it's that cows are abused, mistreated, and killed for it. Almond milk does not carry that ethical concern Did you even read my comment or the poster above me? This is a huge pet peeve to me. A man using those pet names immediately, or even at all, shows that he puts women into the same category in his little dick brain. How many “sweetie” or “babes” has he referred to like that 🤢 If it’s the first message, I unmatch. If he starts doing it once we’ve met or later, I correct him by saying that I do not like generic pet names. Then I gauge his response to that, and consider it a strike or worse. It’s a red flag for objectification and probable misogyny.

These fools are lost causes. There is a 100% chance a dude like that will deflect anything you say and write you off as “crazy” or “looking for a free meal” etc. I simply cringe at their depravity, laugh at the ridiculousness, and am thankful for my wits AND for FDS waking women UP to this bullshit by the thousands.

Those comments of his about divorce, false rape claims, and greedy women are major red flags and you did the right thing to end it and block. Your strong visceral reactions (“losing it” “wanting to puke” etc.) are telling of unhealed trauma. Get to work on that for your own peace of mind. Unhealed trauma can ruin good things too. Edit: also just saw that you told him about your trauma. DON’T do that with the next guys you date. Seek a therapist instead.

Yes. This is where the term being “swept off of your feet” comes from. Keep your feet PLANTED FIRMLY in reality and be especially wary of men who make you feel idealistic and dreamy. The thing to remember when feeling magnetism... is that you aren’t the first one to feel it with that guy and you won’t be the last, perhaps even on any given day. These “magnetic” men are usually narcissistic, feed off of the attention they attract (probably NEED it for their egos), and do not temper the power or u…

LOL!! This is a female only sub, hon... the male gaze here is not my audience. I’m not degrading her. I am pointing out that she is posting to a sub called “female dating strategy” and her post content describes that she used zero FDS... yet she’s claiming that she and he are of potentially high value according to the terms? No. It seems the two of you are “on one” together. This post belongs in r/tinder.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 12:49 PM

Yes, fine to have sex without commitment once he has proven value to you and been vetted properly to be awarded such a thing. (Sex without commitment mostly benefits the male...) Do you honestly know if that guy is not married or in a relationship? Maybe he’s a red piller, porn addicted scum who trolls tinder for confused foreigners who don’t check the train times. Maybe you got infected with herpes, accidentally pregnant or something worse and you have NO clue who he is. I don’t understand why …

Listen, I don’t care if you ladies want to give your pussy away to low value fuckboys who troll tinder for women who do exactly that. But don’t call it FDS. She did zero vetting of this man.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 12:41 PM
5

To your edit: Right, so a high value man would have helped you get and/or paid for your hotel or offered you a ride since he spent more than 4 hours waiting for you to touch his pee pee. Again, just pointing out that nothing about this scenario gives him credit beyond LV fuckboy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 12:35 PM

Fine with me if you want to sleep with Tinder fuckboys. It’s your body. But don’t call it FDS, and don’t delude yourself into thinking it is “high value” of you or him by FDS terms either.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 12:33 PM
13

You are delusional. Nothing about your post differentiates him from a LVM, nor did you use any FDS as far as I can tell. You just met this person and gave him easy sex without him having to try very hard at all. Now you are posting here to try to add value to something that is inherently low value on your part as well as his. You discussed male prostitutes on your date? He fucked you in his car? He potentially knew about the train situation and could have easily lied about that. You were irrespo…

Communication is the most important. If you feel that someone has crossed a line or been inappropriate with you during or after training report it immediately. If she were to personally state to a man that she is dating that, for example, she won’t have sex until “commitment” or “three months” etc, that man would then know that if he shows her the appearance of what she seeks in order to sleep with him... he can simply play along until he gets laid... and then proceed to ghost, manipulate, etc. Easy to fake, don’t be mistaken. Never reveal your hand. Edit: grammar
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/02/20 03:08 AM

Your info is second hand anyway - you didn’t see it yourself. Mind your business and let her be dumb.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/02/20 12:00 AM

Absolutely not. Never reveal your “hand” or give a man clues as to how he can manipulate or control you. Uphold your personal values, command respect and do not waver. It’s best not to discuss FDS terms whatsoever with men in real life. Edit: there is plenty about this in the sidebar / handbook. Keep reading.

The point of this post is not to ban people you don’t “like or agree with” but to bring awareness to the “report” feature for abusive, inappropriate, coercive, or threatening behaviors. Many women just unmatch rather than take action to hold these men accountable. Especially cheaters. See the bullet point list in the post.

It’s good that you are here! It is dangerous to attribute such powerful qualities as being “genuine” or “sincere” to a man (especially to a man) unless they have proven these qualities to be irrefutably true based on their ACTIONS. A FWB is most likely going to distract you, suck energy and probably not be as satisfying as you hope. Invest in a good sex toy and actually focus your energy on leveling up. Then, you’ll be ready to pursue the real thing. Older men... eh... older family friend? Gross.

I don’t think it is a given that he will turn out that way but it is a risk. If you raise him right and set a good example for him and hold him responsible for his actions and emotions, and you guide him toward positive male role models to look up to (you are obviously on the right track) then great. Unfortunately a lot of single mothers with sons don’t behave that way.

Good point. I actually fell for this exact thing and didn’t pick up on the red flag in her post. I fell for a dude who was raised by single mom, totally coddled by her, no father figure, etc. He also took care of mommy through cancer. He was the most “romantic” charming man until we married and I fell pregnant. I didn’t create the options, haha. I do not align with forever girlfriend mentality either. Vet your men, if you find a good one, great - marry him! Get that ring... But don’t assume that divorce will ultimately fuck him over OR that the threat of it will keep him in line. That is not how it works most of the time for modern marriages... especially with prenups and high paid attorneys who happily fuck women over on the daily. Go to planned parenthood and explain that you are on your parents insurance and are not covered locally but need confidential testing and guidance. They will help you! Just go ASAP. Yeah it is bad all around, and definitely terrible for growing brains. The prefrontal cortex (critical / rational thinking) is not mature until 25. I’m sure that it is incredibly damaging to give positive feedback loops to the pleasure centers based on the unrealistic shit in porn for years and years before that happens. My 8 year old nephew got caught watching softcore furry porn on his iPad :( sad.

This is an underrated suggestion. Honestly, raising my daughter as a single mother is incredibly fulfilling. His “background info” and public photos or pics he has laying around will not include illicit affairs or hookups. There is really no recipe. It depends on context and his attitudes overall. And the objective maturity / intelligence of the young girl he chooses to pursue. Just because he has not acted on what could be a fetishized behavior prior (you don’t REALLY know if that’s true...) does not mean he is coming from a genuine place of interest rather than a dick-brained motive.

Your post history regarding this relationship is fairly concerning. This guy thinks it’s “hot” that you were coerced into posting nudes online by an abusive ex, and instead of helping you heal from that... participated with you and made videos to add to the account? There are also men of high value who earn low to moderate incomes, but who still act like gentlemen and take care of / properly court the woman they desire. A true HVM will not ever display LVM traits, it is beneath them. That is a LVM manipulating you into thinking that he is better than he is. You are idealizing a situation that has multiple big red flags not to mention multiple pre-existing break ups between you which speaks for itself. Your family and friends don’t like him either? That is an important barometer. His actions (not initiating, planning, maintaining lvm friends, calling police on his own mother for disagreeing...) are troubling and…

Focus on gratitude and the positive aspects at hand - you recognized it for what it was and ended it. You are wiser now. 💯 on all accounts. That’s why too much romance / love bombing is a massive red flag and serial narcissists use it REPEATEDLY to trap new victims and use them as a source of “fuel” - ensuring a steady stream of attention and sex. OR WORSE. It works on SO MANY. TAKE IT SLOW PEOPLE! Emotions are not your friend in life, they must be tempered and reflected upon. You are going to have to work on your dislike of “being alone” regardless of your child. If the man you are referring to is not the father of your child... get your act together until your child is born and stop having casual sex.

Recognizing the pattern is the first step which is great! Next, recognize when you start making excuses for a man to “accommodate” his behavior or life... and simply don’t continue doing that. Do not reward low effort attention. Practice being direct. Learn to say: “No.” or “I have other plans at that time.” Or “what do you have planned for our date?” Or ”that is inappropriate.”

Just have fun! Don’t look down on yourself because your friend is more successful financially. You can focus on improving yourself financially if you want to, or enjoy if your friend doesn’t care how much you make and remains a friend. Or you guys can just keep a tip bidding war going and you’ll get amazing hospitality service everywhere you frequent, haha. You could possibly choose to see it as Cardi having contributed in a positive and friendly way. It means more cash for the server (a server definitely appreciates it if in the US... cash tips are nice!) so a good thing, especially if it’s a place you frequent. It does not have to make you feel inferior.

I agree. I don’t believe in cluttering my life with anything, including useless men who only want one thing. Their attention is empty and meaningless. I concur with everything you said. My ex was large and delicious and I had many earthshaking orgasms with him just from penetration... but I had constant UTI problems. The response can be telling. If speaking in person I would keep the tone innocent and inquisitive rather than accusatory. Think head titled to the side with a smile “why do you ask?” Rather than eyebrows furrowed. It puts the onus on them to explain their probably inappropriate question or change the subject. It is disarming rather than aggressive. I’d say a defensive response to this posture is a good filter to block and move on.

There is a space past the negative feelings, a space of peace and empowerment. It’s natural to feel anger and resentment and bitterness as we as women begin to realize the oppressions and games we have all tolerated and been conditioned to accept.
