Learning to defend myself - Started muay thai 1.5 years ago, best decision I have ever made It is an incredibly liberating feeling knowing that you could take ~95% of the population, and also that you can recognise skill in a fighter very quickly and perhaps decide to get out of a situation. I think this has a lot of subconscious levels behind it. I never feel threatened by the physical presence of another man now - I feel calm and collected knowing that I can handle myself. Boxing or muay thai …

Mike, I enjoyed this post. An area I am trying to improve on at the moment is acquiring the mindset that "I am enough" Having the opposite mindset (that I need to improve) has been useful and driven me to do great things so far, but it's getting to the point now where it is a little crippling. Instead of going out to day game recently I think "it would be more beneficial for me to stay in and work"... Can you give me some advice about steps you took to cultivate this mindset of "I am enough" - h…

Yeah exactly - I can tell she thought I was hot. Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response OmLaLa but it is definitely the other way around! As I mention in the post, one person said "I thought you would be shorter based upon your voice", ie you are hotter than I thought you would be... Essentially, it's definitely something about that interaction on the telephone. I spoke to my bro about this though, he's a pretty sensible guy. He told me I was reading too much into it - that…

Pretty sound medical advice here, also it's certainly worthwhile having a blood workup, particularly blood glucose for diabetes, and testosterone level.

Just get 50mg sildenafil (viagra) from your doctor - I use it when I'm with a new girl, and all is good. Don't need after the first few times. It just gives you a little more confidence. I find that the more hard I am, the more aroused I feel, because I feel more powerful. That may seem the wrong way round, like the cart leading the horse, but that is what happens for me. Also it's definitely worthwhile just getting a full bloods workup, particularly blood glucose, particularly if you are middle…

I think the difference in approach here is a lot to do with personality. It sounds like I am quite similar to OP, everything I do from work, to hobbies, to seduction is formulaic, about improvement, and I like to focus on it and put energy into it. I have tried to learn to enjoy the process a little bit more, and I think that does make a difference - so I think your advice is certainly valid. I never go out with the sole purpose of getting girls - I go out to have a good time with mates and just…

You know, I think in the beginner stages it is good to practice maintaining eye contact with everyone, but I certainly think there comes a point where you go beyond that and only make eye contact with someone when you need/want to engage them - arguably this is the more "alpha" thing to do. Sure this guy was a psycho, but holding eye contact is an incredibly intimate/intimidating thing, and if you feel your game is good, perhaps tone it down to girls as you say.

As well as being absolutely hilarious, this is an inspiration of the kind of frame we should be aiming towards. He was witty, funny, never lost his temper - a strong man who is confident in himself. That first line is fantastic - "now here is an example of a brother who is just trying to embarrass me for no reason... no reason at all". I don't know why you've been downvoted.

Hey dude, yeah I have a professional career working on average 50 hours a week, but can range up to 80. I keep this stuff out of work (obviously), generally use daygame when I am going about my day to day life and I see an attractive woman, and nightgame whenever out. Wish I had known about this in uni though, sheeeeiit I would have cleared up.

Not entirely sure why this has been downvoted... it must be too cerebral for most of the clientele on this sub. I am starting to realise that this sub is populated by inexperienced <18 year olds as opposed to men with life experience who can appreciate a post like this. Thanks for this post Goldmund - I just got my copy of Narcissus and Goldmund through the post after reading your article on the book, and I'm really looking forward to reading it during my week off next week.

I've found that when a girl is truly interested in me, even when she is busy she shall make an effort to reschedule eg "I have ___ to do tonight, but how about tomorrow?" However, if a girl is not interested, you get answers without them offering any rescheduling options... "Sorry, I'm busy tonight." I would say always lead, but if you are getting clear signals that she isn't interested, move onto the next girl - ABUNDANCE!

"Je nais se pas quand" - Slang for "je ne sais pas quand" - "I don't know when", as in "one day you're going to translate this message, I don't know when." Nice report though, I really like your thoughts on the origin of wit, and also modelling a character to make yourself charming/witty. I'm going to look into this.

Dude... say no. She has now changed the time, which you agreed to, and is now going to take her mate along... Please don't agree to this, it will make you seem desperate. You need to write this: "Heya, I know you don't know me very well, but that's the point of this hang out! I want to get to know you, and I don't think your roommate being there would help." Then put in some cheesy smiley. If she refuses this, you shouldn't meet her. Just say, I'm sorry to hear that, nice meeting you. She'll be …

This is bad advice. You can't "talk" a girl into getting intimate with you. She either wants to or doesn't. At least I had the balls to be polarising, and not supplicate to her. My frame was that I was physically attracted to her, why should I change my frame? In the end our frames didn't align so she went home. Let me know how it goes when you are in this situation and you try to reason with the girl. I bet she finds it really attractive.

Of course not. I'm just saying we've all said stupid uncalibrated things that we later regret and therefore learn from. Hopefully none of us threaten rape and murder in the same sentence though.

I ordered a sparkling water the other night, and when some alpha prick saw me do it, he turned to me and said "big night then, mate?" in a real sarcastic fashion. I completely blanked him, didn't even look at him - he was pissed and said "well fuck you then" and turned around. A guy with a response like that has issues - I don't need to make them my issues, so I didn't. BOOM. I was drinking non-alcoholic mojitos another night because I wasn't in the mood for getting drunk (work etc). A couple of…

Haha - I've heard a good way to get around this is to just sleep and have sex in the morning... I've never had the situation though where we've not had sex and I stay. I usually feel like I keep some self respect by having the nonchalance to get up and walk... but maybe it's something worth trying.

This has worked before for me, and even when it doesn't she still likes it and it lightens the mood: cheeky smile throughout "you're right, we shouldn't be doing this" kiss on the neck. "And we definitely shouldn't be doing this" kiss on the cheek "and we most certainly shouldn't be doing this" kiss on lips or boobs or whatever As long as she is still laughing, smiling, giving good vibes, I would continue this, but if you feel her stiffening up or getting uncomfortable stop. I always say "have a good day" or "have a good evening". Just wishing people well is a type of metta meditation. I think it just shows you are not a bitter guy and it's a great way of explicitly showing outcome independence. I've read other guys say that sometimes later in the nights, girls you have left like this will come find you - this has actually happened to me once, which was awesome.

Haha I had a similar experience tonight except it was with escalating - I've documented it in a FR here. I'm waiting to see what people think, but I think that the answer is that as a strong man, you should only be doing things you want to do, when you feel like doing them... At the same time, when you are learning this stuff and there isn't too much to lose, I think you need to push yourself as far as you can go, to avoid bending to your scumbag brain which can rationalise your inaction, and al…

Sounds like she is now trying to trap you in a relationship dude... when dealing with her, you need to make sure you have plenty of other options going around, and if she does that whole LMR thing next time you see her, it is my opinion that you need to be ready to walk at the drop of a hat. That's the only way to retain your power and self-respect. I've just had a LMR experience, I'll see the girl once more, but in the meantime I'm going to try to increase my options so that in our interactions…

Sheit brah, I'd never heard of you before but you now have a new follower! The first 15 seconds of my daygame is similar to yours, but then you are 10 times smoother for the rest of the interaction, I think I'll learn a lot from watching more. Loved the whole "most interesting man in the world" theme hehe

Sounds like you are making some deep identity level changes. Nice job. I similarly learnt the hard way that no one wants a follower - you have to lead all decisions in your life, and if some people don't like you leading, well fuck them. You have to cause friction, another way of saying polarise I suppose.

This was useful to read. About two years ago, I read how to win friends and influence people - although it was initially quite successful, I started realising that although the initial part of the conversation was engaging, people soon got bored, because (a) I would keep them talking about themselves (b) I wouldn't say anything to contradict them (c) I wouldn't give to many of my own opinions. I realised that this was not interesting over the past year, and since I've been much more natural, jus…

I almost always use the same pattern when I approach during the day. It goes something like this: "Hey, I was just walking past you/tying my bike up over there/whatever when I saw you walking by and I just had to come over and quickly say hello". I say this slowly and in a measured manner, and I follow with a cheesy charming smile (self-proclaimed charming). Good point, as you build trust, you get into the zone where you can start teasing more than before, this process I think is probably a little slower in daygame, although obviously this isn't the rule.

An example of negatively polarising but not creepy, and a simple line that I use the whole time is "are you single?". Almost all the time girls will apologise with no, we'll smile shake each other's hands saying bye. No creepiness, just pure intent, most girls respect that.

I get what you are saying, believe me I get blown out by many girls during daygame, but much less than when I began. Some have boyfriends, some are in a rush, some are just not in the mood, however very few stop, engage with me and are creeped out. Obviously, a rare few do intrinsically find the notion of being stopped on the street "creepy", perhaps they tell their friends about me "the weird guy" who stopped them. But that's cool with me as long as it is a minority. Nightgame is a little diffe…

Thanks man. The only lines I can think of are the couple I have mentioned above. I've been listening to the blueprint decided by rsd, so my main focus was not going into my head and analysing things as they were happening - this meant that I was quite mindful I think, and you know when you are in a really good conversation you can hardly remember the individual parts, just the whole - it was kind of like that. I think she must have felt that vibe too.

Thing is, you're doing this with girls you know (I assume if they are in your class), and if you've never done it to them before, what you are doing will seem "not like you" and girls are extremely sensitive to that, it seems weird to them when someone is acting like themselves, it seems socially uncalibrated. Compare that to holding strong eye contact with a random girl walking down the street - she is unlikely to say what. She will be thinking woah who the fuck is this guy who's staring at me …

I would always go for the F-close first, and then if there is a logistic reason I can't (eg no room available etc), go for the #-close. Why go for a #-close automatically? If you have set the right frames, whereby you are not judging her for being a slut, whereby you won'y blab to other people at the party, you should be able to go for the SNL (single-night lay), and nothave to settle for a #-close.

You should be making sure to convey a degree of sexual intent throughout the interaction. It's more than just "touching", it's the intent behind the touching that you must convey. Otherwise you are in a situation where she sees you as a non-sexual guy who provides "good conversation" and then suddenly you start trying to hook up with her - her alarm bells go off for lack of social calibration. However if she knows from the start of the interaction that you want to fuck her, she can choose to sta…

If you were a man, I would tell you don't waste your time flirting in text - save it for in person. If someone is attracted to you, why are you wasting your time texting. As a man, I tell the girl where we are going for a date within 2-3 texts. As a girl, if you are finding a new guy flirting via text with you, you should be asking yourself whether he is really a strong enough candidate to be worth your time... but then again, I don't know what value you portray. It is not crucial to get to know…

I agree with this. It doesn't sound like she developed much attraction for you, and then you left to hang with your friends. If both of you were really attracted (if she was attracted to you), things would have escalated there and then. You should have worked on pushing the interaction there and then if you felt there was any sort of chance, not going to hang with your friends.
/r/seduction25/08/14 12:12 AM

I catch myself thinking this sometimes. It's natural to look back at past failures with captain hindsight, however this is just a manifestation of a scarcity mentality.
/r/seduction18/08/14 11:48 PM

This may be true, but I feel like mods should post more constructively. PUA_Baddie, two things - if you do have a "shitty personality", make sure you have an interesting lifestyle, don't make girls your main focus. Job/hobbies, family, friends - these should come first and the girls will follow. Secondly, remember this is a numbers game - you go through runs of shitty lows, and then incredible highs. Persistence distinguishes winners from losers.

I'm the OP of the above article... Thanks for taking the time to clear this up. I think this is the best answer to the question, because it isn't one rule fits all. I now see that one has to base it upon your previous experience with the girl. I met the original girl through daygame - and we then went on a two-three hour date. I suppose it makes complete sense that she hadn't quite made up her mind about me, and she needed a little more time to get to know me - I was a stranger from the street. …

Ok, if you are getting indicators of interest, that is a good sign that you would b safe to ask. Otherwise, you are not on her radar and you are probably safer leaving it... This is what I would do. How much of your time does this waste though? In daygame, I aim to screen for girls who are receptive, and spending 10minutes flirting with a girl who has a bf is counterproductive to that goal.

Out of interest, how often do you get to a point where she tells you she has a bf quite far into her set, and things stop there? What do you use to try to counteract that and what is your success rate?

"Are you single?" No - "Nice meeting you, have a great day." (With a girl you probably won't interact with again). Yes - "cool" continues conversation It's not her responsibility to tell you this. Girls with boyfriends fucking love getting a little attention and flirtation - they rarely get a chance. And they don't give a fuck if they are wasting your time, because they don't consider this for a moment. You need to take responsibility for the precious resource of your time. If you don't respect …

Well... I am generalising, but my impression is that most of them do, particularly as they approach the age of my cohort, mid-twenties...

Hmmm... possibly the only time someone has called my mom a c*ksck*r and my response has been "interesting".

This post is about how my paradigm has changed - but it will not be new reading for a lot of people here. I have found that as one understands game better, one cares less about the quantity and more about the quality. As this thought had started burgeoning, I read the above article, which is rather fascinatingly game advice for women! It blew my mind. This guy is directly recommending women NOT to sleep with guys on the first date- whereas up until now, if a girl didn't sleep with me on the firs…

I've noticed that the second I leave my car, I have to speak to the first people I see. The trick is to get your social momentum up before you even get to the club/bar. The reason being is that you don't want to spend any time in the bar not speaking to people because of AA - girls notice shit like that subconsciously and you suddenly become one of those weird guys on the sidelines staring at everybody - worst feeling in the world. Or if you can go to some piece of shit bar to warm up in, then h…

This may indicate that you're not building enough sexual tension...

Not to make you feel bad, but genuinely both are bad. Firstly you are using IM to form rapport and a connection, and there is nothing worse than IM for connecting. For this reason, it is a waste of time to practise it. Your single aim with IM should be to try and get a girl in person, where you can actually look into each other's eyes and perhaps something might actually just happen. Secondly, in both conversations (I'll talk about them as if one person wrote them because they are similar), she …

This is awesome, I'm signing up now. You been to any of their meets?

I would prefer that too, but my bros are either in relationships or don't believe in this stuff (and remain to be AFCs). Can you tell me the details of any lairs you have heard of? I have googled this, but I wanted to hear from people here what their experience was first.

I suppose I wanted to take it further, and thought my chances were good. But you're right, I was acting like a complete AFC.

Hmm, this is certainly valid. It's very hard to remain unfazed though - this comes back to the outcome dependence stuff. I think I should have been more flexible, the moment I got bad vibes from my approach, I should have changed it/lightened the mood and approached a different way. I became too set in my approach...

You know what, that's a really good point. I'm best at one on one planned dates, but she kind of turned it on its head by saying she wanted to dance - I should have controlled the situation better by bouncing to a more suitable place. At the same time, is it valid for me to use the excuse "it's not my thing"? Surely if one person can do it, anyone can do it, and I just need to become comfortable in that arena and learn its skill set...

I'm 24. Started reading seduction community material only in the last few months so probably I am using a lot of terminology.

I'm here because I am learning - pretty sure most people are, right? I know I have weaknesses in my approach. But I'm going to find them, then research the shit out of them, and improve them so they never happen again. In this case outcome independence - a word I have heard bandied around, but never studied. I had an extremely successful seduction two days ago, where I had a first date F-close. Perhaps this is part of the reason I got frustrated that things weren't moving that quickly, but I am …
