I would say that it’s depends. Men with options tend to stay single longer, mainly because they can have sex without relationships so they tend to want to avoid settling down sooner to maximize the number of sexual partners they have. That being said, I’m in medical school and don’t have any problems getting dates and yet I want to start thinking about settling down and starting a family

I can’t speak for every man now can I?

Not every relationship has to lead to romance. Some people just want to fuck around. If they both find each other attractive I don’t see the problem
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/23 11:41 PM

Meh even then I don’t see anything wrong with it. Consenting adults can fuck whoever they want

I’m 28
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/23 10:58 PM

Meh it can be a bit both. Personally I know I want to settle down and have 3-4 kids so means when I look for someone to date I wouldn’t go any older than 25. If we date for 2 years prior to getting married she’ll be 27 and we probably want at least 1 year of being married without kids which means by this point she’ll be 28.

Where are you getting this? Mechanics, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, truck drivers, garbage men, bud drivers…etc all make over 30k as their starting salary
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 08:55 PM

Fair. Med school is pretty much our entire life so most people either meet in the program or through mutual friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 04:56 PM

Well that’s your problem
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 04:14 PM

Why not? If anything it’s better than dating apps because your friends already know a little about the guy

I highly doubt it. If so she’s just shallow, if men can spend money I don’t see why it can’t be the other way around

On average that’s true, but when. The love is there it doesn’t matter

Either way that’s not true. As long as you have a job, women don’t care what it is if you can afford a decent life
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 06:10 AM

No offence but a man would have to dumb to admit outright what he does for a living. When women ask me what I do I either say “student” or “healthcare professional”. Maybe some guys are desperate enough to use their career to impress woman, but I personally find it to be prostitution with extra steps
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 06:09 AM

How do women even find out how much money you make? That topic of conversation doesn’t come up until serious lot in a relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/23 05:16 AM

Why would they?!? Do you think a woman wouldn’t go out with 6’1” muscular rich guy just because he’s not white?

This is interesting I’ll give it a try

Dude people can make 100k a year without higher education if they just join the army
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 12:33 PM

Those people sound completely immature. In a a healthy relationship the high earning woman should understand that guy has a different budget. Similarly, they should realize that it’s not his place to tell his partner how to spend her money. Seems like this entire problem can be solved if people were just a tad more mature

Bro that’s 1 article in 1 newspaper that’s not even reputable. When the Economist/NY Times wrote something like that I’ll believe it
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:57 AM

That goes against every comment the people who disagree with me have been making
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:56 AM

Probably true for some of them, but then again women would prefer to have a guy whose funny and attractive rather than just one or the other
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:56 AM

I tend to agree. Money and status can be a nice bonus, but my point is that it’s not everything
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:55 AM

Men also do the same thing with looks, what’s your point? Should the state force women to date men that they’re not attracted to?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:54 AM

Unless you throw money around people aren’t going to know right away that your rich…and guys that do are typically compensating for something and turn women off

None of that has to do with the marriage of average men
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:32 AM

They both have a passion for music? Duh An IG model will probably marry a male model because they’re both attractive…and guess female models make more than male models
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:31 AM
2

I feel bad for you
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:25 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:23 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 11:23 AM

Okay it’s not all or nothing. If she’s making 250k she can work a less stressful job for 150k. Lawyers do it all the time. Instead of practicing law they end working for the firms recruitment team at a 9-5 pace

Well then maybe Bob should move to the Midwest where housing is more affordable. The point is that once you can live independently the money doesn’t matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:29 AM
1

Agreed! One my colleagues in medical school is even dating a male teacher
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:27 AM
2

Well you’re incredibly shallow. I hope your comfortable dating a guy that only cares about your looks (assuming you’re attractive) and is prepared to bake on you the moment someone younger/prettier comes along just like how you would leave a man who lost his job
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:24 AM

You have a toxic mentality. Cuckolding is a male porn fetish for guys that are closetedly gay, no women are into that shit
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:21 AM
1

Curious is a woman makes 250k why would she turn down a guy makes 100k? Together they have a household income that’s more than enough to have a comfortable life. One of my female classmates is dating a guy whose going to become a teacher make way less than her and she doesn’t seem to care
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:21 AM

Lol bro med is a female dominated field these days. Im telling you what classmates have told me
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:18 AM

Then why does height matter
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:18 AM

The exception doesn’t disprove the rule. If anything the fact that she already had money suggests that they had some connection aside from money
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:17 AM

This is a lie. No woman would marry a man that couldn’t hold down a job

Where the hell did you get this??? If 75th percentile is the benchmark than how is that virtually everyone gets married
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:12 AM
2

Well those people need to realize they can’t have it all. If you’re going to marry, love the person your with and be ready to commit to them otherwise stay single
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:11 AM
2

Agreed that money/status is a bonus. It will help you get girls, but my point is that it by itself is not enough
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:10 AM
-9

It doesn’t. Women are more tolerant than men and care more about social issues like discrimination
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:03 AM
1

Absolutely not. Women are more tolerant than men and are open to dating men of all ethnicities. There’s a reason why it’s so common to see a black guy dating a white girl and not the other way around
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:02 AM
1

You said a woman would dump an electrician for a manager who makes less money…the implication being that being an electrician isn’t cool
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:01 AM
0

Umm no. When a girl gets a boyfriend her friends are happy for her because now they can be set up with his friends
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 06:00 AM
1

What does that have to Dow rig money/status?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:59 AM
0

Disagree. I’ve had multiple women tell me they swiped right because my bio was witty/made them laugh
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:57 AM
1

I know that 300k will provide someone with a much better quality of life. But money can’t buy unconditional love. Most women would rather be with someone who makes them happy than rich
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:56 AM
1

You’re insane. No girl would ever date someone whose unemployed and refused/couldn’t hold down a job
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:54 AM
1

So women can’t have careers?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:54 AM
-1

Maybe the left you because you’re not an emotionally warm person
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:53 AM
1

That’s was my point. If you have a full time job and a sound work ethic looking to move up you’re fine
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:51 AM
1

Okay true you have be over the floor. But how hard is it for people to break 6 figures? He’ll I’d say that so long as a guy is earning 75k it’s a non issue
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:48 AM
0

I’d rather date an average looking girl who was really cool and shared a lot of my interests rather than a hot bimbo
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:47 AM
1

Umm I’ve dated girls who were bar tenders/servers, yoga instructors, teachers…etc that weren’t making much money
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:47 AM
2

Gold diggers are not most women. I guarantee you women are attracted to the intelligence, ambition, work ethic…etc. that comes with having a cool a job rather than the job itself. If anything I would say most women would repeat a middle class family law lawyer who follows his passion rather than marrying a high end wealthy real estate agent
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:45 AM
-1

That is some toxic thinking
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 05:40 AM
5

Maybe they were happy at the time and then became unhappy. Things can change over time. Doesn’t mean they settled when getting married
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:45 AM
1

That’s not what you said. Either way sure it’s a bonus, but if a girl is a dating a guy without status and is perfectly content and loves him she’s going to dump him
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:44 AM
1

No way. There’s no chance a girl leaves a guy whose gainfully employed just because his job isn’t cool
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:43 AM
2

Sometimes status and career are tied together (ex: doctors, lawyers, actors, athletes…etc)
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:42 AM
3

So in your expert opinion what’s the breaking point? When will a woman dump her bf (that she loves) for a man she doesn’t that makes more money? 10k? 20k? 30k? 50k? 100k?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:41 AM
3

Disagree. People would rather stay single than settle
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:38 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:37 AM

So if status matters so much, how do all the average guys get married genius?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:22 AM

If you think a woman will marry a guy she doesn’t like instead of a nice guy who makes less money you’re crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:21 AM

I’m not saying girls will marry a homeless guy, but they wouldn’t care if he’s a teacher or a doctor if the love is there

Wut?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/23 02:15 AM

No shit. Obviously something that’s near perfect isn’t as good as perfection. If the entire point of your post is to say that non-Chads have a harder time dating than Chad that goes without saying. However, I don’t think it’a any harder now that it was a generation ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/23 02:12 AM
1

The majority of what?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/23 02:10 AM
1

You’re clueless. Regular guys can get one night stands on tinder
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/23 12:24 AM
2

You’re on drugs. There are plenty of above average non-Chad men that do just fine. Once you meet a woman’s minimum criteria (tall, in shape, relatively good looking) personality takes over. You’re better off being the guy whose an 8/10 in terms of looks and personality rather than a 10/10 looks and 5/10 personality. As much people like to objectify women and slut shame them, no woman is going home with a guy whose awkward/untrustworthy
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/23 11:26 PM
2

Hard disagree that most of women still look in their 40s. Sure there are super models and celebrities that can still look hot at 40 but that’s only because of Botox and other cosmetic surgery. Also this post assumes that the average woman is someone that most guys are attracted to. This isn’t to say that the average woman UNATTRACTIVE (she’s not, by definition average is the middle of the pack) but guys wouldn’t rush to be in relationship with her either. In my experience guys sleep with the ave…

Okay but aren’t black men taller than white men?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/23 10:01 PM

The problem is that men will LIE to women about their motives when asking them out (pretending to want a long term relationship when really they’re just looking for a hookup). Meanwhile women generally want a long term relationship. Therefore, a man who wants a long term relationship will have an easier time finding one than a woman since they don’t have to filter through the lies. It’s not a question about being undateable, it’s about that men choosing not to seriously date and lowering the opt…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 06:02 AM
1

Right but they don’t make up the majority….therefore it’s generally the case that women want LTR
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 05:06 AM
1

On what planet do you live on where women would prefer a hookup to a meaningful long term relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 05:01 AM
2

A lot of this is more than 10+ years old. Surely Aristide’s have changed since then
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:57 AM
1

Do you have any statistics to back this up?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:27 AM
1

What exactly do you mean by the difference of LTR suitors? Are you talking about the number? If so that’s just normal because guys always make the first move.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:26 AM
-1

I literally never said anything close to that. I’m saying men lie to get sex (which is true) and that women generally want long-term relationships (also true). The result of this is that they are choosier. Women can absolutely lie and be manipulative too, but that isn’t an issue here. Women usually don’t need to lie to get casual sex, and if you’re in a long-term relationship with a liar eventually they’ll slip up and you’ll figure it out
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:25 AM
1

I’m never advocating for people to stay in an unhealthy relationship. If anything long-term relationships work because both parties found the right match
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:23 AM
2

Well then those men should date women with careers so they don’t have that pressure. You can’t have it all. You can’t expect to be with the super hot yoga instructor/hair stylist and not be stressed about financially supporting the both of you. If it’s such a concern, more men should date “average looking girls” who actually have a real job
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:22 AM

Thank you for your helpful comments
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:20 AM

Pretty sure men care about about a woman’s race more so than the reverse. I’m a white male (in a female dominated industry) and everyone of guy friends pretty much only finds white and Asian women attractive. Meanwhile most white women will date men of any race (I observed this with me female friends as well).
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/22 03:20 AM
-1

Bingo. The whole point of this post is that being a Chad isn’t a hard and fats rule and that average guys can still do okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/22 06:03 PM

The point is that even average looking guys can get sex without a relationship. You just agreed with me that some of them can. It’s not Chad’s or bust. I’m not a Chad and do just fine.

Therefore men can in fact get sex without being in committed relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/22 05:37 PM

Wtf?!? I call BS there’s no way the average guy finds 80% of women attractive. I swipe on maybe the top 20% and still get a few matches a week.

There’s nothing wrong with being in a committed relationship to get sex. If anything it encourages people to find a genuine connection. I don’t see the problem. Online dating isn’t the only way to meet women. If the average guy isn’t getting matched through online dating, he should try something else (like go to a bar) or hit the gym so he’s not the average man.

I’ll grant you that being a university makes it easier to get laid, but honestly not by much. Yes there are more young woman around but if they’re also busy with school work. If you go to a trendy bar in a big city after work it will likely be just as easy to meet women. Without sounding vain yes I meet a lot of characteristics of what’s considered to be attractive (6’1”, 15% body fat, broad shoulders). I’m not a male model, but when (female) classmates showed pictures of me to their friends set…

So when exactly is someone off the market? If you go a couple dates and have sex does that count as not being on the market? I wouldn’t say so. So long as the conversation about monogamy hasn’t been had both parties are free to see whoever they want. There’s nothing wrong with guys going on a couple dates first to get sex.

/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/22 04:38 PM

Maybe you’re being too picky? If the only girls you swipe on are the 10/10 models it’s only normal for it to be harder to get a date

Step 1: Download Tinder Step 2: Swipe Step 3: Get matches Step 4: Chat/filter out the flakes Step 5: date the ones you like

Tons of women guys less attractive than them. In serious relationships there are more important things than looks

Looks don’t matter as much as guys think. Confidence is key

1) Women have given great advice when it comes to dating so I have no idea what you’re talking about. 2) The reality is that dating is a lot more competitive for men than woman so either step or don’t play the game. I’m 6’1” with 15% body fat and in med school and whenever I approach a girl at a party the chances of her going with him are still only 50-50. I’ve had a lot of fun inviting girls to dog parks and I’m not going to lower myself just because other men are too lazy to play on the same l…

Okay and some bud do the same things to their Bros once they get in a gf. It’s not a gender issue
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/22 08:56 AM

So instead of being immature about things men should just take things personally and never grow or move forward?

I’m saying that men take being friend zoned as insult and when the opportunity to make female friends come up they get all defensive and throw it away. I’m not saying that men CANT have female friends, I’m saying that they’re mostly not willing to

So a man can’t be friends with a woman that already has a boyfriend? Me: “Hi, I noticed you’re quite artistic. You’re very talented. I’ve been sketching for a few years but mine are never as good yours, how do you do get the fine lines and details so perfect?” Her: gives a detailed explanation. Me: “Wow that’s very interesting. I’d love to show you some of my sketches sometime” Her: “You’re very sweet, but sadly I have a boyfriend and I don’t think he’d be comfortable with that” Me: “No worries …

So you the women you ask out on dates don’t a have personality that’s compatible with yours? That sounds like you answered your own question and have bigger problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/22 08:03 AM

And my point is that as long you’re not leering or creepily staring at the girl and have normal social skills the vibe will be fine. This isn’t to say that every girl will be interested, but most will probably have a polite conversation and some may give you their phone number if you’re AVERAGE LOOKING and NOT CREEPY.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/22 06:04 PM

If you’re personality really is as welcoming as you claim, then you must be significantly below average in terms of looks. The average woman is not going to turn down a date with someone she enjoys talking too unless he’s far below average looking
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/22 03:15 PM

Emphasizing superficial things isn’t a problem if it doesn’t lead to rejection. Also while she is attractive, part of the reason why I asked her out is because we have other things in common as well
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/22 02:41 PM

If you’re a good looking guy who can’t find a date you must have an intolerable personality (or vice versa). If not a single girl out there will date you there has to be a reason for it

Women aren’t the ones complaint that they can’t get dates
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/22 06:13 AM

You don’t have to “stand out” you have to be your genuine self and let personality/character/chemistry you naturally develop do the heavy lifting for you. Girls may give you a fake number SOMETIMES but those aren’t counted in the 10% that a success, they’re part of the 90% that rejected you. So to get 1 date the average Elgin has to ask out 10 women. That’s less than 1/month… Again I still think it’s higher. I’d estimate that 25% of the time a guy can get a girls number and that’s with me being …

Well then maybe focusing on finding girls that don’t
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/22 12:12 AM

First off I don’t go around telling people I’m a med student in every conversation that’s just weird. Second, the fact that you said that your success rate is 10% proves my point. Ask out 10 girls and 1 will say yes. As long as you have decent social skills it possible to do without flexing your (future) careers. Lastly, no relationships are not transactional. They should never be seen that way.

Im not saying it works all the time but here’s a general breakdown: 25% - give a 1 word answer, and convert they’re not interested…which is completely fine. 50% - smile politely, we chat for awhile and get to know each other. If they’re with friends they’re body language converts that they don’t mind if I sit and I join them but in the end they already have boyfriends/are not romantically interested 25% - The last quarter or so are the ones that end up being interested because WE HAVE THINGS IN …

Wtf?!? As long as you’re not creepy about it I don’t see why that’s the case. If you’re at the beach/park/walking trail and it’s a common public place for people who don’t know each other I don’t see how expressing interest in someone else is a bad thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 07:56 PM

Okay let’s say that’s true. Would your daughter really not go out with a guy she otherwise finds attractive because he lied about his height by an inch? I’m willingly bet she probably wouldn’t care so long as he was still taller than her
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 07:27 PM

Right but guys can always hit the gym. By your logic a woman would prefer a jacked black guy to a jacked white guy so it comes down to effort
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 07:21 PM
1

Do you have any statistics to suggest that white men do better than black in dating or is of all just personal experience?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 06:22 PM
1

I have no idea what you’re talking about with SMV. Also given that in most liberal cities women see white men as part of oppressive patriarchy, wouldn’t that mean that they’re less likely to date them?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 06:13 PM
1

So if you met a woman that you enjoy talking to, have the same taste in movies, music, and cuisine, had a good job, was very easy going, and was your perfect match in every conceivable way except for her looks you wouldn’t date her?!? Man you’re shallow as hell
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 06:07 PM

I have a feeling that you’re the exception and not the rule…

We’re both in medical school so we’re on the same level and neither of us are born rich. We’re financing our education through debt
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 05:59 PM

So women aren’t attracted to the average looking guy? If that’s true the human race would die out
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 05:57 PM

You can attract women with a bio. Also your personality be conveyed by photos (the things you do and the people you’re with)
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 11:52 AM
1

I highly doubt that looks and personality are seen as the same. 2 men can both be attractive and have wildly different temperaments. If one guys is a risk taker and super outgoing and adventurous meanwhile the other is more reserved and less talkative, an introverted girl would likely have better chemistry with the later. Also if black men are seen as being more manly, and being manly is seen as “Chad” quality wouldn’t that be advantageous?

How many men out there do you think can cook? I’m not talking a crappy omelet or pancakes from a mix, I mean real cooking like risotto, beef stroganoff…etc. probably like 1% of men if that. On top of that he’s a talented musician and finds the time to take care of his dog while being in med school. You’re out of your mind if you think any random person has those capabilities and time management skills. If a girl only cares about looks she isn’t the person a self-respecting man should be dating a…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 11:33 AM

So it’s okay to use the fact that you’re in med school to get laid but not find a girl friend? That’s disgusting
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 11:27 AM
2

But that begs the question, is smart to get into a long term relationship with a girl who would’ve swiped left if you weren’t a med student? I’d argue no
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:45 AM

Pretty sure he was referring to dick size so that can be objectively measured…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:43 AM

Personality is not the only thing, but an average guy with a great personality will do just fine. I get that your career is a major part of who you are, but why not just tell the girl what you do after a couple dates?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:37 AM
2

Ok well I don’t know what apps you’re using but tinder doesn’t allow to filter by height so that’s a moot point. When a woman sees a guy real life chances are she won’t know the difference between 5’10”-6’
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:36 AM
1

Disagree. Guys can always go to Toastmasters to practice public speaking. He’ll half the battle is just not being creepy and saying something normal like “Hi how’s your day going?” if you see a woman you’re interested in at the park or whatever
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:31 AM
1

Correct if I’m wrong but aren’t African Americans seen as more manly? Wouldn’t this make them more appealing with the whole Chad persona? Edit: also slightly above average isn’t exactly a high bar. Instead of being ahead of 50% of the male population you now have to be in the top 40% oh the horror!
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 10:25 AM

Med is a female dominated program and none of the girls I know in it have ever hooked up with a complete idiot/stoner loser. Sure the had one night stands with guys they found attractive that had blue collar jobs, but those men at least had something going for them
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 09:20 AM
1

Yes I consider it to be unethical. You’re flexing your career to attract women when in reality they should like you for you. If someone really loves you they don’t care what you do for a living.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 09:10 AM

But does a minor distinction rally matter? How many women would really turn down a 5’11” guy because they want someone 6”?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/22 09:09 AM
