STBX finally requesting temporary support (and is crazy)I would try to look at the money stuff as just business that needs to get sorted. Try to get a good deal, but try not to get into psychological battle with the ex. Lawyers advocate to get as much as possible for their client because that's how they get paid. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/04/22 05:53 AM
I feel like I'm moving in the wrong direction with healing.Learning about an affair is traumatic. It's ok to be pissed as hell. I was so mad when I found out there was another man in my wife's life. I got drunk everyday for a couple of months and felt horrible. But not too long after, I was able to let it go and just focus on the divorce and my kid. We're all confused humans trying to find happiness and we all behave badly at times. My ex is still with the guy and I actually kinda like the dude. I am also thankful it's him and not me dealing with her cr… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/22 08:43 PM
Any advice on the first stepsDoesn't seem like there's that much to divide up. If you think she will agree with the divorce, you can create a divorce agreement online and have a lawyer look it over before you file. You probably won't owe alimony for such a short marriage. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/02/19 10:20 AM
Splitting custody days in half? Thanks. Yeah. I tried that. Wife is currently really freaked about not seeing him for multiple days in a row. He's 4. Seems be doing good with the back and forth. Once I get this half day thing out of the way I'll probably work on getting a 2-2-3 schedule past the goal posts. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/02/19 03:02 PM
When did you remove the ring?Lost mine. Wife got me a new one but that was the month I found out she was texting a dude in secret so I gave it back. Not sure what happened to it after that. She probably returned it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/19 04:36 AM
Splitting custody days in half? Thanks yeah. From what I've read: frequent transitions are good for young kids but bad for older. My son is 4. He is doing pretty great so far. The half days just seem crazy to me. I've worked out a schedule that I think meets all her needs and covers her work days and doesn't split days. I think she just doesn't understand. She has a day where she drops him off and picks him up from school but I'm responcible inbetween (if he is sick or school is closed). LOL. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/19 01:36 AM
Overspending & Dead BedroomFor me, her overspending killed my desire to have sex. The anxiety caused by financial instabilty and her unwillingness to address it, caused me to withdraw. Of cource that's a one sided take. Life is complicated. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/02/19 06:26 AM
Wife keeps asking for a divorce and then changing her mind. Should I stay or should I go?I feel like I should preface my thoughts with the fact that I am a feminist and I love my ex wife. I am also glad we are separated. It sounds like your wife's bluff is a power play. Set up an appoinment with a mediator. Show her that this is serious shit, not a game. My wife begged me for a seporation for months, now that she has it, she's not sure it was a good idea. But mostly I think she misses the security, not the man. Her idealized view of love and marriage always trumped my practical view… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/19 05:08 AM
So lostMy marriage began with losing our baby at 7 months. A still birth. We tried again and had a Wonderfull little boy. But the relationship was always riddled by hardship. My wife and I never found a rhythm that worked. We argued about everything. Sometimes two people love each other but don’t work together. It’s no ones fault. I find peace in that I am no longer subject to the criticisms and argumentation. I am saddened by what our 4-year-old child is enduring since we separated. | 1 | 1 Day BeforeYup. This letter is just fuel for an argument. Let it go. Your feelings are yours. Not hers. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/01/19 04:25 AM
Everything's coming up roses!Congrats! I kinda hope my wife will find someone good to make her happy. We weren’t very good at being happy together. I also hope she has learned some lessons so she doesn’t destroy the poor bastard. Lol. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/01/19 01:32 AM
Based of your own experience, Has getting divorced change your outlook on marriage?Yeah that’s where I am too. I was happier before the marriage. Plus it’s godamn expensive to get married. But I’m glad we had a kid. Being a Dad is great. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/01/19 08:10 PM
Rant: Why are men Always getting fucked so bad in divorce?I feel your pain. You were treated very unfairly. But don’t let your situation cloud your understanding of all women and society as a whole. Modern societies are slowly self-correcting the inequalities between the sexes. But there are side-effects along the way. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/01/19 03:17 PM
Did any of you guys use anti depressants to get through the worst part of it?I switched up what I was taking before. Definitely helps. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/19 04:26 AM
One Question for Currently Separated or Divorcing Guys.Don’t move out of the family house until divorce is final is a good one. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/01/19 03:40 PM
Counting the days...Full custody to her? That would be very hard for me (or anyone, really). | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/12/18 10:53 PM
The Debt QueenYes,I’ve started to realize I am an enabler. It’s hard because no one incident by itself seems all that bad. But together these choices have really hurt us. She also has some legit issues with me that (being distant, not very romantic, etc) but I think her money issues are hurting everyone. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/12/18 02:28 PM
Wife left me for someone elseI’m in a similar situation, but still in limbo and we have a 4 year old. Set your sights on the future. There is still a lot to look forward to. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/12/18 03:01 PM
Stuck in limboHighly recommend counseling. Just started myself and had been adverse to it before. It’s really got me working on some things where I was stuck before. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/11/18 05:08 PM
STBX only cares about being the fun parent.Sorry you are in this situation. Stay strong. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/11/18 02:32 PM
Stuck in limboThat sounds very hard. But you do need to take care of yourself too. Talking to her about it is the first step. It won’t be easy, but it’s important that she understands that she’s not the only one who is unhappy. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/11/18 03:18 PM
I guess I'm a statistic now...I feel ya. In the same purgatory. But at 43. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/11/18 04:08 PM
