Well, since they can’t really invite them to their house (aka moms house) for the 1st date, these are legitimate concerns. They’ve never paid for food for themselves so paying for someone else is really difficult. And when mom usually gives you $5 for the Taco Bell box and you ask for $20, tough questions are going to come up for sure.

I do not have any knowledge of your situation but if my story can help I want to share it. I suffered from chronic migraine and what helped was getting off of hormonal birth control and getting my sleep apnea handled. The birth control was the big one for me though. I hope you can find relief. Migraine is a debilitating disease. I’m diabetic now but I feel like I’m in better shape then what I was when dealing with chronic migraines.

Google cleaning your washing machine as well. It sounds counterintuitive but a musty/residue filled washer will not produce fresh clothes.

I think that people don’t even comprehend how much a baby changes your life and how much work they are. I had a supportive, helpful, hands-on partner but even then I was overwhelmed. No matter how great your partner is there are times you will look at them sleeping peacefully while you’re breastfeeding at 3 am and want to smother them to death. That added stress will not save a rocky marriage and might even mess up a stable one.

I’m old and married 20 years this year so maybe my perspective isn’t the best for your question but my experience is that you’re focusing a lot on his pleasure and not your own. A lot of men really love to see you get pleasure, the kind that you have no control of your vocals, your facial expressions and your body. Every guy loves a blow job so don’t stop but give him something that no girl has never given him: you yourself writhing in ecstasy.

Personally, I wouldn’t say anything today in case he has something planned. If he does nothing then tmrw or when it’s a good time to talk, you can tell him honestly what you are feeling. I disagree with other posters who say you should just be thankful for what he does on a daily basis. We all do tons for our partners as they do for us. My daughter came out as gay to us a few months ago. While certainly not my preference (life can be tougher now) and something I did not see coming, I know that I will support her and love her regardless. You can’t “teach” sexuality. I promise. What you can do, is create and environment where your kid is scared to talk to you and may really end up getting hurt trying to sneak around or suppress who they are. I wish you luck in getting compliance from your kids but I don’t think it’s up to you.

I’m so sorry. My best advice is when people offer help, TAKE IT. Now is not the time to worry about being a burden or if you’re being annoying or whatever. If someone offers to make dinners, say yes. If someone offers to take the kids off a bit. Say yes. Also hire an attorney. I wish you peace.

I agree with this about the social media so much. I would scroll through Instagram and think, when did everyone become so gorgeous? They’re not-the effort, poses, filters etc that are put into some stuff is INSANE. Don’t compare yourself to what is, in essence, a complete fabrication.

Be friendly with them, you’d be surprised—they are just people who may have gotten a better shell, but on the inside you may be more alike than you think. And I will say that grooming and how you dress, do your makeup/hair, your teeth and how you carry yourself can be a huge part of your “attractiveness”. Being slim is a great start!

Again, I’m happy for you and that this works so well for you. Eta: I am curious if you and he have children together? With kids this just doesn’t seem workable, but if you’re childless then I think this independent way of life would work well with each person only doing what they want.

You can’t get someone to lead. The very statement is the exact opposite of what you’re asking. Don’t get him to lead, let yourself be led. And if that turns your stomach a bit (I struggle with this as well) then it’s not going to work. Lead by being led with all faith that the man you married and had a child with is capable of being a leader. If you can’t give up control then you have to either accept things as they are (and they won’t change) or leave. It’s that easy and that hard.

I don’t know but I know of two guy friends who have mentioned multiple times that they didn’t like that their wives didn’t have college degrees. They married those women anyway and I think that opinion is more a reflection of their own insecurities.

There was some study done a while back that I wish I could remember but it basically found that men (all ages) found their wives to be more attractive by some wide margin than the women themselves did. Essentially, love goggles are a real thing. 😍

I admire your self-awareness, kindness and generosity with no expectation of anything in return. My question is if he brings home a young woman and they are being affectionate and flirty, how will you feel? I am 100% behind your motivation but I still feel like you need to protect yourself a bit. Please don’t set yourself up to be embarrassed or ridiculed. It’s not a common movie theme for nothing.

Met in college. I was 20 and he was 28. He had done two tours in the AF and was going to school on GI bill. We both worked at a restaurant (he was a bartender and I was a hostess). We started dating after 6 months of being friends. For those 6 months we never were intimate but flirty. I never dated anyone during that time and he saw who I was and my values. I was definitely not riding the CC and was working hard to get good grades. After a few months when I went to his place he showed me a drawe…

I do well in the summer as I wear a lot of dresses etc. Winter/cold weather is what I struggle with. Sweatpants, a T-shirt and sweaters or sweatshirts keep me warm (and my Captain likes the lower heating bill!) but don’t look very feminine or attractive. I am 8 years younger than my husband so when we met (me 20 and him 28) it was easy for him to be the captain and I his first mate. I was always feminine, but was not on the “marriage path” although when I met him I knew he was the man I would marry. He was hesitant in proposing and I was fine with that. I had an internship I had to complete for college so I accepted one 10 hours from home and just went on with my life. That summer he cane to visit and proposed. I wasn’t playing hard to get but I…

This is my analogy: Say that I like Mercedes, I LOVE Mercedes. I have committed my whole life to only having and driving a Mercedes. I did not read the post as I can’t access it from mobile but I cook every single day of the week except for Friday which is Disney Movie and pizza night for the family. We go out to eat sometimes but it is rare. I personally love cooking and feeding people. It brings me a lot of satisfaction watching people enjoy my food and if women are saying they are proud they can’t cook, they’re really missing out on a fulfilling aspect of life. Feminism is about being allowed to choose and not being condemned for your choice. I’m not sure what your pseudo-intellectual, “woke” wall of text was trying to say but have at it.
/r/RedPillWomen25/01/19 05:00 AM

I consider myself a feminist in that I don’t think any sex (gender?) has any greater inherent quality than the other. However, I do believe we are very different. I don’t need to be a man or do things that men do, just as men don’t need to women and do things women do. True feminism to me is having a choice, and any “feminist” that says that being a great wife and mother isn’t feminist is not really a feminist herself. I hope this makes sense.

My husband works in finance and he can easily work 60-80 hour weeks. I’m not going to lie and say it hasn’t been hard-especially after kids. I had many years of resentment and feeling like he lived his job more than us-i had to change my viewpoint that he is doing what he has to do to provide for us and set us and our kids up for an easier life. I'm old (41) and have been married 17 years as of a few days ago. :-) I hate to be a cliche but I did meet my husband in college. I was raised in a SE Asian household (not sure if that is a factor) and we (4 daughters) were always expected to have our hair look nice, clothes, makeup when we were older and jewelry. I've always loved doing makeup (on myself and others) but feel like you should have nice enough skin and confidence to go out bare-faced and still look good. That said, I always hear guys say they like girls better without makeup so maybe after hearing that, some gals have really taken it to be the truth?

The day that "skank" shows up in Emily Post, please let me know. Until then, it's a base and low class way to refer to anyone. A Lady does not speak in this way in her daily life whether she is on the Internet or conversing with colleagues or company. Disagree all you like but when you Google a term and the first search result is Urban Dictionary, then perhaps you should rethink your manner of speech. I stand by my original statement.

You can remind them ONCE, and I mean ONCE, and then you have to believe that you picked a partner who is capable of being a grown adult, holding down a job, etc. and if they don't do that thing, then it's because they are choosing not to. I do, however, believe that there are situations when people (man or woman) will ask you to remind them and so when that thing doesn't happen/get done, they can blame you for not reminding them as opposed to themselves for not being responsible enough to do it.…

Let's be honest and admit that "reminding" is another word for "nagging." I used to do this too in other things and rationalize it that it was a reminder and not nagging, but it is. No one wants to be treated like a child, especially the person we are supposed to look to as our Captain. Even though you know that being overweight is unhealthy, you CANNOT control someone else's behavior.
