Well, first of all you should define what "toxic" means for you. Because this adjective is very popular building block for the facade of retrogrades, degenerates and neomarxists. Then you put antitesis for this concept into the head of your kid.

First and foremost; lead by example.

Then, don't force anything on them. They are going to explore the world, that's a part of how we learn and grow. Anything you try to Force will get push back. Live your life and your children will have that as a base wherever they go.

Make sure you allow them space to be open-minded and reflect on what they feel in their gut. All we can do as parents is give them the tools and be a good example. They have to do the rest.

I think working through your own toxicity and being honest and open with your kids helps. Also teaching them to understand their own emotions at a young age and that adults arent infallible.

We (my husband and I want to give our kids a strong foundation for what we strongly believe is the truth. Yes, eventually they will absolutely decide what is true for themselves. We even talk to them that we don’t know everything and we are always learning more. However- again I believe in a strong foundation. We do homeschool. Public schools have an agenda (nothing is every neutral there’s always something being pushed somewhere). And yes we are biased - which we explain to our kids. And we explain that everyone has a bias. Our kids are learning logic so when we are listen to the news we don’t just react and say we agree or disagree- we talk it through. Who is benefitting from This information? Who is funding this? We ask questions and check sources and we are teaching our kids to do the same. If our kids end up being atheist and feminist and what not - we will still love them and support them (maybe debate a little (; ). But we also don’t live in fear of the “big bad world”. Raise your kids yourself (don’t send them off at 6 weeks old to be raised by someone else with who knows what values), expose them to lots of ideas and talk about what they mean and why - and how it makes us feels and how feelings are not usually the best way to decide what is right and wrong.
