You say you are invisible to good men. Are there tons of available, single, good men that you come across regularly, who simply overlook you? Or maybe there are relatively fewer of such men, in the world in general, and you are simply not drawing the right conclusions, based on not finding what you want fast enough? Hard for us strangers to weigh in over the internet though.

Being pushy is probably his way to help prequalify women with no boundaries, and to quickly eliminate all other women. Then "grilling" about hypergamy makes him sound incredibly paranoid / anxious, as if he is terrified of being rejected. The deep dark secret about hypergamy is that it doesn't actually happen nearly as much when a woman feels a deeper connection with a man, one that goes beyond helping him "get off" or trying to pretend to be a happy couple for appearances' sake. Or at least tha…

You might want to cut off contact with your father, in the sense of not encouraging him to contact you. And then if you felt up to it, you could try to "forgive" him from a distance as someone who is probably somewhat "broken" himself, and who probably had a difficult childhood and difficult life, and simply is who he is. Then you could ask God or Life or Whatever you believe in to send you at least one quality female friend, and to open doors for you in terms of your future life. :) Sometimes p…

As a man, I have been told that it's very important for me to become legally married if I want to have legal rights over any children I may have, in case something goes wrong. So /u/chirp20/ might actually have some "leverage" here, if the advice I received was accurate. Or to put it in more friendly terms, and less adversarial terms, the OP's fiancé may have good reasons of his own to move forward with the marriage quickly. As far as fixing women's resentment goes... that's a whole other topic,…

If you trust him completely, then just dump your resentment on him - he will immediately see his role in creating the resentment, and will fix the situation. Maybe he will even be grateful, on some level, that you trust him enough to share your emotions with him. If your trust level is a bit lower, then you could treat it like any other social situation, for instance at work or whatever. Be vague but persistent, try to drop some hints, try to bring up the topic casually, tell a story about someo…

Very few people are perfect. Here's a question for you: does your bf try to grow and improve himself a bit each day, or each year? Does he pay attention to feedback and learn from it, when Life gives him lessons? A wise man once said that our task in life is to try to become as perfect as our "father in heaven" is perfect - this was in a religious context obviously. Of course, a lot of people strongly disagree with him on this point. Some people will just get angry instead of growing in new ways…

Great rant! Some men can be extremely emotional - you might find them at the doctor's office waiting for a sex change, lol. You know, if you watch a Jane Austen movie or two sometime, you might notice that the way dating and marriage was treated in the past is way different from how it's treated now. For instance, one movie, Persuasion, a charming, wealthy, successful man of about 30 is flirting a bit with a much younger woman, in the company of other people, for a few days. He is informed that the young woman thinks they are going to get married, and has told her whole family about it. He is really upset to learn th…

I've heard it said that women tend to develop unhealthy mindsets when they get divorced or dumped. In other words, the men help cause this situation to happen. Maybe you will get your power back someday, maybe many years from now, when you realize that this guy may have f****d you over somewhat, while gaslighting you into thinking it was all your fault. He wants me to move on, heal, find someone else. It sounds like he doesn't know very much about women. He sounds kind of flippant. Holding onto …

Thank you for sharing those interesting points you made. This topic is of interest to me personally, for reasons I won't go into here. Um, regarding how complex the modern legal system is, and (secondly) whether it seems fair to certain people who get marriage licenses... Well again, I appreciate your historical knowledge. Thank you for sharing. Very interesting. The goverment is not a "third party" I mean, who are the parties in a marriage license - the husband the wife and _____. Can the husband and wife create an official marriage license on their own without a certain third party or entity being involved? nor a "surrogate husband" This is intended as a metaphor. What divorced husbands sometimes say is that their wife had expected them to be a provider and a p…

Well, what you say here is legitimately interesting to me. However, I'm not sure about some of it. For example, if you and I enter into a small business agreement, sign a simple contract, and have a notary witness our signatures, is that the same thing as going to the government and applying for a license? Because with a license, people say that the government becomes one of the main parties to the legal relationship. Here's another question. If two people have a religious ceremony and pledge th…

Good question. I bet a lot of other people share your questions. Where are all the responses? apparently, that’s not possible within the Catholic Church. Does this mean that no Catholics got married for hundreds/thousands of years until the modern marriage license got invented? How and when (and why) did the Catholic church change its policy about this I wonder. Does the new policy mean that the Catholic church has invalidated previous, historical marriages as being improperly conducted? Does th…

In real life, guys who are always running away from commitment tend not to accomplish very much and not be all that desirable as partners. At least the ones I've met. They tend to be kind of sneaky, anxious and have substance issues. Are these leadership traits? These fancy words like "alpha" I think can confuse people sometimes. In the animal world, they don't confuse themselves with a lot of jargon, they simply follow other animals who are good leaders, who can be relied on. Flaky animals, or …

People who are attractive often have beautiful smiles, and they have beautiful smiles because of what is inside them, shining out through their faces. Gym & makeup are not really the main factors that people seek out in friendships or spouses, etc. Do you have any hobbies that you love?

our age gap That does sound like a serious age gap. I remember hearing about another couple with an age gap. There was a famous musician years ago who performed at the White House for Teddy Roosevelt, then he performed many years later for JFK, again at the White House. When his wife died, he got remarried. He met this new woman when she was 16 and he was 76, and they tied the knot when she was 20 and he was 80! True story. His name was Pau Casals, one of the most famous classical musicians of t…

There are a lot of interesting and I think accurate points in this post. But I think this part here: Moreover, Nietzsche did not see love as a peaceful union, but as a battlefield is maybe taking things too far. People can be imperfect creatures with selfish motivations, but can still consciously choose not to make war on their spouse. Also... didn't Nietzsche suffer a mental breakdown and send weird letters to his friends, who then placed him in a psychiatric hospital? When a man goes insane, i…

Loads of people, both male and female, are confused today, about all kinds of issues. What I find helps me is: trying not to worry about other people and just focusing on my own life. You can't change other people; at best you can inspire them if you yourself are happy, calm and clear-headed.

Well number one, I don't want to get too political, and number two, I can't recall the exact video I saw. But I'll try to describe what I have in mind. I don't normally watch the news or listen to anyone in the news, on any side of politics. I don't know what country you're in, but it's possible that the job market in the U.S. & also the economic realities in the U.S. might change dramatically starting soon after January 20th, 2025. Your story reminds me of a movie I saw recently - The Muppets' Christmas Carol, with Michael Caine playing Scrooge - one of my favorite film adaptations. At the beginning of the story, Scrooge is certain that he knows everything, and he believes that people who celebrate Christmas are simpletons and fools, basically he believes they are brainwashed idiots who are wasting their time & energy. No I think this is completely untrue for a portion of the population. A man who earns enough to support a family doesn't necessarily want to marry a person who is just like himself. He might want more of a stay-at-home wife to mother his children. This actually used to be the "norm" or the "standard" that most people adhered to, if you go back more than 110 years ago, before WW I. The new model of two career-oriented people getting together is a new invention, relatively speaking. Then if you ar…

He has said that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. This raises the question: what does marriage mean to you? A legal contract? A lifelong commitment? A ring and a ceremony? The ability to take a man's resources via divorce? I'm under the impression that 120 years ago, marriage licenses did not exist (some say they were invented at the same time as income tax, around 1913). So in the past they just had a ceremony and a ring, and a relationship, but no marriage license. I'm also unde…

Over a hundred years ago, I think it was common for people to get married at a young age, the man would pay for everything, the woman would help raise children, and supposedly lots of couples were happy with this arrangement, and lived comfortably, partly for economic/political reasons I won't go into here. But in today's world, it's considered shocking and weird for anything remotely like this to happen to a lot of people. What women are told to think men are looking for is often very different…

Developing hobbies can be a good way to build confidence. Not like "stamp collecting" but learning how to do things, like learning how to cook food, how to garden, how to play music, how to give a massage, etc. When we learn how to do useful things, we tend naturally to feel more confident. P.S. A lot of what they teach in college is not all that useful, according to some people.

he feels unsafe about me Younger women, who have not been "let down" by lots of bad experiences with men, are a safer choice in my opinion than older women who have been hurt by life and by the world over and over again. He did say that I approach everything from a logical/scientific standpoint and that sometimes it feels cold and masculine. In my experience, this is almost always a sign that a woman does not trust a man. Once a woman begins to trust a man, she starts to let down her guard, letting her emotions be expressed a bit. I always make sure to tell him that I love him, I make nice dinners for him, I put effort into my appearance, and I’m careful of not being disrespectful. These all sound like carefully…

Well, traditionally a young man who was "courting" a young lady would need the young lady's father's permission to take things to the "next level". If your father approves of your bf, then maybe this condition has already been fulfilled. Maybe your bf has no business backing out now. The fact that your bf freaked out and wanted to abandon you over a relatively small matter (not sticks and stones, but just some words) is not ideal, but I guess hardly anyone is perfect, especially at age 20. This reminds me of a documentary I saw once, with stories of about 10 people who won the lottery, winning multiple millions of dollars each. Their lives changed overnight, all their financial problems and practical issues were gone. But within maybe 1-2 years, nine out of ten of them had spent all the money, many had declared bankruptcy, and many had developed very serious drug addictions or even worse. First of all, throw away most of what you learned about how to communicate from schools and teachers and universities, if I may say so. Maybe watch some Jane Austen movies. Watch women who communicate in an indirect way - they might drop hints, they might start to say something and then pause. Think of it like planting a seed, and then watering the seed. This creates an organic creation. Women intuitively know how to nurture something over time - or at least they should know this. Like if you wa…

What's his psychology? Some men pride themselves on pleasing a woman in bed. If you drop hints that you're not into XYZ, maybe that's all that's necessary, for the sake of his own pride? Some forms of sexuality are really prized by um, men who are not into women. Here again, you could drop some hints that help your bf to understand your dislike for certain behaviors, and maybe help him want to distance himself from those behaviors, possibly

In my life, I've never been able to achieve a 100% worry free existence 24/7. So for me it's more a day-by-day process of remembering to make good choices, like choosing to see the people around me in a positive light, choosing to be optimistic, etc. Even if I do a great job on one day, the next day I still have to continue the process. I can't seem to just "coast" or go on autopilot from that point on. If that makes any sense.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to change and grow in new ways, based on the feedback we receive from Life. I know someone who started eating more fiber and started exercising more regularly, and they are now happier, less depressed, more active and less constipated (so to speak), and therefore more outgoing. The people around them benefit, sure, but the person who benefits the most is the person who made the changes.

In the animal world, for instance with farm animals, the male acts as both a provider and a protector. The female nurtures the babies. For example, if a rooster finds some special food, rather than eating it himself, he will call to one of his hens, for her to eat it instead of him. People today are simply lost in dysfunctional, superstitious belief systems that have nothing to do with observable reality.

Flattery can definitely be manipulative, if it's overdone, especially with someone you don't know well. On the other hand, while getting to know someone in the very beginning, when they tell you who they are, I don't think you should ignore it, unless you want to have a real "adventure" / learning experience...

A lot of the feedback you will get on reddit will be the exact opposite of the truth. The more rude people are, the less likely what they say is to be valid, in my experience. If you are neglecting your wife and as a result she's losing interest in you at times... there's nothing stopping you from experimenting with other approaches a bit. Women are not like a machine, where pushing certain buttons the same way always gives the same result.

Would you be okay with him having side-chicks, if other aspects of the relationship are good? Have you ever witnessed him manipulating or lying to a third party, or making fun of a third party behind their back? Does he seem like someone who craves constant excitement and can't abide boredom? For some women, a man who has slept around a lot may or may not be an issue, but a man who runs away when a challenge (or just boredom) comes along, or who manipulates / lies easily... that sort of man make…

Realizing that we are not actually in control can be a form of vulnerability, or feminine awareness, for both men and women... But through faith or meditation or things like that, this awareness can make us better people, make us grateful and appreciative for each day, rather than making us crazy and destructive. I think nobody encounters tremendous failure & rejection and loss and danger in life and just coasts through it easy, without some kind of faith or meditation or something like that to …

Some people might voluntarily choose a situation like your friend describes. In some cultures, more than one woman might be willing to share a great man, rather than have a lazy, scummy man all to herself. Is your friend talking about forcing his ideas onto women, through a kind of brainwashing? Men who try to enslave or manipulate women might be sowing seeds of future disaster. Why argue with your friend when you can simply find a new one?

In some cultures in the past, there was no such thing as "apologizing". Instead, in those cultures, if someone did something wrong, he had to do whatever was necessary to make the harmed person "whole" once again. If something was stolen, the stolen good would have to be replaced, with interest. If trust was broken, some sort of lengthy process would have to be gone through to try to regain the trust once again. Just because the word "apologize" exists in the English language, doesn't mean that …

I don't understand how feeling ghosted multiple times has anything to do with love-bombing. To me, love-bombing is about flattery, trying to dominate the other person with "love", not allowing any space in the relationship. I guess the committing to you so fast IS a type of love-bombing, now that I think of it. If I were you, my biggest concern, or question, would be if I was compatible to be with a foreigner, someone from a foreign culture, and someone from a foreign country. Is the expectation…

There's a wonderful scene in the movie "Tolkien", where the main character, a man, is taking his girlfriend out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, but he is kind of ignoring her and getting lost in talking about his career interests and his personal hobbies. It's all very abstract and dry. Almost kind of pointless / bizarre, even. She smiles and reaches out and touches his hand with her hand - a physical gesture. As I recall, she kind of playfully communicates to him that she has relatively little…

I've heard it said that when two people deeply connect with each other on emotional, mental, and possibly spiritual levels, the sex is more likely to fully and completely satisfy both of them for a period of days. A STEM education is not necessarily one that will bring out wonderful, feminine, charming qualities in a woman. A STEM education is one that tends to value the ideas in one's head over other people's needs. It tends to make people arrogant, self-centered, fixated in the conceptual mind, critical of other people, argumentative, and so forth. Okay I just googled Mr. Casals. He married his first wife in 1914. They divorced in the 1950s. In 1955 he married his second wife, but she died the same year. Then two years later, he married his third and final wife, Marta Casals Istomin, who was 60 years his junior. She remarried later, to a man who was only 10 years older, but I don't think they had any children. Probably too late at that point, since her first husband lasted a long time! They met when he was 76 and she was 16, and they married four years later. Traditionally women do not have sex with a man until he commits to her for life in a public setting, and before God. Of course, this means they both do a bit of due diligence beforehand. Don't want to get hitched to the wrong person! And yes this sort of thing still goes on today, for example in some Christian communities I know of. To answer your question, I think the best way to know what someone's intentions are is by looking at their actions rather than their words.

Some people believe that every act of sexual intercourse creates a "soul-tie", whereby two people "become one flesh". If this is true, if this actually happens, then people who do not believe it is true are simply ignorant about what is going on in themselves during and after sex. It sounds like he does not know how to treat a woman (at least in this moment) and wants you to act like a man--men instinctively back off when another man is tired or busy or in a bad mood, etc. This same dynamic could come up more in the future... Not sure how to put this, but one trait that is highly valued by both men and women in relationship is "gentleness", or not trying desperately to control people and situations all the time. Lying and inability to take responsibility in a man's life could be due to lack of inspiring male role models in his life. As men (speaking for myself) we don't necessarily learn about how to be men from our mom. There are ways of doing makeup and clothes (and posture) that convey a more formal, don't-bother-me vibe. That might help. I googled FSSP but reading a wikipedia page is not the same as reading a comment from a real human being about what the experience is like. I did see a FSSP church near where I live, so planning to check that out.

Interesting. I guess I'm just getting to meet Christians for the first time now, so I'm just learning about these things. I saw a few episodes of "Duck Dynasty" on TV, and I guess they've gotten a lot of negative attention for their conservative views. It is mind boggling to me how anyone who likes the bible can favor left-wing type of political views. I also don't quite understand the pope thing. I understand wanting to have beautiful cathedrals and some organizational infrastructure, and even …

One of the major themes in this thread is people saying that following Jesus is "beta" because wimpy, "beta" men attend a lot of churches. I guess I was replying to that idea, but I accidentally posted it as a reply to you, hence the confusion. I'm looking for a church or denomination to explore right now, after being raised atheist, and personally I'm not drawn to super-liberal, wimpy men, I guess. So while such people amaze me, it's not my place to interfere with them. I just would prefer to l…

Last time I checked, getting nailed to a cross without whining about it takes a lot of balls. I bet the samurai in Japan would have appreciated that--as a way to die honorably under some conditions they would slice open their belly, let their guts flow out onto the ground, and if they did not cry out in pain, then they'd be given a speedy death by another chap. Wimpy men who claim to be guided by Jesus... wtf. lol. I guess it's not any more illogical than all the other crap the media promotes th…

Thanks for the info. I went to a mass this past weekend for the first time in decades, having been brought up as an atheist. I was shocked when the priest interrupted the ceremony to ask us to pray for his liberal political agendas. I guess that was called a "sermon". This was a Catholic church. I enjoyed many aspects of the mass, but not all of them. Guess I need to explore some more...

One of the old testament prophets, Solomon, did okay for himself with the ladies. I think he had something like 600 wives plus 300 mistresses. As someone who is fairly new to bible study, I'm amused at how many different interpretations of the book there are. People who feel that it calls them to a super-liberal, almost atheist mindset amaze me.

Hey thank you for your kind feedback. Well my beliefs are pretty compatible with the bible, which, by the way, I see as a complex and paradoxical document that people seem to interpret in lots of different ways. What I'm not sure about is if my beliefs are compatible with most modern churches. What I'm learning is that a lot of modern churches sort of ignore what's in the bible so they can promote fashionable and trendy political agendas. That is something that might not work for me. It's not th…

You can listen and be compassionate. But you don't have to encourage endless dwelling on problems. After a while you can say "hey that's too bad; well, I need to go handle something now." I think a "tampon" is someone who is a pushover, and who is very emotional himself. Rather than someone who is like a "rock", sturdy, strong, erect. Sometimes guys on reddit are like tampons - they get super emotional, and use a lot of strong, shocking language. If someone says something they disagree with, the…

I can see how his faith, or at least his work ethic, helped him be successful in life. But all my Christian relatives live far away, so I haven't had much contact with them. And to be honest I kinda dig candles and incense and stuff like that. So Catholic is probably one of the main denominations I would consider. I've done some study of the bible and certain saints…

Try to be open to finding supportive friends? I think part of growing up and becoming an adult is realizing that a lot of people aren't our friend. I get this with men sometimes--as a man I have to be careful what I say around other men, and poke fun at myself regularly so I don't accidentally provoke jealousy over some little thing. Alita is definitely a movie about a woman who is more powerful than the men around her. And who sort of provides a leadership role for men. So in that sense it's a kind of gender role-reversal, some might say. But in other ways her character was surprisingly innocent and kind and sweet and trusting and subservient. Sometimes a marriage or relationship can encourage people to change in that way, over time, in terms of learning how to respect other people more. Women can get away with wearing more colorful clothing than men, in some settings / cities. Good news! If he's your sister's fiance's brother, then you have a big advantage over lots of women in today's "dating world". By that I mean, if he mistreats you, it could come back to him for the rest of his life. A lot of the horror stories in modern dating happen when people feel there is no consequence for bad behavior. Trying to change someone's mind about something can be interpreted as aggressive by the other person, after a while, even if it's done with good intentions. Why not make a list of your criteria for a bf / husband? Especially the mental / emotional traits can be good to identify, for some of us, since it can be easy to be overwhelmed by purely physical attraction at times. By mental traits I mean like interests and value and such things. These are the things that tend to make or break relationships once the initial excitement wears off. You can edit or refine your list of criteria over time, as you get more understanding about your own values and nee…

As a man, I don't want a woman to be submissive if that means being masochistic or letting people walk over her. Or letting me walk over her. I'm just saying in general, not saying you were doing that. By "submissive" I think what is really meant is that men like women who are generous and kind and joyful--as opposed to women who crave constant arguments or try to oppose everything a man does. But to be kind and joyful, a woman has to be fully alive, and she has to be treated well. Or at least t…

Well, you say you are very compatible, but it sounds like he not only is not very "in touch" with your body and how your body responds to him, but he also literally does not listen to you during sex... It can be hard to be objective about sex and new relationships, but I would say not all the signs are positive, at this point. As others have said, if he makes a joke when you tell him he hurt you physically, that could be a red flag, to say the least. I don't know how experienced you are with sex…

now that the floodgate is open denying him would be akin to rejection Just for future reference, there's nothing wrong with rejecting sex, is there? You make it sound kind of immense evil to not be in the mood for sex and to decline it once in a while. Almost as if sex is supposed to be some unpleasant "duty" for women to endure. Anyway the fact that you said you didn't want sex, he did it anyway, and you were damaged and bleeding afterwards - it sounds slightly creepy to me, to be honest. There…

Hey. Apparently "plate spinning" is when certain guys don't want to settle down with one woman, but because those same guys are good looking and have a nice apartment, they are able to date multiple women at once. It could be from a "fear of commitment". Or it could be from a knowlege of how challenging relationships can be. In a lot of traditional societies, the whole community would help people to get through difficult times in a marriage, but modern society isn't really like that. So some guy…

Was he regretful in the "telling you what you want to hear" sense? Or was he regretful in the sense of seeming to feel genuine remorse? Often when someone's moral compass is mixed up, they will say things that sound fantastic--about how much they want to change, blah blah--but then their behavior does not match their words. They just get very good at putting on an act. Real healing might require your bf to get in touch with rage toward his cousin and mother, and then forgiveness. Sometimes peopl…

I think women need minimal extra irritation when they are on their period, for the benefit of everyone. A few weeks ago I almost was in a major collision on the freeway while doing about 70. A car swerved into my lane with no warning. It was like time slowed down. It was almost eerie. I immediately swerved into the next lane without looking, which fortunately was just barely vacant. Somehow, my car did not touch any other cars, and there was no collisions. If I was on a bike, I'd probably be dea…

I think all human beings come with their limitations, and we can choose to love them anyway, or not. The details in many cases are a distraction. It's hard to give feedback without tiptoeing into questions about politics and religion and so on. Sometimes women find different types of men when they look in different demographics / places. Likewise, in certain parts of the country, she will tend to find different types of men, compared to other parts of the country. In other words, we tend to keep meeting the sa…

As Alexis de Toqueville pointed out, there is a tendency for Americans to want to pretend that everyone is equal, that everyone has equal talents and abilities. And people also like to pretend that everyone has equal wealth and equal situations. The problem with this mindset is people find it hard to respect and appreciate people who are better than them. And also find it hard to feel compassion for people less well off. And of course people have a hard time actually serving other people, with r…

Nowadays, everybody's gotta go to shrinks, and counselors, and go on "Sally Jessy Raphael" and talk about their problems. What happened to Gary Cooper? The strong, silent type. That was an American. He wasn't in touch with his feelings. He just did what he had to do. See, what they didn't know was once they got Gary Cooper in touch with his feelings that …

Some people see Trump as a kind man who wants what is best for his country. His wife leads people in the Lord's Prayer every week. One of Dale Carnegie's principles, if I recall correctly, is to "throw down a challenge" - to challenge people to do better. Even people who hate Trump might admit that he likes to challenge other people. P.S. How do you like Joffrey? He had the strongest "frame" of anyone in the show, if by frame we mean just saying whatever was on his mind and acting however he wan…

Tywin got shot on the shitter, because he made lots of enemies and it finally caught up with him. He also inherited a lot of power, or opportunities, that he didn't work for. Maybe there's a way to treat people with kindness without losing your own integrity. Something to explore, maybe.

I don't know if I'm qualified to comment on this particularly, and I think it's a personal matter. But I do think it kind of depends on what you believe in. If you believe that human beings are just sort of robots made out of carbon, lol, or whatever, then perhaps it doesn't really matter what we do. People are sort of expendable, and so forth, perhaps, from that point of view. But if you believe in such a thing as a soul, then maybe that changes the way we treat other human beings? Maybe we hav…

The idea of someone using a robot for such purposes is... I don't have the words for it. I mean, how would such a person treat other people on the road, or in business? Call me old fashioned but I think sexual love is supposed to teach us about kindness and tenderness and so forth. If someone wants to have sex with a robot, it seems like they're not too many steps removed from volunteering to get plugged in to one of them virtual reality systems like "Neo" found himself in in the beginning of th…

Yes, well, quite so, though I wasn't going to be the one to say it, lol. I will say that it's amusing how Tolkien treats with marriage and love affairs in such a hands-off, kind of abstract way in his books. Kind of removed and dreamlike. Distant. Perhaps a sign of the times, back then. And yet his advice to his son is totally concrete and down to earth, kind of like "son, here's the rough and rugged reality of these things." lol. I saw someone critiquing Tolkien recently for having so few female characters in his hobbit books, as compared to George RR Martin's GoT series. However, GRRM's female characters all seem to be psycho. Or conniving. Except maybe Brienne, who is playing what is traditionally a male role. But I don't recall too many strong mother figures or strong wives in his stories. Maybe Gilly. There's a mother spoiling her son at the Eyrie, there's the thing Mrs. Stannis does to her daughter. The reason why I want to tell her Sometimes we have to let people make their own choices, even if we feel quite certain they are making a mistake. Otherwise, we're not only interfering in someone else's life, and keeping them from learning from their own choices, but we might also incur their wrath if we give our opinion where it's not asked for. :)

It depends. People are very different. A man with a deceitful, criminal mindset might be turned off by a sweet, honest, self-respecting woman. How can he play games with her? How can he manipulate her? How can he hope to feel soothing approval for his destructive lifestyle choices? It really depends on what type of man a woman wants to be with.

I think that gentleness is an attractive feminine trait. To express vulnerability with someone - that's not something I expect women to do with strangers, or with casual acquaintances. "Innocent girls" are the ones who were not damaged by weak men, or weak parents. Do you even really deserve an innocent girl? You can't control other people, you can't necessarily control who you meet in life, but you can control your own choices. If we tell our insecurities to a woman when we first meet her, it's a bit like announcing that we want her to be our mommy. Or our therapist. Which is fine, but not all women are into that. Usually what a woman likes is when a man is a little bit firm, a little bit erect. There's no tricks or gimmicks to achieving this though. You have to value something in your life more than you value the approval of a woman. Then the woman is more likely to respect you.

They say familiarity breeds contempt. So if you spend too much time with your wife, she might start to take you for granted, and not enjoy your company as much. This has nothing to do with misogyny, or trying to punish anyone. Or with seeing other women. As you formulate your plans for world domination, you could decide if you want to be a) a strong woman, or b) an angry, vengeful woman These two goals might take a woman in very different directions. Feeling angry can be good as a motivator, but some people become almost addicted to anger. Really depends on what your goals are. You could find female role models that you look up to and want to be like. As you pick your role models, and define you goals, you determine your destiny.

Well something like that might be ideal, but I don't know if that's your wife's thing. These days, with smart phones and social media, a vacation isn't the same thing as it was 20 years ago, so just going on a trip might not solve very much. Once people get addicted to hatred and us-versus-them thinking, so…

If you're not looking forward to a divorce and reduced visiting rights, etc., you might try to find out if your wife has friends who fuel her hatred every time she sees them, and try to get her involved with happier people / influences, or something.

Has she been abused by a man before? Lots of women seem to be "triggered" by Trump because he's not bent over, with his hat in his hand, apologizing for himself constantly. I honestly didn't follow the election very closely, and I don't know very much about Trump, but it seems like a lot of people project an enormous amount of their own personal issues onto him, and then get together with others of like mind and feed on each others' hatred. Whole thing is kind of... amazing... or something.
/r/askMRP23/01/17 05:12 PM

If this is a real post, I doubt the election is the only issue. Your wife has no trust in you... now, you say. How much trust or respect did she have for you before the election? How did she lose it all so fast? What happened the last 10 elections? If you've been married for 20 years as you say? Is this the first time she tried to control your decisions, about voting, or anything else?

What works for some people is they just experience so much pain, loss and failure from their behavior pattern, that finally they decide to change it. And they realize no one else can do it for them. Good luck!

I don't know if it's a coincidence, but when I was a liberal, I did not respect myself, nor did I respect other people. I think this carries over to one's appearance. After a while, cultivating a mindset that... is not charitable toward others, let us say... takes a real toll on how we look and feel, I believe.

isn't not replying being passive aggressive It's one thing to say "hey baby let's talk about it tonight" or just not replying immediately... it's another thing to say "Are you upset with me? Are you okay? Do you still love me?" lol. or whatever, which communicates a problematic attitude. It tells her that you're unstable.
/r/askMRP06/01/17 06:27 PM
4

Hmm. I would disagree on some of that. Boring! Don't argue with your wife. Don't be a people pleaser. Just do what's appropriate, and have a good attitude about it. Talk less. There is very little affectionate touch, etc. You're not entitled to anything. Entitled people are passive & resentful, and they make other people uncomfortable. If you were attractive to her, she would be more into you. It's as simple as that. You can't change her, you can only change you.

So is she holding the camera up with her hand? Or is she posing for a photographer and smiling meaningfully into the camera? If she took them herself, and told you about her intention to do that, then I don't see how this is some kind of huge problem. You might have other problem in your relationship, but these aren't them.

Delaying marriage might be useful for some men. Not all men know wtf we are doing when we're young. :P Dating many people does not necessarily lead to marital bliss, in the examples I've seen. In fact, particularly for women, it might lead to just more and more disappointment and even confusion. I would guess that sharing similar values - for that matter just having values to begin with, other than trying to appear "politically correct" to please others - this sharing of values this probably has…

But on the other hand... you're already living together. Some jurisdictions consider that to be similar to a common law marriage, or at least I heard that once (I'm totally not a lawyer though). Is that a fair analogy, though? One theory is that women can be more damaged by unfulfilling relationships than men are. When a woman totally gives herself over to a man in intimate embrace, allows herself to be "penetrated" by that man, to then be ghosted by that man, or dumped by him, without warning, can be devastating. At least for some women. Would she really open up quite so easily ever again? The qualities I find attractive about women are the very same qualities that make women more vuln…

For me, asking about the number would be rude, and also silly, because you're just putting someone on the spot and encouraging them to lie. Anyway, who cares what the number is. The point is that it tends to significantly change a woman's personality, the more unfulfilling relationships or ONS's she's had in the past. By the time there's a number, there's no point worrying what it is. The point is just to judge people's personalities by obvious signs. And then make the best of the current situat…

This has made me leery of "platonic" friendships between men and women. Men and women aren't really designed to be "friends". This is some weird thing the younger generations have invented. No one should be praised for his goodness if he has not strength enough to be wicked. Awesome quote sir. Reminds me of my old martial arts teacher. He said, hey guys, what we do here is just for fun and self-development. If you want protection, get a gun. haha. No sense fooling ourselves. People are afraid of power, because we're taught to think that weakness = goodness, however a person might define that.

I've heard that the average cigarette has so many thousands of chemical additives put into it. Literally. Some probably help keep the cigarette lit, for convenience's sake. Some might aid the manufacturer's goals, but not help the consumer's goals. You follow me? So you could suggest your gf switching to another brand, with fewer additives. I used to smoke such a brand, on…

Ah, right. Well, maybe if you go about it objectively without any thoughts of revenge (as might motivate some people), maybe there'll be less chance of those things happening. Also maybe skim "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu while you're in your lawyer's waiting room. If you announce to your opponent that you're going into battle, and that your strategy will be xyz, and your position will be abc, you might end up getting outmaneuvered. Me: (snickers) This sounds a little bit, maybe 5%, like power games to me, depending on what vibe you were projecting. I'm Russian I heard a story once about a guy trying to close a business deal with some Russians. Mothers of infants need to be given extra tolerance from their husbands, according to some people. It's a temporary period in which the mother needs extra reassurance in order to do her mothering thing properly. If you believe that as well, you could cut her a little extra slack for a few more months, in terms of being more communicative, more tolerant of her moodiness, and so on. Natural selection does not go that far. It can only alter things within certain limited bounds. Natural selection was something that lots of people knew about and believed in, …

Wow, this is so different from the MRP subs, haha. Which I also like in other ways. There's a lot of other angles I could mention, but I don't want to go too far off topic here. Just suffice it to say I really don't believe in evolution any more. Which is funny because I read the Selfish Gene when I was fresh out of high school decades ago and thought it was great! haha.

Actually I was terrified to question my own belief in evolution. haha. Because I was so identified with it. And no, it wasn't linked with conversion to some religious belief system. I replied to another comment elsewhere in this thread, with some reasons why the theory of evolution could be questioned. The main problem I had was the inflammatory nature of the way people like Dawkins seems to communicate. Maybe this is more an issue for men though than women. Men tend to flip out if our ideas get…

Wow, ok. Well, if it's okay with the moderators, I'll try to respond. First, keep in mind that I don't have an alternative explanation for how we got here. haha. Except that I personally believe in some kind of higher power. So my non-evolution philosophy requires a kind of "trust" or "surrender" from me, which belief in evolution doesn't seem to demand in the same way. Which is interesting. As far as evidence for or against evolution, there's a lot of angles that it could be looked at. Starting…

I'm curious what this has to do with being a wife or a husband? Sam Harris was good friends with a good friend of mine who died last year - Sam was at his memorial - but I find the philosophy that some of these atheist people promote to be very inflammatory. Comments in this thread are using terms like "polemic" and "anger" - I absolutely agree. Bringing up these people and their writings is a good way to stir up anger and conflict, seems like? Faith ahead of fears. :) I think when you're ready, including ready on the inside, something good is likely to happen. Even just trusting that this is the case, I think could be good preparation for what may follow. Otherwise, everything else you say makes it sound like you're on the right track.

Wow, great story - up to the part about your dad. I'm in the U.S., but I guess in most parts of the world, even perhaps in the U.S. up until the last hundred years, people simply were forced to deal with their parents, even after becoming adults. It was just part of life. If a person's parents were awful, they simply had to deal with it, to find ways to work with it, in spite of it being painful or upsetting. Today in the U.S., people believe it's so amazingly fantastic that they don't have to d…

Glad if I was helpful. Hand and scalp massages — sounds good to me! I used to have a book by a guy who only did scalp massages. Well, head and neck. That was his whole specialty. There's something very profound about it. Another guy I know used to say the head and neck are the most important parts of the body that needs massage, in his opinion. And the hand supposedly is a meeting place for many acupuncture meridians. As are the feet. I also heard someone say once that, on a psychological level,…

I've tried asking what I can do to help him feel more supported, but I never got consistent answers This seems like a good step on your part. Maybe continue to ask this periodically. Well, if your husband constantly seems stressed out, perhaps you could offer to give him a shoulder rub, or something of that nature. It doesn't have to be sexual. Some form of "touch" that communicates intimacy and support and also helps him let go of stress. In some cultures, I've heard that family members massage…

I think a woman feels beautiful, on every level, when she feels loved and desired (i.e. fucked good) by a man she loves and respects. Self-consciously trying to compliment a woman's looks, in order to please her, if it doesn't feel natural & right to you in the moment... I dunno bout that. Maybe the answer is "agree and amplify". Make a joke about it next time it comes up. The key is to make her feel loved by your actions, not by verbal proclamations or speeches or whatever, which I think mean r…

Some people believe that sexual compatibility between two people is similar to emotional compatibility. In other words, if two people are "in sync" emotionally, and if there is trust, then the woman's body opens up and accomodates the man, no matter what "size" he is. In other words, sexual compatibility can be predicted, these people believe, to some extent, beforehand. This was probably the rationale in cultures where sex came after marriage. Here's a different way to look at it... I once hear…

In a healthy relationship, I believe the man honors the woman's feelings, and the woman respects the man's thinking. Among other things. This is more likely to happen if the woman inherently appreciates the man's values, and has some trust in his decision-making and follow-through ability. And if the woman has a little bit of emotional maturity. Or a "good heart" as they used to say.

I'd rather not spend an inordinate amount of time trying to decipher why a man is behaving a certain way and act accordingly, and just hear what is issues are and correct the situation. I would stay away from manipulative men, whether in real life or online. Good men are easy to decipher. If a man doesn't engage in long winded conversations with his wife - or with anyone else - it could be that he doesn't find that that's the best way to communicate. Or it could be that he doesn't feel he's earn…

Do I not even convey my disappointment in her, and just let dread levels do that indirectly? "Dread" isn't about punishing someone, as I understand it. You just deal with whatever happens without taking it personally or trying to punish anyone.

Interesting article. Personally I don't believe "hypergamy" serves anyone's interests, any more than taking one's first hit of cocaine does. Whoa - I'm confused. Is the question about "legal marriage" or just about committed LTR's? A "legal marriage" is a three-way contract between two people and a huge bureaucracy that would like to enforce its opinions onto the two people - who are likely having a hard enough time as it is just relating to another human being day to day, haha. For a guy to tell a woman in advance that he's expecting a kiss, that would sound a bit odd to me. I think these things work best when people are sensitive to their own feelings as well as sensitive to the other person's behavior and signs and so on. The problem with these articles is they often paraphrase concepts they have heard elsewhere, without actually understanding what they are talking about. Another amazingly strong woman is the young wife in part 3 of the Apu Trilogy by Satyajit Ray. Living in a traditional society in India, she is deferential to her husband, but she's also incredibly courageous in a feminine way. She ends up leading her husband, in a sense, just through her example - rather than through complaining or telling him what to do or whatever. A woman with a 6 month old infant might have a different sex drive than a woman with no children. When you have children, you can keep your frame for most things, but the woman's sexual apparatus might still be in rest phase for a few months after giving birth. Don't take it personally. If you're looking for your sex life to be on fire, you might take a break from having more children for a bit. Otherwise... some great responses here.

Whoa, you might want to be careful about satanic advice - unless you're sure that's what you want. Referring to the Anton LaVey thing another commenter mentioned. Part of the key to feminine & classy behavior, in my opinion, is learning to be gentle and non-aggressive. Modern society (tv, movies, etc.) teaches men that it's normal and even healthy to have a wandering attention. A woman who relies on being seen somewhat naked by other men, in order to feel good about herself, is kind of a red flag. Because that suggests a coping mechanism - getting attention from men you are not together with - which will tend to continue into the future as a way to feel good, any time a small difficulty comes up in the marriage. How's the sex? Is the drinking a symptom of a larger issue? Does she eat well? The advantage of the old-fashioned way people did things, where they were married for life in some places, is that if a problem arose, the spouse and other relatives assumed it was their problem as well. In our culture, (edited to shorten sentence) the moment something difficult happens, people think the answer is to run away from it. To me, that's not necessarily "abundance". Ask a couple witnesses to write out concisely and accurately what they saw happened that helps prove it wasn't what you're being accused of. Ask them to sign the statements in front of a notary. Maybe women are con artists because that's what they are taught by television, the internet, school experiences, other children and adults, and parents. And early boyfriends, in many cases. As I understand it, a big part of red pill theory is that women respond to men. Meaning, they tend to change their behavior based on whatever man they are with and how he treats them. So a big part of why women are the way they are is the environment they're raised in. If you meet a woman who was brought up b…

No it's not necessary to try to change the woman. The woman automatically and almost immediately reflects your own mentality, though it can take time and persistence for more significant changes to register in her. Trying to control or manipulate women is what "betas" do. If you simply provide good leadership, many women will respond to that happily, without coercion. Though it partly depends on her background. Yes, manipulators are easy to manipulate. That's why betas have so many problems. Manipulators inherently "give a fuck" and are invested in outcomes. I don't think of alphas as being manipulative. Are you on drugs? You might have a connection loose in your brain, between knowing what to do, and being able to follow through on it. Drugs can do that. Sex can do it too, if you let it. My advice is jump in with both feet with the humiliation. It's like sitting in a stew pot. Wait until you're thoroughly cooked. Really notice how crappy you feel when you do this thing with this woman. Once you've been well cooked, something inside you will suddenly say "no more". And your life will change.

In my own worldview, all betas are somewhat psychopathic and self-involved / narcissistic / blind. But they pretend to be "nice". They fool themselves but they don't fool women. Two thirds of "dark triad" is nuts, basically forms of mental illness, as far as I'm concerned. The other third is occasional…

No need to hate yourself. Some day you might look back and realize some positive things about where you came from. TV and movies and today's pop music... you haven't necessarily missed out on much if didn't get much of that stuff. Trying to be someone you're not - whether it's to please a cult, or to please a woman - can oftentimes be a matter of breaking your own frame. So learn to respect your own interests and values, whatever they are, and that will be attractive to women. This takes time, f…

"All this over the wine? This is dumb." Another approach would be letting her vent without criticizing her. "I'm like, OK, now we're arguing about RP... I was a little disappointed." That's 100% on you. You're blaming her for your own mistakes. Never argue with a woman. Just let her vent. That's mainly what she wants from you in those situations. Don't argue with your wife. Arguing feels natural, feels right, to a lot of us. But it's 100% beta. Betas feel threatened by everything so they lash ou…

Yeah I understand. I believe AWALT applies to: "women are more emotional than mental". Otherwise, I believe each woman is different depending on what her social environment is, now and in the past. Parents, tv shows, magazines, social media, previous boyfriends, these all create her belief system, morals, values, etc. Anyone can go on google right now and find a blog of a Christian rural housewife, and the last thing on her mind is branch swinging. She wants to win points with her social group a…

Amused mastery doesn't necessarily mean smiling when your home & children get taken away from you. Please don't misapply RP in a creepy way. Your wife is reflecting your own weaknesses back to you. She's also testing you. Don't back her into a corner and force her to divorce you unless that's really what you want. Yeah, cheaters gonna cheat. It's still a personal question for each person whether to do that or not. They say women depend on men for guidance, leadership, and their sense of morality. So what does it prove to take a woman who trusts you and manipulate her behavior into something you despise? TRP isn't moral or immoral, I don't think - it depends on each person's take on life. And what we think happens after. There is a whole sub for married red pill, btw. Though it might not appeal to everyone…

You don't have to change to please a woman. But in this case, if you used to be grumpy and stand-offish, that might be worth continuing to outgrow. As someone posted recently, if the man in a LTR is not out-going and willing to take risks socially, then often it means that the woman will feel obliged to do it, by being flirty and all this kind of stuff.

Make friends with bros, dudes, men. Guys with some sort of integrity and a sense of humor. Women can't actually give you the kind of validation that you crave. Believe it or not, this is absolutely true. Being with a woman should be like drinking a glass of refreshing water on a hot day. That's it! lol. There is a kind of support a man can get from other men - if he's lucky enough to meet guys who are not douches or white knights. In other words, bros with backbone and a sense of humor. Join a religion or a church. For better or worse, that's one place to find women who are both interested in some kind of monogamy, and more likely to be capable of it. It's a cultural thing. The woman has to have some kind of other influences in her life besides her man that help reinforce the kinds of values you are looking for. If you just try to force your values on a woman by yourself, it doesn't quite work - it's too hard, and it's not really natural, because you can't really do it verbally…

I think it's a decent question. In the old days, when two people got into a LTR, they'd ask their friends and family to support them, rather than trying to undermine them or whatever. And the priest might ask, if anyone knows of a reason why these two people should not be together, speak now, sort of thing. So I think it's a great question to get clear about... Not that I'd advocate trying to split people apart if you disagree with it.

Judging or criticizing people for their life choices usually doesn't work, I've found. Just have to let them go their own way, and see if you remain friends or not. Maybe you find new friends. Or, be able to tolerate having very few friends, at times, if necessary. P.S. Women don't tend to take verbal feedback / criticism very well. And nor, for that matter, do feminized men. Wheras real men can receive feedback and learn from it.

You can't judge a woman you are intimate with by your own standards or by the standards you judge men. You just have to be okay with her saying whatever she wants and not take it personally. Working out specific retorts is not going to work. The woman's job in a relationship, or one of them, is to force you to work with "feelings" and to learn to be calm and clear and happy. The way she forces you to do this is by occasionally provoking you to be otherwise, until you learn.

People who "want to be eloquent" often just add unnecessary complications and self-consciousness to what they have to say. The best writing, in my opinion, is simple. "just increase my SMV as much as possible as fast as possible" The first step is to stop being so desperate. Monk mode means you relax and learn what is important to you, aside from other people's validation. You can't control life, but you can learn to dance with it. Cheers.

Awesome... my sensei used to say a quick hand towards the face is often the best first move in a real situation. Not to hurt anyone but to get their attention. He used to give lessons to cops and bouncers on how to disarm someone without killing them. Great story man. (edited to add couple details)

Trying to control women's behavior, out of feeling threatened, is beta. She has to feel natural respect for you. "IDGAF" means you stop feeling threatened. (You can still feel angry, or hurt, but telling her about it makes it her responsibility to solve your emotions. She doesn't want that responsiblity - she resents it.) The minute you stop feeling threatened, you immediately will register a different response in her - even if things don't ultimately work out. You can't control her. You can't "…

Also, women don't take words as seriously as men do. If a woman says some words, and her husband flips out, to her this means he's weak. He's not someone she can count on. He's unstable. He's like a little fragile daisy bending in the wind. In her mind she ain't even done anything yet, so why's he flipping out and acting unattractive and judgmental? Just confirms that she should check out what other men are like. P.S. Um, what do you mean "combative"? Like psycho with knives combative? Always th…

I think maybe you are too worried about your SMV, or "externals" - external sources of validation for either you or the wife. This search never ends, there's always someone more successful who can come along, and the whole thing is founded on a sense of desperation. It's like building a mansion on top of quicksand. I used to be with a woman who was hotter than me and made more than me. What she really wanted was for me to act like a man around her, not for me to get X number of promotions or los…

Holy shit I didn't even know there was a marriedredpill sub. This is going to be my new favorite sub. Anyway, the other thing that helped me in the past was having time away, time with the bros, spending time with my woman because I wanted to. Being forced to be together all the time absolutely kills attraction. Think of it this way, if you're forced to be with your wife every evening, even when you don't feel like it, that's you submitting to what you don't want to do. It's not you; it's the re…

Yeah. Unlike many RP men, I don't think committing to a woman is inherently evil, in all situations. But not having one's own space to go to - that's death.

On some level she will tend to re-enact whatever happened with her dad. Like feeling victimized by him. She might even, down the road, start to imagine things about you that aren't even true, in order to re-enact old behaviors & conflicts. All women do this. All men do it too, imo, though probably not as much. If you are a good strong guy why not go for it. EDITED to clarify one sentence.

Women feel they have to be devious. Men shouldn't have to act that way. Don't shit test women - unless you're gently making fun of her complaints or some of her strange ideas. That's a test - to see if she can get over herself. It's not really a test though so much as a challenge. Good to challenge women. :)

Nothing wrong with paying attention to red or green flags 8 months in - in fact always good to pay attention to them! Wow, CC riding not as common in Brazil... I'll have to remember that. Maybe her grandpa provided the male structure for her. Sounds like you have a good situation. In the modern world there aren't any perfect situations or perfect upbringings. Make sure you get advice from married RP men before doing anything drastic. The real problem is moving in together. Women "think" it's wha…

I think there's another aspect to all this which is that truly profound sex requires that we care about the person. It's not just physical objects moving in and out. I mean shit, I can have sex with myself if that's all it is. Yeah, sure, I think great men are able to follow all the red pill advice, or 95% of it, but still love their wife, even possibly multiple women. Women feel that love, and it opens them up. It connects their vagina with their heart. Then that feeds the guy they are with. Bu…

I tend to agree with Bill Burr, who told Conan O'Brian it doesn't matter who gets elected... (because that person is always just a figurehead, since JFK's days at least).

"I want to fall for somebody" Yeah I agree with setzer. The male organ, when it's going about its business, is supposed to be erect. Firm. Not fallen. Or soft. Modern society teaches men to be soft. It's not the way the Japanese samurai raised their boys. You have to ask yourself if you've been fed a lie or not, in terms of how romance works.

I've noticed ethnic or immigrant families sometimes still have a respect for men. Even if they're poor. The problem is not women doing some work. The problem is the whole cultural deal of throwing out traditional values completely, and thereby making everyone unhappy and confused.

I'm gonna add one more thing here... A good role model in my opinion should make you a bit uncomfortable. They should have something you lack. They should remind you of your shortcomings, just by their presence. Often it's good if their personality or their area of focus is very different from your own. You learn more that way. So for me as a kid, an athlete like Larry Bird was good. Just incredible toughness. He also had swag, as we say. Also, if you have any interest in politics, of any kind, …

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for women to want to date men of the same ethnicity. Maybe the whole "melting pot" thing of interracial dating is related to the rise of feminism, fatherless families, etc.? Where there's no culture, no male leaders in the girl's family, etc.? Whereas I think cultures with strong male leadership often have their love relationships take place internally. Like I heard a black Christian guy once and he was saying that the bible says not to date people from…

Some people say that while men value truth over harmony, women value harmony over truth. Therefore, according to this logic, women tend to be easier to manipulate by shady politicians.

I've met women who were brought up in a religious community. They actually seemed better off than most women. For instance they were taught about how men and women have different strengths, which can be appreciated. They seemed more feminine than the average woman. They had self-respect and knew how to cook and contribute their energy to something. They were also taught how to choose a good man and how to open up to him completely during sex. These were all qualities that were instilled in them …

Okay I thought of another role model I had - Larry Bird, when I was a kid. (Look him up on youtube if you never heard of him.) Here was this white guy on national television in my country, competing with black dudes on the basketball court! Dude. I noticed he had toughness, perseverance, but also grace and incredible touch. I could relate to him cause he was a white guy like me. He wasn't even that good of an athlete - he didn't have natural athleticism. But he made up for it in other ways. By t…

General George Patton Jr. is another guy I respect. The movie about him is quite good, though a general (I think a total beta) who hated his guts was the "official advisor" to the script and bent the facts here and there to make him look bad, from what I'm told. (Patton actually called that general a total coward in his private diaries... which were then published after his death... then when a movie gets made about Patton years later, this retard gets himself appointed as "official advisor to t…

JFK is in a movie called Thirteen Days you might like. Dude male role models are essential. Key. Super valuable. That's why children of single mothers often get into trouble - they don't know what it means to be a man. No male role models. Bill Burr is a comedian I sometimes like and he's good with TRP themes. But I'd say it's good to find role models who aren't comedians. Surely in 26 years you've met or heard of some men you respected?

What do I mean think about other people? Well you just seem a little fixated on your own feelings. Which is normal enough. But sometimes part of the cure for that, besides lifting and having a focus in life, is to occasionally have compassion for other people around you. This isn't exactly 100% red pill philosophy, but men who are considered good leaders tend to not fixate on their own emotions, but tend to act in ways that benefit society, or benefit the people around them. I don't know, who ar…

Slow down. Think about other people, not just yourself. That my help with your obsessive concerns. Maybe check out philosophy - Stoicism, Jesus, Buddha, whatever turns you on. Basically find male role models, strong men who have already succeeded where you are struggling. Lift.

um... nobody seems to be getting the "housemate" part. if you're already living with someone, and you bang them, that has all the potential awkwardness of moving in with a LTR too soon - you can't just walk away, you use the same kitchen daily, inconvenient to move out, etc. Sit down & think through the ramifications

Sometimes our emotions - especially in a traumatic situation or a new environment - are a bit like a woman's emotions. Just acknowledge them, then ignore them, if you're doing everything else right, which it sounds like you are. You could also try finding a new hobby, new passion, meditation, etc.

Basically she takes you for granted - as everyone else says here - but I think there's a wide range of possible solutions. She needs to work for your love more. She needs to see you as a separate person, rather than thinking the two of you are joined at the hip. Like you could start by doing errands without her sometimes. lol. Make her look forward to seeing you. Tell her sorry it's boys night out tonight. Tell her which women you think are hot. Mix it up somehow. Man has to lead.

An alternative to dread is just spend less time with her; spend time with your bros, etc. In the old days I'm told that a husband & wife often slept in different bedrooms. Being together constantly tends to take away the mystery, makes us take people for granted, and it's like depolarizing two magnets that should be super turned on by each other. And like others said, take her to an event where other women get dolled up and encourage her (or tell her) beforehand to do likewise. It can be fun. Th…
