Pretty much what these guys said. Realize that you might have to crawl through 50 yards of sewer pipe, but it's not an infinite sewer pipe. There is an end to it, and on the other end is sweet, sweet freedom. Work out every day, and take Vitamin D. Realize that today is going to suck, but it's probably not going to be any worse than some of the days you've been through. In fact, it might suck a little less, if you're lucky. Realize that nobody is going to come to your rescue, and that you're in …

No sugar, no grains (NSNG) at a minimum. I'm a carnivore, and have been for 3 years. I got intrigued by a video that showed a guy doing 100 push-ups a day, so I started doing that. Not like I could do 100 push-ups in a row, of course. I could do like 6. So do 6, then rest 10 minutes, then do another 6, and so on. Within 2 weeks you'll be able to grind out sets of 25. 2 sets in the morning, and 2 sets in the evening, and you'll be doing 100 per day. I then added 50 sit-ups in the morning and 50 a…

Imagine living with your mom, but it's your job to make sure she's entertained, emotionally and financially supported, and you have to listen to all of her dumb stories and plan things for the two of you to do together. Anytime she wants to go shopping, she'll want to drag you along as well. And you're completely dependent on her for sex. And at some point she'll just get bored with you and kick you out of the house while keeping half your money and stuff.

No debt, cheap reliable paid-for car. When my child support is over in May, I'll be investing over 50% of my income. I want to get my dividend stocks/ETFs large enough so I can live off the income and never touch the principal. Pay all bills with CC and invest the reward points. I'm 52. Most of my money is in my 401(k). But I keep my Roth IRA for fun stuff. When the markets crashed last March, I put a bunch into silver and gold mining stocks. Cashed that out after 3-4 months and put it into bank stocks and oil. My 5 shares of GME are in my taxable account, because I felt like, well, I'd lose it all, wouldn't I? So why not get a writeoff? 5 GME @ 87 to me was just like a lottery ticket. I mean, I've bet that on one hand of blackjack. And sure enough, I've lost money on i…

Quit smoking. My god, what a huge waste of money and health. Switch to vaping, or nothing if you can. I smoked for 30 years and threw away a vast fortune. Drop the weight through carnivore or keto. If you're losing your hair, ask yourself "Does what I have left look good now?" If so, you can maintain what you've got with generic Minoxidil from Target or Walmart ($19 for 3-month supply). Yep! Prospective lenders are looking for 3 credit lines, ideally 2 revolving and 1 installment, so you'll want to get at least 1 more credit card. Discover It is a good one, as you'll receive 5% back on varying categories which change each quarter, and a 100% match at the end of your first year for all the rewards you received that year. I myself have dedicated cards for gas, groceries, restaurants, etc. each paying 3% in that category.

You can have good credit without having debts. You do it with credit cards. Assuming your score has plummeted so far that you can't get a normal credit card, you'll need to get a secured one. Do a search and find a secured card with no annual fee and, if possible, reward points. Use the credit card to pay for things instead of your debit card. There are 2 ways to avoid having a large, unpayable cc bill at the end of the month: 1) When you use your cc to pay for something, transfer an equal amoun…

It's entirely possible to run a household on one income like the 50s and 60s if you're prepared to live like people lived: 1 car, paid off, 1 phone, no internet or cable, kids wear hand-me-downs, small house. My ex used to tell stories about how her parents would meet to play cards with the couple across the street, and for a treat they'd split a Snickers bar between the 4 of them.

My organs have a market value. Just as nobody should expect my estate to donate my house to the homeless without compensation (because I'm done living in it), I'm unwilling to donate my organs without some kind of tax benefit to my estate. The fact that we (in the US) can't be compensated for organ donation is a stupid rule that contributes to a shortage of organs, shortens the lives of would-be recipients, and robs the government of tax revenue which recipients would produce if they lived longe…

Honestly, it's amazing, although I do get bored of eating only meat sometimes. I'll sometimes throw some veggies into the mix just to liven things up. I get my biometrics checked every year for work, and have just aced the results the last 3 years. I'll typically eat once or twice a day--mainly steak or chicken, sometimes have eggs & cheese. Start. Saving. Now. As a banker, I can't stress this enough. $6-10k in a high-yield (lol) savings account (Discover gave the best rate, last time I looked, at 1%), then start hog piling money into a Roth IRA and participate in your future job's 401(k) and HSA. If you put away $261 a month and add 3% for inflation each year, you'll be a millionaire in 40 years. Have good credit, but avoid debt. Pay your credit cards in full each month. Check your bank account for errors and fraud daily.

My first year's Christmas present to myself was a coffee maker. I was so poor that year (2013), and I had been using one that I got at a garage sale for $1. Close your account and demand a cashier's check for your money. There is no "holding period" on electronic funds transfers. They (rightly) may consider that it's pretty unlikely for a 19 year old to have that much money in the bank, but they have to turn it over to you if you demand it. Also file a case with CFPB. Then find a bank willing to do business in a normal way.

I don't expect things of her that Nature didn't design--I don't expect her to stay a virgin until she's married, or to not look for a 10/10 guy (though she may not qualify to get one). If the wife was able to BS her way into getting the money (rare, but not saying it's never happened), the bank would be liable for replacing the money, at a bare minimum. They would have opened themselves to a lawsuit against which they would have no defense.

Banker here. In joint accounts, 100% of the money is owned by both people, hence the race to the bank when divorce is filed. Keeping separate accounts (or separate accounts with a bill-paying account) will prevent her from draining all the money. The divorce decree will dictate who ends up with what, but in the meantime the man's not penniless.

Certainly. They're companies you've heard of: Hormel Foods, McDonalds, AT&T. There is a particular subclass called "dividend aristocrats". These companies have raised their dividend at least 25 years in a row. Most of them will pay you quarterly, although some pay monthly. There are plenty of videos on YouTube about dividend investing; one of my favorite YouTubers is Andrei Jikh.

Former coin and PM dealer here. I own some SLV and some gold mining stocks to act as a hedge against a market crash, but I don't own any physical PMs. Yes, gold is historically a reliable store of value that keeps up with inflation. And yes, it is recognized universally as valuable. That's all it does, however. So while it beats a savings account, it's not exactly a way to increase your wealth. About a third of my customers at the bank are Somalis, and while I was dreading having to deal with them, I soon found that most of them are cool as shit. They do stay pretty well tucked in their own community--AFAICT they don't date outside it much. While the older Somalis are pretty stiff, the younger ones are just normal American teenagers. It's quite simple: Everyone wins but you. The jeweler makes a 300% markup on the ring, which is easier to sell thanks to their store credit card, which is underwritten by a bank. The bank makes up to 29% APR in credit card interest. When she files for divorce, the sells the ring to another jeweler or pawnbroker for 10% of what you paid for it, who sells it to a wholesaler. And the circle of life is complete.

I actually AM a banker, at a large bank. UPS stores may be (or may not be) screened out by our software as unacceptable physical addresses (thank you, Patriot Act), but a physical address is required. Thought to myself, "Gee, that guy had some pretty good gainz, I'd like to do that also". Turns out that after 3 years at a desk job, I literally can't do 100 push-ups in a day. Looking back at my history (and several years of banking dealing with business clients) some things come to mind: 1) Hire a bookkeeper. You went into business to sell widgets, not to fill out paperwork all day long. While you'd save some money doing it yourself, it just plain sucks. Hire that out. Taxes, payroll, filling out permits... it all sucks. 2) Just like "don't get married", don't take on a partner. I was actually very good at selling and marketing (which was somewhat hindered by my business partner at the time). We caught onto the whole idea of arbitraging between different markets (internet vs. brick and mortar) very early, and it's probably what allowed us to grow as fast as we did. As far as "free" online businesses, yeah, I definitely have an eye toward that. My former manger is doing $4k a month just in ebay sales (which is not free, but cheap). Some of us drink a lot, some of us don't. There is no alcohol allowed in "Lodge Assembled" (during meetings), although many Brothers will go out afterward and have a few (or a few too many). Short answer, "no", long answer "yes, but": If you are joining the Masons to make money, or network, or somehow take the fast track to financial success, you will be disappointed. If you are joining the Masons for other reasons and happen to be unemployed, you may be offered work from a Brother, but it will probably be digging ditches or washing dishes.

/r/MGTOW10/04/19 11:47 PM

I'm gonna take one stab at this, but I'm not getting bogged down into a huge debate. During Lodge, a standard King James Bible is on the altar. If a Brother is of another religion, his book may also be on the altar. Does this preclude Satanists? No, but I've never met a Brother who was a practicing Satanist. Honestly, I don't know what the "we work for Jews" angle is. Masonry is about being the best man you can be, not being someone's lapdog.

Remarkably, it's the opposite of that. Nobody in Masonry is supposed to care how much money you have, or how old you are, or who your family is. We are all equal in Lodge. When FDR was in the White House, the Master of the Lodge was the White House gardener. There is a hierarchy, of course, otherwise nothing would ever get done. Bills need to be paid and decisions made. This is done by volunteer officers or various committees. Anyone can put their hat in the ring to be an officer or serve on a c…

I've said it to other (unenlightened) dudes. "Man up, Nancy boy." But that was just trying to kick them out of their entitled upbringing. The first rule of Fight Club is "Don't talk about Fight Club." I get that, and I agree with it. But I also believe that we must act as positive role models for the kids coming up, whether they're our kids, Boy Scouts, co-workers, or whatever. Many of them haven't heard (or seen) lessons for standing on their own 2 feet and taking bad experiences in stride.

I'm 49, and recovering from losing everything in 2008. Life is sweet. I do what I want, when I want, without some harpy planning my weekends for me. I have very little debt, and am saving 17% of my income for retirement. I drive a 2005 Toyota which is paid off, and when my child support finishes in 2 years, I'll get a $550 per month pay raise. I understand that the housing market didn't really take off until the late 60s, when women entered the labor force. 2 incomes now meant that a couple could spend more on a house. Now it requires 2 incomes to buy a house. Your example must be the logical progression of that.

Per Mark Manson, 80% of Americans already have herpes, including most of us who don't know it. Oftentimes one or more lesions will appear, then disappear, then never appear again, but the "disease" still lives on in the nervous system. Sit in the front row and pay attention. Ask questions frequently. As the teacher sees that you're engaged in the subject, he'll be more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt in a pass/fail situation. You probably don't need to take notes--that's why you have a textbook. Unless, of course, the teacher says "THIS WILL BE ON THE TEST" or something similar. That's peak happiness, and it lasts somewhere from 2 months to a year or two. Not having a girl and being fine with it puts you at 85% of peak happiness (being able to hang out with whoever you want, when you want, and spend your money on stuff you want, not stupid shit like throw pillows) and you get to keep a lot …

Get a manual labor job. Study hard to not have to work manual labor anymore, or at least get paid more for it. Manual labor will suck while you're going through it, but it'll leave you feeling good (and tired) at the end of the day. You'll be less depressed, have more energy, and build a great body. I went from manual labor to banker (long story), and when I inevitably get fired, I'm probably going back to manual labor.

I'll take a whack at this. I owned 3 pawn shops and a liquor store for 10 years. When selling at retail, my markup was 300%. On money loaned out, I made 28% per month. It still wasn't enough. Trans girls want to be treated like "regular" women. So just treat her that way, and ignore her unfortunate medical condition. She's probably also batshit crazy, like "regular" women, but at least you won't have to beg for anal.

Everybody gets HPV. Everybody. You can get it from a handshake. Most people's immune systems "clear" the virus, meaning it comes and goes without any symptoms, and they never know they have it. Worst case with HSV is that you have to take Valtrex once a month to prevent outbreaks. In some countries, 75% of people have HSV, meaning that if you don't have it, you're the weirdo. Infection rates in the US are about 50% IIRC.

Anal on the first date is not uncommon. Tgirls love to fuck. What if you met a genetic woman who was perfect for you but you knew she couldn't have kids? Could you find a work-around? Just relax and have fun. You can have kids 'til you're 75.

1) It's not your job to let other people know she's trans. It's her job, when and if she feels comfortable doing so. If she's passable, many people won't even look twice. 1a) It takes courage to step up and date a trans girl. That's why so many of them are single. They get no end of offers to have anonymous sex in a hotel room, but few to actually take them out for pizza. Be courageous, and she'll reward you.

TRP works amazingly well on trans girls; I date them all the time. They're loaded with issues, though, so not really suitable as LTRs. I wouldn't worry about being on the down low. 50% of your friends won't GAF, and the other 50% will be jealous. Feel free to ask me any other questions.

Franchise cost is $45k (just to use the name, artwork, and recipes), with estimated startup costs between $1.2 and 2.5 million. So you go to a bank. Do you have amazing credit? If not, GTFO. Do you have 50% as a downpayment? If not, GTFO. In fact, you could both work full-time at $20 an hour, saving half of your pre-tax income, and in 10 years, you still wouldn't have 50% to put down. And you would have lived in poverty for 10 years. Sooo new plan?

HPV is super common (you can get it from just shaking hands) and 75% of the population has had it, though in the majority of cases the immune system clears it out of the body without creating warts. You won't really know whether you're still infectious until you get the warts removed and see if they grow back. Luckily, there's no HPV=cancer link in males (that I can recall). I'd go get your warts (if that's what they are) blasted, then take a couple weeks off.
/r/askTRP23/02/17 04:08 AM

Yeah, there are over 100 different types of HPV. They don't test for those. My doc was ridiculously clueless about HPV. Go see a urologist or a dermatologist.

Sounds like genital warts to me. You'd need to biopsy them to be sure. Find another doc or a free clinic to blast them off with liquid nitrogen.

I went through business loss, bankruptcy, divorce, and foreclosure all at the same time. I was a basket case--depressed, broke, no self-esteem, self-medicating with alcohol. Having bad credit costs you more on everyday things and removes options. 5) If you work for a company that offers a 401(k), you need to contribute up to the point they match you, or you're an idiot. 6) T…

I'm familiar with the history of gold-backed currency, but paper dollars haven't been backed by gold since the Nixon administration, nearly 50 years ago. Secondly, the big claim of PM fans is that precious metals hold their value in the face of inflation--that is, one ounce of gold can buy a cow, regardless of whether the paper money is inflated or not. Although a quick look at an historical commodity chart would show that there's no 1:1 correlation, let's pretend that's true. In your scenario, …

That's a fair point. Inflation sucks. But it's 3% a year, on average. What about fluctuations in the commodities markets, which can drop gold's value 3% in a day? What about the government stealing your gold bullion, like they did in the 1930s? Can you dig a hole deep enough to guard against that?
