Wife Crash and burn storiesThis. It sounds silly where you are at now, but true indifference is amazing. I remember reading advice like this when i was in the thick of it and thought “well thats stupid- i want to win and i want her to lose”. I dont even know if she crashed and burned or not. All i know is she is terrible at co-parenting and a disorganized mess when it comes to anything we need to accomplish for our kids/schedules. Im sure thats the rest of her life also. Itll take time, but one day you just actually wont … | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/08/25 03:20 PM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?Haha, agreed/thats what i thought! I think she realized its not possible for me to ever move there full time because of my kids and shes looking for another fairy tale Prince to come along. Meanwhile, I was here in the real world loving this mew mature version of a relationship. Detachment mode- engaged; if she reaches out ill happily go for more. If not, it is what it is. Honestly, this sub has always been great to just help me sort out my own inner thoughts on things, you guys rule! | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/08/25 01:03 AM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?Thanks for your perspective… what stinks is it seems hard enough to find someone you click with physically and mentally… now you throw on top needing logistics to line up and feels impossible! Would love to have some relationship with her with some boundaries, but doesnt seem like that’s what she is looking for. So, i guess I’ll just grieve it for a week or two and move on. Its actually refreshing to have been through divorce to have perspective. Makes you a little bit bulletproof cause nothing … | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/25 04:17 PM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?Thank you! I thought it would work for a lot longer but, you are correct. As much as I want it to be different scenario, it isnt. Wanting it to be different doesn’t change the facts. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/25 04:09 PM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?Yup— thank you for confirming…. pretty much the only choice really. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/25 04:08 PM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?Haha, hardly… this was my ideal scenario for a long time. Had plenty of time for myself and my kids, and lots of fun and good times on the regular. Oh well, life goes on | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/25 04:07 PM
Dating After Divorce, some perspective/advice ?yea, sounds very similar. So it goes I guess, but it is a real bummer! | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/25 04:04 PM
Those who remarried after divorce…Shit. Same same same timeline, details, fallout, new boyfriend etc and same feeling about everything as you. Are we good bro? I feel, in many ways my best version of me. Mentally and physically doing really well. But, Also a bit like I’m weird (certainly looked upon as weird by others) for not wanting or trying with women and just not seeing the point. I don’t want to let one gigantic and tragic failure color my whole worldview forever but…. Its hard to not see thru the entire charade and wonder… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/10/24 04:00 AM
My wife is leaving meGood analogy. Make it like recovering from Tommy John surgery. You need to shut it down for a season, see Dr. Andrews and put in hours and work on recovery. But afterwards, you are better than youve ever been. Lifes going to be very different. I found, and still do, this sub to be a very good place to be. Its pretty traumatic at times but take the chance to look within, find out what you think you need to improve and do it. Steady, consistent improvement. | 4 | Happy birthday?Oh man. Happy birthday and im glad you have them. So weird right? Like your world gets shattered but, really all that can kind of be put back together with some time and effort. People do it all the time. But the only important thing that you need to keep in tact and repair is your self image and respect and thats so hard when you feel like we have. Idk, im 38 and been divorced basically 2 years and i just, theres so much happiness i feel. The only thing i miss is easy consistent sex. Happiness … | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/09/24 08:34 PM
Those who divorced with a baby, what is life going to look like?Im two years post and it can be really hard, my kids were 3 and less than a year old. Especially in the beginning, expect it to be really hard. Life as you knew it is totally different and that can make anyone shook. And theres times still that are really sad and i wished it worked out differently. | 11 | Was it better?Only time will tell. Every day is different. I love being authentically me all the time. I hate not getting to bang her on the regular cause shes really hot. I love being a dad, i hate being a single dad without the financial means i used to have and i hate the life they have to live because of us. I love the feeling of peace, calm and happiness. | 5 | What does everyone do to keep their mind off their ex?Dangggg yup. I am 2 years out and share your sentiments and actions. I did everything “right” and in a way that makes me more miserable that I’m still sad and lonely. What I miss is being part of a family. Our co-parenting (actually parallel parenting) relationship is not great. I went from a doughy 190 to a shredded 145. I think I stepped up in an awesome way as a single dad. Its a brutal brutal circumstance. The best case for us is we shut up, man up, quietly move on. For them its this exciting freedom YOLO go live it up while we have the kids. The first few are red flags and they know it, so itll be hidden and you will only get the full picture when youre in too deep. But the last 3 are the ones that will suck you in and entice you and eventually ruin you. 8- when youre younger, shes hot and sexy and puts effort in and were dumb and just are attracted to that. 9- shes fake nice… to you! Youre a guy, its your girl, its your family. youd fight like hell for it. Theres nothing to fight for there, just not how it works. | 5 | Acknowledging an important dayFrom experience, no good comes from it. My guess is she wouldnt really know if it was your dads one year death anniversary nor text you. Lifes not all about reciprocity, but… move on as much as you can. There are certain things that make it so you cant move on like kids, finances, kids, and also finances. Finances about kids. Everything has gotten easier with time, this probably will too. its the past, present and “future” thats hard. The past— so many great huge memories there. DIY’d so much. I felt like that because i felt like a loser who was losing and she was a winner who was winning. But we werent playing the same game, or there wasnt a winner or a loser in the grand scheme. Especially after i put in effort, admitting my shortcomings, apologizing, trying to improve. All that used to be reciprocated— then it just… wasnt. Then it became negative, verbally abusive and slanderous, which sounds like your experience. Guessing your ex was never ever wrong and her opinions became irrefutable facts. Man can do it for years- can problem solve rationally, can communicate effectively. It was so oddly embellished on this online support group and it got a lot of positive support from strangers and all that just fueled the fire, made it real to her. Fuck it. Being a beautiful woman fucks you up in the head from all experiences i’ve had. She likely has some kind of cluster B disorder. We have hobbies and interests to devote time to that dont involve talking about your friends marriage and tiktok. So, the wife defaults as the friend who stays with the group. It will do nothing good and believe it or not, may end up as bad. I made a christmas card for my stbxw , signed it FROM OUR KIDS who are 1 and 4. Initially made her sob and hug me foe 10 seconds, and thenit was taken as a love bomb and flipped later on to “i said no gifts for christmas and you didnt respect that.” For a homemade card. | 2 | Anything to be done- STBXW went on a podcast discussing my “emotional abuse”Yes. She purchased it. I saw it in our house while watching my kids like i do more than 50% of the time. I thumbed thru it. Its her to a T. “the Blamer”…. Its genius of a thing to claim because, only a narc would then say no you are a narcissist or defend themselves. Welp. Only 17 years more of being tied at the hip. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/01/23 02:06 AM
Anything to be done- STBXW went on a podcast discussing my “emotional abuse”After 10 blissful years, we had our second child and she started acting nutty for the last 1 year. Coincides with her going on an antidepressant for post partum depression. She claims the meds were the best thing ever for her and it pinpointed that i was the sole problem. Nutty being Really explosive, gaslighting, abusive verbally and occasionally physically, brain fog (literally minutes later would say what just happened didnt happen). I dont care all that much overall, I am losing some friends… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/01/23 01:59 AM
How do I save this marriage?Yes. Exactly listen to this one ! Its like a fishing story, after 6 years the fish is bigger and your human mistakes are emotional abuse. Theres one thing you can do to “save the marriage” i guess, but i recommend either keeping status quo for the kids if you want to until she goes to the next step or just cut it off yourself now. You can, turn inwards, evaluate where you think you suck at life and try to improve FOR YOURSELF only… and basically let her go. If she thinks its a huge mistake then … | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/01/23 01:58 AM

Anyone elses ex or stbxw really hot?I fuckin love this woah. Same story for me. I wish i could pin point when i turned into a bitch but what everyone knows and says is true. I used to do whatever i wanted and then started like asking permission. Since shes hot and a narc she would respond better and was like, addicted to me back then Bc the validation aspect…. It all makes sense. I knew it once ill re-learn it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/23 07:12 PM

Anyone elses ex or stbxw really hot?Just love this sentiment in general. I got to really focus in on it daily. Reminds me of the japanese life concepts someone sent me. Dont compare yourself with anyone, accept and let go etc. i suppose every thing is figure-out-able | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/01/23 10:58 AM

What else to talk about besides my divorceIt went really fuckin well. 4 and 1.5 year old and we had sooooo so much fun, everyone acted like i had just seen them yesterday. And I absolutely crushed being a single dad in a hectic environment! The wives even said i get an A+ and they couldnt imagine trying to come here solo with 2 kids. Felt like a real win! Didnt get into divorce talk much, just said i really appreciated everyones help and inviting me along and they are an important community for my kids and i. | 9 | Does she think you're a sucker?I wonder if anyone else had this experience but as young as maybe 15 years old, definitely in my 20s as a bartender…. Older guys have just peppered in here and there “never get married its a trap”…. often. Im 37 just getting a divorce now, and I seriously thought almost every time “wow that guys a loser/drunk/ugly/insert shortcoming here, no wonder his wife left him”. Jokes on me! If “educating young men” is actually informative like you are talking about maybe i would have listened. Always just… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/11/22 11:05 AM
