Wow. I just learned something new today...that I didn't need to know...but needed to know. God, I hope I never meet anyone like this. That poor woman is scarred for life, I'm sure.

How do you act out being a piece of furniture? Just stand in a corner stiff as a board for hours?

Your instincts are spot on. Even if he is not a creep, that's way too much access for a first date. If she genuinely has an interest in photography, that's a cute idea fordown the road. Does she really want a stranger having pics of her to do whatever he wants with them? Because you know he'll end up snapping some of her too, not just the festivities.

Him inviting you over under "platonic oretenses" shows intent. That bolsters your claim of assault. As soon as you get there, he switches up. Turn his ass in. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Yeah. I now have a HVM who loves me and all that good shit, and I'm like 'Eh'. The irony. I think I just finally get that being untethered is more rewarding than being in a union. I have an ex husband and teo children. I don't want anymore responsibilities, and even loving someone comes with expectations. I don't have much left to give. Just want someone to spend time with when I want, not every day all day. Ew. lol

Girl, no. He is supposed to be chomping at the bit to claim you. The fact that you had to ask (never ask!), he doesn't like talking about feelings, he doesn't like labels....these are giant red flags and major deal-breakers. He sounds like a Neanderthal. And trust, he will never respect you, as you've shown him that HE'S the prize and not you. You're supposed to be guarding your heart while you vet. Cut him off, read the handbook, and you will attract someone worthy once you understand how this …

This right here. ALL OF THIS. I broke up with my narc ex many years ago while on the fone. Hung up on him in mid-sentence and never looked back. He called leaving sweet rational voicemails. When I didn't respond, he predictably left angry, insulting ones. I never responded. I blocked him in places I could, but I am in media and some of my profiles have to be public I never mentioned my feelings about breakups or relationships. I knew he'd be looking for clues I was unhappy or angry. Wouldn't giv…

OMG. This is so on point. I got so used to him being confused that I just answered all of his stupid questions. And when I would blow up about things, he'd say that same thing, "Tell me if you need help" or "Just tell me what you want me to do." Never understanding that it's the MENTAL WORK that you need help with. If I have to think of everything all the time, plan it out, then tell you what to do, what do I need you for? I'm so glad I'm not married to him anymore.

OMG. My ex loves these kids but I swear, he's a kid himself. He never grew up. It's infuriating!

My ex would look in the cabinets and say, "Where is the" so and so. Or if the kids' phones broke and I needed him to call the insurance he'd act like he didn't know which company it was or how to reach them instead of looking at the paperwork HE signed. We're divorced now, obviously. The kids were at his house last week while I was working on a film and this fool calls me and interrupts me and literally says, "What were the dinner plans? I thought you'd be back by now." Mind you, our kids are te…

He apologized profusely and offered an reasonable excuse (he may legitimately have cancer...waiting to find out), but it's kinda ruined things for me regardless.

I looked back at the text. He actually said, "My face should be in ur 🐱😜". Not that that's much better. I can see he was being silly,, but I wasn't in the mood and I wanted to establish a boundary now instead of later. He did apologize immediately but then later decided he was angry. Now today he's wanting to apologize. I don't feel like talking.

Well, tonight the normally patient and kind man I've been dating for seven months got angry with me for honestly sharing my feelings. He made a sexual remark when I was literally talking about the weather and I told him I didn't like it and that it's when a benign convo turns sexual. All via text. When I called him he told me he was "furious" that I turned something meant to be sweet and flirty and made it into something it was not, and gave me attitude. I ended the call and am considering endin…

Well, I just got off the phone with him and I was right. He was upset. Said I hurt his feelings and that he was livid and furious that I took something that was supposed to be sweet - a joke -- and turned it into something it's not. I was speechless, because he's always told me that if I ever thought he was being too much to let him know. And I did, and he didn't like it and he handled it very poorly. Good to know. SMH

I wish I had made the correlation. My ex spent most of his days working. He had clear case of anxiety and ADHD that he would not address, even to improve his own life! Just wound up all the time and being taken out by any little thing. It was so annoying. He had no fitness regimen, where I would work out several times a week. He started trying to work out a little at home, but he didn't stick to it. The story of his life.

Girl, bye. You absolutely did the right thing. You're only second guessing yourself now because your friend told you he feels some kind of way. You're not valuing your instincts or your choices. He's a flake. Why is he drinking like that if he's got a date? He sounds like a loser.

Ugh. I used to do that with my narc ex during the relationship (b4 I knew he was a narc)..Wanna punch myself now, bc I'm sure the weirdo saved them all and probably finds satisfaction in reading them years later. Just don't do it. Same for having 'talks' in person. I used to do this with my ex husband, thinking if he could just see/feel how his behavior was affecting me, if I said just the right words it would magically click for him finally and he'd stop being a cold, LVM douche. But nope. The …

He never let's it get cut off. He has the money. He just pays in installments because he has some mental hangup when it comes to money and letting huge sums of money go at once. Bizarre. He pays her bill. I did consider going that route. Thanks.

Wildly attracted to him, actually. But my sanity matters more than sex right now, so fully vetting him is important to me. BUT Per FDS, a few weeks ago I let him get me off (no penetration) to vet him sexually. It was awesome. I told him he/we had to get tested for everything first and he happily agreed. It will happen soon. ;)

I am a 'creative', and I will tell you that the chances of making what you make or more is not very likely at his age -- but also not impossible. Our objectives and definition of success tend to differ vastly from your average nine to fiver. Not that financial scurity is not important, but creating is what drives us. I don't think he is a red flag, per se -- because there's nothing wrong with him living/earning as he does, if it makes him happy. You two just sound like different people, that's a…

OMG, same. I divorced my ex because he would not address his anxiety. He'd acknowledge he was the issue but would fold like a cheap suit every time he was asked to step up in any way. Now our kids are old enough to see his LVM qualities and they are so sick of his crap.

This is great advice for someone in an abusive situation. Fortunately, that's not the case. He poses no threat to me. We have an amicable relationship and we share children. I just need him to gtfo. lol

I once dated a narc who told me, "I should throw you down these fkn stairs." Needless to say, we broke up after that. But I told him, "Oh yeah? And you'll be coming with me." He had the right one.

He's never lived alone when we met. Me with my mom, him with a roommate. But yeah, totally inappropriate. He is a child. Can't wait for him to leave.

So annoying. My ex, who has to be outta here by 1/1, has been dragging his feet. He told my ELEVEN YEAR OLD daughter that he's "afraid" to live on his own. Wtf? Firstly, why would a parent tell that to a child? And second, AFRAID? He wasn't afraid when he was ignoring my point of view and getting defensive because I had actual feelings and legitimate complaints. Like, what did he think was gonna happen? So, I'm supposed to feel sorry now? N, get ur balls up and GTFO.

Well, he was paying rent here so I didn't feel I could legally make him get out without some time. It should have been 30 days. but we have children and I didn't want it to be abrupt for them. But he's totally taking advantage of that and being super nice to me now. IDC. I told him in November, "Don't wait until December to start looking." I even sent him a few listings myself (hint, hint!). Grown ass man with jacked up credit that he was supposed to fix when were still together (another reason …

My ex-bf forced-- I mean FORCED--me to take money from him for my school bill. He gave me a long speech about how as a man it was his job to take care of me and what good is he if he can't help me when I need it. I had never taken money from a man before, but he convinced me to break my rule. He pressed the cash into my hand with kisses and sweet words. We have a fight. "I want my fkn money!" Next fight: "Just give me my money!" Every. Time. When he was angry, the gift suddenly became a loan.

This is my worst nightmare, and why I haven't blocked my narc ex via phone. I want to know if he's planning to come and 'surprise' me. I don't ever want him so desperate to reach me that he just shows up. He has cyberstalked me for four years. Haven't heard from him in a while, but I know he's always watching. Were you afraid when you saw him? Do you think he'll come back??

The guy I've been dating for almost three months has some female friends he's known since college. Idk any details, but we need to have a convo about it before we go too much further.
