With the crowd that would attract I can see the line out of the local police station at 10am the next day now. Shoes in hand with such conviction to take back the night.

So who gets to check out all the toilet footage? Team room trash talk? And general police black humour?

Bah! The people electing to have that are the ones we want to have kids. Intergenerational welfare dependant 16 year olds that have 7 kids before 25 are the ones we don't. The meth just makes them more fertile! It's infuriating.

Privately owned public places need to have a owner or authorised person warn you to leave and give you reasonable oppertunity to do so before trespass can be considered.

Sounds like we need a investigation and potentially a court case then? Hmmm?

Where I'm from garbage collecters don't even need to get out the truck. More than 1 way to skin a cat. Perhaps if more women were employed in more fields they would discover you can create better more effective systems to reduce stress on the body.

What exactly do you think a radical feminist is? Doesn't seem to match with what you are saying.

Or. Concent was withdrawn.

If concent is removed halfway though the act it would make sense that he was offered a condom. Remember concent isn't just for the beginning, it can be withdrawn at any time.

That's a little rude. Women can be just as effective as men at that job it would be a generalisation to say otherwise, like that man at the playground is a pedo. I'm also looking to take maternity leave at work in the near future. I'm male.
/r/MensRights27/11/14 08:00 AM

That's where you are wrong. By reducing the surface area of the penis you reduce the chance of transmission. A more effective surgery would be to remove the penis entirely.

Yeh I'm just parroting what others have said in the thread in case you missed it. Personally I think it's dishonest to say that all rapes that did not get a guilty verdict are false.

I felt she let it slide because the interview was becoming stagnant, she brushed over that point and addressed the general gist of the meaning. She then comes back and addresses patriarchy which is the point of the definition you mention is based on.

The majority of child molesters are not paedophiles.
/r/MensRights11/09/14 09:52 AM

You are assuming to much. What makes you think everyone has access to children until they are proven a preditor? Also you are assuming that all child molesters are paedophiles, this is not even close to the truth.
/r/MensRights10/09/14 11:18 PM

You don't think access to children has anything to do with it? Are you serious? How does a pedophile with no access to children harm a child? They don't.

Unfortunately the police wont ever release their reasoning. It could be because the of police bias, that he gave a confession to that crime or simply because (and wrongfully) he was a bigger jerk or seemed more culpable during the arrest and custody. I think all we have done is moved the potential blame from the courts onto the police.

Though it doesn't say I would suggest concurrent as the indictments were not committed separately but over the course of a single episode.

But not in this case. I have had a bit of a Google and found the reason for the added sentence. The husband and wife both pleaded guilty to two felony counts of child abuse and endangerment with sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury. But the husband also copped two misdemeanors: two counts of false imprisonment and a lone count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

I absolutely understand where you are coming from. But I would argue the opposite. The other first responses to OP automatically assumed that the reasoning for the tougher sentence was because of prejudice against men with the only evidence of this being the higher rate of harsher penalties. I feel that when commenting on a single instance, in a single trial emphasis added that we should be making sure that there is no other reason but prejudice against men at play. We should not just assume. I'…

But it's two parents living in the exact same household committing the exact same negligent behavior against the exact same children. Both their own children. One may have given a confession to which the other did not. Without said confession the charge would fall though. That would explain what you mentioned, however this is just hypothetical on hypothetical. What we need is the Judges remarks from the committal. The judge might not have given reason for the higher sentence giving weight to OPs…

There are a whole host of reasons for this. Just looking at face value possibly because the police didn't have the evidence to charge them jointly. So while charging seperately the police could hold one member to certain elements of one crime but not the other etc. looks like the police were throwing everything that would stick to this couple they could. Remember police aren't in the habit of taking cases to trial they can loose (costs come out of their budget). Basically the old '4 sides to eve…

Fucks sake men's rights. Because 2 people are convicted of the same crime (and they weren't) doesn't at all mean they will get the same sentance. During the committal hearing the judge will always explain their reasoning for the sentance handed down. The article doesn't mention it, but you are all acting like it did and it was a men's rights violation. Edit: Ok, I have had a bit of a Google and found the reason for the added sentence. The husband and wife both pleaded guilty to two felony counts…

Have sex with someone too young to legally consent, you should be prosecuted under that same law.
/r/MensRights08/08/14 02:17 PM

No... Anyone that has sex with a child should be prosecuted. Age of consent is a very serious thing.
/r/MensRights08/08/14 02:14 PM

She is unable to consent. She is under age. When 2 or members are under the consenting age case law requires that the power in the relationship be analysed. In this case it is clear that as the youngest member and out numbered she was not in control.

I fail to see how sober the men are comes into play? They shouldn't be having sex with a minor. Her lack of consent is based entirely on her age.
/r/MensRights07/08/14 02:58 PM
1

Nail on the head. The point of statutory rape is that the age of the victim is deemed incapable of consenting. Thus, enthusiastic consent and previous sexual partners don't count for anything. Rape is entirely based on consent and perceived consent.
/r/MensRights07/08/14 02:53 PM

Not really muddy. She was under the age of consent. They were above. The power in the relationship was definitely not hers (case law). Her guardians should press for charges and the men should be tried.

Literally nothing to do with men's rights. First time I've said that. The only mild, somewhat abstract way I can link it to men's rights is that she's a feminist and proberbly doesn't like the movement and or she's a woman and she did something kinda almost bad.

You know that the difference between sex and gender can litterally be scientifically studied right? Scientifically as in results can be observed and repeated. To say sex = gender is delusional.
/r/MensRights28/07/14 12:18 PM

This isn't true. We have distinguished sex from gender in language(English) for hundreds of years. I can proved sources if you wish but I'm on my phone. Also, because a people are not considered to be in the majority doesn't mean that we get to ignore their issues. Remember it wasn't that long ago that homosexuality was a 'mental illness' to be cured with electricity to the brain.

Rapists aren't responsible for their rapes? Am I being trolled? Is your response some big joke and I'm being filmed for some reality TV program? Because your opinions are out of step with Western Law and Western Justice it isn't funny. I have no interest in conversing with you any longer.
/r/MensRights02/07/14 08:10 AM

No. You are still shifting the blame. If the courts make a wrongful conviction, it's the courts fault. If the convicted is raped in prison is it the courts fault? No. It's the rapists. Purgery was her crime not rape, kidnapping etc.
/r/MensRights01/07/14 09:42 PM

No. My points are founded. In law. Read them again. You even quoted them. not responsible as it is the state that brings the action in criminal proceedings. Your first opinion however: Yes, but the state is only acting as an in instrument of justice. Brooker is the one who turned it in the direction of Fensome and thus the one responsible. You imply that the criminal court is some form of tool that the victim can wield at will and thus is responsible for the findings and outcome of that court. T…

I'm not interested in playing the false equivilance game. The justice system is not a tool. Your arguement falls apart on this point alone.

Nobody should ever be raped in prison. She is not at fault either way. The rapist is.
/r/MensRights01/07/14 10:09 AM

He would have been brutally raped for all of those years She is not responsible for this. The rapist is responsible. Always has been. This is the sort of blame shifting that feminists do.

But she isn't responsible for putting him in prison. She would be the reason yes, but not responsible as it is the state that brings the action in criminal proceedings. It would be the justice systems fault for the wrong conviction. Your analogy is a false equivalence. I know you like analogies so here we go. Man is on trial for murder sentence carries the death penalty, woman gives false testimony on the stand that is vital to his conviction. Man is convicted and sentenced to death, after death…

I agree, I think real rape victims would also feel the same(and a lot of other indictable offences). I feel that a major difference when comparing rape to false allegation (that is often overlooked) is that, this man after this judgement can now take solace and point anyone to this judgement and rightfully declare their innocence aswell as know their perp is behind bars. A rape victim in the same instance, I feel, could only take comfort in the latter as they continue to be a rape victim.

New sentences require capital letters. I litterally cannot read your first paragraph. It's like a well thought out, neatly presented thesis but written in crayon. Also, I'm usually the last person to correct grammar, but this was painful.

Right... You make me sound like quiet the spy. And does that theory come with a free tin foil hat? And did you really just link to this comment thread? It's a tricky thing with big consequences and it's coupled with strong emotions. But the law is absolutely fucked. Currently if a stranger scrapes my skin in public, isolates my DNA and cultivates sperm with my DNA and creates a baby, legally that is my child that I am responsible for.
/r/MensRights14/06/14 11:08 PM

My constitution only outlines how our parliament should be step up so that it can effectively create current up to date laws. In its-self if doesn't outline any laws or ideals outside of democracy, this stops absolute and outdated laws that can never be changed no matter how much society and the environment changes. Remember, the majority of the world isn't American.

I wouldn't say analysing our proposed legislation as egalitarian or not is navel gazing. The worst thing that could happen at anytime in this movement is that it is hijacked by misandrist or misogynists.
/r/MensRights14/06/14 04:20 AM
1

Can't disagree with that. To add to it a little perhaps where necessary add anti-discriminatory legislation.
/r/MensRights14/06/14 04:15 AM

Absolutely agree. Definitely a criticism but perhaps not un-egalitarian.
/r/MensRights14/06/14 04:12 AM

I don't think it's the MRM aim to create equality. I think the MRM only focus's on the rights of men and that bleeds a little into gay rights, trans rights and sex positivity. However the MRM can still have the capacity to have sexist and or non egalitarian beliefs. But I don't think that the movements goals are themselves un-egalitarian.

I couldn't give two shits about whether it's nature or nurture. Men and women are effectively different, and either you understand it, or you don't. Doesn't matter the cause. Then why have such a invested interest in pushing the biological bandwagon while completely ignoring socialisation? Come on dude, this is nature vs nurture 101. Regarding the condescending tone, I found that you were playing dumb. That, you seemed to be making out you knew less than you did.
/r/MensRights07/06/14 04:00 AM

So the fact that women go after men and men go after women is instinctual despite having very similar dna, you don't think dna can affect other behaviors/related behaviors? Of course it can. But when these BEHAVIORS are measured against learnt BEHAVIORS they pale in comparison. Come on dude, this is nature vs nurture 101. In just about every social study since the dawn of time environmental factors always seem to play a greater role than genetic factors.

Well just about everything, from fairy tales to government policy. Doesn't mean they will be heterosexual though. I feel like you are trying to say 'Aha! See, sexual attraction isn't learnt behavior.' I never said it was, what I'm talking about is everything that stems from that. eg Everything TRP claims to give advice about. I really feel you need to have a stronger understanding of sex and gender before entering into an discussion like this. I feel like I'm going over the basics. I would recom…

You are trying to put words into my mouth and it is only pointing out your own misunderstanding of the terms. For instance; social conventions !== society. Small tribes have just as many social conventions as modern society's. To say that you need a 'society' to mate is ridiculous, you answered your own question. Remember in regard to TRP we are talking about the outward manifestations of heterosexuality. I'll say it again. These are learnt.
/r/MensRights05/06/14 02:56 PM
1

How could you possibly display your heterosexuality or hope to attract a partner without conforming to learnt social conventions? Even cavemen used these conventions. TRP is a subreddit where it seems every post completely ignores the difference between sex and gender. As if your gender identity and sexuality is hard coded into your DNA. That everybody's idea of what gender is conforms to the median, that everyone was born with 1 of 2 minds that are dictated but what is between your legs.

The only way to get a pistol or similar is to buy it on the black market, I can imagine $5k easy or a shitty pistol, but you have to have the right contacts. The only other way is to have it given to you by someone really old, the pistol is likely older Or purchase metal lathe and make it yourself. I doubt Rogers was in a position to do any of these.

Yeh they can, rob a car or a house, and steal a gun. It's not just the buying guns from stores part that needs to become more regulated it's the whole system. You can still do the self defense thing, but some really really common sense rules should be put in place. It will litterally half the amount of dead kids. Fun fact. More Americans were killed in the US by civilians with guns than soldiers in Vietnam over the same time period.

In my country if you want a single fire .22, slug gun, or paintball gun. you have to apply through the police, 6 week cool off period, 2 day community course with a practical. Then you can purchase a gun and receive it with another 4 week cool of. The weapon must be stored in a locked safe that is bolted in the ground with ammunition locked separately. If you have a previous conviction for violent crime, domestic violence order, mentally ill, you will not get a gun license. Police are also able …

Shooting 20 people in a minute was improbable but the entirety of California erupting in gun fire was not worth a mention? Shooting stuff is fun. Carrying a gun around in public is cool and makes you feel tough. Who would want to mess with you when you are 'packing heat'. Perhaps if more people were carrying gu…

Woman's psyche is easy to understand all you have do is look how women (and men) are socialised. Put a 5 year old in a dress and tell her not to flash her nickers because it's not what girls do then marvel at how much better your son is at climbing.

Majority of the measurable mental differences are due to learnt behaviour. Socialisation leaves the physical differences in men and women for dead. Generally speaking the reason men and women 'act that way' is because they were taught to.

I feel men's rights and TheRedPill are not related at all. I would say mens rights is closer to feminism than it is to TRP. I also take issue with TRP often discussing women as acquirable objects without agency.

It's a little more than that, let's be honest. It's an ideology. The subs name even references a pop culture movie where only after the red pill has been swallowed can a person see the world for what it really is. I think it's probably more a case of a thief believing everyone steals.

In regard to sexuality perhaps. But not in aspects of courtship, gender roles, dating dynamics etc this sort of thing is entrenched into us from socialisation not biology. I don't mind saying that these norms began in or are influenced by biology, but as the measure in which they affect us individually, socialisation plays the much bigger role.

Well that a loaded question if I have ever seen one, but sure I'll bite. First problem I see is with the question itself 'genetic OR socialised'. I think you will find that the differences between sex and gender are everything regarding transpeople. Close, my point was that the redpill completely ignores the clear differences between gender, sex and socialisation. You cannot boil this down to outliers as internalised gender and the way we are socialised is appart of all of us. What better way to observe these differences than in small presentage (as you pointed out) of transgender and gay persons. It's not that they negate th…

Seems to be very different from my schooling. I orginally thought that miss was in relation to being unmarried and how there is no male equivalent, I find that sexist. Perhaps that's what Richardnorth meant I'm not sure yet. But that's definately not even close to what crackerjacksurgon wrote. To me the actual extend of the mutilation isn't even the main point. It's the fact that the child is being altered from their natural state before consent with no active medically justifiable advantages. Innocent until proven guilty only extends to the accused. Whatever conclusions though logical drawn from a person being considered or not considered a victim should be allowed. Media or otherwise. /r/MensRights17/04/14 04:35 AM

The 'accuser' is always the prosecution. Always. Never not. The defence CAN cross examine any witness that takes the stand victim or not. But they cannot and should not be able to make the victim take the stand. You seem to have a mindset I have seen here before, that a court case in regards to rape should just be a he said she said arguement, and whoever wins doesn't go to jail. No regard for burden of proof, elements of the offence, men's rea of the defendant, but just that the victim should b…
/r/MensRights15/04/14 08:14 PM
1

Well that's upto the prosecution. The victim could have been heard screaming for help etc. remember for a rape case the element for unwanted is in the mind of the offender. It doesn't need to be proven though the victim. Also I feel you are not fully understanding the scope of not putting a victim on the stand. The victim could be too sick, too young, mentally disabled, mentally unwell etc. Also it isn't just sexual offenses that make it nessasary either.
/r/MensRights15/04/14 07:04 PM
1

I'm not even sure you are reading what I'm writing. Your reply was full of accusations of what you think I'm saying. Not what I am saying. A person doesn't give testimonial evidence until they hit the stand. If they don't take the stand they shouldn't be cross examined. It isn't the victim that brings the action it's the prosecution. What I mean by good character defence is that the accused is considered 'in good character', unless the defence brings up their character as a defence. The prosecut…

Ah yes. The assumption that everyone speaking English on the Internet is American and that the consitution is of such authority is was if it was handed down by God himself. Also if it was in contrast to this section how would it stand up in your highest courts? Your second point is similarly null, no body is taking away the right to cross examine evidence that is brought forward.…
/r/MensRights15/04/14 04:01 PM

It isn't nessasary. Burden of proof rests with the prosecution. If they can prove reasonable doubt without using the victim that should be fine. Victim testimony should be treated the same way as a good character defense. No point causing real damage to a victim if it can be avoided, expecially if the victim isn't bringing the action.

Absolute false equivilance. Many forms of rape will leave no evidence. But if you wanted to liken rape to another form of evidence for a different crime I would say it's closer to that of child molestation, rarely is there physical evidence.

Interesting point about trans. I'm very unread on the matter but it fascinates me, I feel we could learn a lot about masculinity from trans people. Regarding sex positivity, I feel it goes a lot deeper than simply the issue of demonising masculine sexuality. For example, sex education, prostitution, polygamy and the nitty gritty of consent. Consent seems to e only discussed in terms of legality and effects on the accused. Doesn't make sense to me.
/r/MensRights04/04/14 03:35 AM

Again you are being speculative. Again no evidence doesn't mean 'she just regretted it later' it just means there was no evidence. I fail to see how lack of evidence to prosecute equates 'it didn't actually happen'.

Yeh I agree. Feminsim does tend to advocate for women in situations where a 'positive' outcome would be to detrement of equality. But this divide while sometimes perpetuated by feminism, was never created by feminism. You want to justify this with common law? Could you imagine what would have been permissible under common law 50 year ago if someone was found doing this? Forget about the public, the police would have beaten the shit out of them…

Demonspawn ideals are fucked up. He had a complete misunderstanding of what agency and consent are. He believed that photons that come off a person are for anyone to collect, this isn't the case. Another problem I have with this behaviour is that it can be a sign of 'escalation' with a person that has no respect for consent. Well no. Many peoples marriages have been completely destroyed for years before divorce papers are filed. To imply that because women are more likely to be the cause of a break up because they are the ones that usually file first is dishonest. It would be the same as me concluding that women have better relationship intuition and understand when a relationship is over because of this evidence (which of course is completely unknown regarding this study).

Fucking thank you. All the way down here I find the first comment that doesn't follow the circle of jerk. Who would have thought that a social action could possibly have a social reaction. But no. Apparently according to the comments here it's written into women's DNA when they dump a man.
/r/MensRights23/02/14 08:54 AM

The reason for a break up isn't caused by who submits the divorce papers first. Your 'evidence' is a classic case of putting the carriage before the horse.

Right. So could you explain how we go from a social standing issue into a biological attraction issue? You don't think other things are at work here other than women like money, men like boobs? Your comment is completely oblivious to the fact that gender is a social construct and gender is interchangeable.
/r/MensRights23/02/14 08:35 AM

Agreed. Another example of a absolute social construct being explained away with pseudo biology. 'How possibly could a break up due to a lost job have been caused by anything less than a biological attraction between men and women.' Dammit people. Social constructs.

A belief in the guilt of the accused is an internal manifestation, there is no conviction or consequence outside your own mind. It's not categorical imperative you are given information and your make a decision on the info given. If there is info that points to the 'victim' lying of course I won't believe them. Why wouldn't feminism draw attention to this? The reasons behind the wage gap are important female issues that Feminsim should use the wage gap to highlight. Are women spending more time at home cleaning? Are they caring for children when they would be better suited working? Are they negotiating their pay? These are all female issues that contribute to the gap. Also that whole 'tha menz' bullshit is tired. Don't treat your opposition like a retard because they have a differing opinion.

I'm not sure? I would be more likely to believe the alleged victim until other evidence starts to come out of the situation. Him being my brother doesn't really make him immune to commiting crime. I would obviously keep this opinion to myself to keep together the family and what not. Regarding political party's I won't believe anything until it's been delt with by an open court.
/r/MensRights04/02/14 07:13 PM

But there is still an underlying feminist issue they need to bring attention too. The wage gap is a good indicator of that. Why shouldn't they use it accurately? For instance here is the gap of total wages between men and women, what's happening behind the scenes here to create this? Are women spending more time on house work? Are they not negotiating or higher pay? Are they being the primary care giver to children when they are the more suited parent for work? These are all feminist issues.

In your scenario I could have potentially raped the girl. I shouldn't not have taken a girl to bed who I was unsure she was able to consent. /r/MensRights04/02/14 05:52 PM

I'd say the majority of the general public would believe the wage gap. Why wouldn't they? Even Obama is quoting it. MRM has no mainstream audience. Also as I understand it, it's not actually untrue but it's usage is dishonest. Feminists and MRAs alike always cherry pick statistics that show their ideology to be the more pressing issue. For instance what is the wage gap between all men and women total?
/r/MensRights04/02/14 05:50 PM

Yeh you really lost me in the American politics there. I'm not American and I don't own a gun? Sorry? The feminists I spoken too have a firm understanding of patriarchy in both a political and academic context. They were as feminist as you or I am MRA. It's not really fair to put these people in the same group if you don't want people to do the same to your group.

/r/MensRights03/02/14 06:46 PM

I don't deny the biological/psychological differences in men and women they are as plain as day. But people always miss how powerfully socialisation is. Basically everything that defines our genders is learnt. This is where the TRP falls short, they think men haven't progress since our cave times where the 'alpha' male is the one gets the woman. It's like I said... Cave like.
/r/MensRights03/02/14 06:43 PM

This is so retarded it isn't funny. You reference alpha females as a definition from Wikipedia. Yes I'm aware it is a thing. But it isn't generally used in TRP. Like I said. To TRP women aren't 'alphas/betas' they are the prize, the goal, the object. And no. social animals still do not have a construction of gender even remotely close to humans. If you want a definition try 'gender' then look at 'sex'. Compare the pair.

'The gender that gets pregnant' oh Jesus. You literally have no concept of what gender is. This is so fucked up it isn't funny and it only proved my point. Notice in the first definition it states only males? And then it goes on to say animals? I am perfectly aware of the use of the term. When talking about gender in a modern society comparing us to animals is absurd. Animals have no society and no construction of gender. This is nothing more than a childish correlation/causation argument I would expect from a high schooler. Also the fact that this label is not given to women furthers…

Because it isn't used to refer to women it implies they are a prize to be won by the male becoming 'alpha'. It's also extremely sexist towards men, but that doesn't diminish how it's sexist towards women as well.

/r/MensRights03/02/14 04:26 PM

I'd say they also objectify men. Classing people as alpha and beta like 15 year olds. Their view of what men and masculinity is is too narrow and completely falls apart when homosexuality and transgenderism is introduced.

If you replace r/theredpill with r/feminism in your comment things get really fun. You shouldn't merge 2 fundamentally different ideologys together like that. Infact I would argue men's rights has a closer connection to feminism than TRP.

Feminism aims to destroy harmful gender roles. Men's rights aims to destroy harmful gender roles. Redpill aims to strengthen the masculine gender role. The Choice is easy. If feminism wasn't riddled with crazies and morons I think the 2 would be far closer.

I've considered myself an MRA for the past 2 years. But the bitterness and absolute distaste and discrimination of women is this sub is getting a little much. 'FEMALE judge hands down bad sentence' 'FEMALE does shitty thing.' These articles are testimate to a large sentiment within the MRA that internalised sexism isn't a thing and sexism can only come from the opposite gender. It's society as a whole that needs to change. Not women, not feminism. But men and women equally. Growing up boys AND g…

My post wasn't so much to discuss these issues or even find out what they are. But to gauge the hardline MRAs think of women's issues. Seems they don't think much of them at all. I have a wife I speak to her. I see discrimination against her even when she doesn't. I'm very unhappy with the Upvoted comments(not yours). They make me feel sick. These people really do resent women. I'm out. For good.

I agree from what I understand about dating websites is that men send out hundreds of messages to women saying the exact same thing. Casting a wide net etc. negating men that message 1 or 2. The webmaster must see the problem in this and have created a environment to get around that. Product of the online scene I think.

Maybe because women were still seen as property. Also the female form is seen as sacred or a gift in many cultures at the time whereas a mans body is a tool. You couldn't attain that gift without going through the due process.
/r/MensRights30/12/13 01:31 PM

Of course, but women at the time were not even in competition with men. This seems more of a symptom/clear indicator of a wider problem rather than an issue on its own.

Hmmm. I was reading the oxford online definition and it seems the origin of gender came from the differentiation of feminine and masculine and has always been distinct from sex.
/r/MensRights11/12/13 12:27 PM

Sex and gender are different things. When talking about gender in a academic context you are talking about socialisation. It isn't a feminist construct, it is very well documented in sociology and sociolisation of children. This is the nature vs nurture argument. I'm not sure if you are saying that gender and sex are the same thing but they definately are not.
/r/MensRights11/12/13 03:01 AM
0

As an MRM that believes gender is a social construct, I don't see how your example is considered gender. Seems those monkeys are hardwired to care for their young. I would consider this a biological difference between the sexes not a difference in gender. Of course in humans the social construct of women of caring for children is based on the same biological hardwiring but doesn't mean that gender is biological. This is simply a difference in biology not gender.
/r/MensRights11/12/13 02:54 AM

This is not a bad thing. I'm guessing your only looking for 1 person that is egalitarian right? This way you don't have to rely on the sites filters and matching functions. You are essentially self filtering the crazy.

I don't really feel men's rights is the polar opposite of feminism. Also the right side of politics in my nation is to the left of the American Democratic Party. /r/MensRights07/12/13 06:26 AM

It may not be far from the truth, foolish theory of patriarcy asside. Socialisation of children and the norms we encourage them towards could potentially account for these differences. For instance imagine a study that tested the brain chemistry of the coordination of football players compared to the general public. Imagine if the finding were that footballers had far better brains for coordination. Would it be appropriate to conclude that these people were born with these brains? Of course not.

Feminism isn't my ideology so I'm not going to defend it, but I do know what it is. As I said before feminism isn't trying to fix men's issues because they don't see them as the oppressed class. Under thier ideology they have absolutely no reason too. why dont feminists tell women they need to stop allowing men to be benevolently sexist Feminism isn't some big mother ship of universal decision making that beams down orders to its minions. It doesn't work that way. You seem to think that feminism…
/r/MensRights25/11/13 02:15 PM

Under patriarcy women are the oppressed. Feminists believe that men paying on dates is just some blow back from the bigger problem of women being treated as helpless and making less money etc. feminist don't focus on it because they believe it can be solved through making women equal to men. It's really frustrating when I see people arguing against an ideology they don't understand. Also it should go within saying that feminism definately doesn't support men paying for dinner on dates. American right?
/r/MensRights22/11/13 03:07 PM
2

What. The. Fuck. Did I just read? I'm not a 'lefty', you know nothing of my political standing. Feminism didn't create attitudes that men are pedophiles. That is insane. How is disassembling gender roles anti male? Do you even know what sociology is?! Also. You couldn't see shit coming.
/r/MensRights22/11/13 02:35 PM
2

I believe that gender roles are a scale rather than a binary of damaging and non damaging. As such all gender norms are damaging to some extent, however most are so minuet it's not even worth commenting on. My crying example is definately a gender role. Socially Acceptable for one gender and not the other is litterally the definition of a gender role .
/r/MensRights22/11/13 02:07 PM
3

Seems I'm perhaps a little more egalitarian than others here. I had no idea that MRAs were only into "legal stuff", you don't believe men being treated like pedophiles at the park is a MR issue? Also is the manifesto you are referencing come in a downlaodable PDF? I find Your refusal to participate in healthy discussion about men's expectations in society a little troubling to say the leased.
/r/MensRights22/11/13 02:01 PM
5

So society has gender roles. The norms that are often assigned to our sex. Some of these norms are damaging on an individual level. For instance if you as a male feel the need to cry but are held back due to social stigma in a situation where it would be appropriate for a woman to cry, this would be considered damaging to you. From what I have seen of TRP they seem content with current gender norms. Both feminists and MRAs seek to disassemble these norms, however difference being that feminists …
/r/MensRights22/11/13 12:57 PM
6

No? Society 'has' the harmful gender roles, some of the attitudes I've seen in TRP uphold them. This isn't egalitarian.
/r/MensRights22/11/13 12:44 PM
13

As MRAs we need to call out groups that uphold harmful gender roles even if they claim to be for men's rights.
/r/MensRights22/11/13 08:17 AM
8

Fucking this. Seriously coming out of the woodwork. If you uphold damaging gender roles, you are not a MRA, egalitarian or a feminist. It's that simple.
/r/MensRights22/11/13 08:15 AM
4

While I don't like quote mining you are correct. We expect feminism to call out its shitty Radfem branches but we refuse to do the same?
/r/MensRights22/11/13 08:12 AM

Exactly. I feel 'at the core' feminism wishes to break down harmful gender roles where as redpillers focus is to uphold those norms.
/r/MensRights21/11/13 07:30 PM
7

Definitely. I feel like most people that call themselves feminists are humanists and I beat that RadFems make them skrew up their face.
/r/MensRights21/11/13 01:35 PM

Exactly. The frustrating part is that they call themselves MRAs.
/r/MensRights21/11/13 01:17 PM

I would agree but sexism and racism in regards to nature/nurture are too similar. It's rare to have a sexist based on the nature argument that is also not a racist. They go hand in hand. Usually something like... Women have been preparing food for the last 10,000 years so they are naturally better at it so it's ok get my little girl that loves blocks a play oven. Interesting. Would you lightly influence your children into their sex assigned gender roles? Eg give your boys blocks girls doles? And what are your thoughts on classism vs individualism?
/r/MensRights15/11/13 01:35 AM

Bravo. I was baiting. It is a fine line to walk between biological differences of race and actual racism. But I think you nailed it. I was a little skeptical until you hit the point on classism vs individualism nicely.
/r/MensRights15/11/13 01:25 AM
1

Explain. Sure, your post basically said that biology has merit in creating social norms, it does. For instance it makes sense for a mother to stay home after a birth if a nuclear family wish to Breast feed. But I said clear social norms. An extreme would be how the colour pink is attributed to women. You would have a rough time proving biological reasoning for this. Not to say that this is a red pill argument but you get my point. As for nature and nurture to be disregarded as non scientific we …

attribute the emergence of these roles to clear biological differences So do I. What else could you attribute their beginnings to? Does it mean that these biological norms are then considered morally/ethically good? Definately not. With your view of nature and nurture I would be interested in your view of the biological differences in race and how that should influence our society.

Hmmm ok. "no longer belongs to you" was a poor phrase on kingle's behalf but copyright law wasn't the best way of addressing it.
/r/MensRights15/11/13 12:03 AM

Not the case. This is copyright law and has no bearing on major indictable offences. I can take a picture of myself at 14 have it on my computer turn 18 and be charged with possession of CP. Unlikely to be prosecuted of course but it's the law. Your confusing property that is considered legal compared to property that is considered not. You have on 'rights' over illegal content.

Copy pasted from my pervious comment. Once the images enters The RAM you are in possession. If the data is written over and you are using a SSD you are still in possession. As soon as the data is sent to machine you do not own you have distributed. The girls and boys are guilty of the same offences. Also the state of mind of anyone that is not the person charged is irrelevant. The only intent needed to be proved is the mens rea, that the charged intended to do what they did. I understand your point, but I covered that clause in my statement by saying 'clear social norms'. A little sneaky of me, I know. But your comment does bring up the age old question of nature vs nurture. Years ago I did 6 months of sociology specifically the socialisation of children. We were shown a social experiment that took an unrelated physical trait of a person and treated them different based on this trait. The results were astonishing. There are 2 very different movements within the MRA, what I call redpillers who uphold gender roles and attribute clear social norms to biological differences. And groups like us (although recently I have started to doubt this as I have been down voted for pointing out sexism of top commenters) who seek to remove harmful gender roles. Don't be offended when someone say a MRAs are sexist, some wearing this name badge definitely are, it's upto us to identify them and call them out. It's not the jo…

It blows my mind that a MRA can scream sexism at an event that hasn't taken place yet. You didn't even need this story to be angry, you have made up your mind well before that man was even killed.

And displaying this concept it is best to use one case of a man being murdered? Statistics. Statistics. Statistics. Single incidents don't get you very far. Murder isn't even close to representative to what median domestic violence is.

Did I say that? Did I say that murdering your partner isn't a DV issue? No. I said that one case of murdering your partner is not nessarily a equality issue. Keep your own words in your own mouth.

What? My ilk? I'm an MRA. Violence against women is a serious issue. But I don't consider a single story of a man killing a woman a equality issue. Or in this case a single woman killing a man. Statistics of gendered murder could be an issue, courts being blatantly sexist could be an issue, jury's personal sexism being evident in court could be an issue, statics on DV could be an issue. But a single event at the top of the men's rights board doesn't belong. It's like we are trying to tell people…

People like me? You don't know anything about me. I agree with your comment aside from your statements about what you think I believe etc. If a person is falsely accused the police should definately take appropriate action in investigating. Yes a post trial action would be much more appropriate than a restraining order. Also in my state a restraining order isn't considered a criminal matter. No making a false police report does not warrant a restraining order.
/r/MensRights12/11/13 03:50 AM

I understand your frustration but that wouldn't be appropriate. Unless the false accuser was abusive towards the accused. Restraining orders are used to keep two people seperate. If convicted perhaps a probation condition not to contact directly of indirectly would be more appropriate.

I can understand the police point of view however. If the statement has been made sometimes external factors can prevent some courses of justice. What I've found is within DV, directly after an incident the victim wants to press charges and get out of the situation. But a few days later you find them back living together. Very frustrating. My state has recently made a law where a police officer can request a restraining order against a perpetrator. If victim or perperator violate the order they …

I can't even see how they can be confused. The 2 lots of MRAs have almost completely conflicting ideologies. The only similarity they share is the name. Can people in this situation go to the media do interview and such to shoe the public that you intend to deny the charges? Give your version o events etc? But suicide in men and women is almost completely different. Infact its men's attitude towards suicide that makes it so deadly towards men. targeting macalinity in suicide would almost be waisted on women because women's suicide almost never has those traits. For example should a course targeting the ways men kill themselves be given in both a men's and women's prison? Of course not. You would rework the program to better suit the demographic it's being applied to.

Work place death is genderless? Suicide? Forced prostitution in Europe? That we shouldn't take a gendered approach to fixing these? That the one size will fix all? Feminism alone has shown us that doesn't work.

This is terribly worded title. Shouldn't everyone be against marrying off children? Child marriages are not good no matter the sex of the child. Edit: Child marriage IS a gendered problem and feminists should definitely be passionate about it. I think most feminists would definitely not approve of this whatso ever. I was sexually assaulted by a stranger in a public place before I had even had my first kiss. I didn't realise I was assaulted until I started reading some of the articles here, it had always stuck in my mind but never really understood the sexual nature of the offence. We aren't talking about anything major here but if our genders had been reversed they probably would ha been thrown out of the venue. I 'fucking Upvoted' thekadar because they pointed out that feminism has no issue with men being…

That kinda makes me feel a bit sick... Though I find it poetic when the only men's shelter in the US runs out of money and the owner kills himself.

Why does it need to be a closed preceding? Why can't the names just be suppressed in the media, anyone can attend the court but splashing the name across the front page would be illegal. We have a similar law in Australia for minors. Basically everything about the case that doesn't identify the minor can be published.

How is his situation not a MR issue? "Not wiggling out of child support" He's living out of a fucking car. ALL of this stems from the sexist idea that men are expected to provide for the family unit. How can a guy with absolutely nothing pay $400+ a month? He cannot, yet the expectation, Your expectation is that he still should. The sexism comes from organisations and institutions that give greater safety nets to women for the fact that they are women. This relates to this story in the way that …

Well... Seems someone needs to work on their web design. Also don't send people to forums off site... Use phpbb3 forums. Iframe them if you have too.

I think it's also a good opportunity to say that we recognise and empathise with the negative issues faced by women! :)

Yes it can. Your discrediting all forms of non physical evidence. It's not the consent of the alleged victim that needs to be proved but whether the alleged perpetrator was under the impression that consent had not been given and continued on for sex anyway.

Due process should reveal this with or without the alleged victims testimonie. But prosicuting would send a message that you don't call rape unless you are raped.
