There are tons of legitimate issues women have. Absolutely. Stereotyping and discrimination still exist.

No one here denies women have issues. Women do have issues. Big issues.

We're just saying that:

Men have issues too
Society cares about women's issues but not about men's issues
This lack of care for men's issues is bad (and obviously gender-traditional since 'protect women' is part of the traditional gender system)
Most people here would also argue that in today's Western world, most of the truly heinous problems faced by women have been addressed or are being addressed... the most horriffic violation of women's rights isn't happening in the West. "Blurred Lines" (and whether or not that even constitutes a problem in the first place is debated) is a First World Problem - religiously sanctioned mass clitoridectomy is a far bigger problem, but Third Wave Feminists rarely speak out about it because they might be accused of Islamophobia or racism (one of the best feminist activists against FGM is Ayaan Hirsi Ali... a Classical Liberal feminist, and thus she gets attacked by Third Wavers (digression: AHA is an atheist activist too, but people like Rebecca Watson who add literally nothing to the discussion (and in Becky's case have openly confessed to basically attention-whoring) are considered 'more important' female atheists than AHA!)).

The reason we don't discuss women's issues here is because women's issues are discussed in many places, by many parties, and concern for these issues is entrenched in our social institutions. Men's issues are thus under-discussed, and so we focus on them.

Personally I believe that men and women suffer different types of discrimination/sexism.

So I'd say:

women being presumed to be less able to do science/math/engineering/etc.
women presumed to be less capable as leaders (politically or business-wise)
women presumed to be more interested in parenting than career
women presumed to be less capable/interested in sport or athletics
women being judged more for looks than accomplishments/intelligence
women being expected to be the primary parent

Now, maybe in some cases there is a reason. eg. Women are less capable in sport, on average. What I'm saying is that a woman is judged to be less competent than she actually is.

And some of these cut both ways. Eg. Being assumed to be the primary parent is an advantage in many ways - you get more say in how your child is raised, you'll probably get custody in the event of a divorce, etc. But if you are always the person who is expected to drive the kids around or plan birthday parties or help out with school issues - that is an extra burden. Eg. Being valued based on your looks - that's great if you look great and have little else going for you. But not so great if you are accomplished but physically unattractive.

In the west I'd suspect the biggest issues women face is their oppression by feminism.

Feminists use constant scare tactics to keep women in fear and themselves in money.
They cause massive disharmony between the sexes in relationships and business.
They keep telling women that they need NO self improvement at all and that the world should reform to fit them.

As far as the onion levels of discrimination (personal, public, institutional (practiced) and institutional (legislated)) the only issues of bias against them may be personal and public.

The personal shouldn't be touched (everyone has the right to be as bigoted as they want) and if an individual want's to hate women that's their own business.

The public (popular biases in the zeitgeist) discrimination really only seems to work in their favor. I actually can't think of any real issues women face in the west that are actual issues based on gender and not simply the other edge of the sword of their own choosing. Although lesbians certainly face some challenges due to their not being able to get help for intimate partner violence (see feminism above)

In many foreign countries men and women face all sorts of horrible biases in all the layers of discrimination.

With the massive amount of international governing bodies that are already on the case combined with huge underwriting from multi-national corporations dedicated to women's issues, I could honestly give a shit.

There is no doubt that in some countries women face steep discrimination. But this is not the time nor the place to discuss them.
