Why are you waiting for people to invite you, and not being the one to send out invites for your own inevitably fun and interesting plans?

Hm, I always think the odds are against me when there's a lot of people around, like in a bar or party. Consequently I've usually done better in situations where there are less people and more personal interaction. Interesting way took look at things; when it's just you and a girl, the odds are against you...

It's more that I wish I hadn't stuck around as she got more and more drunk, that I left earlier and not had to deal with what happened. I had some gut feelings to eject but I thought to stay a little longer. Could've left on a higher note than I did. Could've, would've, should've. I learned quite a lot through this experience and hopefully won't be making the same mistakes again.

I'm nowhere near AZ. I suppose girls like the one I encountered last night are not all that uncommon. If I was still a young college student I probably would have done some stupid things, now that I'm more mature and got more going on in life it's good not to deal with those kinds of people.

Maybe I was a bit outcome dependent, given that this situation was the first time in quite a while that any of this material would have been relevant for me. That said, I'm more annoyed with myself for getting into that situation in the first place, rather than what actually happened. Maybe she wasn't blackout drunk, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was. I honestly am not sure. But in any case, perhaps my attempts to escalate fell short of her expectations or perhaps was too much, too soon. Ba…

I'll find out what happened with my friend soon enough. After what happened I really don't think I'm interested in asking her on a date.

Dance classes are great for improving yourself, having fun and meeting new people. I started with salsa dancing and have done that more than swing dancing, but their respective communities are totally different. I must say that swing dancing feels far more welcoming and open at times.

Not near future, that's for certain. As for someone else's kids...well, she'd have to be really smoking or fun loving for me to make a compromise like that. I don't think I'll seriously consider kids until I'm at least 30, both because I don't think in my current situation I could support them and give them the life they deserve, and I don't feel I've grown enough as a person to pass on my knowledge quite yet.

True, but I like cougars and older girls in general so I guess that doesn't apply to me? I'm 25- and would love to get with a white girl (or any girl) 35+, but maybe I'm just weird like that. Granted, I draw the line well short of being old enough to be my mom.

Asian male here who has had success mostly with white girls, and for many years preferred white girls over any other ethnicity (now not so much, but subconsciously I think I still prefer them) A lot of people have already summed up the major points, so I'll just say this: yeah, it's not easier for us due to stereotypes/cultural differences/all that bs, but don't go putting girls on the pedestal just because of that. Life isn't easy for most of the human population in some way, shape or form and …

Sorry to hear that. I've tried taking girls dancing too with varying degrees of success and failure. I've been ditched, ignored, and flaked out on so I've learned never to go all in on a girl when it comes to something as casual as dancing. And yeah, as some people have said don't bother dealing with her anymore; I can forgive but I just don't forget things like this, and you shouldn't either.

Yeah, I'm a non-Japanese Asian who speaks semi-decent Japanese at best so I guess I'm bottom of the totem pole :/ I've considered teaching through JET if I have no job and no schooling after graduating, but don't think I'd want to make a career of it since that's got little to do with engineering. I've always considered joining a translation/fan-sub group for anime/manga/drama/etc. Maybe now I actually will since it's usually vocab I'm the weakest at.

What kind of jobs did you work in Japan, and how did you go about landing those jobs and necessary visa/other legal documentation? (another American here) Do you think Japanese girls prefer white guys over any other gaijin (foreigner for those who don't speak Japanese)? Or does any gaijin pale to the pureblood Japanese guy? What is your favorite method for studying the Japanese language (listening/speaking/reading/etc.)? What about Kanji? Thanks!

Yeah, it's usually not worth it to put girls on a pedestal, especially if they're one nationality or another. There's definitely a high and a rush to gaming a girl that may seem like "the forbidden fruit"; in this case getting with a white girl. But millions and millions of guys game white girls without giving it a second thought, hell sometimes Asian girls are that "forbidden fruit" to others. So when you change your mindset to a different perspective you'll be able to game with a more clear he…

When you have a long FR like this, a TL;DR at the top or bottom really helps your cause when you want more people to read through your FR. That being said, as an Asian who has so far only f-closed "white chicks", I think it may be better for your inner game to look past the nationalities and ethnicities and just treat a girl as a girl, or an HB10 as an HB10, or whatever.

Never had to deal with this personally, but some comebacks I'm thinking of should I ever have to use them: "Zero, we weren't sleeping." "Stopped counting after breaking triple digits" ...just something absurd just to lighten the mood, but of course your response would probably vary on if you knew the girl and her personality. Maybe she just wants to make sure you're clean?

thanks for all the comments guys. I gotta admit, there were times where I wasn't really sure when or if I'd ever get to write something like this. It wasn't easy, and I made plenty of stupid mistakes along the way, but that's where we separate the men from the boys, as it were.

I can laugh/shrug off girls being a bitch for the most part. It's a little hard to do that with people like sociopaths who aren't necessarily female but yet a lot of mutual friends still hang out with said sociopaths.

Remember that everybody is a pickup artists friend. 95% of the time I'd agree with you, and where I'm at in school this is what I do 99% of the time. But I really wonder, what do you do when the other person is openly antagonistic/manipulative/annoying/really fucked up in the head with no conscious effort to better themselves? Serious question since my approach of telling them off and trying to shut them out of my lives by any means necessary may be what some people consider "cold".

never knew how to dance until I took salsa last summer now I've done salsa (plus merengue, bachata, and rueda), east coast swing dancing and lindy hop, and cha cha, and samba. I'd like to learn tango and the waltz someday, and maybe charleston as well, and I don't see myself stopping at all. I just wish I did this years earlier, then I'd be so much better than I am now.

this isn't club dancing, but have you ever taken any dance classes (salsa, swing, ballroom, etc)? I find that, having taken some dance classes that dancing to what they play at bars here (mostly hip hop/top40) is a lot easier since I have confidence that, regardless of club dancing I know how to actually dance. ...then again I refuse to call grinding "dancing"

Hm... How about going to somewhere like Shinjuku or Akihabara and going for cosplayers? Or female otaku? ...Or have you already done that? better yet, how about pickup while cosplaying in a place where cosplaying is not seen as normal?

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. nicely done sir! I'm jealous in that I've never done that in such a "taboo" place. You probably lived a lot of guys dreams right there. I can't believe I've never heard of Trojan 2go's before. The concept is so simple, yet so ingenious that I'm surprised it hadn't been around for longer. In any case, are they protected from drying out if you put them in your wallet? I always heard that putting normal condom packs in a wallet will dry them out, hence I usually just put them in my pocket but I can…

Happens to the best of us. I curse myself every time I leave anything at another place. And I can't count how many times friends have bailed on me. Going solo takes some serious balls so take failure with pride and prepare yourself to do it again.

The tl;dr is quite lolworthy. I'm quite jealous that you're an exchange student in Spain, as I've never been to Europe. I also wish when I studied abroad I had a clue about seduction.

I thought about mentioning her name in the text but the thought that this number is just flat out wrong got the better of me I suppose.

I guess it's possible the connection wasn't there, but I'd argue most of the connection was through dancing than through talking (maybe not enough verbal communication; we talked for maybe half an hour at most, then danced for anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours). I won't worry about it really, since I can't even confirm that this was really her number at all.
/r/seduction10/04/11 02:59 AM

At this point I'd figured on the name, but didn't think of the inside joke explicitly. Oh well, at least I can say I tried using that initial text, maybe it'll be more appropriate for another girl.

hm interesting...I usually never try anything vocal on the dance floor simply because it's way too damn loud to hear anything. I'm just used to letting my body and facial expressions do the talking.

One time i was at a frat party, and some girl whom I know I had conversed with before asked me what her name was...I had too much alcohol in me to remember so I just walked away...oops. Another time when I was younger I made the all too fatal mistake of asking a girl what her name was again. I went out just the other night, and aside from keeping my alcohol consumption to a minimum (just a few beers) I came up with cheesy mnemonics for remembering people's names. Like that one recent FedEx comme…

I've been trying to learn Zen meditation for a while now. The hardest part is probably just committing time every day to do so. Having 15-20 min to clear and focus your mind though does wonders.

I've taken a pragmatic approach to this: The one sure thing I'd want in a girl is my penis. ...but a really nice ass doesn't hurt. I could totally overlook small tits if she had a nice ass. ...okay I'm done now.

Take an acting class if there's one available near you. The goal here is to be able to control your emotions and put your mind into the brain of an entirely different character. Good practice for hacking your mind into the right mindset for picking up girls, or really just being successful in life. edit: some other random things I thought of that have in some way helped me get with girls with varying degrees of success learn a foreign language that's considered "sexy" with your target group of f…

people have already said it, but I'll say it again to drive the point home: Dance classes I started with Salsa, and have also done Swing Dancing and a bit of Cha Cha. I'd love to learn more ballroom dances but I've learned it's best for me to take one type of dance class at at a time. They'll boost your confidence, give you better control of your body motions, broaden your social network, you'll stick out from the everyday guy who can't dance...the benefits go on. Maybe it's just me but I refuse…

This is one reason why I don't usually FB girls I'm actively pursuing or would like to pursue in the future (then again that does encompass a fair amount of girls that I know). Saved me some major drama and humiliation once when a friend of mine (who FB's probably everyone he meets) tried to go after this one girl and it ended in Lamebook worthy fashion (too bad I didn't screen cap/reddit it).

I'd mostly agree with you, but a while ago one girl, whom I was told by friends had a crush on me, one day went from being happy to see me to being damn cold and almost ignoring me a few weeks later, after I came home from college. We had hung out and partied together when she and some other friends visited me at college, so you think a simple "hi" wouldn't be too much to expect. It wasn't just being shy, nervous or quiet; it seemed like my presence was an "off switch" for her personality. Event…

she could have drunk MMA boyfriends, or boyfriends with guns/knives/etc., or be carrying weapons/self defense mechanisms herself whether or not you say "I want your ass" or "Hi"...so there isn't too much utility in being that cautious might as well stay home unless you're willing to take risks, I've learned that the hard way. in all fairness though, having an exit strategy that includes knowing sightlines and exits in the bar isn't a bad idea

I haven't used the "I have a goldfish" response myself but it seems to be around the internet enough that maybe a typical college girl already heard it? Depending on the situation, I'd want to use this: "Cool. He can cook breakfast for us."

Hm, interesting and I'll admit I don't think I've thought of that before. I guess my excuse would be that a long time ago, my only concern was mostly just getting with girls, wasn't interested in relations at the time. That didn't end well so I guess I tried the opposite, but it turns out that was wrong as well. Maybe I just had bad luck with prudes back then, but I'll definitely take your words into account from here on and try to achieve some sort of balance. And yeah, I can see what you mean …
