I think this is possible if the girl has an avoidant attachment

You’d find it as fun field report - that when you genuinely don’t want a relationship with the guy that is when they treat you best.

The only time my dad backed down from an argument he was clearly in the wrong in was when I was paying all his bills.

Yea. I know that now. At that time I was so focused on saving a relationship with my then fiancé

You know those arguments where he claims to be so busy that you cannot understand his schedule ? So he accidentally left his phone in my car. I plotted the times/dates of text with her versus the days we had arguments. So now I had proof that when he was having a fight with me he was making date nights with someone else. You probably don’t need to do something as asinine since it took me 1 week of no sleep to do it but it helped me move on real quick knowing that a) my gut wasn’t wrong I was bei…

I took up embroidery because I was forced to sit for a webinar that requires your camera on for 36 hours. So I finished a pillow case after that. Reading, shifted from hard copies to ebooks now.

Yes. The girl best friend who I shouldn’t worry about flaunted the flowers he got from my ex two months after our relationship ended. Now she’s like totally mum after a year of dating.

The female best friends are still delusional that the ex gf just didn’t understand the guy better. Then they end up filling the role of the next gf.

It’s funny because in all, as in all, self improvement female subs you will see hot women trying to gauge each other’s opinion on how to be better. By the range of our discussions here also I think the general income of the women here is at least at the upper 30% of the general population. Have they seen the female posts on the jewelry threads. So those who are hating, could just never. haha.

This pandemic is the longest time I’ve been single and it’s also very eye opening how my life is way easier, and many of my girl friends in relationships suffered. Many complained of their boyfriends or husbands being stagnant as fuck and doesn’t carry the weight at home in terms of chores, bills, bad temper, and ED during sex. Without contributing anything they expected unconditional love like babies to a mother. And these are couples who met in college or grad school and graduated from top uni…

It’s like when you want to exercise but you can’t get the motivation to, just go outside and walk. If you have a lot of work but don’t feel like doing it start sitting on the chair in front of your papers and you’d end up doing it.

Emotional Band-aid by Guy Winch It’s coming from the concept if you had a physical gash you would get betadine and band aids on it. Why do we not take the same opportunity to heal and do self care when we get inflicted with emotional wounds.

I had an ex who totally lied about being divorced and I found out when his former gift register for a marriage appeared on google. He also said the classic line “you wouldn’t have given me a chance”. So in the end he just wanted to keep lying so I would be too “in love” to leave him. No wonder he got divorced the first time.

I cook but I have too much on my plate to actually do it so people always assumed I don’t. It’s really a good way to see if the guy even offers to cook for you or at least not foist the household chores on you because they know you aren’t the cooking type.

So this starts with a female redditor asking for advise if she was in the wrong and bf was in the right for not sticking to a strict keto diet plan when the bf travelled to take care of parents who have Covid. I just comment on what I would have left on their post privately and ask them to come here and read. I usually get seenzoned. A few would say thank you. Two in the past two years said this was too feminist. 🤣 What I’m saying not all people can be saved or see your point of view but I’d like to think that the more that FDS got traction the more the women spoke up and it’s making its way in more popular subs or TikTok’s that actually help other women from being groomed.

I heard a podcast last night which I will paraphrase “When you break your leg, you dont go around walking with a limp after it has healed. Not putting the proper weight on it is the surest way to get injured again” What I’m meaning to say is learn how to not break your leg next time but don’t let the resentment make you act like it’s still hurting.

I’d like to pose an alternative POV here. In asia it’s not so much about the engagement ring, it’s more of the wedding being the cost covered by the groom / his family. So there might be no engagement ring per se but there are other significant purchases towards making the engagement a firm commitment within a short time table (Getting married Within a year of the proposal) like the guy putting down payment for the wedding celebration + house. Those things I don’t see in western dating. It’s lik…

They brought it upon themselves when they discourage other males to provide them emotional support - they level them as gay. Contrast to middle eastern culture, like Syria, where guys can eat out together, hug, spend time over brunch together there’s no such complaint. It’s the western men or westernized ones who brought it upon themselves.

If you guys were having sex without having the intention of keeping a baby why was there no protection involved. It’s definitely a red flag as condom use is very much his responsibility as well and if you chose to keep the baby, regardless of what you guys talked about before he should have monitored that on his end as well. If there are consequences then it should be suffered by both parties.

1 thought I had no hobbies. It’s just that I had wasted so much time in these consuming relationships that there’s no other available time left for me after work. When I decided to be single, I got into a masters program, had a great bump in position at work and I’ve finished a lot of books / movies / music and activities that actually interests me, not being forced to go to all the starwars things that he enjoyed or listening to some obscure artist that no one really cared about outside their n…

I had a pick me friend who always advocated to give my low value ex a chance everytime I wanted to call it quits. Turns out the very secretive bf she has is married and promised her that he will leave his wife for her, for five years and counting. She basically wasted her 30s with this guy. Her pick me ways eventually drove us apart because when I finally dumped my ex she couldn’t understand why I had no mental headspace to listen to her rant about her life being treated as a mistress.

They admit doing this on other subs so they can date as many women at the lowest cost possible. So basically if you agree to a coffee date, you enable the plate spinning behavior. If he was really into you, the cash spent on a full dinner would be an ‘investment’ This is why online dating with coffee date is a great indicator of low value interest - it’s a very cheap way for men to get a woman’s time and attention.

Silver will tarnish. And moissanites I mean yes they are pretty and economical, but in an engagement ring not as one of your other jewelry sets, one has to be honest with themselves - it’s settling.

Exactly. That’s why vetting is important. This man is basically auditioning to be your partner for the rest of your life. A role longer than a normal job.

All it goes to show is that they don’t value the women they intend to date. Again I compare it to how one treats their boss. If they wouldn t try it on their boss, how the fuck is it acceptable to try to a potential date. It just shows one thing - no respect.

Olivia Rodrigo’s lyrics is so spot on as to why some date women way younger than them - the moves and lines they used on women their age will not work anymore unless they go for someone who hasn’t heard that before.

The argument I encountered yesterday was oh hey it’s women siding with women ! And seriously, what is wrong with that? It’s exactly what they wanted to get advice on about right ? Be cause they couldn’t understand their spouse so another female explains it. But since it doesn’t fit into a pick me narrative to validate their ego and further devalue their spouse they are so angry and will down vote to oblivion

Agree with you here. I find that most women who had the successful marriages 30+ years in, have at one point drew the line that if they don’t get prioritized by their man they are going to throw the man out. As in packed bags by the door rather than accept the disrespect ( fight arising from a mother in law situation or a girl best friend). Those men with wisdom knew what to do. If the man stayed, he is for keeps.

Gottman’s love languages should be read as how you want to be treated, not just as a way you express your love. In this context you like showering them with gifts because in a way that’s how you wanted to feel the love that you’re giving out. When you’re experiencing the need to keep him buying stuff, catch yourself and ask yourself, what have you really been wishing to get for yourself but think it’s too expensive or something you wish somebody will gift to you and then give yourself that.

I disagree with this because the same logic is going to be applied with rewarding a person for sex for good behavior etc. Come as you are. Your normal state is how he will see you for 80% of the relationship. So if you’re a girl who is typically the takes 2 hours type to do everything or the thirty minutes is all I need to get there, be you. Otherwise it will just be a lie you can’t maintain later on. The only reason they can focus on their career is because they had a woman to make them presentable. I succeeded in my career (VP by 30) not because I had a man. I had a parent who took over everything a wife would have done for a man. And that parent was my mom.

Funny enough I was talking about this in Twitter Spaces and all I encountered were pick me’s highlighting why it’s not a bad thing. One even discussed that she was BFF with a guy she rejected to date before and how supportive he is of her that he comes even at 11 pm when she feels like crying and the wife of the guy is totally okay with it and friends. And I must have no friends for not being okay with this. Imagine how painful this is for the wife.

Even amongst fellow female lawyers which I expected to be more calculating and rational, the pick me vibes is real. At 30s being the only female in a group of males is still the crown for some; or being the girl best friend of a married man expecting him to prioritize her because “that’s what real friends do” never mind that she had a history of turning him down before and the wife of that guy is seemingly “okay” with this. It’s getting harder to find friends when you try to keep your standards …

The irony of all this.. pick me’s are the reason why there are so many red pill guys. I had the unfortunate time to get into an argument with a scrote in AITA forums and I waded into the threads he goes to - the general theme is the same. The red pill transformation journey started because they realized when they did less and started being emotionally abusive for the women, they get treated better by the same women. How do women stop the abuse? Stop rewarding bad behavior.

Consider the handbook is your Bible. You cannot defend it if you do not gain mastery over it. You read something once, what you remember is what you agree with. You read something two times then you see something you missed out on the first. You read something a few times more then you can quote it easily from memory because then it resonates.

Coffee dates are low value triggers because it is very low investment on the males. Secondly since males love business terms, you misunderstand how valuable female attention is to them. By allowing yourself to be placed on a coffee date value, you’re lowering the minimum price for your availability.

I’ve been the dead horse’s faithful cheerleader. I wouldn’t listen despite 3 people clearly telling me to dump him. It took 7 more months of crying over the circumstances I was placed in before I wisened up. The advise didn’t work. What worked was reading through the handbook or basically seeing the stories of how the other women were also abused / taken advantaged of to recognize that what has been happening was not a matter than can be justified by logical jumps.

So that translates to nice hotel dinners on occasions. Having take outs and cake just because we feel like it. I personally think this is a great development. All it shows us is even at the later stage in life, we know who are the real dependents in a relationship and it’s not the women. It’s the men who are leeching off and who will tie you down to themselves to be caregivers when they have nothing to offer these women that these women already have in exchange.

Men in my field claim they are so busy and tired for everything else but they place so much time on vices. We females work at the same or if not more (never less) hours and we still have time for relationships and social life. Exactly! His own female cousin validates it by saying there is nothing wrong, the girls I was jealous of were just friends and I should just trust my ex more! Gah it was literally so painful to take in that everytime I was on my period where hormones make you sensitive I felt so angry to cry about it. You don’t know how happy and I am at peace now to be single. I’m not crying every month.

My ex was friends with 2 long term ex girl friends one cheated on him, other kissed another guy. And that’s okay they are friends now; both also wanted to get back together with him. And two other girl pals who both professed to like him / want to fuck him (said so on Twitter, recorded on video) but that’s okay because he didn’t like them back. And wonders why I was uncomfortable with that. And that I probably had issues with my self esteem. And that I was weird for taking note of those posts on…

We are high up on equality index so it’s not because it’s a male dominated field. We actually have more females in law schools than males now. I think the long work hours is unsustainable. In any company you work as a lawyer for it’s already averaging at 60-80 hours a week. But with law firms it’s 100-120. The toll on your sanity and wish for a better work life balance / looking for time to date and settle down are primary concerns

As lawyer. It’s not that cracked up to be. Graduated in the top law school of my country. Half of my female peers left the law firms and pursued alternative careers 5 years onward. At any case thank you for this post. Informative and pretty much confirmed what I have learned and documented when I was cheated on myself. People act in patterns so any deviation, actually is a sign of coming in. From frequency in texting another female leading to less communication with you, to less energy in genera…

I think you’re a carved out exception But seriously consider adoption. Having never dated a single dad and given one a chance, you’re never going to be a priority - their finances are tied to the ex and the child, his work, his me time that he has finally regained, his chores, and then you. And my dad gave me this tip once about dating divorced men - don’t. Men only leave when they have a replacement. If women leave, that man is just bad. As a 30 something lady, I found finishing a bachelors, post grad, taking the bar and taking masters again way easier, than dealing with another persons feelings. 1 your efforts are directly reciprocated - sure there’s angst and imposter syndrome but keep at it and you’ll get the diploma vs loving the wrong person and making your life miserable Thus I see dating now as chili peppers. Started reading the Mr Unavailable and the Fallback girl and it helped me immediately - it made me stop this recurring thoughts of what if or where could I have done something differently. I know FDS handbook says shut that shit down, but the mind sometimes has a way of circling back when it doesn’t have answers and now it does. The most enlightening was that it wasn’t exactly I lacked self love, but rather that I am unavailable myself that’s why I feel comfortable to angst over unavailable men.…

I was feeling this “where are all these people”??! So I couldn’t find it And I reviewed my life as to what was my comfort zone, and at that time I realized I liked being in my university as it was my happy place. I wasn’t intending to study again but I always liked taking walks in it, being in that canteen or so. I’m 32, relationship ended this pandemic. I would replay some things in my head post break up as to what went wrong or what not but like we always see, if they want to, they would have, if they wanted to make it work, they would have made it work. So everytime my mind wonders and ruminates I’m telling myself he didn’t want to go for the extra mile for me when things are just peachy - we didn’t even have major problems like illness or death and he can’t be there? Good riddance babe.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/10/20 03:42 AM

First take a breather since you’re clearly upset. In your own self, you already know this lack of reciprocity won’t cut it. Guys or girls know when they’ve found something they want to hold on to and they won’t risk to lose it. When they are waffling, you’re not on the same energy. Do you want to risk more of yourself? Was 8 months not enough? You’re not auditioning to be this guy’s girlfriend; he should be showing up for you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/10/20 03:39 AM

You know this is the quandary I have - the more I leveled up, (have a career, travel 3x a year, law + masters, good paycheck, below 23 BMI) the more rare it is to find men on this level. So it’s not an issue if there’s no one to date, but the quality of what’s out there is bad.

Info request: please confirm - noticed you mention a time difference so you guys are in LDR. It’s rough as a general rule, and tbh maybe the issue is not about you per se, but rather if you have distance and if you OP sleep on the opposite timezone it means, one of you has to sacrifice sleep to talk to each other and it will be unbearable for the person adjusting in the long run. Try to set a time where you can expect each other to come online where both of you are comfy.

I think to some degree they are the same with FDS especially with the focus on vetting to her a HVM and making sure you’re a high value woman. What this sub differs on I think they would like to focus on femininity and using that as a strength to keep the male, which removes the focus on the female as the prize

I just finished watching the entire series (16 episodes) and this kdrama wonderfully illustrates how much damage you can incur by staying married to a low value man. I think we should also outline in this sub what traits do we have that allow us to be gauged as high value. For the longest time, it’s been indoctrinated that guys don’t want someone who appears smarter than them, with more advanced degrees and doesn’t look like magazine pretty, and like it or not that drills our self esteem down such that it sometimes feels like landing a seemingly good man becomes an achievement. I am a chill girl for the most part then I got cheated on and the dating experiences I had right after I treated it with suspicion. With my ex, I finally calmed down on that aspect because a) he took the time to explain relationships and catered to my need for transparency b) I was really busy. As in work six days a week busy I’d sleep on Sunday kind of work and tired. So I literally don’t have time to think about other women orbiting.

If the guys at home pick up the slack that’s a good sign. But if you didn’t make him happy before, he should have just left you, not hold it over your head now? It’s no different from say men who pay for dinner so they are now entitled to sex. You can still walk away.

Gamers who have actually functioning careers yes. Play away. But a big majority of men at least on dating sites now think its a personality trait

Haha it’s okay I was being more polite yesterday when he said that the previous admin was worse than today and I asked how so? You really want me to enumerate? Yes, this admin killed 20k people, brought GDP down with 12M jobless and debt borrowing in three months that isn’t payable until 2049. Then he goes like I don’t like talking about politics

Actually even if you were. I thought my parents were old fashioned in that my dad always saw my mom off home. But I guess that’s what made him HVM even if they married after three months only, and it’s lasted this long

Thank you for your comment and I find this most enlightening - how should women act then to be a guy’s escape? And would this not affect the idea of being equals in a partnership, if you’re the escape? Thank you in advance for the reply. I read the handbook and I’m still at a loss at this area

My ex didn’t like certain topics also so i am quite wary - in that he didn’t mind me talking about my work but if i return the favor and asked him about his, he gets angry.

Go out on dates. Being asked out, shown that you’re wanted is an excellent way to raise your self esteem after such a harsh rejection. It gives a refreshing change of pace when there are people who want to impress you out there

If he wanted you, he’d put in more effort. He is putting you in the back burner. He needs to see you as a priority. You’re not there yet and it’s not your job to make him see that. He has to come around himself, otherwise you’d be competing with everything else in his life and that’s not fun

This has been my moms advice ever since I started earning well! I lamented how hard it is already to date and be married by being tall, dressing like someone who won’t be happy with a hole in the wall eating place(been told this even though I actually eat street food on cheat days lol) She said if you only wanted a boyfriend, they are a dime a dozen, you can literally pick one off the train. But you wouldn’t like to be married to one. So the hunt is to wait for an equal or better in terms of val…

Thing is, men who mention that they don’t like make up, just fall for the “no make up” make up look lol. Parade a woman with a body con suit, nice ass, nice tits, hot girl make up and the guy is all about her, never mind if her life is dumpster fire. That’s why we ended up having coined a term “don’t stick your dick in crazy”; coz even if the men know, they don’t careeeee! Yeah I think you’re wrong and you’re going to be wrong because you won’t see that it’s the men who go for all the looks, not…

I know a girl who took over parental duties and raised her siblings. True she didn’t get to date around till most of them were stable and she was 27 by then, but by the time she did - she was able to successfully navigate against guys looking for casual. True that kids can be considered a baggage but it also presents an opportunity - those who are casual enough about you will not engage, and those who will pursue from the get go already know what they will commit to. Just don’t lose shape or loo…

Women choose based on who will make a good partner long term especially as they mature for child rearing- height (good genes) or finances (ability to provide) Now you compare it to men who don’t look for height or money and who keep choosing all these women who have tight ass clothes and make up but that’s the point. Men don’t choose the taller ones than them. Men get awkward if female earns more (and it’s true really), physically plain janes who are good homemakers and with careers most of the …

I was told many times before, it was never because the woman was too busy, if the guy in question wanted to see her. Men have been known to put off a lot of things, even ghosting their friends in pursuit of a relationship. Know this well in mind when you’re not being seen by the guy.

Sorry I feel this is a bit whiney? Sure it’s a partnership and you want him to cater to your wants as well. But at the end of the day the bills are paid, there’s a full functioning house and food. I suggest take it as a challenge to design something really well and minimalist - something that looks a lot of thought has been put into a little thing. Like do chibi room (like small doll houses on insta https://www.instagram.com/p/B-RPFY_Ham-/?igshid=dfklrf0fs94z ) if you really have to as your own …

There’s no right to precedence of a girl he knew before or after you. You’re the partner, now. Therefore you get priority. That’s why in law you get to be named as next of kin by a committed man. Friends don’t get named that. Is it really crazy to expect an apology from your significant other after a fight? Imagine how precarious and hard it will be one sidedly for you, keeping all other potential suitors at bay because you are committed and your partner is not? I know tonight you wouldn’t be li…

That maybe his thoughts and for him that is correct. Is this an issue about who is being correct or is this a question of compatibility and being comfortable with your partner?

You know men listen not to words but actions. If you say that this boundary is a hard no for you but just nag while he does it anyway he won’t take you seriously. If you say it’s a hard line, that’s an ultimatum already and if that line is crossed be prepared to leave. Otherwise he won’t respect what you say. Next time find a guy you don’t have to dish out ultimatums for, loyalty and fidelity is a given for a good relationship. If it has to be negotiated, then you know you’re in the wrong one.

My bf and I are also in LDR, and in the past I’ve seen girls post on his twitter really suggestive messages and he said it was harmless flirting. When it really bothered me and I showed him those aren’t friendship conversations, and in particular it hurt me because i felt disrespected as an SO with these girls and their lack of boundaries, what he did was listen and observe and finding the nuances I Pointed out, limited their interaction dead on. Mmm so the moment you turn your back you’re going to lose him? Doesn’t sound high quality to me. You’d want a man who even if a hundred naked women paraded in front of him would still say, “I still want shupup and I’ll wait for her to get home”. That is the type of man who knows what he wants and wouldn’t dare do anything to lose what he has. If he is willing to trade you for whatever reason there is, then Is he worth giving your time to?

You know when you’re starting to ask for passwords you hav to really brace yourself because you know at the end of the day you’ll find something there that you wouldn’t like. I think you have to phrase the issue calmly. State firmly that such actions hurt you. That you cannot understand why he would rather talk to someone else, who is not being a friend, but a flirting partner when you have issues. Make him see that those type of conversations are not friendship if it revolves around flirting an…

I used to walk while taking a smoothie for lunch for an hour on date nights so it evens out the calorie intake for the day and what we did was me getting a share of what he orders like two to three bites portion of his steak or whatever and I stick with the smaller food I ordered or the salad I got.

One thing I’ve learned from lurking this subs is that if the answer to getting married isn’t “Hell Yes!” Consider other options. If he is already bailing when your relationship is at its easiest with just the two of you, would you really want a captain that will seesaw his decisions when it’s a more pressing issue like which debt to pay off first, career moves etc. no right? It’s hard to give an ultimatum but you have to give one for yourself You decide whether you want this guy enough that you’…

Hi I personally like Dorothy Perkins style. Some cleavage, show off curves but good enough that HR will not flag you for indecency. It’s fashionable, and it’s stitches doesn’t tear easily and cost wise quite reasonable. H&M and Zara are my go to’s for dresses as well but I’d stick to sales. If you have more budget, I’d go for Kate Spade but their recent bag designs are becoming impractical for me. Another but definitely more conservative is Ann Klein. For Jewelry I’m particularly fond of Kataoka…

As a fellow Filipino, I think that living in is even more frowned upon, and it really disincentives him from marrying you because he totally got you already. If finances were the issue I’d share with you that I’ve just attended an 11 person wedding 3 months ago and it was the most heartfelt ceremony I’ve attended. Morality is the internal code you live by. Immorality is if you started breaking those moral codes, as dictated perhaps by your religion. If you take Catholic faith for example, then it's certainly immoral. If you're from a country that prohibits adultery that act can even be downright criminal. If you're not of that particular faith, or under that particular jurisdiction then it does not necessarily follow. You see even with the religious, there is redemption after an act of contrition. This wh…

The right of a person to privacy in his person, papers, houses and effects is inviolable. That's constitutional, vaguely worded enough to suit the situation here. Plus there's a catch all provision in the civil code about human relations where any person who causes harm, or fails to give anyone his due, acts in violation of morals and public policy shall be liable for damages also.

In a conversation a sales person would be like: Oh hi there, good weather we are having today Eh? I actually finished this at work. Im working at ... I'm a totally cool nice guy.. I live around the area... Maybe we could hang out sometime? See the focus on too much of "I"s to sell oneself. A girl's reaction would be, smile nice meeting ya, without leaving any contact details. If one changes the direction of the conversation to the person he is interested in and builds it from there, it's not abo…

If you were in the shoes of the other person would you like to be with you? Some things you need to check out - some people can pull off the scruffy look, most people don't without looking like a hobo so double check if: 1) you have good hygiene - do you smell? Shower often? Food in your teeth? Mouthwash ? Do your clothes fit you when you dress or do they hang loose or too tight that the buttons look strangled? You don't have to have abs, just look like you're taking good care of yourself will d…
