Did some digging and found 2 articles that talk about differences between men's and women's brains. https://doi.org/10.1038/nn1277 "Gender differences in cortical complexity" Basically they did some imaging and saw increased complexity in the parietal and inferior frontal regions of women's brains, though smaller brain volume. Doesn't tell us much, but if we make a few assumptions/generalizations it shows we may make decisions a little differently (frontal lobe) or have differences in language o…

Fair points. I never meant to imply that there are no biological differences, just that it would be very difficult to determine through imaging since that was the initial question, and that women are capable of complex emotions even if they do so less often. And yea we can try to use evolutionary biology to begin explaining it, I was just saying to be careful since it's easy for any side to be justified and even within very closely related species there can be huge differences in behavior patter…

Im a medical student planning on studying neurology. Females can absolutely be honorable and all that stuff. Plus you can't really see those personality traits on the typical "brain scans" (EEG, CT, or MRI). Those are useful in identifying seizures, strokes, tumors, and other diseases like MS but not for personality. The closest you can get to quantifying personality traits is a PET scan where they measure metabolic activity in each region of the brain, but even that kind of study is still very …

I'm fairly certain if you voluntarily admit yourself to a rehab you can leave at any time unless you threaten to hurt yourself or others. But as everyone else said the only important thing is your motivation, rehab just might make the process easier. Don't put too much weight in the rehab, I've seen tons of patients who try rehab like 5 times with no success. It's not the answer but it helps

I love how they just throw around shaming language but NEVER explain why MGTOW is bad in a logical way.

I just work hard for myself. I want to be able to travel, have a nice house, have time for hobbies, have a few good friends, etc. Don't put your effort toward finding a partner, its not worth it. Either find what makes you happy and work for it, or think of how you can help those around you. If you're not fulfilled or happy now, don't just look for a relationship to act as a band aid in your life

The article doesn't even point out where they get the generalization that "men" are upset by it, and there's a hell of a lot of assumptions in that article. I trust peer reviewed literature with data analysis, not a "study" that's really just a 8th grade level essay on one policy with no thought about other perspectives

If you want to pursue someone, go for it. You are your own man.. We're not gonna stop you and sometimes making mistakes is the best way to learn. We just don't want to see anyone get hurt out there, so try to avoid any legal contracts or baby issues

Theoretically and morally, maybe I should be an MRA to help change society. But I know it's futile and no real change will ever be made, at least within our lifetime, and publicly showing support for mens issues could easily have negative impacts on my friends/family/career. Plus, I have enough goals for my future to keep me busy for a long time

Good post. In my opinion laws are only as fair and meaningful as the judge upholding the law, so I still wouldn't expect much to change culturally except possibly more men becoming afraid of flirting and just going their own way

If you do go STEM, have a clear career goal in mind. Just getting a general bio degree does not open up many doors, you really need a masters or other professional degree for most things these days, or lots of experience working or shadowing your goal career. I know plenty of people that get bio degrees and it took them way too long to find a job, the market is more saturated than you'd expect

There must have been SOME red flags about this guy, yet she clearly ignored those and proceeded to have his baby. Yes, the guy is total shit, but the woman here is just as bad for accepting it and blindly hoping he would change. This is why I don't buy it when feminists say "deadbeat dad's are worse than the single mothers", yea they're both bad for society but this would have been so easy for her to avoid, she can't blame anyone but herself for ignoring those red flags

Yes, but nihilism isn't always a bad thing. Sure, 99% of us won't be remembered a generation after we die, but that's life. Just have fun and enjoy what you can while you are alive, maybe take a few risks along the way. Plus, if you do want to be remembered, marriage certainly isn't going to help you along that journey

Tbh I feel kinda bad for trans kids who want to do sports. A trans girl would be unfair to the other girls, but hormonal treatments would probably affect their body too much so they can't properly compete with the boys either, so now they can't really do anything well

Not sure what you mean specifically, but its good that you're starting to think about it this early. I'd say avoid hookups where significant alcohol or drugs are involved and don't hang out with people that give you bad vibes, its way better to chill alone than end up in deep shit needing to dig your way out while being a student

23 here, I view it as a way to learn from others mistakes and the safest option in today's world. I learned about red pill from my college roommate and gradually explored from there. Have had girlfriends but nothing that puts me at risk. I never mention MGTOW to other people but most guys do have a vague idea that dating is a risk. Most still plan on marriage, but not because it's something they've always dreamed of, just because it's expected

Men literally are demonized more, you can get a sex offender charge for pissing in public if I remember correctly. Also, maybe a hot take here, but I actually don't care about breastfeeding in public. It's just a natural thing your body does, and if anything it helps with parent-child bonding.

Those "quotes" from MGTOWs in the post title are just absurd. Most comments I saw about the article attacked the actual arguments or pointed out inconsistencies, not just angry attacks at the author

I agree that feminists get upset over stupid stuff and it's not "society's" fault, but shouldn't we be telling men to avoid jobs with a high fatality rate, or to get a job if they're homeless? I'm for accountability on all sides

Similar story here. My parent's aren't divorced, but I'm pretty sure there are times my dad wishes he never married her. She is constantly manipulating and gaslighting the whole family, often we'll talk behind her back about how to manage her mood swings and how to get through her tantrums. Even if I do meet a seemingly-wonderful woman, there's still the chance that she can turn into a narcissistic, whiny drain on my life in a few years even if the marriage "works". High risk, low reward

Idj what country you are from, but I know in the US medical school is still tough. Plus the sheeer amount of training a doctor goes through is ridiculously higher than the number of hours a nurse spends training. At least over here there is still respect for doctors to an extent, and med school is still worth it. But your points still remain true at my school as well. The vast majority of people who fail a course are female, and there are so many extra opportunities and support systems for them …

So technically amphetamines can be prescribed for ADHD in children in small doses, as crazy as it sounds (some actual real medical sources like Cochrane and Mayo clinic actually talk about it). BUT there is so much else wrong with this lady - why do you have meth? Why are you posting about it on FB? Why are you discussing your child's medical troubles publicly? Why not see a doctor? Jesus Christ, some people are crazy

I'm a med student so I know more about healthcare careers than chemistry or accounting careers. I'd say it's easier to stay in the same field and work your way up. Plus, you never know if you'll actually like those careers either, at least you know you can tolerate this career and there is room for upward mobility. Obviously the choice is yours, but just be sure if you are going to make a major life/career change that you talk to people in those careers first and see what it's really like. Howev…

My roomate years ago inroduced me to the Red Pill subreddit, at first I was into it but very soon got disillusioned with dating and stumbled across MGTOW (probably on youtube). The stuff always made sense, as if you put words to something I had been feeling subconsciously for years

Guys please look at the details. Yes it says fertility, but the unit is children per woman. This takes into account family decisions to have only one or two children, and is generally associated with more highly developed cultures. This isnt a surprise, nor is it "feminists destroying the world". Interesting data, regardless of the implication

Medical student here, unfortunately this just simply isn't right. First off, it's not the strongest/fastest sperm that reaches, it's just luck. Second, the contents of each sperm have nothing to do with any structural elements that would theoretically determine speed. The sperm cell itself is made by the father and theres a lot of randomness to determine what DNA ends up in each sperm. Feel free to ask if you guys have other questions

Thanks for understanding our perspective. All you can do is let them know the truth about society, just by doing this they will already have a head start and not need to experience it first hand. If you focus on promoting yourself and making smart choices, it doesn’t matter how society has changed, you can make your life how you want it. More specifically, don’t take stupid risks like drunken hookups or risking a child before they’re completely ready for it.

I mean the concept is there, but her use of stats is pretty stupid. It’s not that 80% of students have 100% influence at school, to have 100% influence you’d need to (assuming say 5 teachers per year and 12 years, so 60 unique teachers) .80*60 = roughly .0001% chance (I think, it’s been a while since I needed to do stats, I’m open to changes)

There's a disconnect between the red pill philosophy (idealistic, be a chad) and the actual people who adopt the philosophy (bitter men looking for approval). You're pretty much right once that distinction is made.
/r/ExRedPill04/03/18 03:49 PM

In my experience with that community they accept that women prefer high-status males but, rather than condemn it, they use it as one motivation to improve themselves. I think the incel or NiceGuy community does more of the complaining, while the red pill guys just pretend to be in that top percent.

Sounds like you’ve already started making the best of it. Sure they might be harder to game, but as long as you’re in the top percent of men then you’ll still have them chasing you. Frame is essentially your mindset and expectations. If one person has a stronger frame, the weaker will conform to yours. Ex. If I believe I will bang a girl, that is my frame. If she thinks we are just friends, that is her frame. One has to drop their frame eventually

Dont study more time, study more effectively. I'm premed in college, getting good grades. My strategies: When you're studying, dont have facebook open in one tab and texting at the same time. Just study, then take a short break. Set clear goals. Like, I will read this chapter and do these questions, then take a 10 minute break, etc. Also, flash cards help a lot, if memorization is the problem. Depending on the subject, I could offer more specific help.
