Be thankful you have no kids with her and that the marriage wasn't longer. It's tough road, but you'll be able to make a full break and move on with your life. It will absolutely get better, its just hard for you to see right now cause you are dealing with the shit. My life got so much better after my divorce. I felt like Theon Grayjoy in the marriage and the divorce was like escaping with Sansa, except I also got my dick back.

Get a lawyer! Our advice here will not be sufficient. Divorce court and family law varies widely from state to state. If you care about your kids, which you clearly do, get a lawyer. My lawyer told me to do everything I could to stay in the home because if I left it could be seen as abandonment and hurt my prospects for custody. That applied because there had been no physical violence between us. I'm a little confused as to how her brother and other family members kicked down your bedroom door. …

Get some responsibility in your life. I was lucky enough to have a son who I clearly wasn't gonna abandon and just let him be raised by his mom. Go volunteer places. Get a pet. do things in life that will make you feel needed.

Women typically think about getting divorced well before they actually do. So by the time the divorce happens she's been mentally out of the relationship for much longer. Meanwhile you are still in the shit trying to get through it. It certainly isn't easy, but it will get better. It will help to start dating and focusing on yourself. Get yourself thinking about other things. Things have been way better for me post divorce. Like way better! But It took time before I got to where I am now.

A thousand times better. I was a shell of a man while I was married and I didn't even know. In every way things are better now than they were. It sucks to go through and is hard to break free. But things are so much better once you make it to the other side.

I don't know that it's particularly racist. So much as feeling like they are taking something not reserved for them. Women can be so mean and catty that I imagine there are some that don't feel like they can go for you when the friend group already has your "match" (I've witnessed this with whites and Chinese but not blacks, so my perspective is limited)

Women get divorced in their heads well before they do it in real life. It is likely she has already grieved. Women are also more engineered biologically to move on. Its why they are the ones initiating 70% of divorces.

Yep. Don't file. This was a problem with my ex. All women build the narrative of you being the problematic and abusive one. All her friends started hating me and got their husbands on their side. Its pretty normal behavior for them. This is a minor problem compared to the rest of the narrative she has been constructing.

Yep. I felt that way for a while. She was my best friend and everything had been really great and that I would miss the sex. You feel that way cause you are still in it. Its not easy and it took time to get over that myself. My ex was a blonde with big natural tits. Well they aren't as big anymore and they sag. Every woman I have dated since have been younger and hotter and very willing to please.

I faced only a fraction of what you have and it was incredibly hard. I found a men's support group that was pretty helpful. They understand better what you have been going through, as opposed to friends and family who are still blue pilled regarding cheating women's behavior. This is what I would suggest. It didn't save my relationship cause I was way too late finding it. but I believe it would have and it definitely turned around her desire and sex drive. The year before the divorce was finalized we had a TON of sex and it was the best sex of the marriage.

It sounds to me like you need responsibility in your life. It is truly a game changer. For me I have a son who is dependent on me. Pets fulfill this somewhat as well. Involving yourself in a community (not one online) can do the same. There are group like Big Brothers Big Sisters where you can go spend time mentoring young men who maybe don't have a father figure in their life. Coach a sport. join a sports team. She calls you a narcissist to help create the narrative that you are at fault for the divorce. I think 95% of women divorcing do this. I hear that all the time. You are being pathetic in allowing your wife to have a guy friend she drunk texts and you need to man up. Tell that guy he needs to block your wife's number and if you find out they are communicating he's gonna be regretting it. I love all these. I'm two years post divorce. I would add that your kids worlds have been turned upside down. You are gonna have essentially half the influence you would otherwise. To counter that you need to be CONSISTENT and RELIABLE! Your kids need to know you are there for them, and they will know if you are or not by your actions.

The proof is for your peace of mind only. You’ll never get anything worth while out of your wife. Concentrate on yourself and take care of your business. Best thing to do is serve her and don’t give her any kind of reasoning. Don’t even confront her about it. Pretend like you don’t even know. She knows what she has done. Now you do what you need to.

Here’s a fun phrase to use. “That sounds like something a husband would do.” Or if you wanna be vulgar, when she says the quality she is accustomed to you tell her you are accustomed to sex, and she needs to take care of you as well. My ex just the other day asked me to help her put some gym equipment together. I don’t tell her no, I pretend like I will and then put her off and delay it cause I know it pisses her off more.

The way to stop an affair is to bring it out into the open with everyone. There is excitement in it being clandestine. Once the other guys wife and families know about it it loses its luster.

You think you have a good shot, as a man, at getting primary, if not full custody? You sound deluded. Is your wife physically abusing you, your child, or on drugs? Cause unless she is so bad CPS would take her child away, you aren't getting full or primary unless she wants you to.

Did you fall out of love with your kids too? If the only problem is that you’ve fallen out of love with your wife I think you stick it out for a few years for your kids sake.

Why are women allowed to have physical preferences like 6ft tall, but men are shunned for having them? People can’t change their height but people can control their diet, and if they can’t it speaks to their self control and personality.

I'm not worried about it at all. Never said I was. I wasn't even when I was 18 cause I have things that would have kept me from being drafted. My feelings on it are not that point. It’s pathetic that you have so many downvotes. You are correct, and as men we need to be better at putting our emotions aside and taking responsibility for ourselves regardless of our feelings. All the men who downvoted you are behaving like women.
/r/MensRights06/08/22 04:17 PM

Sounds like you are both abusing each other. My ex was just like this and while I believe her abuse was significant and my abuse minor, her view is that she wasn’t abusive at all while I was terrible. Her feelings clouded her ability to see how bad she was behaving. So anytime she acted out she justified by saying it was in response to my behavior and therefore not her fault. It sucks. To add to your 4th point. Think about how sex toys are viewed when it’s for a man versus a woman. A male sex toy must be used because he can’t get a woman, a woman uses a sex toy because a man can’t pleasure her. (Obviously this is a generalization)

Any avenue you might want to explore is why did she get divorced in the first place? The vast majority of marriages end because the woman decides to. Why did she end her 1st marriage? does she claim he was abusive or a bum? Have you bothered to get his side of the story? That's what I would want to know, cause ten years down the road you are gonna be dealing with the same stuff her first husband was dealing with.

If I conceded something, she would often not care to much and even change her mind about wanting it. Don't let her know how much you value the things you have to split up. You are trying to use reason and logic to understand what she says. She is crafting a story to justify her feelings and ultimately justify her divorce. The things she explains and says don’t matter. To her it is her feelings that matter. Don’t expect closure either. I would also expect that she has found someone else and that is the catalyst for her asking for a divorce. You need to take control of the finances and not give her access to credit cards. You need to talk to her mom and everyone she could send packages to and get them on the same page and as everyone else has said therapy. However even with therapy she is bound to slip up. You need to also check your credit and monitor it regularly. If you can't do all those things than divorce might be your safest financial decision.

To be totally pedantic. The average IQ is 100. If everyone suddenly got smarter or dumber, the average would still be 100, that's just the way IQ is measured.

yep. it looks like abandonment to a judge when you try for 50/50 custody of your kids. My lawyer advised me to stay in the home and that is the advice you will get from others who will comment and post articles about it on here. Unless you have physical evidence of serious abuse, don't leave.

You are making incorrect assumptions about how a lot of those things work. If there are more people buying groceries then one of them is working that other checkout stand checking more people out. people move out to less developed areas. small towns become big towns, big towns become small cities and small cities become big cities, but its not like it happens over night. places grow and expand to accommodate more people. Experts believe the earth can support 3 billion more people in terms of how…

A lot of your responses on here are about your guilt and trying to make amends for what you did. That would make sense if you were both trying to fix the relationship. Let's be clear. THAT IS NOT HAPPENING. She is exacting vengeance. Are you an idiot for fucking around on your wife? absolutely. Don't make it worse by folding over and letting her fuck you over cause you feel bad. so what if you told her you wouldn't get a lawyer and that you agreed to her conditions. She is playing the victim, its pretty common for women to do in divorce regardless or how or why the divorce is happening. This is the reason you unfriend and block them. Don't rent your head space to them when they aren't paying rent.

Regardless of who initiates the divorce or who's fault it is, the women get the shared friends 99% of the time. Women stick together better. They also play the victim. They will turn everything around to make you look bad. Be prepared to lose all shared friends.

This post hit home. I have been divorced for about six months. I have all the evidence of my wife's infidelity and a 4 year old who luckily I have 50/50 custody of. I don't know how things will go or what the future holds but when she starts to lie to my son about why our marriage fell apart I am gonna have the evidence to prove her a liar and a cheater.

You've got a lot to unpack there. I will say the one immediate thing that popped into my head. Don't listen to the feminists telling you to be feminine. Generally speaking don't take advice on how to be a man from a women. What the fuck do they know about it? The best revenge is to be totally indifferent to her, your competition shows you still care about what is going on in herlife and that you want to be better than her. You shouldn't know how she is doing or if she is dating someone or how much money she makes. You are still letting her have influence on your life and she still in a way has control. Cut her out. The issues she has with you are not admissible because of how she found them? This is a relationship, not a fucking court of law. you can't rebuild a relationship if you are doing the building and she is tearing it down. You work on yourself and yourself alone. So they win by getting a reaction and making you angry. How do you think a true man would respond to females making fun of him? He would ignore them and TRULY not care and not get upset. Your later comment mentions how anything you say is excuses. You are right, you don't answer to these women, especially when they are acting the way they are. Confidently ignore and avoid them, but certainly don't answer their questions when they haven't given you any reason to give them the time of day.

A couple things. You probably can change her desire for you. Maybe you don't want to, but its pretty gratifying to turn the tables and create that desire regardless of your end game. and I can understand not wanting a physical relationship but then who cares if she is playing with herself? my wife makes 80k more than me and we tried mediation and it didn't work. someone told me that men don't want to pay alimony 90% of the time but women don't want to pay it 200% of the time. A mediator can't force it on her and she won't give it up. If its important to you, get a lawyer.

Being in the house is likely a comfort to her. If it isn't causing you any problems that she is there when you aren't I would let it slide. When it is her weekend with the kids and you can arrange it, let her stay at the house and you go and be elsewhere doing fun shit you want to do anyway, this isn't for her benefit but for your kids.

Your accountant is going to know if you have to report it to the IRS, not if you have to report it to the court. I would be asking a lawyer. It also really depends on what the side gig is and how you get paid for it. If your gig is generating any tax forms you probably should be reporting it to the court. If you are playing with a band in bar for a couple of hours every few weekends and the owner just gives you some cash.... Well I wouldn't report that.

Just read a study about how men are affected by breakups for much longer than women and women feel more immediate pain and then get over it. 8 years is a long time and hopefully time has made it better and will continue. You might consider seeing a therapist, cause you are right, support for men just kinda sucks. I would also say that rejoining the dating pool can help you realize your ex wasn't all that great and a lot of it is just in your head.

I'd still hold onto any and all evidence. You might be in one of those 13 states. You might also get gaslighted by her. If it was me, the texts and pics would help my resolve to move forward with the divorce. It does you know harm to hold on to evidence until everything is settled. If she later finds out you have that evidence it could be compelling for her to not drag things out due to a fear of you sharing that evidence with others. DO NOT THREATEN THIS!
