Ah, but most men will suffer it anyway, because one of the girls will tell him at one point in time or another how "hot he is in his suit and tie".

Are they reasonable sexist policies, given that men and women clearly don't dress identically in our society? Perhaps that could be argued. That is probably what businesses would argue, after all dress codes are pretty universal across the board and many more allowances have been made for women than men. The place where I am currently working for example? No t-shirts or flip-flops for guys, girls? Have at it.
/r/MensRights11/05/16 04:07 PM

To my eye, this makes them BOTH sexist practices, and both should be challenged. Question is: If both are forced to dress a certain way, is it sexism or just the rule of the business? Sexism would imply that you and your gender are forced to do something purely because of your gender. Certain clothing items are gender specific (e.g. high heels), but that doesn't change the fact that dress codes in general aren't designed for the comfort of the wearer but for the image the company wants to projec…

Do men have to wear heals? Wrong question: Are men allowed to wear heels? Because if a guy shows up in heels and gets sent home (which he most likely would) it's really no different.

shrug Title IX is being used to set up these "processes", so if he was basically tarred and feathered under one of these I still think it's going to fit. Not to mention there are many others who are suing their (former) schools as well under Title IX. What's good for the Goose...... My reading of what is going on right now has me think that Title IX will cost a lot of schools a lot of money, they maneuvered themselves between a rock and a hard place.
/r/PussyPass20/03/16 03:40 AM
1

The reason Title IX comes into play is because it is being used to create these Kangaroo courts at schools, claiming that by not investigating / sanctioning the accused the school is not living up to their Title IX obligations. The nexus of this was the "Dear Colleagues" letter from 2011. He is not the only one who is using Title IX to go after colleges and universities that have wronged the accused. Essentially, the knife is cutting both ways now.

Title IX deals with discrimination based on sex / gender. In part: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

What are you talking about? I would love a workshop where I can tinker on things, rebuild a car or some other machine and just have fun. Same goes with a study, though the computer combined with the internet has pretty much removed the need of that for me.

is just anti-men, and sees men as some boorish caricature. Like you can't like sports and literature. As for "booze" - all sorts of people drink alcohol. Here, "booze" isn't standing in for "alcohol", but for "beer", maybe even light beer - it's cultural elitism. Honestly as someone coming from Europe the sports obsessions I have seen in so many guys here is... weird. It exists to some extend in Europe too but the clubs are local. In my early 20s a coworker said to me: "Men propose, women dispose." That did stick with me and now 16 years later it is pretty evident to me that this is indeed true.

Honestly today with self publishing I don't see how there would be any bias one way or the other. Marketing matters. Publishing is more than just getting a "book on a shelf", it's also about getting the word about it out and people to buy it.

Isn't the word normal sort of redundant?
/r/MensRights30/01/16 05:55 AM

Problem is at least one of the mods is strongly in the SJW realm. I had a back and forth with three of these sociopaths and the "mod" over the last two days, all of them also very active in that threat. I am not sure if the rest of the mod team is not aware of that one mods behaviour or if they outright chose to ignore it, but IMO /r/toronto is a lost cause at this point in time.

Yeah, and not only in the UK, they have become so successful exactly because they resonate a lot with the left in the US as well. The sad thing is, they actually got that reputation deservedly. They did a good job with their Iraq reporting and Snowden and Assange etc. Just somewhere along the lines the clickbait was too strong.

It's counter-productive to go out and look for these articles and run to reddit to post about how awful they are. No it's not. These OpEd pieces do create opinions / help people form opinions. That shit should be called out and people should be made aware of it. Because the only way they will stop publishing dreck like that is when they feel it in their pocket book.
/r/MensRights29/10/15 08:46 PM

The CBC does that too. The other day on a "cultural appropriation" piece more than half of my comments were censored because they questioned the narrative. Unlike the Guardian though they don't actually show you that comments were removed, they just disappear into the void. Message control is everything.

We live in the age of magic. How many people really do know how their smart phone works (even in general terms)? Reality is that most of what is being done to keep the wheels turning happens so far removed from the average person's experience it could just be magic. I feel bad for a lot of the software developers these days, especially web and app because they are getting targeted by all these "More female developer" bullshit. In comparison me doing the Data Centre stuff has kept that shit prett…

Just so I get this straight: There is zero editorial oversight on OpEds. They just magically appear in the newspaper / on the website and are actually not (necessarily) a message the paper wants to promote?

It's not so much double jeopardy. The Crown can't just go back after they lost and try again. Instead there is an appeals process that's open to both the crown and the accused. A higher court decides if the appeal has merit, that means, whoever wants a re-trial needs to show that there is a good reason for this. Ultimately it can go all the way up to the Supreme Court, which it did in this case.
/r/PussyPass15/09/15 01:25 PM

Oh this gets worse. It went all the way up to the Supreme Court of Canada, where they found the previous trial judges actually made errors and should not have allowed her to "go free", but then promptly turned around and set her free anyway because "She has been through a lot". The CBC invited her into their current affairs program and gave her a stage for half an hour where she could tell her tear jerking story. The (former) husband was not invited or asked any question, nor did the CBC feel li…

Oh, the one thing I learned early on is not to apologize unless I know I did something wrong. Which leads to interesting reactions: "You apologized? But you never do!" "Sure I do. When I did something wrong, just not when you decide to blow up on me for no good reason." <crickets>

I'm so glad she realized that she was not treating him with the love and respect he deserves, but it seemed like she was afraid to come straight out, apologize, and admit out loud that she'd been doing wrong. That's not surprising. You suddenly realize that for 12 or so years you've been an ass, it'll take some time to process. Having said that, I don't think she apologized, because that takes even more guts. It's much easier to just change your way and pretend you never were the ass.

You know what it probably is now that I think about it? I've mostly seen middle managers wear them, mostly with company logo on them who will never ever go any further than they had but still thinking they'll make CEO one day.

I am not even close to fat but I have been called a "space heater" by a lot of women in the past. Reality is that for me a comfortable temperature to be physically active is between 5 - 10C (that's when I still wear shorts and t-shirts). When sitting around 18 - 19C is comfortable, 20 is "okay" and when we hit 22C I am starting to get uncomfortable. If you don't mind me sweating all over the place, crank it up, but be aware that over the course of the day I will get more cranky and short fused.

My mistake. I was under the mistaken assumption that self-defense involved defense and not offense. It can involve offence, but it's not a carte blanche to kill or maim someone. Proportionality of force response I think is the term here.

Considering that the courts seem to have a different idea the outcry will be short lived. If anything, I tink Germany could quite well break new ground there. There are a lot of motivated people in Germany and the Supreme Court in general seems to put a high value on the individual and limit institutionatl power.

He, I am not that big but I was told something similar a few years ago with regards to work. It was asserted that the entire team I worked with had "problems with me (probably)". When I said that isn't true she asked me how I knew. I told her I had asked them and talked with them about it. The problem is a population crash is going to be a generational one. By the time the effects are evident, not just reported on / talked about, the numbers will have greatly dwindled. It's the same thing that get's observed in the market. From the time a correction happens, until it arrests increases based on the momentum the initial drop has. In the case of a population collapse that would necessitate the repopulation of the earth (to be a bit melodramatic) would have an incredibly long brake li…

But people are pretty good at recognizing not-so-distant disaster and doing all they can to avoid it. That's okay if the disaster doesn't have a long tail, but things like a population implosion and many other problems do. By the time we recognize the problem and make changes it's already too late. Climate change comes to mind. Even if we would end our carbon emissions tomorrow the long tail will continue for decades if not centuries, and we're talking that level of disaster when we look at the …

Humans won't forget how to have sex or raise children. They might lose the desire to do so in undesirable situations, but in the event of some kind of catastrophic loss of life, they wouldn't just let the species go extinct. Have you ever had depression or interacted with someone who does? You'd be surprised how many "basic things" go by the way side. Knowing about sex and actually wanting sex are two different things. Does that mean we'll die out? I doubt it. There are too many of us, but we ha…

To critics who object that millions of people are having sex without getting unqualified assent and aren’t likely to change their ways, he’d reply that millions of people drive 65 miles per hour despite a 55-mile-per-hour speed limit, but the law still saves lives. No the law does not safe lives, if it is that broadly ignored it clearly has failed. What it does allow though is to "punish the guilty" and gives jurisdictions a nice revenue source.

My general advice would be: Make your life harder. That is, take the stairs, carry that box instead of using a cart, walk a few blocks etc. etc. This is what's mostly missing in today's world. We're too lazy for our own good. Resistance training is great, but so is cardio, for other reasons (e.g. Runner's High). The answer lies "in the mix" and, in no small part, in your diet. let the free market fix your health care prices. Doesn't work that way. Healthcare isn't an elastic expenditure, meaning, you cannot chose or not chose to use healthcare (well, I guess you can but out of obvious reasons it isn't the same as deciding which car to buy). "Free markets" are an illusion anyway, because markets aren't rational because the actors in it (humans) aren't rational. So maybe we can kick the entire idea of the "intelligent" and "wise" market finally to the curb. If you're cu…

Taxes do pay for a lot of stuff though that otherwise you have to pay for individually. E. It'll be society. I am convinced by now. I had a discussion with a feminist recently and it became abundantly clear that it's a religion. You. Yeah, you. You are just as responsible for cultural misandry just as the feminists are. We could argue nature vs. nurture here. I am on the nature side of things. My point being: Men only partially chose to be silent, the other part is that we're genetically programmed to suffer and endure. That's why historically men where explorers, worked in coal mines and died on the battle field. You can fight against that programming to a degree, but in the end most people succumb.

Yes, because the suggestion that the pendulum has gone too far into the other direction means, of course, that we'll have to go all the way back the other way. The only way that will happen is if there is no moderation, because eventually things will break and then it'll be a free for all.

I'm not sure that's really it. There have been documented cases, and the process itself has been documented, where repeatedly "remembering" an event changes the "reality" of the event. Eventually your brain forms new memories that for the person remembering is as real as the original memory. Considering all the rape hysteria it would not surprise me if she griped over it and remembered the "last time they had sex" and a well meaning friend nudged her in the rape direction. She probably does beli…

they did go after the person, or rather two people. The guy in the picture and his friend. Both apparently had sex that night with her. One of them, I think the one who took the picture, then also send it to two girls who then passed it on. Here's the kicker though, the guy in the picture got dinged for producing CP, meanwhile, he's the only one that can actually be identified as underage, the rest just shows an ass that we're being told is hers (all based on the descriptions provided in news ar…

Let me put it this way: I think the CP charges are bullshit and only happened because "something needed to be done". There are two ways to look at this: Her suicide happened because she was bullied because of the pictures. She comitted suicide out of other reasons. If #2 applies then the charges are really just a smoke screen of the "we did something" variety. If #1 applies, then the simple reality is that everybody who distributed the picture further should be charged. This isn't about zero tol…

I can see why they wouldn't press charges for that on anyone except the person who took the picture and was in the picture to begin with. Sorry. Nobody says it's easy. But we are constantly being told by all levels of Governments how big of an issue child pornography is and that we need to give the cops more and more "tools" (both legal and technology) to deal with it. I have been thinking a lot about Aaronson's post and the public reaction to it. After reading a lot of comments on the comment he made it’s pretty clear that he acted typical nerdy (read, Aspi). You’re being told that the system you think you’re operating in is actually not the system you are working in. Instead, there is a “correct way” to use the system and Feminism is the correct one. So what does a nerd do? He tries to figure out the rules of the game, so it’s only natural that he’d be drawn…

It's like acting. Learn the mannerism and use it to your advantage. Of course that won't survive any real long term relationship, but I guess at least it could get you laid. I noticed that every time I don't really care I am suddenly very popular, but the moment I am / want, zilch.

I said it in another thread. Nerds should do what they are being baselessly accused of right now. Keep these people out of their fields. They are hateful and dangerous. The problem is that like Aarson's post made clear, nerds are people too and finding someone "like you" is always what is desirable. That's why so many women in the field do have it a lot easier than guys do.

I think a few things happened, most notably that the Gawkerfication of the media has lead to more and more clickbait, and women are really really good targets for certain shit. So Jezebel et. al. showed the way, others followed. I mean, I cannot see, at all, the NYT putting Sarkeesian onto the front page a decade ago, they would have actually had journalists there who would have done some research. I think Mal is a little bit more traditional, he just wants to come home to a warm dinner. I think Inara would want to travel. You could take Mal then as a Whedon standin. He desires what he can't have because the torture of not having it is giving him satisfaction on it's own.

Angelus was an equal opportunity sadist. I am not debating that. But most of his "regrets" seem to be women centred. Yeah, but he also wanted her to quit her job. The sub/dom roles should not be static. There's suppose to be give and take in relationships. Mal doesn't seem to sacrifice any of his identity for her. That's not quite true. There are grades of submissiveness and there are combinations where complete 24/7 submission is desired. Whedon could very well be falling closer to that end of …

But Whedon I do believe is smart, or at least I did, until I saw this. He can still be smart. Just because his worldview and yours align doesn't mean he isn't smart. Intellectuals have always supported pretty much anything on the spectrum. If anything, i would say that highly intelligent people are the most capable ones on the extreme fringes. Why? You don't really need to be smart to be a good writer or director. You need to be good at writing or directing. That's a talent. Clearly, you can't be a door knob, but you also don't need to be a genius. The reason why we flock to celebrities is because we find something in their expression that resonates with us and that leads many to put more emphasis on that person's opinion than is often warranted.

Biggest testosterone myth is that it causes more aggressiveness. Not been my experience. If anything it has calmed me down, made me more laid back and relaxed. Having said that, Roid Rage does exist, but you need to be severely over what is considered normal for quite some time. As for the rest, go see the endocrinologist and work with them, they'd do a bunch of tests and then probably dial you into a dose, that's better than this "self-medicating" I read on here all the time.

It's about lifestyle choices. People are focussing on the wrong thing: Being fat / overweight isn't the problem, it's the symptom. Taking the stairs instead of the escalator, walking instead of driving etc. will often already help a lot. But that's not really what people want to hear either. They're lazy and want to stay lazy, that's the real crux. I still get strange looks from people when i tell them what area around my house I consider "walkable" or "bikeable".

Of course YMMV.

I am sure some women will take this, as usual, a step too far, but the last one I think looks actually better in the second picture than the first one. Anything taken to excess isn't good, not to mention people do age and it does become harder to "look young", regardless of how often you lift. Most people don't have the luck of the genes to look like they're 20 when they're 50, regardless of how obsessed you are with the gym. Goes for guys too btw.

even though reality gives very few examples of powerful women I'd disagree quite a bit with the statement. History is full of women who wielded power but not in the same way as men, mostly behind the scenes, scheming, setting things in motion. Using men as their pawns. To not acknowledge that just plays into the victim / lack of power argument that feminists constantly use. To repurpose a quote: The greatest trick women have ever played on men was to convince men that women have no power.

This probably lies in the history of China itself. The country went one from innovation and progress to one where it was more desirable to have a cushy Government job. They are to some degree in that they have less of a problem "giving up" their independence. That doesn't mean that basic human traits don't exist / show through. I still think NAWALT applies though, because there are some people who are self-aware and who can put their reactions / desires into context and act accordingly. The reason why most women don't is that they don't really need to be self-aware to get ahead in life.

Yeah, not disagreeing, though I would say that most people's "triggers" are over sensitive, so they attach (sexually or emotionally) to other people way too easily, resulting in "short collisions". I guess from an evolutionary standpoint that makes sense, it creates more diversity in the gene pool if there is less pre-selection. If we all would be choosy in our partners, sexually or emotionally, the birth rate would drop. Not good from a biological standpoint.

The reason these individuals get negative responses is because they identify as "female gamers" rather than just "gamers". Why are you surprised? Sure, if you have your own cow and milk it yourself raw milk is perfectly fine. I have been drinking that too when I was a kid and we spent time on a farm. But raw milk quickly became a public health hazard as milk needed to be transported large distances (even with refrigeration). If you blend milk from thousands of cows together you only need one of them bringing along some bacteria or bad stuff and you can infect the entire batch.

I mean, he clearly seems to be on nurture side of the argument, something most scientists in the field have long stepped away from.

Huh? This is not how civil law works. In dubio pro reo applies. In France, article 9 of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen 1789, which has force as constitutional law, begins: "Any man being presumed innocent until he has been declared guilty ...". The Code of Criminal Procedure states in its preliminary article that "any person suspected or prosecuted is presumed innocent for as long as their guilt has not been established" and the jurors' oath repeats this assertion (artic…

They exist pretty much in all Western countries. This is why they don't order them to give the DNA sample. It's a scare tactic by the cops trying to shame people "to give in". It happens in the US too. It's just that too many people are spineless and don't question those in authority as to what they demand.

It's the "if you have nothing to hide" tactic. basically they try to shame you into giving the sample because only someone who would have something to hide would not give it. If I ever get caught in a drag net like that I will refuse unless presented with a court order. They can do their job right. And yes, the other shaming tactic at that moment is that I would make more work for the cops and prevent them from catching the perp. To which my answer is that I have rights too and not being shaken …

Some women perceive being treated by guys in exactly the way that they treat everyone else to be threatening and sexist. Actually I think the vast majority of "male threat" comes from this misinterpretation. The funny thing is that we have all these people tell men to "check their privilege" and insist that privilege is invisible to those who have it meanwhile......

There's a lot of learning ahead - and that's the best part. Sooooooo.... Do I read this right? She doesn't really want to do technology anymore, she just wants to talk about it? Isn't that exactly the problem that most women who claim they "love technology" don't actually want to work with technology, rather "talk about it"?

Girls with dogs are great. Just look at how they treat the dog and you have a pretty good idea about their personality. Oh I know the other side. Just look at what's happening here in Canadian Universities. My point is: If the MRA wants to affect long term change they have to do it in a reasonable way and wrestle control away from the Feminists. Getting all emotional / angry will not work, either because women have more "oh you poor thing" capital than man or because it'll play into the feminist stereotype of men. it's the sexual equivalent of gluttony. So what about all the kids / people that party every night? I mean, the vast majority of humans has the tendency to overdo the things they enjoy until they either smarten up or are forced to change. Why should sex be any different? There are plenty of smart ladies who are attracted to intelligence. I wasn't debating that part. Merely that you need to be foreceful to attract women. Clearly, you do not. Different strokes, for different folks. I'm not down with equal rights until it is earned with equal responsibility. That should be the end goal, but at times the initial step is too much, so you need to "tilt the world" for a while. its a socially accepted way to be patriotic in a continent where nationalism has been frowned upon since WW2. See this is funny to me, because where I grew up "nationalism" was even more frowned upon than here. The national holiday was a day of reflection, not celebration (though looking at it from afar it seems to have changed over the last 15 or so years). Memory hazy, but I think it has to do with sperm mobility. But in the end you don't want to create sperm in the first place. So blocking the GnRH receptors is probably the better way forward. Testosterone is predominant hormone that drives sperm production Um no. Testosterone has zero to do with sperm production. Sperm production in the testies is triggered by GnRH or gonadotropins, not testosterone. If you can either suppress the GnRH production in the brain or prevent the binding of gonadotropins to the receptors in the testicles no sperm will be produced.

She rolls up in a shitty early 00s Honda SUV and I have a new BMW. Yeah, bit of advice here: If you judge a girl by her car, you're doing it wrong. The vast majority knows what a steering wheel is, that's about it. If you want to date a guy, judge him by the car he arrives in.

White guys are smart enough to realize that underneath that cover of "submissiveness, exoticness, etc." there really is an Asian tiger. And it's fucking horrifying. Maybe that's a cultural difference, but I don't really find that "Asian Tiger" very intimiodating (then again, I am almost 40). If anything I prefer that to the backhandedness that is so prevalent in most North American women (I grew up in Europe). I also never found Asian (first generation) women very submissive, if guys think that …

Or, the ones who "don't believe in God because I believe in science" when belief in God is a not a scientific question, but a philosophical (/theological) one. Not to mention that if you "belief in Science" you just admitted to believing in another religion. You can trust the Scientific Method but you can't just believe in science. Then again, if they knew the difference between Science and the Scientific Method they wouldn't say that crap in the first place. EDIT: Formatting

I am not sure how you can deduct any kind of intend by the friend. All we have is her saying: "I hate you show you this" but to read intend into it goes a bit far. We're all speculating here. You're also projecting your own: "This is what I think I'd be doing" onto her, which says more about you (or how you think you would act) than about her.

I just don't buy it - by saying "...how?" she basically admits it's true. But if she admits its true, she'd go in "I was going to tell you"-mode. Keep in mind that this is him summarizing it, I didn't get the feeling this was all verbatim. Cheating has serious consequences, so cheaters don't admit to cheating unless they know there's no other option (in which case they'll credit themselves for being honest and upfront). Possible, but not quite plausible. If she'd been disgusted by this and she would really be a friend to the girl she'd told her to come clean, not "rat her out". There was something else at play here. Be it jealousy that she got to fuck the famous guy or that she wanted to get back at her for something else. There is a very very small chance that you're right, but I wouldn't bet on it.

and if someone was hit by a car moving them might not be a great idea. If there is no heart function then it's not a bad idea either. First thing should be to check airways. Bit different to be at an accident scene than wiping some blood away from you. When you get hit by a car it's not just blood, but other bodily fluids, it may be body pieces lying around, limbs at odd angles, weird combination of smells and sounds etc. More interesting to me is that all the bystanders keep shouting at her instead of jumping into action themselves. They are completely "checked out" and don't recognize anything around them. Since then it was always a pick and choose: Yes, equality in the boardroom but not in the sewage department etc. I grew up in the 70s and 80s in Germany, I remember the rise of the green party and the general idea of "feminism" back then and even at a youn…

Yeah, there can be a problem with certain character types. Some people just have an on/off switch and no dial on it. I have a friend of who had an aneurism and the doctors put him on a low-sodium diet to control his blood pressure. What does he do? He proudly told me how much UNDER the allowance he got. She may have very well gotten too far the other way, I guess time will tell. Having said that. Shaming her for it is just as useless as shaming her for being fat before. It won't change anything.

What /u/RedSunBlue says is a good start. Also: Get a routine. Get up at a decent time, go to bed at a decent time. Avoid alcohol (it's a depressant). I have had phases of depression as well. I think the lack of fashion sense goes back to protestant times (well, historically speaking) and the general "anti-sex" kind of attitude (not saying Americans don't fuck, they clearly do, see porn industry). Good fashion accentuates the body and in a way makes it "more sexy", both for men and women and if you're sort of against that, then fashion sense is the first thing that goes (of course on the flip side you have then highly sexualized clothing, there is just no middle ground). As for langu…

In the past I brushed them aside, kept going and waited for proof. Now I am more guarded at that stage and actively search for it, usually it doesn't take a lot of digging.

It really depends on the tattoo. I have one that I got around 9 years ago. I knew I wanted one for four years prior, I knew what I was supposed to stand for, but the image didn't come to me until four years later. It has a meaning, it's a personal marker and nit will be with me until I am dead. And you know the funny thing? From the moment it was on my skin it felt like it belonged. I have pondered a second one ever since, again, I have a meaning in mind, but I haven't found the right image yet.…

Perhaps I'm hamstering? Yeah you are. Traditionally tattoos were a mark of reaching manhood, at least that's where their origins lie. I have one tattoo, I got as a "marker" after going through some shit. It's for me, not for you or any other hamster out there.

My favourite POF filter is: "Must not have messaged someone looking for intimate encounter or sex". The funny thing about that filter is it only works if the OTHER person has that on their profile. So basically the filter says: "I don't want someone who had just eaten dinner and is now offered a cookie and because he took it he's not trustworthy". I can imagine though how the thinking went: "Well, when a guy goes after free sex than clearly he can't be trusted".

You can't go around assuming hypotheses are correct, then try to prove it. That isn't science, it's the opposite of science. Actually that is how it's supposed to work: Create Hypothesis (scientifically) Test Hypothesis If the hypothesis passes the test it becomes a scientific theory, if not, a new hypothesis is being postulated. Repeat.

The reason TRP is rejected is not that it doesn't work or they don't know it. It's rejected because it makes people uncomfortable that so much of their behaviour is driven by factors they don't understand / control. We live in a society where we are being told that we are the masters of our domain. And hey, for the vast majority of people that's true. The odds of you getting mauled by a wild animal or dying from a little prick followed by an infection is pretty much nil in most of the developed …

There's a book out there called "What women really want" and it looks at the latest sexual research and the whole rape fantasy comes up repeatedly. The interviews with the (female) researchers are funny because she sort of can't really admit she wants it she's going back and forth and then just let it hang. Mental disconnect. It's amusing how often one of the researchers keeps re-affirming that she's a feminist and not advocating rape.
/r/TheRedPill18/01/14 08:41 PM
4

The entire feminist argument is pretty much bullshit. Women like to look at women too. The only time women actually find men "sexy" is when they sport a hard on (there are some studies to that effect). So really, this "exploitation of the female body" is universal, has nothing to do with the invented patriarchy or any other rationalization. Realistically the reason why some women are up in arms over female nudity is because they compare themselves to these models and then find themselves lacking…
/r/TheRedPill16/01/14 09:39 PM

Non-feminists hate you because they feel threatened by your idealism, the same way a fat person gets shit from their fat friends when they start to lose weight, because it makes everyone aware of their own shortcomings. No, but I don't get guys like you because you actively work against your own self-interest without even remotely making the world a better place. I think the term I am trying to apply to you here is: Masochist.

No one is that deluded. She's successful, she's in demand, she has a giant bullhorn. I think it's quite possible that she is considering herself a good catch. Which isn't really a problem. What is a problem is that she seems to think that anybody who doesn't like her is wrong.

It bothers me that this man made life-changing career decisions and altered the path of his life over some third-hand banter about what some detractors think The Red Pill is. I don't think that was the prime reason. He just takes the whole "protector thing" to the next level and being a cop has some perks as far as females are concerned. TRP is just a really good rationalization for internet points, plus he can feel morally superior.
/r/TheRedPill11/01/14 01:41 AM

The ignorance of science while purportedly being an expert in the field is nauseating throughout reddit. That's not limited to reddit, it's all over the internet, the media and dare I say, schools. We don't teach or report on scientific methods, we nicely parcel up "knowledge" and then toss it out. Prime example: The extensive use of percentages in news reporting to show an increase / decrease of something. All the while you never get a base line.

She is willing to do some damage for the sake of ...damage, because she has other prospects. I don't think that's it. This is looks more like she's trying to get him angry, then she can justify her breakup because he's a dick. And yes, "being honest" to him is totally rationalized that way too.
/r/TheRedPill10/01/14 06:18 AM

I think it's a combination of factors / a reaction chain. It's cold outside. People stay more inside. People spend more time in front of the TV / Internet. People read about MGTOW / Redpill People start searching on Google for these terms. If the momentum carries through the summer I'd say it "Has landed" if it dwindles once North America thaws out, then it was really only due to the weather. I think we may have "reached critical mass" on a few things this winter, but it's too early to call it.
/r/TheRedPill07/01/14 06:54 AM

I don't think it causes MGTOW either, but I can see how it's a valid hypothesis. Not really, unless you want to reduce masculinity / manliness to sexual conquest / testosterone.
/r/TheRedPill07/01/14 05:57 AM

That it is winter and many people spend more time on the internet could also contribute to it. East of the lower mainland it's basically freezing you inside your house, and here on the coast we have no snow, so all the skiing etc. that usually happens this time of the year is off.

I've been in "ops" in one form or the other for almost 20 years and I had jobs where suit & tie was the norm, even in the server room. Heck IBM didn't relaxe their dress code until the late '90s / early '00s. If you really do a dirty job you tend to have an overall (see mechanics), not jeans and t-shirt.
/r/TheRedPill06/01/14 02:48 AM

It did start as a "counter culture" thing though, that it has "become the norm" is more a sign on how deep "geeks" have infiltrated daily life (e.g. no longer needing to conform to the "old rules"). It's still a uniform though.
/r/TheRedPill06/01/14 02:47 AM

Oh yeah of course it's the simple way of doing it. But you can also do that while not really investing a lot of time into it. Online dating is pretty much a dead end these days if you're looking for something other than a quick lay and can be hyper aggressive in it. The pile of shit is pretty deep.

See it more as a better ROI. It costs little to carpet bomb a dating site, if you're really "into it" you can slightly modify the messages to pick on one thing or the other they have in their profile, but often that's not even needed. I always saw his background more in being an equalitist. He saw a (perceived) imbalance on the womens side and started intervening. As /u/TRPACC pointed out he then used the same metrics with men and found things wanting there as well. Eh, possible why not. The mainstream rarely goes for "good taste" but follows the herd instinct. There are probably a few "breaking points" along the line, it depends on how you define it. You need a minimum amount of genetic diversity to allow for healthy offspring in a population, that's sort of your hard breaking point. Additionally there are other markers. In short: For guys it's about "getting their rocks off" and a study from last year (I think) from the EU concluded that with the rise of cheap / easy porn sexual assaults have started to decrease. Both of these things together make a lot of sense. So now look at male <--> female relationship. Many women I have met use sex …

Hahaha, this is golden. A slight moment of self reflection (Yes, maybe we are a little bit selfish (ya think?)", and then it's all about me-me-me-me. Oh I have been there: "Let me give you a list of things that annoy me about you and why you're not dateable, but let's be friends because I really enjoy spending lots and lots of time with you. What do you mean you don't? The guy I have a crush and rejected me, well, if he would offer me that I'd be all over that (sure you would be sweety)". Thanks…

Considering that you need the triangle to sustain a fire, water actually is intended to take the "heat" leg away from it. To that end, these fine mist / high pressure nozzles that exist are exactly designed for this: To cool as large of an area as possible as quickly as possible (why vaporizing the tiny water droplets).

This subreddit is not about learning how to manipulate women, it's about learning how to better yourself as a man. The problem is that many get here because they are frustrated, angry and try to find a way. And let's face it. There IS a way to manipulate women (like there is a way to manipulate almost anybody) and RedPill theory clearly fits in that as well. It's not that RedPill is evil or manipulative, but the techniques can be use for evil. I guess that's what's called "dual use".

I have zero on-call. I have the occasional long day when we're doing a POC or test and things go sideways beyond my contingency planning, but spending 18+ hours at the job for days at a row just to revive a system? Long long gone and I am not complaining :)

It's a window into their insecurities. Yeah no doubt. I have "broken" a few women (and guys) over the years. Mostly because I rarely ever try to appease people. Or rather. I let them run with it up to a point and then they choke on the their own chain. Either way, I had far worse experiences than dating tri-girls, but it clearly was a different attitude (although, all the ones I dated were short distance ones, I wonder if on the longer distances the mental makeup would change as well).

You have to beat other men, not yourself or some abstraction. All valid points, but that wasn't that was about. It was a constant: "I am better at X than you are" type of deal. And I am not only talking sports here. Fine, I get competition, though the reason I do Ultras is mostly because it's seeing how far / hard I can push myself. Interestingly enough, in the longer distances the mental makeup of people is quite different. There is less a sense of "against each other" as "against the race". I …

When I still did tris (I stopped because I hated that what it turned into, though I am considering getting back into Ultras), a guy had an encounter at bar. Apparently a barfly came over, looked at the mag and said something along the lines of: "You can't really find these women attractdive, can you? It's not only commercials or broadcast TV. Take stroll down the Terminator movies for a crash course in how things got softened up. Do you think marriage is ever worth it? I'd say it's like playing the lottery. So yes, it can be worth it. But right now for a guy the odds of losing big are higher than ever before. The current divorce laws etc. all stem from the idea that women need a man to provide for them (yes, you could call that sexism). Why? Because they build on that notion that women don't work (outside the house) etc. This clearly has changed. A woman leaving a man does no longer mean they have a high likelyhood to en…

Yes, probably the most reliable way to determine paterinity. I mean, I am somewhat on the up-and-up on what's done in biology these days, and I am sure you could intermix DNA and then have it show "correct" during sequencing, but the cost of that would be prohibitive and it's not something you can just order over the internet. If you want to be really certain then not only have them check for paternity but maternity as well. A valid sample would then show both the mothers and the fathers DNA. No…
/r/MensRights12/10/13 11:17 PM

I wouldn't worry about the DNA sample, the analysis of the sample would need to show traces of your dna and that of the mother in order to be "valid". I am pretty certain she won't have access to the kind of technology that would allow her to create that. So if she sends in the wrong sample, tough, it still won't have both of your DNA.

I also notice how mens health is rarely mentioned in the media. Because the Feminist narrative is that everything is ABOUT men, unless it's specifically for women. That is, unless you have "toys for girls" then it's sexism. No, you really cannot win with some of them.

I may have not explained that correctly. I don't think that back then this was really happening as couples were already "stuck" together as well. So a woman seeking someone else would probably not have occurred to them, in large amounts. Either way. I wouldn't count on a "replay" anyway, there are still many back breaking labour jobs out there, but they aren't in the city and I don't think most people would know how to do them anyway / look for them. Haven't read the book, but the problem with this is the physical arousal doesn't correspond to subjective arousal (it's very unlikely women are subjectively aroused by the sight of apes having sex). Not disagreeing, more that how quickly even basic biological urges turn off if the guy isn't "standing up". Doesn't follow, because subjective arousal should be the metric determining how "sexual" a person is. The book goes beyond that, interviews etc. follow as well as some more insight into it. To …

Actually for men it's apparently the shaving. At least if you wet shave. The razor takes off not only the hair but also the top / dead layer of your skin. As for the girl in the photos, she isn't ugly, but yeah, less cover up would probably clear up those pimples quickly.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either you are fully responsible for the actions take while drunk or you aren't responsible for anything you do while drunk. I think this attitude is rooted in the idea that women don't want sex, only guys. So if a woman gets drunk and has sex it's not really HER wanting it, it's just the guy taking advantage of her. Good for you, but let's talk in 20 years and see if you kept up with that. Life has the tendency to get a bit more complicated later. Oppression really only applies if you look at a very narrow segment of society. Realistically both men and women were more affected by their status than their gender. That doesn't mean imbalances didn't exist, but I would say women in general got more good than bad out of it. It's pretty evident today as well where women argue they deserve all the same rights but in general don't seem to be too hot on also arguing for the same responsibilities.

It comes out of the Dworkin idea that ALL sex is rape. That a woman CANNOT consent to have willful sex with a male. False. Most ALPHA guys do this. The average American guy in his 20's right now has trouble getting laid more than ever. That may be the case (I am far out of my 20s), but that a societal, not a biological problem. If you want to bring biology into this, we are not meant to start raising a family in our 30's. From a male perspective? Because you could not be certain that if you are with her she won't do it again AND if she gets pregnant you would wonder if it's yours or just someone else's. Men, in contrast, don't have that problem, because we don't have to keep them in us for nine months and then pop them out, by the time that happens we could be over two more mountain ranges.

Yes it does. Because if you accept others as they are then you are more likely to treat them the same as other people. No, you will never EVER treat every person the same way, we are interacting differently with different people, but having this attitude will reduce the ups and down between different people. Egality and Equality are markers on a post we will never reach, but we need to keep trying to get as close as possible.

I don't even know how one is supposed to define equality between two groups that have totally different needs, Live and let live, don't take everything the other group is doing as a personal attack and don't cast yourself as the victim of the other group. Really not that hard.

If you encourage not communicating about sex, chances are people aren't going to communicate about sex. I was more thinking along the lines of not picking up on cues people may be giving. But yes, this bizarre relationship to Sex in North America can't help. My summary of that is: "Oversexed and underserved". I have to say as a member of the BDSM community, this is actually opposite. Non-mainstream sex is where you'll find tons of communication. Non-verbal sex and not explicitly discussing what …

People play games because they don't want to be rejected, so there is a "back and forth" going on. I have to wonder if a lack of direct human to human interaction is actually part of the problem these days. we now have the first generation become sexually active that essentially grew up with the internet and conducts a large amount of their social interaction that way. I don't understand people who don't do this. Because most people consider sex private? Especially if they are "into things" that…

College guys from classes and random guys I find camaraderie with while in public areas. I think this is a cultural thing. I grew up in Europe and there was some talk about sex, but usually not in any detail or an expansive topic. Having moved to North America sex also rarely comes up as a topic of conversation. I would say you're just "unlucky" to be in that kind of environment (aka bros).

IP Addresses most likely. Most ISPs don't drop your IP anymore but instead let you keep it. Proxies or TOR would allow you to bypass that though unless they get really concerned about this and block those IP ranges as well (though with TOR that may be very hard to do).

A few years ago I started writing some erotica on a dare by an ex. She gave me some ideas, I wrote them, she liked it. I figured I put that up on a free blog site as there may others who enjoy it, and quite a lot of women did. I got messages with more story ideas and even requests. Interestingly many of these requests had women in the submissive role which I found curious, having grown up with this feminist idea that things were supposed to be about bunnies and rainbows. Anyway, one day I got a …

At what age did you get it? It's a genetic condition, so it's from day one. Has it affected your physiological development? The problem with her statements is a simple one: "She probably caught him cheating, so he deserved it". That's a pretty telling sentiment. It also makes me wonder if she had the same reaction if you turn her argument around: "She probably cheated and that's why he hit her.". But then again, I never got why it's okay for women to be physical violent (they do less damage!) but for men it's a big no-no. It's the motivation that counts more than anything else, not the final outcome.

No. I think you misunderstand what I am saying. There is no expectation of privacy in a public space. There are ample rulings in pretty much every country that define what "public space" is. A Model release has nothing to do with privacy and everything to do with the control of your image in a commercial context. This model release needs to be obtained by the copyright holder which is the creator (aka, photographer). In the context of this it means that if there would be a commercial activity as…

It's more about the double standard that gay men and women taking sneaky photos of men and plastering them all over the internet is okay, but a (straight) guy taking a photo of a woman in the same place is "icky".
/r/MensRights25/08/11 04:22 PM

In my non-expert opinion it's probably (just) on the right side of the law (unfortunately), but I'd like to see it examined. I think it comes down to the photographer who holds the copyright to the image. If they receive anything in return for taking the picture it could be argued that this is a commercial endeavour and thus requires a model release. In this case though it seems to be no different than posting a photo to flickr or twitter and thus a model release would not be needed.

As a photographer I have to disagree. I regularly take photos of complete strangers without them being aware of it, that's part of Street Photography after all. I think it depends on the intent. I don't think that has anything to do with care and a lot to do with most men would never admit to have been taken advantage off. Be it sexually of financially. We get more time to have fun. A smart girl is on the hunt from age 21, we can wait another 15 years easily. The funny thing is an ex of mine had exactly that attitude (she's late 30s now) and kept repeating it over and over to any girl younger than her (and telling me too). So although she had passed that point, she still thought she could play that card, hence, she's the ex.

If guys weren't such horn dogs, they wouldn't have this "privilege". So what's the solution? Guys should stop messaging girls? The problem is that from a societal norm standpoint guys are still supposed to make the first contact. It's sort of bizarre when you see someone check your profile, three, four or five times, not saying anything and when you shoot them a message there is silence. Women may have "their pick", but your explanation alone doesn't seem to cut it.

Weight and excess fat have NOTHING to do with fitness levels. Yes and no. This can be true in some cases but I think in general being heavy / fat does not lead to an active lifestyle, dragging all that extra (dead) weight around makes any kind of physical activity much more strenuous.

OKC did a picture analysis and it seems the "better looking" people tend to get less contacts. They weren't quite sure why, but speculated that it is several reasons: That people presume they get lost in the shuffle. That they don't feel "good enough", especially if it comes with a sleuth of degrees etc. My personal take: If the photo looks TOO GOOD I wonder if it's actually real (having more than one can sort of mitigate that).

I am not arguing against age of consent law (though the age seems to be set rather arbitrarily) rather about this glaring contradiction that on the one hand we tell kids they can't decide to have sex with an adult while at the same time telling them they can be punished like an adult.

I think as society there is a serious problem when it comes to sex in genearl (at least in North America). Yes, because people regularly depart groups with: "Me and my wife now go back to our room where we will have romping sex all night long." The "I am going to bed" is a socially acceptable "get out of the group free" card and as such means really litte.

IANAL so get yourself one. But: Maybe you should go to the police and report her threat? As a layman to me the best defence seems to be a good offence. If you report her threat to the police you can probably forestall her keeping this hanging over your head. But again, talk with a lawyer about your options.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I stil don't see where the guy went "wrong", outside of her feeling "uncomfortable". Maybe there should be a law to that effect? Not sure if you realize this, but you are in some ways responsible for how you present yourself to people. If you act in a creepy way, don't be surprised if you make people uncomfortable. I'm not saying she has some kind of inalienable, constitutional right to not feel uncomfortable. What I am saying is that part of being a mature, empathetic adult is recognizing how your actions affect others. Hahahaha. Yeah, she has shown that she doesn't have any of those either. It's called social grace, the guy should've realized he would make her uncomfortable by acting as he did. The guy asked her a question, that's all. Sorry, no, not the guys fault or problem. That means that every interaction we have with someone else does have a sexual component. If she doesn't like that she should stop leaving the house. She's inside an enclosed space with him, this is what "cornering" means. It is my understanding that they never talked one-on-one. He was simply in the same area as her. It's an elevator, in a hotel, well lit, with security cameras and emergency alarms. If you're trapped with a Schroedingers Rapist or a Schroedingers Bitch you're probably in the best place you could be at. Where in her account do you read that she announced that she will leave now on her own, go to her room alone and does not want to be approached by any other human being at this point in time? If you can't see how cornering a strange woman in an elevator in a strange country at 4 AM and asking for sex would make her uncomfortable, you lack empathy. Cornering? Bit more melodrama please. Oh, and that "stranger" apparently was sitting with her in the bar for a few hours, so it's not like it was a guy dashing into the elevator, covered in black clothing and wearing a face mask. Her feeling uncomfortable is one thing, to blow it out of proportion though is another and that's where the prob…

Being sexual isn't (or shouldn't be) an all or nothing proposition. It's ok to ask a stripper to take her clothes off if she's on stage, but not so much if she's off the clock at the grocery store. Excuse me. So by your (and her) logic: If you find someone sexual attractive you better fucking make a 180, don't look at them, don't make eye contact and for Gods sake do not EVER say anything to them. You both are certifiable.

Claiming that she wasn't being asked for sex is obfuscating the issue, that's what. How do you see an issue there in the first place? The whole point is that he asked in an awkward way that would make most women uncomfortable. In the future, he should try to avoid that. Uhuu. So I guess men now have to be able to read women's minds in order to make them not uncomfortable. Yeah, that'll work. She can complain about it but quite frankly: If you're that obsessed over being sexualized then maybe you shouldn't go on record as a sexual object. I think the term "feminism" has become too poisoned to redeem. Possible. Or at least it needs a break. I mean, I agree with some feminist ideals, sure, but I wouldn't call myself a feminist if you paid me. The way I put it, was that if 90% of Christianity was the Westboro Baptist church and 10% was Mother Teresa, I might still believe in god, Jesus and all that, but I'd call myself something other than Christian, to dissociate myself from the 90% of Christianity that inform the public perception…

If you dedicate your life to a cause then sooner or later the cause runs your life. Social change usually requires a lot of initial effort, adversary, then you get the masses moving with you until the "good enough" stage is reached at which point the masses stop moving along. The original "fighters" though do not know anything BUT fight, so they try to find new targets and they tend to become more and more obscure and irrelevant.

I don't think it's quite that simple. Feminism (the original one) was something that was a good thing to happen. These days though? It's bizarre to no end. I always find it amusing when you hear guys talk about being feminists, how all guys are pigs and how they would never ever do anything (sexual) to a woman unless she initiated etc. I really wonder why those guys don't take a knife to their manhood and be done with it. Clearly they seem to think it's a bad thing to be male.

Let me put it this way: I DID have the experience how an uncovered head feels against underwear, considering that people I know who are cut aren't constantly in deep discomfort I would guess that over time the sensitivity of the head alone goes down. If you don't know what it's like to be circumcised, what exactly are you "appreciating"? I think the only people that are qualified to tell us what it's like are the guys who have been circumcised later in life. "Life altering"? I honestly have no plans to circumcise my son, but I am circumcised, and I'm pretty sure it hasn't altered my life much. How do you know? I am pretty sure you got circumcised right after birth, so you never got to experience your foreskin.

Women care more about a pig or chicken being in pain than they do about baby boys...WTF? I don't really think it's that. It's mostly that they do not realize what the effects are. Having a foreskin and knowing the sensitivity in it I would have to say many guys who don't have it lose out a lot. I also think in a lot of cases fathers are in support of the foreskin removal if they don't have their own. After all, I have read the argument a few times, he should look like Daddy.

There's a huge difference between seeing feminists as an enemy and seeing women as an enemy. I hope your not suggesting that pointing out women's privileges is anti woman, as that's all I said. I chose to respond to your first comment because "whining and dining" gives somewhat of a weak impression of women's privileges. I didn't think anything bad of it I just wanted to add. Well, I just tried to clarify my point here, in hindsight it could be taken the wrong way. :) In your second post you said that women used to be mistreated in divorce, which is NOT the case now but men instead. The problem I see with this study, if it is the same we're talking about here, is that they never seemed to have captured other data, e.g. how often did the subjects have sex for example which sort of puts the risk analysis at best a bit askew.
