No lie. Love is a lifelong accumulation of respect and mutually aligned interest, not some random tingle.

The quintessence of his talks is: women have no particular talent for monogamy, significantly less than men anyway.

Wow, good stuff. Wish we could get someone writing about this in English.

I would say this is a function of guys beta-backsliding as their relationship goes on.

At first, guys are usually the ones who don't really want to commit and/or they start off spitting good game, not being too needy, etc. All these things make the girl want him more. Then, as the relationship progresses, the guy becomes more committed to the girl, he becomes more emotionally invested and he gets comfortable. He lets her get away with more shit, he starts failing shit-tests, he fails to control her talking to other guys. Basically, he stops letting her know that he has other options. And of course the girl, being hypergamous as always, begins to be drawn towards other guys she perceives as more alpha.

So here is the solution for guys. You can either

a. Forget about relationships

b. 'Game' your girlfriend every day. Every day you wake up you need to subtly let her know you have other options and will leave if she messes up. Be aware of shit tests and how much she's talking to other guys. Be a man and take charge always, and don't tolerate any disrespect. Otherwise, she will start looking for other guys she perceives as more alpha than you. Always remember, women are hypergamous and all of these things matter even if you've been together for years

Does not surprise me.

Women go in and out of love / emotional attachement constantly. Men on the other hand rarely do. It's either an all or nothing at that point.

I have seen friends of mine in their teens go through this, it was them who fell to pieces at the end, not the girls. Though if you would have gone by the wailing you'd thought otherwise.

i dont think the author of the article and presumably the author of the book understood the topic entirely.

they ask what will be the replacement to monogamy; what will come after it? how will the society adapt to this change?

the answer is that society wont adapt. it will simply be replaced. as the book (and the article) mentions, the overwhelming majority of cultures are monogamous.

monogamy is not a development that naturally comes over time, and it neither marks the endspot of development of a culture. but any culture that does not have monogamy simply dies over time, because either the men do not have an incentive to procreate (e.g. because they can obtain sex without having to marry a woman - this was the case for ancient rome) or the women do not have incentives to procreate (e.g. because they dont need a man/children to provide for them as the state/themselves can do it - this is the case today).

the future development of the west is quite obvious: the first step was the third world immigration (latinos in US, arabs in EU), and in step two the higher fertility (relative to the natives) will slowly but continuously replace the native population. this process takes some time, hence the natives will not really recognize this change.

during this process, both the welfare state and with it the feminism experiment will perish. that is the alternative to monogamy.
