He barely spoke. These guys cooked themselves when confronted with their own hypocrisy. The problem with feminism is it's a gendered lens used to redress systemic imbalances with one group. These systemic imbalances exist. This is also the problem with Men's Rights, especially because the complaints are framed as if they are in competition with the complaints of feminism. The competition is unnecessary and self defeating. Men's issues are important and there are many feminists that agree, they a…

My wife adores me. She works, I stay home and take care of our 16 month old baby. In fact I asked her if she admired as she was leaving the boy in the bathroom I was shitting in as she raced off to work just now. She got this confused look on her face as she immediately replied, "Of course, I admire you so much boy. I love you." (We call each other boy and girl as pet names). If you want to be admired, be admirable. Women can admire men for more than their paycheck, and often do. She thinks I'm …

Men do this too. Seems like you have had some experiences that for you were unpleasant. Have you considered that perhaps your impression of these circumstances is different from what you believe those women in fact experienced?

This is actually what most men want honestly, but it's viewed through the lens of "sex" because a lot of emotional context is overlooked because of cultural factors. Picking up women is just considered the first step because logically you can't form a relationship with someone that you haven't even talked to. So lonely and guys desperate to form a connection that will certainly LEAD to intimacy wind up fixating on what they THINK is step 1, and this gets validated by guys that want to appear lik…

Red Pill has the math/marketing angle all wrong. How do I know? I'm a copywriter that has actually worked in the PUA market. I've created content for those courses, and I was in charge of a coaching program for guys like you. Marketing isn't just a "numbers game" - it's a demographic game. There's billions of people on the planet - not all of them are "buyers" for every product. You don't find those buyers by pitching everyone on the planet - it's not cost effective and it's also insane to think…

Sure, but paint me a picture of what you think a relationship is like outside of sex. Let's start there, because honestly - this is the part where dudes like you get in trouble. I'm almost 300lbs. My wife is 7 years younger than me and has always been in better shape than me. She makes more money than me - though not when we met. We have been happily together for over a decade - we met in 2012. So - working on yourself means something if you are doing so to find a partner that you will be happy …

If you spend all of your time thinking about how to pick up women - what will you have in common with the ones that say yes? What will you talk about that you are passionate about that you both mutually share? What forms the basis of a relationship where you will both enjoy the time you spend together that has nothing to do with sex?

Yeah you don't actually understand gender theory if you can't describe it accurately in your criticism of it. And all words are made up.

Again, the pronouns thing is the equivalent of a nickname. Nicknames can be quite silly, yet it would be rude to not use the nickname they request. Putting up such opposition to using their nickname strikes me as quite hysterical. And intentionally misgendering someone is a form of harassment. If I were to call you missy or ma'am as a man, this is a form of name-calling. If it made you uncomfortable at school or work, that's the creation of a hostile workplace. That it was only happening to tran…

JP is very good in a very narrow band - but he's terrible outside of essentially self-actualization. His forays into politics are bad and make him and his supporters look dumb. The trans issue for example - he describes it as a free speech issue because of compulsory language when it its actually a harassment issue that can be best understood as using someone's preferred nickname. If you don't call someone by their preferred nickname and instead use your own nickname for them, that isn't free sp…

I like a lot of this but honestly the whole Alpha male thing IS toxic. It's literally based off of wolves in captivity - not wolves in the wild. Wolves in the wild are families. They lead from behind to protect their offspring. They dominate to teach their children, not to remain the head of the pack.

So, I'm going to offer you an alternative - and this is from someone who isn't feminist or anti-feminist. I'm just happily married, with a child that I currently have sleeping in my lap while I play Assassin's Creed. My wife is currently the breadwinner. We have our issues, but I do not envy the relationship of any man I know. And what I'm linking to are the rules I use for all of my relationships. At a certain point you should start to question your influence on the community you cultivate around yourself. My community of friends would never tell me I shouldn't date fat people and I'm a fat person. They might tell me to be realistic about my expectations, but my life is made up of my choices. That being said, your experience of fat people isn't the full picture. You seem to have a habit of making the assumption that your sample size is sufficient for you to be judgemental of people who ar…

There are plenty of examples where someone has "unconditional positive regard" for someone they find to be completely useless. I love my mom, but she is completely useless in a crisis. In an emergency she is a liability, not an asset. Love is irrational. Flip the script - can you find value in someone that you loathe? If it is possible to find value with someone that you cannot stand to be around, why isn't it possible to love someone you find no value in?

What is the source of that good feeling and what is being exchanged when it is one sided?
/r/ExRedPill25/04/25 12:12 AM
6

We aren't exchanging value in a transactional way. This attempt to oversimplify ignores the fact that the value I get from some of what I do for her is her happiness. That's not value she is giving me - that's happiness I am getting from doing something altruistic with no concern for getting anything in return. If you stop and help a stranger change their tire - is that transactional?
/r/ExRedPill24/04/25 11:30 PM
7

My wife loves me - not what I do for her. We support each other not because it's an exchange, but rather because we want the other to be happy. Shes my best friend - and she doesn't need to do things for me in order for me to enjoy spending time with her. Being a parent is work. Kids don't exchange anything with you to make up for the cost, sleep deprivation, or the sacrifices in time required to take care of them. They can never fully repay what is invested in them. I love my wife and my child.…
/r/ExRedPill24/04/25 11:07 PM

Too limited of a view, because many aspects of a relationship are simply not transactional. Parenthood will grind that lesson into you, but that lesson begins with your relationship with yourself.

I'm quoting Briffault. That's not me thinking what I like - that's me knowing what his law is. You are the one invalidating knowledge because you don't like it. I'm quoting the creator of the law you cited, so either the law is BS or Red Pills application of it is BS.
/r/ExRedPill24/04/25 02:26 PM

I quoted Briffault. That's all I did. You invoked Briffaults law as true. It's also true it doesn't apply to humans, according to the creator of the law. So that's the reality. Red Pill ideology doesn't mention that when mentioning the law - because doing so would invalidate the conclusions it pushes. If you have a better example than this, show me. But the only thing I supported with this quote is that Red Pill doesn't reflect the truth of evolutionary psychology or other social sciences. It's …

They are accepted but RedPill doesn't understand them. Take Briffaults law - Briffault himself said it didn't apply to humans. So if you have a better example of how Red Pill is not a bunch of manipulation and toxic behaviors, I'm open. But I disagree that the ethics is in the application because RedPills framework is inherently unethical and incompatible with healthy, cooperative relationships. “There is in fact no analogy between that [animal] group and the patriarchal human family; to equate …

It's true that it doesn't apply to humans - so I am not sure what point you are making. This is a great example of what I pointed out, however. RedPillers will take things like Briffaults law or the concept of "Alpha" out of context and use them to justify what amount to toxic, manipulative behaviors. Alpha wolves came out of studying wolves in captivity - essentially equating "prison rules" to an "ought" about male behavior. Ludicrous. How information is used often is related to how well it is …

Red pill is just manipulation embedded in an adversarial framework for relationships. It's antithetical to a healthy relationship with someone, because healthy relationships are cooperative, not competitive. Constant conflict is simply unsustainable. There aren't "truths" to successful manipulation. There are simply consequences for acting like a predator. And those consequences aren't desirable for healthy individuals. There are thousands of unhealthy people in the world that want unhealthy thi…

Redpill is a collection of manipulation techniques designed to prey on insecurities. It's not surprising that they will work. But they don't result in a healthy relationship because manipulation is not compatible with a healthy relationship. So red pill techniques do not work for healthy relationships with healthy partners.

Knowing actual women and being married myself... This is such a silly take. Working on yourself is something you do for yourself. It makes you healthier and better equipped to deal with things when life goes awry. Conflict is a part of life. But equanimity is possible in all difficult situations of you're able to focus on gratitude for what you have in the hear and now. Polygamy is hard work. It only works with really healthy people. In my view romance and love are different things. After all, a serial killer can set up a romantic date, but that doesn't mean they are in love with their victim. We are talking about feelings - which is another way of referring to emotions. And I think emotions are best understood as a sort of language that the subconscious mind uses to communicate conclusions about our relationship to aspects of reality to our conscious mind for the purposes of decision making. When we feel safe, it is because…

Of course, take your time to digest this and figure out whether there is some logical inconsistency that you disagree with, or if it's merely an alien lens that you need to adjust to. What do you think love is? To me, love is an emotion - the emotion of "unconditional, positive regard." As you pointed out, parental love is an example of this, but all love is just that - there are no conditions that change how you feel. The reason abusive relationships exist, let alone persist, is because of love. The pattern of relating is unhealthy and yet the abused person doesn't want to lose what they have, which is the emotional attachment they feel. It takes a healthy person to recogniz…

This is the main issue - healthy relationships begin with your relationship with yourself, and EVERY Single RedPiller isn't the best friend they need to be for themselves. They don't trust themselves. They don't set healthy boundaries for themselves. They aren't honest with themselves. And because they don't like who they truly are underneath all of the bravado and anger at the world, they can't imagine anyone else liking them FOR their foibles, let alone in spite of them. Love is irrational and "better" is subjective. People fall in love with you for who you are - whoever that is, warts and all. You just have to be your authentic self. But love is not enough to maintain a relationship - it takes work. Honest communication, cooperation, and mutual respect of boundaries. The reason for this is that all a relationship is the pattern of how two or more people interact with each other. Those interactions are either healthy or unhealthy. Unhealthy interactions are not …

Depends on the man. If he is interested in a relationship and doesn't have hangups about stupid things like "body counts" he's just going to be happy it's something you are willing to do with him. If he's not really interested in a relationship, he already doesn't think much of you, you are just a notch he wants to add to his bedpost. Honestly, if his attitude about you changes after a bj, it says more about him than it does about you. In a similar way, your trust issues are about you - not him.…

Every accusation is a confession. Low self esteem people need to feel better than others including their partners. Right wing people tie their self worth to their economic status. They flee from rejection to the point that they only want to be around people who will endure them no matter how antisocial their behavior is. These boys are the most fearful, weak, and pathetic people you will ever meet honestly. Their insecurity is glaring to anyone with the most basic level of self respect.

Well, like I said I would say the same in an FLR relationship, so not sure what double standards you are talking about. Power has no place in a healthy relationship.

Power has no place in a partnership. You want trust, not power. Power is what you need when you don't trust someone. Your partner is someone that will be there for you at your lowest and weakest. Think about it. If you have cancer and can't wipe your own ass, is the partner that stays with you and wipes it the one you have power over?

I like myself. I have a good sense of humor. I tell women that I am attracted to them, but I don't take it personally if they don't feel the same way. I'm emotionally intelligent enough to recognize the difference between someone being friendly and someone being flirty. That's just fear-mongering hogwash, honestly. Men's Rights will make a lot more headway once we start consolidating our issues with how they can positively impact others. That's the biggest difference between how we approach things now, from how feminists historically built up their political support. Feminists stood in solidarity with other minority groups. Kind of making my point. The women most likely to get caught are the ones using weapons, which makes the consequences of their actions more obvious. If you are a cop and you someone bigger without any defensive wounds accusing someone smaller of hitting on them, it's not going to seem like a big deal. When you see blood, that is evidence that they were being seriously attacked.

But none of that needs to be true for the network effect I described to provide the same result. The reality is that death and psychological trauma are the apples and oranges that shouldn't be compared. Neither is ok. Full stop. Trauma can be treated. Death can't. DV is associated with both, and it's just ridiculous to try and figure out which of those outcomes is more important to deal with, because both are unacceptable consequences. Because of the fact that male aggression and violence is more obvious because we tend to be larger and stronger. It's a systemic bias thing - children hit people, but no one dies. Women can hit people, but they aren't typically strong enough to actually kill someone that way. Men can kill a woman or a child with a single punch. So get 10 domestic abusers together for each sex and you will find that the male abusers left bigger marks and caused greater harm. Because that's how the physics behind …

Absolutely he can claim rape, because he could not consent. Laws are written without sex or gender in mind. Will it be prosecuted and judged equally by a jury - probably not. And this is the real issue. It's not the law, it's the people. It's pretty difficult to prove someone guilty of rape beyond a reasonable doubt regardless of sex - because most of the evidence is just one person's word against the other's.

There is a difference between what people may believe, and what experts who study things like social interactions have found to be true. The reality is that cheating is complex behavior - and it rarely has anything to do with the person that was cheated on. You are but what you are missing is that all rights also come with obligations, and infants as human beings ALSO have rights. So custody bestows guardianship as a responsibility, and that means the parent or parents have a right to act on behalf of the child. As he should because that is the best way to make sure a rapist doesn't have influence over you through your child. If she stole his semen, he can press charges for theft, and he should sue for full custody because a criminal is an unfit parent. Safe haven laws don't allow women to give birth anonymously. They allow women to give birth without it being entered into the public record,…

You are missing the point. It's the person that wants custody that has the power - this means that when men want custody, they have the power. Not the woman who doesn't want custody.

Yes, because a fetus doesn't have rights. A child does. So a woman having a right to decide to take the risks of carrying a pregnancy to term or not is about her right over her body. A fetus isn't a person. A child is. If men could carry children, then the situation is different because a father that wants custody could simply die to carry the fetus to term himself, and the also sue for parental support for the child once the child is born. The situation is unfair because of biological circumsta…

Again - this is to protect the child from being a dumpster baby because women are pregnant at every birth, and it requires the cooperation of the father to prove someone IS the father. Let's put it another way. The state cannot COMPEL a man to take a paternity test. So while a woman doesn't have to disclose the identity of a father (which means she is absolving him of responsibility), a man does not have to admit paternity - meaning he can more easily evade parental responsibility. The law is de…

That's ridiculous. There are 3 parties involved with custody. The mother. The father. The child. All of the fairness I am talking about is for the benefit of the child, not the mother or the father. Legally, the parent that has the advantage is the parent acting on behalf of the child. The parent that wants to give up their rights is acting AGAINST the child's interests. Children don't consent to being born, but once they are born, they have rights. Parents are obligated to their children.

You are missing the point. It isn't about the mother's right, it is the child's right. The child has a right to be taken care of by the people responsible for it's existence. So if the guardian for the child is the mom, the mom gets support for the child. If the guardian for the child is the dad, the dad gets support for the child. The question is, who is the guardian? Is it the mom? The dad? The state? Because that's who acts on behalf of the child. Taxes pay for "wards of the state". The reaso…

Paper abortion is essentially just giving up your paternity rights prior to birth. This is already something you can do - it's called putting a baby up for adoption. The problem is that giving up your parental rights requires both parents to agree to do it so that the state picks up the costs. However, if only 1 parent wants to do this, then the other parent as the GUARDIAN of the child acts on that child's behalf to get support for that child, which can result with the other parent replacing pa…

This reply assumes that women don't do these things. But the fact is that some men and women are irresponsible. Some men abandon their children for no good reason. Some men lie to women promising a relationship just to have sex. But when a baby is born, someone has to take responsibility for it - and so the laws are designed to make sure kids have financial and parental support. Your sperm, your responsibility. Your responsibility includes knowing the risks of whipping out your dick. Sometimes p…

It cuts both ways. When a woman consents to sex, she isn't consenting to parenthood. But wether she aborts or carries the pregnancy to term, she has to live with health risks and consequences of that decision for the rest of her life. Abortion is also not easily accessible in some states. Women can die from ectopic pregnancies, but in Florida it can be difficult to get an abortion even for ectopic pregnancies. Think about it this way. If men were the ones that got pregnant and had to deal with a…

The nature of "redpill" dating is a bit "adversarial" which results in relationship dynamics like this, where instead of being treated as an individual getting to know another individual, you are meeting guys who are following a "playbook" and making assumptions about you based on said playbook. Wealth and appearance can be useful for manipulation tactics, but keep in mind that manipulation isn't the same thing as cultivating a healthy relationship. Scam artists use these tactics because they work. That's why this is considered predatory behavior. This is not in the same universe as "bettering their game" but that doesn't mean there isn't some overlap - consider the criteria being used to determine success. For example, these guys don't believe its rape if the girl is drunk, because the…

The other side of insecurity is arrogance - believing that you are the best at everything when in fact, you aren't. False bravado isn't the same thing as having high-self esteem. It takes a pretty secure man who trusts you to admit things that make them emotionally vulnerable to you. Question - school shootings have been blamed on violent video games. D&D was blamed for kids turning to Satan, as was Rock Music. TV and movies have been argued by feminists to spread misogynistic ideas to young men. Guy here - why did he want a divorce? There are lots of reasons why he may not have filed yet... the simplest being that it's just not urgent enough for him to go through the process. He'd have to contact a lawyer and have an interview with them and then they'd have to draw up paper-work to review... Glad you pushed back in this way. I think everyone gets caught up in outrage loops, so they don't realize when they are being irrational and simply getting swept away by our feelings. As a society we really need to step up more and help each other recognize when we are engaging in distorted thinking patterns, because these are unhealthy and unproductive. https://positivepsychology.com/cognitive-distortions/ Men in this sub and women in feminist subs - for the most part - have been traumatized by…

Context matters - the phrase "believe all women" is a reference to the idea that we shouldn't blame victims of abuse, and that when an abused person is saying they need help, we should take that request for help seriously. It doesn't mean that women can't lie or manipulate, because they can. You can't take all statements literally, some are only intended to be figurative and thus have limits on how you interpret them.

Yes - get a healthy relationship culture and only marry when you know that you would rather deal with her at her worst than not have her in your life. Divorce rates suck because unhealthy people get into relationships before they have dealt with all their own bullshit. These folks view relationships in a weird, competitive way. If you don't want that sort of relationship, you have to actively and intentionally create a relationship culture that allows you to cooperate with someone you want to co…

Depends on what you think a gf/wife "should be" - how do you define these "roles"? Nobody lives life believing they are a "puppet" - hell, arguably free will isn't even a coherent idea because for every "choice" someone makes that choice was ultimately dependent upon a million little factors that were never anticipated let alone "chosen". And yet we are all sort of "enslaved" to this expectation that all of our choices "should be" "independent of influence from others" in order for us to be "fre…

A lot of the time when people are called "cold" it is because they are very "guarded" about their emotions. The result is that they look like they don't have ANY emotions even though they may have a LOT of emotions that they are struggling to deal with. Sincerity can sometimes require vulnerability. But if you aren't great at talking about how you feel, this can be very uncomfortable. However, telling someone how you feel about them doesn't always require words. Sometimes a lot can be said w…

Honestly I like the show. I don't like the character - but I don't need to like the character to appreciate how this series fleshes out the MCU. And what I don't like about the character is the same thing that I didn't like about the lead in Jumper or Wanted - they lack wisdom. This is a good post with some good insights. I think it's also arrived at the correct conclusion for reasons that haven't been explicitly stated by Op. First of all, as was excellently explained to me by a feminist, feminism isn't a monolith, nor are feminists. Neither are MRA's. It is possible to be a feminist and a mysandrist. There is no purpose to debate - especially when you haven't first taken the time to be clear about the rules both sides should use to decide who has "won" or "lost" the debate. Instead, you should try to learn how to articulate feminist positions better than the person you are disagreeing with. That way, when you disagree with them you are disagreeing with them to either better understand their position, or because you are explaining to them why their position doesn't make sense in a way that th…

Or it's an example of distorted thinking, which is common amongst victims of trauma. This is actually why the "systemic" part of racism really matters. So when a black person is being viewed as a threat simply for being who they are and walking down the street, this MAY be a result of trauma. Say someone was beat up by a black person, or perhaps they are a police officer who has had a traumatic experience related to a black person they had to take into custody, etc. It is entirely possible that …

Yes, men will outperform women on average with some of these tasks (like grenade throwing) more often than not, but if the women can reliably throw a grenade over 250 meters at a minimum, they have reached a minimum physical requirement for them to be qualified candidates. He needs to justify his belief because it makes him feel empowered, the belief even if untrue means that he is not responsible for his lack of success with women.

He should get evaluated then. One of the things I lacked prior to my diagnosis and education on ADHD was a LANGUAGE to describe how difficult some things were for me that didn't seem to make sense with the other areas in my life where I excelled. There is simply no good reason not to get evaluated if it might be true. If it isn't true, at least he'll know. If it is true, he will find out why some things in his life have been incredibly difficult and have been holding back his ability to function…

I go through this with my wife, and part of the issue is that she spends more time being defensive about her position than I do. When she offers an alternative perspective, I begin by assuming she knows something I don't. By contrast, she spends more time defending her view than trying to understand mine. Instead of asking questions about m…

He doesn't come from money. With the age gap he probably just wants to make sure the only reason you are dating him is because you want to spend time with HIM, rather than use him for his money. The only way he can know if you are into him is if you are willing to split the cost of your time together. If you aren't, if that winds up being a deal breaker for you, was he wrong? If you want to be in a relationship with someone, communication is key. As is honesty. Why aren't you asking him why he is putting the decision on you? Why not tell him that you would prefer he surprise you with his choice? Relationships aren't about "romantic effort". Planning dates isn't some magical indicator of the rest of the relationship. I used to plan very romantic outings for my now wife/then girlfriend - and I did it because I was dating. Now I am married and I don't. Neither does she,…

What is a marriage exactly? What does marriage change or say about a relationship? My guess is that your answer and your boyfriend's answer will be very different. If it gets to a court room battle, the man can sue for full custody. If the woman wants to avoid the custody battle, she can agree to accepting full custody in exchange for not persuing child support. You could also just... talk to the woman and tell her that you don't want to be a father.

Yeah, injustices suck - that's why minority groups push for things like changes in enforcement policy, changes in legislation, and cultural changes. But if it's legal and not gendered, then the problem is unequal enforcement, and so policies regarding how enforcement agencies respond are what need to change, not the law. If you want to help men, it's important to understand that. If it's a legal issue because the laws themselves are gendered, then that is pretty easy to deal with. Contact the AC…

That's not true - again, safe haven laws are determined by the State, and with the exception of like 4 states and Puerto Rico, either parent can use them to abandon a child safely. Look at the actual laws themselves, as written. If you want to argue they are enforced unequally - sure. But this is true of a lot of laws for a lot of groups, and it's a good way to advocate if that's what the concern is. So I can get behind say pushing for safe haven laws that are more equitable in those 4 state…

What people do is different from what the law requires. Please cite the law, because culturally you can't really blame people for wondering why a dude has left a baby at a fire department, but will simply follow procedure when it is a woman. These are called safe haven laws, and there are like 4 states and Puerto Rico where it must be the mother. Pretty much everywhere else in the US either parent can abandon a baby same as a mother.

Usually is not always. Sometimes it is the mother. The custodial parent doesn't have to pay child support because they have custody. The child support (ostensibly) is to be paid to the child, and the custodian decides for the child how to use that money. A father can surrender his custodial rights and his parental responsibilities the same way a mother can - they put the child up for adoption or abandon the child at a fire station, church, etc. What the actual problem here is that because women …

Putative fatherhood is about the child's rights - the child has a right to a stable life and it's not the kids fault the mom cheated and the putative father is the only father they know. Putative father's automatically get paternity rights, in part, because the state wouldn't want to remove a good parent from a kid just because they didn't share DNA. Please cite a specific example of a law that you are referring to, because this is a misunderstanding in my view. You are confusing opportunity with legality. The laws about abandoning a kid on a doorstep protect the anonymity of the PERSON abandoning the kid at say, a fire department. So if a COUPLE decided to abandon their kid, the father could just as easily leave the kid at the fire department as the mother. Because this is about encouraging people to not leave babies in dumpsters. In terms of putting a kid up for adoption, the father's consent is required legally, but again because of the practical lim…

See the commentor above then, because he disagrees. But ironically, the fact that it's not men's problem that they can't get pregnant is why it's not women's problem that the laws favor women even though they are not written in a gendered way. That same attitude of "it's not my problem" is exactly why the state puts the financial obligations on men married to women who cheated but didn't find out until 5 years later (putative fatherhood) - because the child has a right to be taken care of and "i…

The second you require that women are legally compelled to notify a man that she is pregnant, you legally are creating a way for men to be sued for being dishonest or misunderstood when initiating a sexual relationship. I can't speak to France's laws - every state has different laws, let alone international differences. But again, there is no legal obligation for a man to tell a woman he is pregnant with her child EITHER. There is no legal requirement (in the US) for an adult to tell another adult ANYTHING. There is no legal requirement for a mother to know she js a mother - what you are talking about is the right to COMPEL SPEECH, which is not a right that anyone has in the US.

I mean, this is not the circumstances, but if it makes you feel better to distort things to make them seem worse than they are, go for it. You are missing the distinction between the woman's rights and the child's rights. It is not a logical fallacy to point out that there are 3 different types of rights at work - the man, the woman, and the child. I replied to another poster - a man has the same rights to know if he is the father as a woman has to know she's the mother. Incorrect. A man can petition the court for a paternity test. He just has to establish he slept with her, which is no different than what women have to go to in order to establish paternity. Beyond that, this is again a practical limitation. You don't really need a paternity test when the kid drops out of your crotch. And there is no more legal obligation for a woman to reveal she is pregnant than there is for a man to reveal that he slept with her. There is also no way to force either men or wo…

No, women, like men, prefer confident partners. Sometimes self-confidence comes off as assholish, and sometimes really insecure people are just easily bullied because of their own fear of rejection. Since emotions are literally the only things we can possibly care about - they are the vehicle of value - there is no such thing as a word completely devoid of emotion. Even apathy evokes an emotional reaction within others, because language is a tool for creating connections. You chose the best word for your understanding at the time, and that will be a continuing process. You'll learn things more deeply, and so you'll find that language is simply a "blade" with which you can slice reality …

Happy to provide value. Reality is simply too big for any single view to encapsulate even a portion of reality in its totality. I saw you had a lot of great insights, but that how they were presented may be a bit too "harsh" for some of the folks on here. I would also be cautious about how you are defining intelligence. It isn't "wrong" per se, but what we "know" can be just as blinding as what we don't sometimes. You are smart enough that alternative ways of articulating some of what you are …

Your frame has a lot of truth to it, although it's a bit harsh. For starters, keep in mind that a community, a philosophy, and a movement are very different things. And like Feminism, the Red Pill is all three. It is not a monolith. The philosophy of the Red Pill is simply feminism framed to empower men rather than women. Unfortunately, Red Pill philosophy simply hasn't had to persist through the rigorous academic discussions that feminism as a philosophy has. As a result, some of the malfor…

I think you have missed some nuance between what I am saying, and what you are hearing. So let me see if I can make that clearer. Life is complicated. What is true is not always pleasant. Women and men are equally "allowed" to be insecure, in the sense that the consequences are ultimately the same. The consequence is that people will find it less comfortable to be around those who are CHRONICALLY insecure. Meaning the less often you are secure, the more often others will be uncomfortable around …

As is so often the case, the question isn't your real question. What makes insecurity a turn off? The lack of security itself, because you can't be both afraid and horny at the same time, as a matter of human physiology. When you are afraid, your brain literally changes the way it functions to divert energy towards survival. It shuts down digestion. It slows down cognitive processing because that blood needs to go to your muscles. It shuts down reproductive functions too. After all, if you are a…

From my understanding, narcissists are actually coping with an extremely low sense of self-worth. They simply do so by projecting and manipulation so people believe otherwise. That's why narcissists are so controlling and manipulative, because they are terrified their insecurity will be exposed to others. The "wrinkle" here is that people are not necessarily consciously aware of their issues, and so behaviors like narcissism are largely subconscious. They aren't thinking, "Oh, if I brag about ho…

It is probably more common than you realize. Why else do you think these guys are so worried about it to the point of talking about it all the time. It's pretty easy to tell. Red Pillers only show false humility and deference when it makes them "look good". They are so insecure they always have to be impressive in some way, and so they put on a show of what they think others will find impressive. I used to date models, actresses, cheerleaders, and strippers - amongst other stereotypes of hot-chicks. My secret? I like myself enough to be myself around everyone, and I don't treat people differently based on how attractive I find them. Remember that everyone is the villain in someone else's story - even you. We often don't realize how we make others feel. Out of politeness, or a desire to avoid conflict, sometimes are worst offenses against others are incidents we are completely ignorant of. You are a victim of common sense - which is not what is "obvious", but is your sense of what is common. You believe that most girls are not into what you are into. You are wrong. Girls like the same shit as guys, because girls and guys are just people. Girls like to fuck my friend. And they also love anime, and video games, and wrestling and sports. You just might have bad luck meeting the girls that are into this stuff. Add to that your pessimism, and think about every girl that you never menti…

Oh, I don't know about that. I think people are overwhelmed because we simply have not adjusted to how fortunate we actually are. Fear is useful for survival - but our technology has made survival the rule, rather than the exception. Instead of our ability to predict the future being focused on survival... We get to apply it to religion, politics, and social media. And by our ability to predict the future, I am talking about our emotions, like fear. Fear doesn't know the difference between a sca…

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, in my view. It is the recognition of limitations that have resulted in unpleasant circumstances and outcomes that no one actually wanted to occur. Forgiveness happens when you can accept what is, without the need to blame. I think that forgiveness can be very difficult, especially when blame is easy to assign because of the circumstances. But if you want forgiveness - it is because you need to forgive yourself because you are finally resourced to understa…

Yes, clearly you are frustrated because that's what you want to do, and you don't understand why you aren't "good enough". The problem is that it is not about being "good enough". It is that preference is personal, but not actually qualitative. Growing means becoming more of who we are. And maturing really means becoming more of who we want to be. Have you grown? Have you matured? Was there a time where you had ideas and beliefs that you…

There is no "dating down". Did you know that they did a study regarding body odor, and when women found the man attractive, his body odor smelled good. But if they weren't, it would smell bad. And women don't tend to be as visually oriented in terms of what aroused them. Tends to, mind you. Not all women. Just more often than sometimes. Attraction is fundamentally no different from ice cream flavors. It's arbitrary. Mostly a matter of taste, rarity, security, and plain old good luck. We don't ha…

The answer is always the same. Just. Be. Honest. Relationships are built on trust, communication, and compassionately enforced boundaries. You like him, start there. Trust that you can be yourself around him. Trust him with the truth, your concerns, and your feelings. Set boundaries around the trip and make them clear. Make them requests too. Your boundaries should always be respected, but asking and getting agreement around boundaries is better than demanding. Certainly one is more effective. P…

It's way easier to be brainwashed at 17. It's a developmental thing, and it has to relate to emotions and leadership, and why people follow movements they don't fully understand. Leadership is certainty by proxy, and red pill messaging seems really certain, which is really appealing and comforting when you are 17, confused, and are still figuring out what your life will be like 20 years from now.

The understanding that anger is based in fear, and that I was starting to have my identity shaped by my cowardice and insecurities as a result of this fear-based philosophy masquerading as justified anger. I go into more detail here: “Emotions As Information and Language…” by Tomo Albanese https://link.medium.com/FJYDxTbUW2 But essentially: Emotions are predictions about reality created by our brains, and are largely self-taught. Then pay for a hooker, go on tinder, or go to a gay bar. It doesn't sound like you just want sex, because the things you are complaining about aren't sex. They are relationship stuff, and self esteem stuff. You keep talking about sex as if by having sex these other problems would go away. But that's not true. They are still there. Just like drugs, and food, sex can be a great escape for people. But not dealing with your problems means that your escape is only momentary. Escape into sex, but when…

If not, if you think that would be unreasonable to expect, wouldn't that be true for expecting that of a woman? Sex is like baseball, D&D, chess, and poker. Great, so you agree that the right to abort is not an extra right that a man doesn't have, which is a direct falsification of a major premise in this meme. Termination of a pregnancy is irrelevant to the discussion of financial obligation for a child. Glad we're on the same page about that.

What?! No. I specifically point out how this is true even if the fetus is a person with its own rights. There's no mental gymnastics here. It's different because unless this is described in some legal precedent or case law that I'm unaware of, his premise is faulty. And that's why I keep disagreeing with you, because you are speaking as if the premise is true. I don't "gloss over it". I directly point out that they are two separate issues. Abortion is about bodily autonomy. Think of it this way. If a fetus is a "person," then it has a right to life. That is the premise of "pro-life" positions, right? Well, if the fetus is a person, then it has the same rights as both the mom and the dad. Not more rights, and not less. Equal. Just like if you stab a baby in the kidneys, and you happen to be the only available organ donor, even should you get murd…

IANAL, but there is a point being missed here. Men have no say in abortion for the same reason that a fetus doesn't get a right to a woman's body - bodily autonomy. There is no contradiction here between the idea that consenting to sex is not consenting to reproduce. But when a baby is born, then that baby needs to be provided for, and both parents are responsible, unless they voluntarily give up their parental rights. If potential dad decided that they wanted to give up their parental right…

I stopped paying attention around victim 20. And thanks for the screenshot, now we're getting somewhere. I believe him. No reason to lie abou…

I am not a "believe all victims without question," advocate. I am a "trust but verify," advocate. So... We don't know that the condom was used for sex with him, sex with someone else while he was passed out, or with some semen like substance in the condom to make the dude feel like he got something for his troubles. We just don't know. Heck, I don't even know if you made this up yourself, there's no citation, and I don't care about any of this enough to Google it. And yes, if this is true, this …

Or option C - ignore your stupid gotcha ultimatum because if you really think that heresay is the only reason he got convicted, your opinion on the matter is not worth my time. So, either provide evidence that hearsay is the only evidence used to support a conviction or enjoy arguing with yourself and your hand, as I assume you are used to that sort of company.

I hate stupid gotcha questions like this. What is the evidence on Cardi B? Don't have any? Must be the same thing, hur hur. There was a trial. There are like, 20, 30 different victims. Many of those victims had no reason to lie. Whatever evidence he was convicted on is in court filings. If you want to personally investigate the entire trial because you think Bill Cosby was railroaded, you should start there. But I have no reason to believe that Cosby didn't have the best legal defense money coul…

Cosby is a serial rapist. Cardi B is a thief. I hope, if she DID actually do this to someone, that they press charges against her, etc. But Bill Cosby had charges pressed against him. He was taken to court. He had evidence against him, and that's why he went to jail. Because the evidence that he is a serial rapist was beyond a reasonable doubt. Who would press charges against her? Who is claiming to be a victim of Cardi B? What evidence does any law enforcement agency have that could not…

Which would be all well and good if that was in the CHILD's best interest. It doesn't matter if one party wants the child, and the other doesn't. Kids need a basic level of support if they have a shot at not growing up as burdens to the rest of society. They didn't ask to be born into this situation. So this isn't about men's rights, or women's rights. Child support is about supporting children. Period. If guy's want to send less money, invest more TIME into the kid. That is an option. But not s…

In principle I agree with you, but I don't see it as feminists being the only guilty party. We've got extremists on both sides. Feminists make some fair points. They also have some crazy extremists. MRA's make some fair points. We also have some crazy extremists. Honestly, I am sick of the demonization common to both sides, and since I am not a feminist, I have fuck all I can say in those circles. But as a man, on threads like these, speaking as a man, when I see people connecting consent to abo…

Ugh... Consent to sex is one issue. There is nothing about consenting to sex that is a problem for men's rights. Abortion is another issue. It just has to do with whether or not a woman is required to let another person use her body for medical reasons. This too, has very little to do with men's rights. It would be like if a woman sued a man for access to his sperm. Child support is another issue. A child, meaning a human being that has been born, needs to be taken care of. If a woman chooses to…

There is actually a really solid argument why men CANNOT be feminists, and this is a feminist argument. “No, Men Cannot Be Feminists.” by Louelle Denor https://link.medium.com/McoiYXHP4U “Men Can’t Be Feminists” by Bisi Alimi https://link.medium.com/xPP6bcxP4U So... why not do your essay on everyone should be feminists, based on the egalitarian argument, but that men cannot because it is actually disempowering for men to insert themselves into the conversation about female empowerment, as that i…

That is not the FULL reason for why transsexuals have higher suicidality though. The reason is manifold, which is why suicidality decreases in proportion to how easily a trans person can "pass" (i.e. how early before puberty do they transition). The reason people commit suicide is to escape from their suffering. People with Gender Dysphoria are unhappy with their bodies because their brains are the opposite gender from their bodies, and that shit is inescapable. Men CAN be suicidal because…

Good call. As a dude, I'm all about justice, and we certainly get screwed very differently from the way women get screwed. I think it's all systemic, and it's a system that was built long before any of us had a chance to vote on whether all the parts work the way they should. Clearly they don't. Women are getting hurt. Men are getting hurt. Trans people are getting hurt. Agreed on the last point especially. I used to be pretty anti-feminist because there is a lot of bigoted feminists online, and having a discussion typically devolved into accusations that I'm a misogynist, etc. But unlike White Nationalists, not everything that you read online regarding what Feminism IS meets up to the controversy. I don't agree with every single point, but that's true in general regarding pretty much any source of information. Some good, some bad, some a bit too specific or a b…

A Voice For Men (aren't they White Nationalists now too?) - most of the PUA community, the packs of roving trolls doxxing people, threatening rape, etc. My point, which you seemed to have missed, is that the bigger the group is, the more shitty people they have. The more heroes they have too. You seem DRIVEN to only see the worst in all feminists. Seems fucking pointless. Honestly, threads like this are essentially the same thing as bullshit like that. Some feminists are toxic. Some dudes are toxic. Some MRA supporters are toxic. People can be fucking toxic, and every group should have a culture where you can LAMPOON the other side to let off some steam, while still anchoring into the fact that no group should be defined by their shittiest members. *sigh* I disagree with the framing of this post - not the reality of the circumstances being discussed. I don't think it's socially acceptable for women to post "no short men" any more than it is for men to post "no flat chested women". I think both of those actions are fairly anti-social and indicative of the maturity of the poster. The difference is that while men tend to orient themselves differently regarding their appearance (for a wide variety of reasons), than women - and so there's a big…

If it's one thing I have learned from reading this thread is that there is no hard and fast rule. It depends on the individual. Some people love that attention, and are not as resistant or judgmental about those they might not want it from, and there is a whole spectrum to the opposite extreme. EVERYONE falls somewhere in that spectrum. I've also learned that some men and women might not have a choice in NOT being aggressive, because aggressive behavior is risky, and risky behavior can lead to g…

Yeah, totally own that I am likely using the wrong terminology here. Dunning Kruger, I am competent enough for this to make a certain amount of sense, but not competent enough to describe precisely what sense it makes. Never denied that.
/r/MensRights03/10/18 02:42 PM

Never claimed it was a mathematical certainty that held in all circumstances. I said it was a contingent certainty under specific circumstances (e.g.such as our real world circumstances). There are formulas like that, right? Like the ones for right angle triangles?
/r/MensRights03/10/18 02:39 PM
1

Hmmm.... I see that. But TR >=< UR should likely also be true. We don't know if UR is necessarily larger for our circumstances... but there should theoretically be a way of accounting for that.
/r/MensRights02/10/18 11:13 PM
1

Yeah, I do get that. Hence why I'm saying that this formula is contingently necessarily true so long as TR+UR > 0 - which I sort of hand-waived before I started getting squirrly with the formulas. So if TR + UR > 0 than... blah.

But I'm too pretty to do math! :p Thanks, I'll take a look at it. It's a decent analogy, but the math definitely has some issues. :p

False accusations of rape and True Rapes are connected. To make an accusation of rape is to make a claim which is either false or true. To defend against such an accusation of rape is to make a claim that the accusation of rape is false. You would not, for example, make a claim that an accusation of rape is false if no such accusation occurred. However, I suppose that it is possible, but that does nothing to push the numbers in favor of false accusations occurring more frequently than true ones.…
/r/MensRights02/10/18 10:41 PM

No, my primary assumption is that the total number of claims that an accusation of rape is false is equal to the total number of rapes reported. So, I'm suggesting that 100% of reported rapes result in a denial that a rape occurred. That's where I begin. And then, based on the fact that some rapes of the ones reported have been proven to be true, that at least some of those rape accusations are true. And if some of those rapes are true, and some rapes go unreported, then the number of rapes whic…

Is it really less than or equal to though? I could see TR + FR => TD + FD, because you do have a certain number of rapists that don't deny the accusations. No idea how many that is, but it could be true. But I don't see how TD <= TR + FR.... unless TR = 0 because FR = TD.
/r/MensRights02/10/18 10:21 PM

Oh! That would be because TR+FR = TD+FD = All Accusations TD < TR + FR
/r/MensRights02/10/18 10:06 PM

It's necessarily true within itself, but that set of truths is contingently true. So long as all the prior statements are true than the conclusion is true.

Sweet and thank you! Will update in a moment! :D
/r/MensRights02/10/18 09:56 PM

I'll defer to you regarding the terminology for now. As I state, I'm not great at math. And it relies on if than statements too, so it's only provisionally true based on the truth of its supporting assumptions.
/r/MensRights02/10/18 09:52 PM

Well... this isn't about how many false claims there are. This is just a proof that there are less false accusations than there are actual rapes which have occurred. I mean, we need a lot more research, but logically, it makes sense that there would be fewer actual false accusations of rape than there are actual rapes. Maybe you think I'm simply stating the obvious? I assure you, I crafted that today because someone was saying that false accusations happen MORE FREQUENTLY than actual rapes.
/r/MensRights02/10/18 09:44 PM

Ok, so I agree that false accusations occur. But I think... I think I have mathematically proven that false accusations against men necessarily occur less frequently than the number of actual rapes (in general) and raping of women more specifically. Please, please, please let me know if I got this wrong: In other words - people accused of rape, whether that accusation be true or false - must necessarily deny the rape occurred. So, by necessity, there are more untrue claims that a rape is a "fals…

Ok... so I feel like I may have addressed that, but let me unpack this a bit more, because I might not have explicitly stated this. Rape is a difficult to prosecute crime because by nature, there is little actual evidence to go off of. 1) Physical evidence is not proof that consent has been withheld or withdrawn 2) It is unlikely that there are eyewitnesses, especially in instances where consent has been withdrawn 3) From a legal perspective, the accused is assumed innocent until proven guilty. …

Yes, men have had their lives ruined by false accusations. Yes, this is unacceptable. But not every dude that is famous and accused is "Nelson Mandela". Brett Kavanaugh, from the evidence we've seen thus far, should be investigated. You know what would actually help reduce incidents of false accusations? Better ways of prosecuting actual rapes. I've brought this up to Feminists before, and while they will often stick to their cultural paradigms, they don't exactly disagree either. So... I'd be…
