Note to self. Even if you birth them and raise them, you are not safe from them. Horrifying.

And as hard as I found it to accept, men will fully marry a woman they don't truly love or are passionately attracted to. My (now former) friend told me before he was engaged that he wasn't certain about his feelings for his girlfriend. I said (paraphrased) dude then figure out if you love her, and if you don't, end it. Not earth shatteringly wise advice, pretty much relationship 101. He married her. They are now divorced. He told me he was never that sexually attracted to her and that he only m…

I'm nearly 40 and I love it. Young men treat me with kindness, the same way I'm sweet to little old ladies. It's beyond wrong that I should welcome middle age because men no longer inappropriately sexualise me. But here we are.

Goosebumps. Creep horrible "you are right" goosebumps. My nana (91) says teenage boys should be sent to their own island and only allowed back to general population when they have learnt how to behave. Not saying I agree, but...

I screenshot things I want my daughter to read when she's older (she's 2) and email them to myself with the subject line: For (daughter's name). This makes me so sad that one day she'll need to read the above. But keeping her ignorant won't protect. Sigh.

Thank you! Am a single mum by choice. I also work part time. It's not even a thing to decide which is easier. Work is a welcome break. Toddlers are hard and I cannot imagine being a 100% stay at home mum. Those guys are heroes. Heroes.

So the copper IUD can definitely affect people as other commenters have described. I've had mine pre and the post my daughter with zero side effects. Getting it put in caused me pain for an hour or two after but was manageable with paracetamol. I'm not denying others experience because everything that they say can totally happen. Just wanted to add that for me personally it has been a great contraceptive.

Read the FDS handbook. Your ex was a NV paedophile porn addict. Not HVM.

My ex bought a house with his girlfriend. Cheated on her (told me, she didn't and doesn't know). After it was clear he wasn't going to propose she got "accidentally" pregnant (I have no proof it was on purpose, just my suspicion). He then proposed to her because she was pregnant. They now have two kids and she doesn't know about him cheating. I stopped being his friend because I couldn't deal with knowing what he did and acting like I was his wife's friend.

Yep. My ex married me for a visa. He kept it up until the day we got married and then said he was going to sleep at his sister's. He thought I wouldn't shop him to the visa authorities for a fake marriage. He thought wrong.

My mum had been "happily married" (who can measure if that's true?) for 20 years. She says that if my stepdad died she'd never marry again because she doesn't want to wash a man's socks again.

Omg that's like having a child. They say don't do something once (ie sing baby shark on request) unless you're willing to do it 400 times. I learnt the hard way but at least my daughter has the excuse of being an actual toddler (instead of a pathetic manbaby).

I teach English as a foreign language and I had a particular Russian student who almost never smiled and I thought she hated me. We got to talking in class one day and it came up and she said that in Russia if you walk around smiling the whole time people think you are an idiot. Not saying she represents all of Russia but it was interesting to hear.

This is why I'm a single mum by choice. Realised late in the day that I wanted a baby. 36 and not long enough to properly vet. 19 months on my baby is smashing her milestones. It's not easy. But it's easier than it would be with this piece of poop (can no longer curse, baby copies 🤣🤦‍♀️).

I'm bi and I have a daughter. For her safety I'm playing the odds that it's safer to only date women going forward (when I do date which won't be for years).

Exactly. This whole thing makes my blood boil. My mum left my dad when I was 6, fast forward to now. I am grown and realise my dad was a weirdo who did things (sexual things) I now as an adult consider deeply inappropriate (not abuse, but definitely wrong). My mum has been with my stepdad for over 20years and my sister and I, and my daughter, adore him.

Luckily I am an employed bisexual and consider it a huge blessing, my job and my sexuality. Telling guys I'm bi comes with it's own issues and this guy should have made you aware. BUT it reads strangely when listed with other negative features. Not all bi people are bad.

Are you me? I have a degenerative, incurable, genetic condition called Ehlers danlos syndrome. It causes a host of musclo-skeletal and gastrointestinal problems. I was born with it but didn't get a diagnosis til I was 35. Before then I was diagnosed with mental health issues, accused of being a drug seeker and my family were told I had Munchausens. I paid to see my own specialist which is how I got diagnosed. My sister and mum have very similar symptoms to me and it turns out they have EDS too. …

I'm not on here often is my favourite 🤣 I say, what's the difference between you pressing the Tinder icon on your phone and pressing the WhatsApp / Instagram/ snapchat icon? It's literally the same amount of clicks to open Tinder as it is to open ANY OTHER FORM OF MESSAGING APP. 🙄🤣🤦‍♀️🤣

I am torn. Have had a creepy feeling about a gastro doctor and my second cousin started as a gyno. Thing is my cousin went on to perform surgery for babies that fixed problems in the womb. Actually life saving stuff. So I think the problem isn't the specialism of the doctor. The problem is and always will be men.

Omg it gets worse. Depending on her age, mine is 19months, she might have pooed multiple times. This actually breaks my heart. Leaving babies in poo even if for only minutes irritates their skin, leaving them with painful nappy rash. This is why I am super picky about who I leave my daughter with, because people (men) can be evil.

I had a doctor do something to my cervix to get my labour going. Ok so a peen won't do what she did, but IT WAS SO PAINFUL. Easily up there with the worst contraction pain. I sucked the gas and air so hard my eyes rolled back in my head, literally, the nurse tried to talk to me and the doctor said, wait she's drunk on the gas.

It's not so much that it's private, it's that he lives in Guatemala and I'm in the UK. Still 8 years after he beat me he got back in touch to "see how I was doing in the pandemic". Decent childcare in the UK is expensive and we have a minimum wage so cleaning etc isn't cheap. Work in the home is work. I work part time and being home with my baby is so so so much harder than doing my paid work. In fact if childcare was cheaper I would work more because it's that much easier than parenting. Point being, all work has value and the job of keeping a home and raising children should be respected.

He is categorically wrong. The actual situation is far more complex (unsurprisingly). Other factors at play include whether a parent is single by choice, how they became single if once part of a pair (death, divorce etc) and also the parents' / parent's level of education. He needs to read the actual research before pontificating 🙄

Because many cultures including traditionally my own, valued sons because only sons could inherit. That's why "boy mums" feel special 🙄 I wanted a daughter and I got one. I named after a famous suffragette and I will make damn sure she feels as special as any boy. It's 2020 people. Gender no longer dictates a baby's life path. You had a boy? Exactly. You want a man who is socially adept enough to read the room and decide of he wants to introduce himself. Even then the introduction shouldn't be overly sexual, just a starting move to see if I am interested in a friendly, not sexual, conversation. Then it can go from there. If a man can't read basic body language and take social clues, I don't want him!

And a show like GOT proves that. I have serious moral issues with anyone that can enjoy fictionalised rape as entertainment. It realism is bollocks. So was dysentery but we don't see that on GOT. I am a SMBC and bi and every day I pray my daughter won't grow up to be attracted to men. Mainly because I want to keep her alive but also for all the reasons above. I was abused as a kid by a trusted adult. Which is why I have the attitude I have to my daughter. She has a nanny and I have a camera recording everything. My daughter adores the nanny who reads to me like an excellent person, but I don't trust anyone. I will say to my daughter, no matter who it is, even if it's INSERT FAMILY MEMBER, tell me. While I hate the notion of introducing my daughter to the idea of abuse, I'd rather she was safe and have a vocabulary to describe it.

I tell my 18MO daughter, if you don't like them, you're right. In the future I plan to tell her: if anyone makes you feel uncomfortable, tell me. I don't care if you don't know why. Tell me and I'll make sure you never have to deal with them again. No questions asked.

Yes. I had a boyfriend 12 years ago who was genuinely good guy. I asked him how he knew the women were that and not children (under 18s). I asked how he knew they consented and weren't trafficked. He had no answers because there are no answers. So I asked how anyone could be aroused watching potential (and very often actual) child abuse and rape. He had no answer because there is no answer.

This. I was told for 12 years that I was imagining my symptoms. I finally got the money to pay a private specialist (£250 for one hour). Turns out I'm not imagining anything and I have a genetic condition called Ehlers danlos syndrome. Women are routinely fobbed off and diagnosed as hysterical. Never settle for the opinion of a doctor who tells you there's nothing wrong. Doctors like that are ignorant and dangerous.

That's great to know. Someone, I presume my ex, took down my card details and used it to sign up for subscription services, I noticed and contacted my bank. If you're breaking up it might be worth getting your bank to send you a new card.

Yes. HV vs LV is about effort not simply money. Best present I ever got that showed HV traits; my ex made a LED heart and put it inside a mirrored cube. I had commented before about when 2 mirror reflections reflect each other into infinity (you know when you can see reflections of yourself bouncing off two mirrors). So he made the box which reflected the LED heart into infinity, which he said represented his love for me 💜💜💜 Probably cost less than £10, but after nearly 15 years remembering it s…

They don't make them as much. My grandad woke up from a stroke and to check his memory the nurse asked him if he recognised a photo of my nana (wife of 50 plus years). He replied, "that's my sweetheart" 😭💜.

He wants to see you soon so he can have sex with you (or stop messaging because you don't want to sleep with him quickly). He obviously sees investing in texting you for another week while he waits for the date as too bigger investment of his time / effort. You did the right thing.

I find "eff off" is also a winner. And calling the police if necessary. Anyone talking to you that won't stop and leave you alone is harrassment. They know what they're doing and they don't merit a polte response.

Yeah FDS is why I'm not dating atm. Funny how MGTOW is obsessed with women when it's supposed to be about being single, and FDS has the word "dating" in the title, but is often about not dating. I love this sub for giving me the confidence to be happy alone and wait until the right time for me to date again 💜💜💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/09/20 05:57 AM

I'm not dating but if I was willing to date someone who didn't pay, I'd simply ask them for half of my babysitting money, which is ten pounds an hour.

Ikr? If you have no money, you can still plan a date to a free museum, learn about the exhibition beforehand and give your date a tour guide experience. Or if you must do a walking date, take your date to see street art and tell then about the artists and art work. Costs no money and shows effort. NB I wouldn't do a walking date, for me it's dinner or nothing.

I cannot say this enough, if he wants you he will do anything within his power / budget to get you. I literally had a man fly me around the world to see him (NVM bad story but still...). I've been taken to the best and possibly most expensive steak place in London (Gauchos), been taken up the Shard (don't laugh, is not an euphemism, is an expensive restaurant in a tower in London), I've been bought Tiffany's jewellery and vintage champagne. I mean a walk, really? My first ever date (admittedly with a girl) when I was 12 was dinner (ok it was from Macdonalds) but we were 12, and she still took me on a proper date. Our second was the cinema. And there are grown men out there who can't plan a date as well as a 12 year old (NB we were both 12, nothing dodgy!).

My thoughts? Beware, be an extremely wary bear. Seriously. My physically abusive ex got hold of me via a counselling service for domestic abusers. He lied and said we were still together and they called me. Awareness of being an abuser does not, not, absolutely not necessarily lead to change. These men are manipulators. This post invites pity but don't fall for it. These men are dangerous. And knowing it does not change a thing.

You can have children and be single. I have a beautiful baby conceived via a donor. It's me, myself and I. No man or woman in my life. It's not easy but neither is having children with the wrong person (and I haven't met the right one). I think women having kids alone by choice will become more popular in the future. For me it's better than my daughter having an absentee or problematic father.

Yes! As soon as my daughter is old enough we are going to do mixed martial arts classes, then when she is older I want us to run and lift together. Women need to be able and prepared to run if you can and only if absolutely necessary, fight. Plus the mindset of respect and discipline is great. MMA is my favourite sport and the women in MMA show that even if you are physically outmatched, techniques used in judo, ju jitsu etc can give you the advantage you need to get away safely.

Yeah I understand what you mean, but it shouldn't shame men to be gay (although homophobia definitely exists) and preference for sexual acts doesn't demonstrate sexuality. As a bi woman I can't think of anywhere nicer to have my face so I get the gist of the post. However if I didn't like oral with women or with men it wouldn't mean my sexuality would be in question. I do agree that no one should be disgusted by you, any part of you, but I don't think that involving sexuality is the fairest way …

I think I dated him too 😂🤦‍♀️ Started off saying how I was his type due to my eye /hair / skin colour and having tattoos. Later changed it to, I prefer when your hair was dyed a different colour, your tattoos are prison tattoos and you're lucky because I normally prefer women with a different skin colour 🙄 Then tried to deny having said all those negative things when I called him out. This is why gas lighting makes you feel like you're crazy!

Leaving your kids in a different country is always my biggest red flag. You would have to rip my daughter from my cold dead hands before I let us be apart. If he can leave his kids he can leave you and any kids you have.

This is so true. If you give them anything they'll use it to devalue your opinions as you are "crazy". I literally had a non FDS friend who shared her trauma and her now ex used it to say she needed psychiatric help (not in a supportive way). 🙄

This. This and more this. If you trust your instincts and you're wrong, what is the worst that happens? Maybe you worried for nothing. If you ignore your instincts and you're wrong? The worst that can happen is you end up dead or seriously assaulted. I don't care who I offend (nb it would be men because women understand the fear we live with). My safety is more important than anything, anything. Always trust your gut.

I am there already and just found out it has a name! That's made my day. I am an independent mum (not single, it was only ever me and she is donor conceived). Again, yes. All women have so many of these stories. Trust your gut, get loud and get to a safe place.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/07/20 05:25 PM

Yes. Read The Gift of Fear. No seriously, stop what you're doing and read it. Guys planning to assault you may test your boundaries and see of the social contract of being "nice" will make you give in to them. You were so right. Be rude, be loud and stay safe out there.

Trust your gut. Always. Don't meet him.

Yes. This. That dude makes my skin creep. Just say what you want. We'll still say no but at least you'll embarrass yourself slightly less 🙄

This. They are not friends. My friends love and support me, are there for me whatever in many practical and emotional ways.

Are. Cats are the best 🤦‍♀️😂

Nah deep down he knows he's not. That's why he's neggin her, his own insecurities.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/07/20 08:37 AM

THIS. Buying dinner is only too expensive when you want to date lots of different women. Another reason why he should pay. You'll find out if you are just an option or not.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/07/20 07:48 AM

Exactly. Should I be worried? Wtf. Run for your life. He enjoyed hurting you outside the boundaries of your experimentation.

PREACH 👏👏👏
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/07/20 05:49 AM

Ikr? "Don't date down"? What the actual? Women are naturally more attractive than a man of equal age, AND women are often better educated, cultured, have interesting hobbies etc. Exactly like you said, how hot is this guy if he is so concerned about not "dating down"? 🙄
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/07/20 04:04 PM
51

Exactly this. Domestic abusers often fast track relationships. Take your time to really get to know someone. Like it says in FDS.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/07/20 11:06 AM
15

Yes. This is always a bad sign and easy to fall for if you're feeling vulnerable. I've learned the hard way that the right ones don't love bomb.

My neighbour brought home a random to sleep with (although he made her leave as soon as they finished). We have thin walls (if you wondered how I know). His peepee is more important than safeguarding our three elderly, vulnerable and disabled neighbours (we live in a block with shared facilities). Death by Covid 19 vs peepee 🙄

I've said it before, I'll say it again. As soon as my 11 month old daughter is old enough I'm finding a good martial arts studio for her. I want her to learn run if you can run, only fight if you have to. But if she has to I want her to be good enough to "win" (you don't win, but you escape being assaulted). I think self defense should be mandatory for all women. It teaches respect, discipline and is good exercise but really I just want her to be able to protect herself. And I've also already st…

And they say FDS is a hate sub. Nope. Wrong again. Just kind, loving ladies watching out for each other. It's us against the (LVM) world 💜💜💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 10:30 PM

Men can be surprisingly cruel. I think women give men a pass sometimes because they cannot fathom being so cruel and therefore accept excuses. Reality is painful.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 10:18 PM
21

Good call. I don't respond unless someone calls my name (and therefore knows me). I talk to my daughter about not being nice and let her see how I deal when I feel threatened (loudly and equally verbally aggressively). She's 10 months and I feel it's never to early to teach not being "nice".

I love the suffragettes so much I named my daughter after one of them. This is why our her-story (sorry couldn't resist) is so important. Men have been the same since time immemorial and that gives even more credence to FDS!

I had to explain to a man that I didn't want to be spat on. A. It's a porn thing B. He was genuinely surprised I found the idea disgusting and degrading. Porn melts men's minds. He didn't want me to spit on him but he actually thought I'd find being spat on sexy. Wt actual f.

I think so. I think they think that's a compliment 🙄🤦‍♀️ I know.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/03/20 08:59 AM

You're right to be cautious. It's much more likely to be a male family member or friend who abuses a child, than a random stranger. I've already planned the conversation with my daughter to explain that even if it's someone she loves, she still has to tell me if that person is abusive.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 12:09 PM
24

So true. You do you. They are entitled to live their lives the way they see fit. And so are you 💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/02/20 03:31 PM

I already tell my 10 month daughter that she doesn't need to be nice to anyone and praise her for being discerning. Some people are nice and some are scary and I want her to know from the start that she doesn't have to like anyone who scares her.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/02/20 12:25 PM

Exactly. The AUDACITY. 😂😂😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/02/20 04:50 PM

This is my nana's wisdom. When someone is mean about someone you both know who's not in the room, "I wonder what you say when I'm not around". Point being, if they'll do that to another person, they'll do it to you.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 03:35 PM

You know what they say, when you marry your mistress you create a vacancy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/02/20 03:25 PM

Ikr. But all those messages cost him exactly 0 pounds (I'm in the UK).
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 02:05 PM
12

Also it's dinner or nothing. Best way to get rid of a LVM is to require some investment on his part. I had a guy that's been trying to get me back since November last year. Since then I've found FDS. So I told him he could take me for dinner. After 4 months of texts about how much he really likes me and misses me, one dinner request was enough to permanently silence him. Do not listen to their words, only notice their actions.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/02/20 01:25 PM

I wouldn't. He won't change he'll only become deceptive. Run while you can and don't look back.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/02/20 12:30 PM

P.s. studies have shown that men do not recognize the same emotional range as women from facial expressions. They recognize anger and disgust though so that's the face I try to use when I'm out and about and men creepily stare.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/20 05:26 PM
14

An ex (male) who grew up in a rough environment told me to visualise myself hurting the person staring, and then show them that look in your eyes. He was a gem who truly understood how rough women have it. He always tried to teach me ways to protect myself and this is one worth trying.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/20 05:25 PM

Yes. Your gut is never wrong. Millions of years spent honing the ability to see a guy is wrong before he hurts you is a gift. Never ignore it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/20 05:10 PM
15

This is why I've already found a martial arts school for my daughter (who cannot even walk yet). Self esteem and the power to defend yourself. So necessary.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/02/20 07:15 PM

This! And when they've lost said woman they come crawling back and don't understand why we block and delete them!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/02/20 02:21 PM

Exactly! A woman I used to date was amazing for things like this (and she wasn't wealthy). It's being sweet and paying attention that counts!

Omg this. So much this. And after you realise you are better off with them absent so it's a positive adjustment. Keep living your best lives ladies and do not sacrifice yourself on the altar of wanting the love of someone who doesn't care about you 💜💜💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/02/20 05:44 AM

This shows it's not about a lot of money. It's about a lot of effort. I love this 💜💜💜

There's another one called Mr Good Enough. I read it before trying to settle down with a guy who later physically assaulted me. Ladies. DO NOT SETTLE. Your actual physical safety depends on it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/01/20 06:01 PM
45

Also, it didn't cost anything. Another example of how being high value has nothing to do with anything financial. It's just about someone valuing you. Considering the relationship worth it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/01/20 05:03 AM

Ikr. I nearly got suckered back by a guy, til he asked me how my daughter was and used the wrong name.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/01/20 07:58 PM

Like I said, I'm really sorry you went through what you did. I hope you've found help to deal with it 💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/01/20 05:48 PM

You're so welcome. There is so much stigma attached to different mental health situations and I don't think there should be. So many people experience difficulties in their life and it in no way means they are bad person. Sending love 💜💜💜

Not everyone with the same diagnosis is the same. I'm sorry for what you experienced and I hope you've had help dealing with it 💜

Omg this. My ex has an illegal job making yoghurt in a factory (he's in this country illegally, I found out today he was still here and yes I've told the police). His Tinder says he's a "designer". 🤣🤦‍♀️🤣

I had a guy do this too. Sent me a text saying so you match and don't reply. I'm a working single mum. I have other things to do than reply to your "Hi how are you?" Low effort text!

This has just happened to me. Nothing in months now 5 texts and a phone call in 24 hours. Thanks for making me strong ladies! I will not be responding and will block (tbh I thought I already had!). Love you all and love this sub 💜💜💜
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/12/19 04:04 PM

I had my first at 36 and I am a much happier mum than my mum (who had kids at 24 was). Everyone is different but 30 is really not "an old mum"!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/12/19 07:03 PM
44

Well done! On a general note for anyone who's thinking about giving a physically abusive man a second chance. How do you know the next time he won't kill you? That thought helped me be strong because it scared me. Never go back. And huge congratulations for being amazing and getting the hell out!

Yeah and your other post advocates child marriage aka paedophilia. GTFO.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/12/19 11:36 AM

Don't feel bad. A man would dump a woman immediately if he wasn't sexually to her. Hold them to the same standard and dump his ass.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/12/19 09:04 PM
5

This. I've heard women say before and it's in The Gift of Fear book, your instinct took millions of years to perfect and it's what keeps you alive (by telling you things are "off" when things are not good for you). Listen to it. I wish I'd always listened and now I do.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/12/19 05:56 PM

And I'll definitely look the book up! Thank you!

Amen! I've got a daughter and I'm already horrified by the things I'll have to eventually teach her. On the topic of mum-ing may I reccomend Dominique I forget her last name but it's called Period Poem. Also essential information on how men treat women and young girls.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/12/19 10:24 PM

Just to say The Gift of Fear is such an important book that all women need to read! Thanks for this post!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/12/19 07:20 PM

Definitely. I got branded "an evil narcissist" by pointing out to what was probably a lurking mood, that a woman commenting probably wasn't lying about her experience of sexual harassment (he said she was).

Exactly this. Fuck him. You deserve waaaaaaay better!

I read this somewhere online (can't remember where). "On my wedding day my grandmother gave me her advice on marriage... Get a separate savings account and never tell your husband about it. "
