I know. I am divorced and never getting married again. All I have left is missing time with my daughter, ridiculous child support amount and broken heart. It’s been over 2 years and I am over it. Told my girlfriend if marriage or kids are ever in the talks, I am out.

All I’m gonna say is that there are many other developed countries that qualify of life is very high that consider chiropractor as highly regarded profession

3 months since separation and Christmas alone. In fact I’m on the plane about to take off to Portland right now. I’m making this one of the greatest Christmas/new years ever, my dream west coast road trip for the next 2 weeks. Life doesn’t end there man. I feel you. I had a fucked up MIL as well and she’s just so evil and toxic. I am glad I am away from my stbx and about 75% of it is probably the fact that I don’t have to see her mom. Again, MIL will always side with her daughter so take those w…

I did but I don't anymore. I realized that it was love short lived. When I first met her, I was a wreck if I didn't get to see her for a day or two. We were in mad love. Coming out of first divorce, which I got cheated on, I sweared to God that all women are the same and I will never love again, I fell in love with her so hard. I never wanted a kid but with her, we have a daughter. Everything was special. On the day we got married, she said, from the first moment she saw me, she knew that I was …

It was a good 1 ct diamond ring that cost thousands. But I don’t care so I didn’t ask it back. For all I know she can do whatever she wants with it and I would really really hope she’d spend at least a little portion of it on our daughter

Short story is, we traveled to in laws house thousands miles away on family thing, she started talking to me in front of everyone saying she got no feelings for me, I walked out to cool off and process but she locked the doors. That was the end of it and never saw my daughter ever again since

My attorney mentions that I’m her parent as much as she’s her parent too and nothing I can do here but wait till the emergency motion goes through to be able to see her

Tell me about it. In the end, you can never win. My stb mil and I always clashed. My stbx didn’t like that. I didn’t like that mil was so manipulative towards me but to her too. Identity theft (misuse of credit/ssn), intercepting tax return, use of her and our daughter for her own good such as wanting to take a picture in December outside when our daughter was sick, then no gets her mad. In the end she chose her not me. Or better way to say is that she would give her numerous chances when I don’…

I just got out of a short marriage. I am 32. I am working towards a master's degree which I am almost done and plan on taking up on doctorate degree. My life ain't over. Yes, it's painful given the situation escalated so quickly and recently. You didn't mention of having a kid. You might have a better shot at starting over again than me. I would still have to see my stbx because of my daughter, but I am going to focus on my daughter and her only. Start over, do things you love. In the past few w…

Wow what a dad. When there’s a will there’s a way. I hope my daughter doesn’t grow up hating me under the influence of my stbx

Wow 100k. Even at 500/hr that’s nearly 200 hours. I’m sorry man. I haven’t started yet but I hope it doesn’t cost that much, better yet, take that long. I feel like legal systems around family law was built to favor the women. At least based on what I’ve been heard, read etc. i guess money doesn’t buy things in this case where most of criminal legal cases do

Men are tough. I served (USAF) and I always thought of myself as a strong and tough one but I didn’t know that my own child would make me the weakest person in the world in tears. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. I am keeping that promise to myself, even though, a shot of whiskey could really help on those nights I couldn’t sleep. But I hope I’ll find some peace within myself soon. Thanks for the support

I believe I need to go attorney shopping. The nature of Idaho being rural and her being in the ruralest part of the rural state, picking attorney ain’t that easy. That small town politics might kill me so I’m trying to find the best I could around there to see if any attorneys have connections in the courthouse. So far, most of the attorneys in Boise have been somewhat shitty. Still got many to call around.

I don’t drink or smoke. I used to, but even through this time, I am proud of myself that I haven’t bought a pack of cigarettes or a bottle of whiskey. After all, I gotta take care of myself to take care of anyone I care. Hang in there man. If you end up being alcoholic, it will hurt you and you only. Be strong

It just is like when my best friend killed himself when I was in high school. Despite that was 15 years ago and memories getting faded but the pain is still there when I think about it. I know I’ll be stronger coming out of this. Therapy has been a good help so far. But I know, besides the daughter, I feel like I’m somewhat relieved. I don’t know why but I felt like I was holding on to my marriage because of my daughter and at least that weight is off my shoulder. Thank you for your encouragemen…

True. I’ve left probably at least 30 voicemails so far. Hopefully I get some insights!

Yeah. I just can’t gather myself to see her virtually. It’ll destroy me and I know. I’ve taken 4 days off work and I gotta go back tomorrow but I don’t even know if I can. I wish at least if I can be the custodial parent, then I can potentially move her and myself out of there but I feel like losing hopes as seeing so many obstacles just to start off with. Nonetheless, thank you so much for the support. I really appreciate it

Yeah I want to be able to see my daughter even if it’s FaceTime but I just can’t. Feels like that’s gonna just rip me apart seeing her but not being able to touch her, be present in where she is. This is just so cruel. I really hope that it all works out. It’s been frustrating to start off as I can’t find a decent attorney to even take the case when the budget is not an issue. Meanwhile it looks like stbx is meeting with the attorney in her state in person today.

Thank you. I’ve been a wreck. Granted it’s only been 4 days but it felt like 4 years. My daughter used to turn the light stand on and off for fun and just looking at that light, it just breaks me into pieces. I also don’t know why the law has to be so unfair. It really should be not that hard to be able to see my daughter where I live right now. Called few lawyers in MN and not willing to help.

Yeah there gotta be something that can be done. The law doesn’t sound fair if not. Thanks, I’ll make sure to connect with an attorney and figure a way out because I ain’t moving out there for, well also 16 years.

If we are going back 6 months, April- late May in Idaho, late May to around 4th of July overseas visiting my parents then we’ve lived in MN since July. This all went down last weekend. She’s been living with my daughter at her moms house since last Saturday and for all it matters, her mom is just batshit crazy, has felony on her record and supposedly have been dealing with mental health issues taking quite strong pills.

Unfortunately the last option is not viable since she needs 6 weeks to establish residency but I need 3 more months to do so in MN. I heard they look at where the child spent the last 6 months. In that case, she spent at least majority in MN, well at least for now since she took my daughter and placed her in ID but at least up to this date if we are counting

Thank you, so you mentioned police report. What would I file that on ground of? Would I do that here in MN?

Idaho. Which sucks because i felt like having an upper hand as I have enough financial support from my side of family to hire an attorney at any cost. Now I don’t know. Even if I win 50/50 in custody, that probably means I have to move to Idaho and I can’t due to my job contract

That would be most ideal but the home state is MN and either of us only lived here for 3 months when it requires 180 days. The new state she’s in is the state we moved out of but it only requires 6 weeks of residency (I’m not sure if it’s still required if we just moved out of there) which I’m at disadvantage as far as time goes

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
