I don't really talk about my accomplishments in person. I just wanted to list specific examples so my post would be as concise as possible. Though in retrospect, maybe it would have been sufficient to just say that I've accomplished a lot, still don't feel proud of my accomplishments, and left it at that. I'll have to read up on imposter syndrome. Maybe give that mirror method or that book a go. And thank you for answering the last part of my post. I do most of those things that you mention but …

I appreciate the advice you've given me here. Maybe I am depressed and should seek some professional help. How would you apply meditation to something like this? Do you know any good starting places/references? My particular presentation of this problem was tailored to a message board. I just wanted to lay everything out in a factual list manner, as I thought that may be a better way for people to understand what I'm saying. I make it a point to not present a grocery list to women or go into int…

I guess you aren't aware that humility = modesty? So you're advice does not help in the least. In person, I don't come off as an arrogant sociopath. I tried to emphasize this point by stating (multiple times) that listing my accomplishments was not me trying to brag. I know that other people would view some of those things as confidence boosters, but I do not. That said, is therapy a good course of action? Or is there any other way to reframe this problem that I'm having? How can I be proud of w…

To clarify, it is a point in your favor because you'll be getting a professional job due to luck (we don't get to pick our families), rather than something you can control (like working hard). Gotcha. Not sure where the saltiness and envy come from. We could talk about nepotism vs. merit in the philosophical sense, but I think it may be lost here.

I don't think the above comments from that dude are relative to the discussion, but nepotism isn't really a point in your favor...

Thank you for the thorough response. Those are all valid questions that I hadn't really considered. I guess I just always talked about those things before sex and not during(?)/after. So I should do less fluff talk post-sex. Gotcha. Do you have any good recommendations for books that talk about building conversation techniques? I thought I had a handle on this since I feel I have interesting/odd things to say. But a lot of women tell me that they "just don't feel a connection". I guess their con…

Thanks for the response. I'll have to try out the denial thing that you mentioned. Would you also do that on D2 or just D1?

I think you let her know by directing your attention towards other things. From your two posts, it seems to me that she is playing games. I get the impression that you've devoted more time and resources into this relationship than she has. It seems really one sided, as you've paid for most of the activities and she hasn't reciprocated with you meeting her family or friends. A 23 year old would/should want to show off her older, cooler boyfriend to her friends. If she isn't doing this then.. Well…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
