The very first step to solving a problem is to identify exactly what the problem you need to solve is. For example, if one can't hold down a job, there are a myriad of reasons why this might be the case. Finding out the right reason is key to solving it. Oftentimes, the statement of the problem ("I can't hold down a job") is not the problem itself, rather how the underlying problem manifests itself in reality.

As a statistical measure, the "average", more appropriately the mean (and I'm aware there are different sorts of means and I'll focus on the arithmetic mean only here, but other means are similar), is a simple formula, the sum of numbers in your set over the number of numbers in your set. The mean tells you sod all about the distribution of the data. To wit, the average of 19, 20, and 21 is 20, as is the average of 0, 20, and 40. When reported, the mean should also include the standard deviation…

If you're a red pill father with kids in British schools, voice your opinions! Even if you're not a red pill father, you should stick up for the option to play rugby. It's not like public school attendees in the UK are forced to play rugby.

Eventually the total approaches a six figure value for services rendered. My ex tried this with me after I dumped her. Upon receiving her "demands", I asked her if she saw herself as a woman of the night. When she asked why, I told her that if I cut a cheque on the basis of said "demands", it would make me feel like I was paying for sex and that is not something I was prepared to do. We've not talked since that occasion.

What are solicitors incentivised to do from a fiduciary standpoint? They're paid by the hour to do their job. What's a vendor's fiduciary incentive? To accomplish that which brings them the most revenue. Does anyone also feel challenged as fuck while dealing with people? When you understand what incentivises people to behave as they do, feeling others are beneath your level of competency goes away.

when it's convenient for them they use relative numbers ("the female imprisonment grew 570%, with the majority of incarcerated women (63%) was arrested"), and when it's not convenient they use absolute numbers (6510 vs 142). This is a statistical sleight-of-hand common to anyone trying to prove a point. You always present data such that it's more favourable to the point you're trying to make, whether it's the military reporting total number killed in a war and blaming them all on the resistance.…

I agree with the quoted portion above, but also posit that there are additional explanations for the income gap. Women taking off work to have/raise children. The highest-paid jobs at any company are at the higher echelons, if you want to reach these levels, you need to have been at the employer for a single, continuous period of time, not work 5 years, take 3 off, come back 6, take another 3 off because I guarantee you that those that are getting into upper levels of the company have been there…

Perhaps your microexpressions are giving them that vibe? If so, they are difficult-to-near-impossible to control. Just be direct about your intentions and make sure you're congruent with your true desires when talking to people. In general, girls are more attuned to this sort of thing than guys are. Girls who tell me that I'm not the one for them (and there are many who do) don't phase me; I thank them for their honesty and move on to the next one. Is it a problem for him to get messages? It shows other girls fancy him. That's a good thing. What should be a problem is if he's going to respond to them. I get messages of all kinds from all sorts of people -- females and males, about all sorts of things -- jobs, schoolwork, "how's it going?", "where u at?", most I ignore. Why would you have a problem with that?

Men are more fixated on time than women are. We have larger geospatial cortex in our brains, whereas women have denser connections between the hemispheres. I know when people tell me to meet at a certain time, it is my experience that the men tend to be on time and apologise for being late, whereas women don't seem to be as phased about it. Neither bothers me, very much, but I do respect the apology.

She really, really wants to fuck, and you're too dense to make it happen. In which case, you should go read the sidebar. I'm not too dense to make it happen. I don't want to fuck her, even though I know she wants it, because she's disrespecting her current relationship with her behaviour, because she's making it far too easy. I enjoy a challenge. Last I checked, there was a sidebar full of material for you to read. If you want a shortcut, you are missing the entire point. TRP is not meant to be easy. It's not meant to come naturally. It is meant to be an ongoing process of consistent improvement.

you guys have succeeded a couple months after TRP(how people treated you before and after, etc) Maybe I'm being pedantic, and if that's the case, ignore this comment, however... TRP is not a one-time thing, it's an ongoing, ever-lasting, slope of improvement. On this slope, you will start meeting better and better people. But it's not a discrete, step function, e.g. when one has practiced for 6 months, there was a visible change in my outcome with people, and stayed the same for another 6, after…

Because talking things with her could potentially screw up your current relationship (this is unlikely just saying possible) and is a complete waste of your time. If your goals are something different than it can be useful. My ex GF is a good friend of mine and I do get a lot out of being friends with her. Current squeeze tells me she doesn't have enough friends, ergo, she and I spend a lot of time together, which I don't mind, but I'd like her to have a set of friends outside of me and my frien…

The one before the current squeeze... See here for an example of how buggered she is. All these highlights are from this 12-month relationship: I took a shuttle to work and back. She would sit on her balcony and wait for me to come home and come upstairs 10 minutes later to tell me she missed me. She'd proceed to tell me all the things she wanted to do with (and to) me. why not keep her? The threshold for my friendship is not that high. The threshold for the current squeeze's friendship is "if /u/ygtwgtnrco likes them". So, I guess it's up to me to screen the current squeeze's friends for her -- she's already stopped talking to one I didn't like very much and I remember reacting surprised about it as it's a bit soon to let me make such decisions for her.
/r/askTRP15/02/16 04:18 AM

The ex invited us both through me, she doesn't have any contact with the current girl. Long as I'm not doing anything underhanded (e.g. going behind the current girl's back, etc.), far as I'm concerned, it's not cheating. Current squeeze does know we're invited. She knew we were invited yesterday and knew I went, from me -- I place a high value on being straightforward after all. So there's nothing that will happen that everyone won't know about it.

What the bloody fuck would you get out of the whole situation? Being a good person? She doesn't have anyone in her life (it seems) and I suspect she's lonely. So I'd be giving myself brownie points with any other girl I'm with by not leaving her alone on the important days of a woman's year (these being Valentine's and her birthday).
/r/askTRP15/02/16 03:04 AM
1

Why did you guys break up? Various reasons, essentially boiling down to current squeeze being a better match for me -- more things in common, there's more trust between us, and so on. I do believe trust is the foundation of every relationship, whether with a male or female, friendship or romance. What do you have to gain from going? That has yet to be seen.

Sure, there should be a paygap. Ought somebody coming out with a degree in (e.g.) Computational Chemistry and multiple job offers from financial institutions be paid more than somebody coming out of college with a psychology degree and one job offer from a therapist? Mate, you'll have to deal with the SJW-type once you graduate -- most jobs are in so-called blue states after all. I'd much rather be exposed to (and therefore learn to deal with) them earlier in life, before I'm set in my ways.
/r/askTRP07/02/16 06:08 AM

How do you avoid this SJW shit? You don't -- a key takeaway from college is to be tolerant of others, even if they don't pay you the same respect. Just politely smile at them and say "no thank you". Signing said petitions and attending SJW rallies is for those nice betas who will become beta bucks for the women when they graduate. Those of us who fake it and go along with these types whilst keeping in mind the principles of TRP will become alpha fucks. And this, I assure you.

My activity 3 response: I was sent to boarding school in England at age 9 and had no contact with my immediate family, save for my brother, who was in the same school I was. I don't know if my brother had contact with the rest of my family. However, the next time I interacted with my parents was when I got a job at a large bank at age 22 following receiving my graduate degree. I felt very much abandoned and I think this feeling has affected every nuance in my voice, every line that I write, and …

The problem here is (a) that your lungs are weak or (b) you aren't using them how you should. For the first possibility, there are various exercises that one can perform in order to strengthen your lungs. If it's the second, then the other commenters are spot on.

the past actions say about her as a person The only thing they say about her to me is that she used to be whatever she was. It says she has the potential to be that way again. However, it also says that she has the potential to be a different way. Just as I have the potential to be a good or a bad father, depending on circumstance.

I strongly believe that being a good mother/wife is a choice on the part of the woman in question and that any woman can make said choice. Past actions don't disqualify women from making this choice from now on from my perspective. That said, if the woman continues to do drugs, drink heavily, smoke heavily, then she's making the choice not to be a good mother. If you're looking for a wife, which is the presumption underlying my response to your post, then unless she's changed in her later days, …

i) Talk to everyone you see. Make small talk or talk deep shit. But make this a fucking HABIT. You have to talk to everyone you see, no matter how big or small they might be. This is implied in the post, but I'd like to make it explicit. Talk to everyone you see irrespective of gender. Not because one is bisexual, but women identify leaders (and therefore, prospective partners) by picking up social queues from the environment. If one is the center of attention in a group, everyone notices and re…

Try taking her somewhere secluded and see if she's more affectionate. Some people are uncomfortable with the idea of being seen as affectionate. If she isn't agreeable, I'd defer to /u/Leviticus59 and "Next her"

I know she's not going to do anything. Can you make that assumption? I don't take talk of suicide as a joke. Indeed, I'll probably tell her something like, "I lack the tact to deal with you right now, maybe you should try ringing the local suicide hotline". do I even care? I should hope that you have enough humanity to care.

No, I disagreed with the original commenters premise that simply because the two researchers are women and work at a liberal institution in a liberal part of the country does not necessitate that they will draw the conclusions that trp seems to want to rail against.

They are both white female academics working in a liberal university of a liberal American state. So what? Academics are hired to do research. I would say these two are displaying academics at its best. Their nature would predispose them to want to conclude otherwise, yet they still let the facts lead their conclusions and not the other way around, which is what I've seen most academics do. Drs. Pillsworth and Haselton, you exemplify how all academics should conduct their research in all fields.…

As for fundamentalists, I'd say 2/3. And you'd be wrong there to. What's the probability that a random American is a tea party member? A survey from NPR suggests it is 67,000 members strong out of a total population in America of 321 million. Which, some quick arithmetic reveals is 0.02%, far below your quoted 2/3 figure. Also, far less than the 70 percent of Americans claiming to be Christian. You're going to need references to your claims, /u/FromThePit before you convince me.

Would hook-up culture exist if traditional relationships were still possible? Probably. There's still enough variety in humanity to justify its existence. The "hookup culture" has always existed, though until recently, it's been relegated to seedier corners of fraternities and sororities.

The LTR is when she takes you for granted, just like /u/OmLaLa's parallels with the Ferrari. When not knowing somebody, one tends to fill in the space with the best possible fantasy. As the space thins, that fantasy, too, thins. The trick appears to be to be mysterious and maintain the mystery for as long as possible.

has this EVER gone on? Depends on what this means. If this means, could one make a conscious choice to ignore what RP teaches and go back to the way they were before they swallowed the pill? Yes, as others have written, this is rather common. However, I don't think it is possible to unlearn completely what you have learned, so the RP side of you will come out at some point. There's no sense in hiding it, imo. Even if you aren't terribly proud of it, own and fess up to it. Show others you've chan…
