I recently saw a friend who my wife and I knew 10 years ago. She was married to (now we learn) an abusive husband (I think emotionally not physically). I would have described her as just genetically unattractive. dour face that seems like it featured a permanent frown, needy expressions, just an energy vampire. Saw her again sunday, she had divorced, healed, and was happy and outgoing, smiling. I told her she seemed so much happier and she was. I will say, as a man, she was 10x more attractive b…

Hubby here. He needs a cpap. It’s impossible for you to sleep with that loud snoring and he will benefits a lot from it. It’s very common but he might resist. Start with just a test. You can order them from sites like lofts.com. The results be make it easier to convince him.

Life is sooooo much better when my wife doesn’t work. coming home to a happy wife is just awesome. A guy wants his family to be happy first and foremost. When I come home after slogging through work and everyone is miserable I wonder why I’m even working. Just my opinion.

As I husband, I went through being single and cooking for myself. I learned to like soggy noodles and burnt chicken as "good enough". I taught my kids that they didn't have to like food cooked for them, but they could never disrespect the chef. I asked them how'd they feel if they made me a crayon drawing and I acted like it wasn't good enough because it wasn't perfect. I don't know your hubby, but honestly guys are usually pretty flexible. If you made it for me I'll probably like it. Easy win…

Husband here -- get out of there and leave. You can't fix a guy who hits (chokes) women.

So I'll caveat my response with the overarching belief that as parents you just need to be "good enough". "Perfect" parents end up with more dysfunctional kids. Gonna agree with the united front. When I (husband) go off the rails, my wife sometimes undermines me. It's best when she asks to take a time out and talks to me 1-to-1. I will say that I end up using the time-out more than her, it's more often I see her going off the rails. I can't extrapolate this to the general mom-dad or husband-wife…

I think if you were to take what women feel connected and important in a relationship -- connecting through talking -- and applied the equivalent "duty sex" level-of-effort from your man, you'd get a good answer. If you walked in and ask him if you could have a deep talk so you could connect, and he rolled his eyes and said "if you must", contributed nothing to the conversation, and with every facial expression and body-language-cue made you feel like we was merely enduring the time, counting th…

I'll use the example of "puppies & alligators". If you walked into your house and you had a bunch of puppies -- which in this example represent fun, love, cuteness, etc -- and 1 or 2 alligators thrashing around, you wouldn't say to yourself "well I'll just focus on the puppies" or "a couple alligators isn't that bad if I have all these cute puppies". You would pretty much focus on getting rid of the alligators, knowing that you can't enjoy anything -- including puppies -- until they are out out …

If you do not see anyone around that you are attracted to, then your options are: (1) change your location, (2) wait to see if someone shows up, (3) wait and see if your tastes change over time due to life experiences (4) get used to the idea you will just grow older alone. Maybe buy some cats. Question: Where do men that fit these criteria hang out?

Intimacy 2x month, doesn’t notice her, hints go unnoticed. Those might be things that could be fixed by her own self improvement — if indeed it is an attractiveness issue. Being rough might just be a symptom of not caring. Hard to tell.

Keep lifting but cut fat until 10% to 12%. use the Navy body fat method instead of the hand held thing. Focus on your waist measurement -- over 40 inches is high risk, below 37 inches is much lower risk medically. Know that your strength/muscle gains will be curtailed while you do this, but you won't lose muscle (not nearly as much) if you keep lifting. When you get frustrated that your muscles aren't getting bigger and your strength isn't going up tell your self not to get fat next time. I went…

For me all of the improvement tracked indirectly — as you define it. The more I improved myself (lost fat, weight lifting #s went up, got proactive about responsibilities I had let myself get lazy about) the more she responded. Key moment was when improving myself became the goal and not improving her behavior. Let her worry about her. For me this has been the real magic of mrp— improve yourself. Don’t make it a huge covert contract.

I'd agree with this. I've never met a girl who was into working on cars and construction that seemed feminine or attractive. Wasn't because they were into those things. But the vibe they put off in general is "just one of the guys". I know women who aren't into cars or construction and put off the "just one of the guys" vibe as well. So while I'd say the hobby doesn't really matter, I would say there is a STRONG correlation to being unattractive to men. If you could maintain your feminine ways i…

Wanted to add, losing body fat is really about a calorie deficit. Eat 200g of protein, 20-40g of fiber, and some other fats and carbs but keep your calories to 1600-2000 and you'll drop the fat. You can lift and get stronger while you do this but it will go slower and you'll stall quicker. Not a big problem with the goals you stated.
/r/askMRP18/03/18 05:54 PM

I kinda prefer starting strength to stronglifts, but they are similar. SS is 3x5 rather than 5x5. You will need to go down to 3x5 in SL after a few weeks anyway, so they become about the same. Get your bench and press up and you'll see what you are looking for. You already have a great base with DL and squat.

"there are no bad teams, only bad leaders." Listen, I grew my career through the ranks and ended up on top in my late 30's managing 40 and 50-somethings. The first few years I just worked hard and eventually everyone just turned to me because they respected my work ethic. Not always -- many times they would question or insult me. I handled these sometimes well and sometimes badly. As I got promoted, I realized that leadership was much more about how you carried yourself and much less about title…

I've been at this for about a year. Right now, if I walk into a room and it needs to be cleaned, I clean it. There are rules my wife has made about which teenager was supposed to have cleaned what. I listen -- and often remember these rules. I (sometimes) charge the kids a nominal fee if I cleaned it when they should have, but I employ a fatherly grace when I see fit. Sometimes I walk into the kitchen (I work at home when I'm not traveling to client meetings) and I see it needs to be cleaned. I …

In my opinion "holding frame" is much more relevant to men. Men have become conditioned to defer to women too much. Obviously some deferment is needed in healthy relationships. When men are coming to marriedredpill or TRP, however, they are usually "broken" and need a reset. Often -- almost always -- they have incremented themselves over a lifetime into seeing the world purely through the woman's eyes. Everyone has experienced situations where they go into a conversation with an opinion or a poi…

Drop your defensiveness. Withholding sex to manipulate your wife’s behavior is just a bad idea, just as we have articulated here. If you would step out of your skin for even a moment and consider your circumstance from an objective point of view perhaps some of the logic we have posted here will make sense. If you don’t want to have sex with her because you are not attracted to her then that is a legit reason. Withholding sex — even though you want it — is a bad idea.

Honestly, I can't tell if you are trolling or not. Being straight with you, this is 50/50 likely to be a troll post. Set aside the glaring and painfully obvious problem that women usually often go far longer than men happily without sex -- ie you are getting into a dehydration contest with a camel. The more egregious problem with this is that it is passive aggressive and manipulative. Be above board, straight forward, and direct about what you want and expect. BPP has a better take on it than me. I tell you the story of not blowing your ammo from my huge portfolio of mistakes. My son is 15 and I have a great relationship with him now. When he was 3 one night he didn't want to eat his chicken. It was one square centimeter of chicken. I started a food war, and told him he couldn' t have his cookie if he didn't eat it soon. Seems from here that you are being moody, almost passive aggressive. Do you feel that way? Address issues like this once and move on. Don't drag it out making her feel like "she's still in the dog house". A long time ago I learned a good parenting principle: Don't blow your big ammo on small infractions. Let me ask you a question. Do YOU think she SHOULD know what you were talking about? It doesn't sound like it. In which case, defend your boundary. You are not responsible for her feelings or attitude when she is crossing a boundary that should be in place. She is responsible for them. If you don't like being around her when she is freaking out, go somewhere else. Go back and read the sidebar again.

Most of the time I opt out if it's starfish. I don't do it to affect her, or try to predict or read her reaction to it. I just don't want to if that's all there is. I do the "ok, let's pass tonight", and I get up and do something else. Here's the thing: don' t key off of her -- how will she take this? Am I doing this right? etc. The whole idea is to take charge of what you want.

LOL, no one is diagnosing or prescribing formally here. Just sharing information -- imperfect as it always is. Don't be so narrow as to think doctors are the only ones who should be giving inaccurate advice. If you go to enough doctors over a long enough time, you see a vast array of conflicting advice. I've seen even a single doctor wildly change his opinion on treatments in very short timeframes. What never seems to change is the strident conviction that they are correct. That never seems to c…

This is not ok. Is he getting all the sex he wants from you? Guys can be weak. You say you are "redpilled", but a lot of guys will -- and I am not excusing this -- "read" the availability "mood" of their wife and try to figure out if he should initiate or not. I will say that when my wife has indicated she is "almost always" available, even interested in sex, it does wonders. I don't struggle with porn, but my eye will catch a random image or pop-up. Male here. I have always felt that the measure of a true leader is in how much he can handle. The true test of a boat is how it does in the roughest of waters. Blowing up at the smallest thing indicates weakness...a boat that can only sail in perfectly calm water. Now I say this, but the devil is always in the details. Someone can get hyper-sensitive around an issue after repetition. Like Chinese Water Torture. So ask yourself if you have contributed to his current state.
