Readers of Game materials, which includes websites, ebooks and the like, are very well acquainted with the unique style of “shop talk” that occurs among PUAs and Gamesmen. It often entails either odd-sounding terms and/or acronyms that come off as esoteric to the uninitiated, though in more recent years, terms like “peacocking” “wingman” “player” and even “PUA” and “Game” itself have all become part of the national lexicon of American speak, the Lingua Franca of our times. This speaks, of course, to the success of its purveyors to make an impact on the American nightlife scene, which has in turn spilled over into everyday American life. If there was any doubt before, there can be none now-Game, and much of its nomenclature, has become a household name.
However, while there are certain key principles hat undergird Game itself, Game is not, has not, nor will ever be “static”-it morphs and adapts as we Humans do. Therefore, the terms and phrases in use in the community can and do change from time to time, some cases being merely a swapout of an older term for another, and others, a rather new term altogether. More experienced practitioners of Game tend to be very well versed with the myriad of terms, phrases and acronyms that makeup the artform, and in some cases, they may even contribute to it.
Hence today’s post, a kind of sounding board for the various forms of “Gamespeak” if you will. Please use this thread to add to the Game Lexicon, giving the term, phrase or acronym, where it came from, and what it means. Or, if you have questions about a particular “Game word”, please feel free to ask. Also, this thread can be used to include Game terminology already in use.
