Although I said that I would do this Sunday, Saturdays are rather slow for me, and the matter’s on my mind, so I thought it would be a good time to go ahead with this…

The other day a longtime reader and first time commenter Seth, requested a bit of astrological advice as how to “game” his current love interest, a Libran Male, into a more longterm relationship. He supplied both he and his partner’s birth data, and after quickly scanning both charts, I thought it would be a good idea to discuss the matter here on the blog for the benefit of the rest of the readership.

For one thing, I was struck by Seth’s horoscope: with a New Moon in Aries, conjunct an exact Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries as well, and all of them in the 5th house, there is little doubt that sexual matters come up as a pretty big concern; a great deal of who and what he is and how he see himself, derives from this. Aries is a very straightforward, “in your face” kind of Sign, and definitely likes to be “number one” to whomever they get involved with.

The Scorpio Asc adds another layer to the sexual dimensions of the horoscope, as does its ruler, Pluto, which happens to be in Venus’ Sign, Libra, placed in the 11th house (love received). (Its also interesting that Seth has mentioned in passing that he works in the medical field that has to do with genetics-Scorpio and Virgo, the latter of whom is on his Midheaven or MC, are both Signs that are associated with medicine)

His partner, a Libra Sun Male, has an interesting chart as well: in addition to his Solar placement, he also has the Moon in Pisces, with Neptune at the Aries Point(!) and conjunct his Capricorn Asc from the 12th house side. Finally, the ruler of his Asc, Saturn, is in Scorpio. All of this “waters down” the inherent “tough guy” nature of the Capricorn Asc, and greatly enhances the “softness” of the Libran Sun. This is a very, very sensitive guy, I would say; should have a knack for ferreting out the “vibes” or feelings of others as well. One reason why he may not be inclined to “fight” as much as Seth, is because of all the sensory “overload” that all of the Water and Neptune indicates. Pushing him into a corner wouldn’t be recommended. (Where is the “arts” in this Man’s life??)

What struck me about both charts, is they both contain a tight Venus-Mars conjunction(!), which mirrors the current Venus-Mars conjunction in the sky as we speak, and to which I’ve previously discussed. In this guy’s case though, Venus is conjunct Mars in Virgo, and in the 8th house. In Seth’s chart, Mars is dignified and rules his Sun; in this case, Venus is fallen and rules the Libran Sun. All of tis suggests to me that this is a pretty “hot” relationship physically, and one where Seth leads, and his partner follows.

Synastry, the art of analyzing two horoscopes for the purposes of determining the level of compatibility or the lack thereof of a potential couple, has a long tradition in astrology, dating to at least the 1940s. If we consider the two charts here, Seth and his current partner, in relation to each other, we can note several very important things.

For one thing, we note that Seth’s partner’s Asc ruling Saturn conjuncts Seth’s Asc, while Seth’s Saturn conjuncts his partner’s Libran Sun. This is a good augury for longevity of the relationship, as Saturn is the planet of longevity, and is often seen involved in the synastry of couples of longstanding.

Another favorable thing to see here is Seth’s Moon falling in the Sign opposite from his partner’s Sun, a kind of “echo” of the famed Sun-Moon conjunction synastric aspect.

Additionally, we note that Seth’s partner’s Venus-Mars conjunction falls on Seth’s MC, tying it into the latter’s chart strongly, aside from the fact that they both have such conjunctions in their respective charts to begin with.

Seth reported that they had been seeing each other for roughly three months; that would suggest July of this year or so. At the time, in Seth’s partner’s chart, transit Pluto would be conjunct his Asc, a huge, milestone, once in a lifetime kind of event. This is very interesting, because this young Man has Pluto natally on the MC to begin with(!). This same all-important Pluto transit is square his Sun to boot. In Seth’s chart, he is under a Saturn Return, very important here as Saturn is in Libra, the Sign of relationships, marriage, etc. And Seth did mention his desire to settle down.

Finally, the notable thing about thee charts is that they represent two gay males. As I’ve noted in previous astro-related posts, is that astrology does seem to recognize “gayness markers” in the horoscope. They are, as follows:

1. The Signs Gemini, Aquarius and Pisces, usually involved with the 5th or 7th houses, with Venus and/or Mars

2. The rulers of these Signs (ie, Mercury, Uranus and Neptune) involved with the 5th or 7th houses, with Venus and/or Mars

3. Venus-Uranus aspects

In Seth’s chart, we can see that his 5th house Aries Moon is trine Neptune, applying at that; while his partner has his Mars square Uranus, which involves his Venus as well; Venus rules his 5th house.

I’ll hold here.

Comment & reply, holla.
