I’ve been perusing various blogs, reading different reactions to the whole health care debacle.  Eh, to me it was a forgone conclusion that this beast would pass.  The government needs another cash now, pay later scheme to kick the can down the road a little further.  My advice to all -  don’t get sick.  I know, easier said than done.

My co-workers entered my office this morning to get my take on the bill.  Like all our representatives, senators, and our President,  I haven’t read the bill either.  One co-worker said in a wry voice, “Well, I guess our votes don’t really matter.”

I laughed, “You still believe we live in a representative democracy, when in reality we live in a bureaucratic dictatorship.”

I ruminated on the history of the Roman Empire and of the Greek City-States.  The powers that be always seem to come up with some grand plan that sounds good, but in reality it only hastens the final collapse.  Will health care be that trickle of water that overtops the levee leading to the deluge and collapse?  Time will tell.
