I don’t really know what happened to Casey Anthony’s daughter Caylee — that’s a secret only Casey and her father can answer. But lie upon lie, damaging photos and stories that don’t match up give me a pretty strong suspicion that at the very least Casey had some hand in her death.

Now that the jury – which was mostly male – has spoken, she is considered “not guilty” in the eyes of the law, and after serving her sentence for lying to investigators she’ll be a free woman.

Sure, this is a disappointment, and probably an injustice against the deceased child, but perhaps the most offensive thing from my perspective was the triumphant smirk painted on Anthony’s face after acquittal on murder charges. It was a slip-up in the otherwise penitent performance she’s put on, and betrays, at the very least, a lack of sincerity.

She let the mask slide during sentencing as well.

This woman is a shameless liar, a manipulator and a sociopath at the very least. She is sadly common in the ranks of young American women of today, who still, if the jury’s verdict is any indication, get the benefit of the doubt even in highly suspicious circumstances.

This behavior will not change until Western women are held to the same standards as men, and innocents will continue to pay the price for their misdeeds.
