Mostly over being sick, but very busy. Back in class this morning (grad school), teaching in the early evening, skipping my evening workout (not quite over being sick yet).

Had the typical “what are your plans tonight?” conversation again, and aced it again. Laid out exactly what I was doing. It took her back a bit, but she definitely prefers it to the old wishy-washy answer.

Ratcheted things up a bit today, in the short time we had together.

No more evasive answers – definite answers to everything.

Working on body language – namely, taking up as much space on the couch as possible, making sure I look “alpha”. It’s definitely having an effect, but I still need work.

Starting to “neg” her a bit, but still taking it slow. Biggest example of the day (as she’s getting ready to go out to the store):

Hermione: Do I look OK to go out in this?
Me: I suppose so. [sarcastic grin]

Old me would’ve said “You look great!” The new response definitely took her aback. I got a nervous smile in response, and she left.

Again, it’s a short day and not a lot new here yet. The effects are starting to accumulate and reinforce themselves, and it’s mostly positive. She still thinks I’m grumpy, and she’s a little confused – this is definitely NOT what she expects of me. I’m going to have to be careful. I have a lot of beta behavior to make up for… but if I push too far too fast, I’m just going to piss her off, which is not the goal.
