The kid woke up hungry this morning (big surprise), but for once there was something different: he’d actually slept six hours straight. Hermione went to bed more or less at the same time he did, which led to her getting what was quite possibly the longest stretch of uninterrupted sleep she’s had this year. As a result, when she went to get him after he woke up, she was rather cheerful and quite mothering. And I noticed something that, sadly, most of the Game/PUA community will never see. When a women is cheerfully taking care of your child, and doing a good job of it, it’s really, really hot.

It got me thinking about Roissy’s Dating Market Value Test For Women. It occurred to me that dating market value isn’t quite the same as marriage market value. It’s very similar, but there are some significant differences that are worthy of note. The list below is by no means comprehensive. I will probably return to it later. But it’s a good starting point for modifying the test to apply to marriage market value, rather than just dating market value.

1. When pregnant, you:

Are happy to be pregnant, and take good care of your body: +1 to your looks score.
Tolerate it OK, and at least don’t let yourself go: +0
Loathe it and/or let your body go to hell: -1 to your looks score.
It’s somebody else’s kid: -2 to your looks score.

Notice the italics, as they’re important. Trust me, all the PUA’s out there: when a woman you love is pregnant with your child, and happy to be, it’s hot. Hence the direct boost to her looks score: a 5 becomes a 6, etc. Yes, this even applies to a 10. Think about it: you landed a 10 who’s not only having your baby, but is happy about it? Even the most jaded PUA out there would flip out over it, trust me.

2. When you’re taking care of your children, you are:

Nurturing, kind, and strong. You can do most of it without your husband’s input. Most of all, you’re cheerful about doing it: +5 points
Nurturing, kind, and strong. You can do most of it without your husband’s input. +3 points
Nurturing, kind, and strong. +1 point
Bitchy and whiny. -5 points

The effect here isn’t quite as strong as the pregnancy effect, because it doesn’t directly effect your looks. Sorry girls, but we really are pretty looks focused. But it’s big, and worthy of note.
