Anna was raised to believe she was a princess. Not as in royalty, but instead as a perfect flower who could do no wrong. Anna’s father was a doctor who’d been a young child in occupied Europe during WWII. His family had their small chain of retail stores confiscated by the Nazi’s and they spent the war out on the family farm waiting for the fighting to end. Anna’s father knew what deprivation was and chose to shower his children with whatever they wanted. Anna had one brother, but Anna was the favorite. Anna could do no wrong.
Anna was of average height, maybe 5′7″, with blond hair and a willowy build. Anna was used to her looks opening doors and getting her what she wanted. A nice BMW 3 series to drive, trips to Europe to see the family during summers, extended time in college to ‘discover’ what she really wanted to do with her life. Her father never said no, and the boys fawned over her. Consequently, she thought all men were push overs, easy to manipulate.
Anna’s first husband was a nice guy, a real gentleman. He idolized Anna. He was a med student and was going to be a doctor just like her father. I think Anna was looking forward to a comfortable life, but she didn’t count on the long hours her husband had to put in. Did she ever feel a gina tingle for the man? who knows. Roughly three months after the marriage ceremony, Anna was having an affair with a guy she’d met through friends at work. Three months after that, she was divorcing her first husband. He was devastated, but Anna seemed to be relieved to be free to move on to her current beau.
His name is not important. He was a generic alpha male. He wasn’t a PUA as they are typically adverse to marriage. He was more of a serial philanderer who the gals just seemed to love. This guy was also married when he met Anna, and he left his wife shortly after Anna left her first husband.
Anna and generic alpha guy were married before the ink was dry on their divorce papers.
Anna and the gag settled down and shortly had their first child, a daughter. A couple of years after that they had their second child, a son. With their family growing, Anna wanted a new home. Something I’ve observed about of women is that their home has to be better then all their friend’s homes. Bigger lot, bigger house, more amenities. Throw a couple of kids in the mix and the required size of home grows exponentially. Anna and her husband live in one of the bubble states. As a result any home they were looking at was going to be expensive. Eventually they settled on a $1.5 million mansion purchased with no money down and an option ARM. They made the minimum payments and tacked the rest on to the principle, thus ballooning the value of the loan.
Shortly after buying her dream home the housing market turned. Each month Anna and the gag were more upside down on their home loan. The gag was stressing out and Anna was ever more bitchy. The gag, being a gag, decided he’d had enough of Anna and is was time to trade up to a newer model with fewer miles.
Anna and the gag are now going through a divorce. The proceedings are made more difficult by the fact that they are also in bankruptcy and their home is in foreclosure. The gag is now living with his 25 year old mistress and expecting another child with her. Anna is approaching 40 and has hit the wall. She’s not sure where she’ll go from here and is dependent on her father for support. Maybe Anna will get lifetime alimony out of the gag. Since he’s broke, he just might end up with a felonious failure to pay support on his record.
UPDATE: Damn you Steve Sailer, Damn you to hell. Just kidding. Here’s his Taki’s magazine article from today discussing how women’s desire for bigger and better houses contributed to the bubble.
