Tiger Woods got me thinking about when it was a good idea for an alpha to exhibit beta behaviors.
To begin with, Game is learning the behaviors that attract women, making the appearance of being “alpha” even if the person is by inclination, social position or social conditioning beta. It is the inversion of the pyramid, with the man that is not a natural, learning ways to appear dominant, or be dominant in a social setting.
There are those individuals that are alphas, even apex alphas, that exhibit beta behavior. How can this be? And why would they do this? And when, if ever is it appropriate?
Let’s start with Tiger. The man has a billion dollars, an attractive (if fungible) wife and is the best golfer in the world. He is, despite being goofy, an apex alpha. Yet he writes to his various mistresses (14 and counting) in beta ways. Crooning about how much he loves them, needs them, they are all his “soul mate.” Yet there are also very telling ways in which his behavior is described that could be seen as sociopathic.
He may not have a superior calm, he may in fact not care which is in some ways the same thing.
A person that is not an apex alpha uses game to convince a woman that he is superior, that he is maintaining a position of dominance. He must continue to act alpha in order to maintain the attraction of women. Tiger doesn’t need to assert his status or his dominance, they are de facto. (not withstanding that by marrying Elin he killed a lot of her attraction for him in that one act)
He is superior to all these women. He can afford to act beta. It actually makes him more attractive.
Now to the second part. The fantasy of women is not to sleep with an alpha, it is to “snag” an alpha. The Twilight books are all about that, the girl controls the violent men in her life with the power of her vagina. What Tiger is doing, is feeding that fantasy.
They all believed that he loved them, and in return “loved” him, at least in the way women believe love is possible. Tiger was giving them the ultimate fantasy and return they were willing to be one of many that waited for him, if only briefly. This is why all those apex alphas, musicians, croon on about the only woman for them, there one true love, they pedestal big time. This is game for apex alphas. Every woman wants to be that “One.”
Now, there is a point were an apex alpha should never be beta: other men. It doesn’t do any good to act submissive around other alphas, that invites attack. If you act weak and submissive in central park at night, you are inviting the muggers. So those out there that think Obama’s beta supplication is a good thing for this country, you are wrong. He is inviting attack, and not just on himself as a person, but the United States as a whole.
We behave in ways that are dominate at times, and then we supplicate. We go half way. We are neither alpha (salt the earth of our enemies) or completely beta, (we still invade).
We are the worst possible combination of a country, the most powerful country in the world, that is wracked by guilt and a need for approval. The United States is in fact “try hard” and desperate.
