Here’s a story from The Frisky about one woman’s trials and tribulations with dating other women.  Nikki Dowling still swallows some of the pretty lies of feminism, but it could be possible she’s waking up to some of the damage.  Then again, maybe I’m just dreaming.

Sadly, being a woman and dating women does not give me as much of an advantage as I had hoped. I can only imagine how difficult it is for dudes – like learning a foreign language that changes constantly. You have to interpret long sighs and furtive glances, remember obscure dates and deal with the inevitable “everything’s fine.”

After a couple of introductory paragraphs that appear to be there to assuage any affront taken by the ladies, she get’s down to describing her journey.  She has a lot to learn.  The long signs, furtive glances, and obscure dates are all forms of shit tests and should be ignored for the most part.  The obscure date thing is one that I always try to have something funny to say.

LTR:  Do you know what today is?

Al:  Tibetan independence day?

LTR:  No, it’s the anniversary of our first xxx.

Al:  No it isn’t.

LTR:  Yes, it is, we did xx at yy.

Al:  No we didn’t.

Rinse repeat, ad nauseam.  Back to the article.

Whenever my ex-boyfriends and I got in a fight we’d have a little discussion or argument. Sometimes I would hold on to the negative feelings, but my boyfriends usually didn’t. Not only do women seem to hold a grudge longer, but they also make you coax their emotions out of them like a freaking snake charmer.

Sounds like little Nikki is playing by her girlfriends rules.  I don’t see this ending well.  She goes on to say,

I know all women aren’t like this and I don’t want to offend anyone by stereotyping. But, from my limited dating experience, I have learned that women are less forthcoming with their emotions than men. Gals tend to hold on to things longer and they do so with an iron grip. Guys will throw their problems at your feet like a heap of dirty laundry. It’s usually pretty easy to clean up the mess because dudes actually want to move on.

Gotta throw in that line about not all women.  Maybe it is even true, but I’ve never met a women that doesn’t hold a grudge and have trouble moving on.

Another thing I’ve come to appreciate is the patience men have in the sack. I mean, seriously, why is the clit so hard to find!?…And why does what a woman wants change constantly? One minute it feels good, the next it hurts. Then it feels good again….Making a girl orgasm is like putting together furniture from Ikea. No matter how carefully you follow the instructions something always goes wrong.

Reminds me of the old joke.

Q: How do you tell if a woman has an orgasm?

A: Who cares.

Women are not, as the cliché goes, delicate flowers but dense rose bushes. Underneath those sweet-smelling, soft red flowers are thorns. If you just grab for a rose, even if it looks like it wants to be picked, you’ll walk away with a bleeding hand. Proceed with caution.

It does seem she is discovering the reality of Western women.  My  hats off to her, and I wish her well.
