Since my last post elicited challenges, all from the ladies, about my thoughts on the Game principle of Pre-Selection, I’d like to propose the following thought experiment:
By now, everyone knows who the Notorious B.I.G., aka Biggie Smalls was. Many in the Hip Hop community consider him one of the best rappers to ever hold a mic. But one thing was certain-he had at least THREE quite attractive Women in his life, at the same time: Charlie Baltimore, Lil Kim, and Faith Evans, his wife.
According to Biggie himself, he wasn’t a very attractive Man; he referred to himself as “fat, Black & ugly as ever” and that he went from “ashy to classy”.
Yet, how many Women could Biggie have pulled, and most likely did, in his lifetime? If he was just a broke dude in Brooklyn, could he have garnered as much attention from the ladies? I think we all know the answer to that one.
It was due to his social status, success and fame-all forms of “social proof”-that made the difference. That Biggie wasn’t a physically attractive Man, doesn’t really matter, because Women are attracted to different things than are Men. For Women, being attracted to a Man that OTHER WOMEN FIND ATTRACTIVE is huge. For Men, not so much.
To prove it, let’s now consider Susan Boyle, an immensely talented Woman-and also a seriously homely one. According to recent news reports, her album had more pre-release orders on Amazon.com than any other music cd on record. Clearly, she’s got social proof.
Does this make Susan Boyle hot(ter) to Men?
I don’t know, so let’s ask the fellas!
So-what do you say, fellas?
Holla back, speak out and be heard!
