Despite the damage-control feminists such as Amanda Marcotte and others on the left have attempted to implement to salvage the career of their feminist lackey Anthony Weiner, most of which consists of writing something along the lines of “well, he isn’t a hypocrite (and he’s pro-abortion!)” more and more evidence has emerged demonstrating that he is exactly that.

Of course, the fact that he is a male feminist is enough for me to want to see the guy’s political career go down in flames, but for some others a bit more convincing may be necessary.

Consider this: Anthony Weiner sponsored a bill that would require “sexual predators” (often an overly inclusive designation) to maintain a registered online identity to prevent them from stalking online.

There’s no evidence so far that Weiner sent any lewd photos to minors, but it’s certainly possible, especially considering how close some of those he approached online were to the legal limit. In fact, he was following at least one teenager, and that’s something, given the circumstances, that ought to be looked into.

Personally, I’m highly skeptical of sex-offender hysteria, and think the fear of predators is overblown. Many of the people on sex offender registries are there for piddling offenses, such as urinating in public or hiring a prostitute, and the precedent the lists set is chilling.

But what is really outrageous is that a guy who was actively involved in promoting this kind of draconian measure is skating so dangerously close to engaging in the very thing he would have punished by force of law. This is about as disgusting and vile as hypocrisy gets.

Therefore, it would be entirely appropriate to launch a criminal investigation of Weiner to determine whether he is subject to restrictions and/or punishment under the laws that he promoted while in public office.

Weiner himself has already hired an attorney, which suggests that the congressman may be anticipating such an eventuality. In addition to that, the volume and vehemence of his initial lies combined with his refusal to step down indicate that he may yet have more to hide.

It is time to launch a comprehensive investigation of representative Anthony Weiner. His lies and abuse of taxpayer resources to procure sexual gratification should be sufficient justification for this, but above all he deserves it for being such a raging hypocrite.
